I’ve had several weeks of Mondays without my most beloathed coworker but alas into every life a little rain must fall.
The highlight so far has been him showing me a video of what he claimed was a robot and I was like, “Dude, that’s just a lady. Fully. That is not a robot.”
“No,” he insisted, “They’re real! They’re so advanced!”
I googled something then held up my phone to display a news article headline:
Tumblr media
Sullenly he said, “This is YouTube.”
“Funny, I can’t find any reputable source on fully realistic human robots. I’d feel like that was newsworthy.”
“These are real!”
I held my phone up again, “Here’s the NPR article on one that’s so advanced it can smile!”
He leaned forward eager to be vindicated.
Tumblr media
He jerked backward in revulsion and went quiet. A few minutes later he found some clunky humanoid bots and said, “Well these are for sale!”
I nodded silently. I can see he will die on the hill of his misinformation. He cannot concede without losing his sense of self. I will let him have the clunky toy robots.

i saw this one story of urs where it was alastor and vox sister reader, and im OBSESSEDDDD I LOVE UR STORIES!!
im obsessed with the trope of two rivals then one courts the others family member, its so good!! so, in honor of my love for this trope..
alastor rearranging the readers guts and broadcasting it for all of hell to hear, including vox. OR, even better, using vox’s own technology to broadcast it for all of hell to WATCH! i want the reader crying, glitching out and begging from overstimulation, and possibly even overheating from it. and maybe a bit of praise and degradation? pretty please? :3
your new anon, pixie 🤍🌸
Warnings: Vox!Sister!Reader x Alastor, in love with the enemy trope, Smut! Overstimulation, begging, praise/degradation, slight humiliation, taunting
Think of reader like a humanoid robot
——————————————————————————————-
Vox had always made sure that you stayed clear of Alastor.
He didnt want the Radio head anywhere near you.
You were his little sister and he would be damned if that old-timely prick got his hands on you.You felt bad for your brother, he was trying to protect you after all, but you were a big girl and could handle your own affairs.
Vox had warned you against getting close to the Radio Demon multiple times, and while at first you listened, Alastor had found you quite interesting. Being Vox’s sister was just a bonus, he liked seeing Vox growl in disapproval or take you away from the red demon’s prying eyes.
Alastor had been making Vox’s life feel like a whirlpool with the constant close proximity he had with you and then turning around to belittle him for all of Hell to hear.
But you liked the attention the red demon gave you.
It was the first time in satan knows how long, that someone wasn’t terrified of Vox and his influence and you could just feel appreciated.
Alastor was a gentleman. He took the time to get to know you and after a while you accepted his advances.
You didnt have the heart to tell Vox.
I mean what would you tell him?
’oh yea by the way! I’ve been seeing Alastor behind your back even though I know you hate his guts’
You really wanted him to at least tolerate Alastor as your partner.
”What’s on your mind doll?” a rough low voice said, making you blink out of your headspace.
Alastor tilted his head as you smiled ”oh its nothing. Just wished that my brother didnt hate you. You’re not as bad as he says you are”
Alastor chuckled. The two of you had been seeing each other behind the Televison’s back and it gave Alastor so much joy of the thrill knowing you fancied him enough to go against your brother.
He rubbed your thighs reassuringly as he pressed a soft kiss to your pouty lips. “Oh really?” He smirked.
You shook your head, not wanting to think about it anymore. To shift the mood, you tangled your fingers in his fluffy locks, pulling him back to your mouth.
The two of you were in his radio tower for a late night rendezvous.
Vox would blow a fuse if he knew you had snuck out of headquarters to see the red demon.
You pressed your body against his, grinding your hips against the hard bump in Alastor’s pants. You smirked against his lips “aww you missed me that much?” Alastor growled lowly as he dug his claws in your soft skin.
Most secret nights were spent having intense make out sessions and heavy petting.
But you wanted to go further, it was always Alastor who stopped before the two of you could go any further.
You slipped from his lap, to situate yourself between his thighs. Your hands fumbled with his belt and right when your fingers pulled at the band of his boxers, Alastor stopped you.
”I think its quite late to indulge in such activities dearest”
You pouted up at him, eyes swirling up at him “I just want to make you feel good too…don’t you want to fuck me Al?”
You nuzzled your nose against his erection, purring “I don’t know when Vox’ll let me out again”
How he resist when you looked so cute peppering kisses to his cock?
He let out a groan and when he didnt protest any further, you pulled until his cock sprang from its confines and slapped against your lips.
You took ahold of the girthy length and stroked it a few times before wrapping your lips around the tip.
Alastor sighed as you swirled your tongue on the tip of his cock, giving it kitten licks before taking him whole.
You bobbed your head happily, sending vibrations along his length as you sucked.
A hand wrapped in your hair, pushing you further down until you gurgled around him.
Alastor’s cock twitched in your throat as he looked down at you.
Oh what a pretty thing you were…
He snatched you off him, ignoring your whine when he pulled you back into his lap. He grinned at you. You were buzzing, skin flushed. He pulled you close to his face “seems you’ve convinced me enough to indulge you my dear”
A hand made its way under your dress, toying with your panties.
”To think your brother thinks he can keep you away from me” he chuckled as a finger caressed your puffy clit. You let out a low gasp, leaning into him as he played with your pussy.
You jolted when a finger slid into your warm heat, curling along your gummy walls. You mewled in his shoulder, grinding into his hand. Alastor grinned as your sticky slick dripped onto his hand, adding a second finger, he curled them into your walls, stretching you out.
His lips pressed into your exposed shoulder, sharp teeth nipping ”you’ll be a good girl for me wont you doll?” You nodded and gasped as he slipped his fingers out of you and picked you up to lay you across his control panel.
He grinned above you as he pulled at your dress. Your full tits spilled, nipples perking as they were exposed to the cool air.
You threw your head back as he pinched and twisted the peaks, letting out a ragged moan when his hot mouth enveloped the mound, switching between the two, sucking on your nipples like a babe seeking milk
“Ooh-Ah” you sighed when he tugged a nipple with his teeth.
Alastor grinded his cock against your smoldering heat, coating him in your essence.
His lips released your tit and trailed up to litter your collarbone and neck in kisses. You blinked when his face appeared in your vision.
You gave him a soft smile and hooked your legs around his waist.
You were tingling with excitement. The buttons on his control panel dug into your back, but you were focused on the demon looming over you.
”I fear your brother will be furious if he discovered our treachery”
He was givin you one last chance to change your mind, but at this moment all you wanted was the pleasure that he could grant you.
So you threw caution to the wind
You angled your hips so his cock catch your clit, pulling him by his collar
“Fuck Vox”
He grinned and when he slotted his lips against yours, he thrusted into you, swallowing your groan as he stretched your cunt.
Unbeknownst to you, Alastor had turned his radio frequency on.
You were unaware that he was now broadcasting his defilement of you.
Voxtech’s pampered princess.
”A-Ala..Oh fuck!” You moaned in his neck as he filled you.
Alastor groaned in your ear “you take me so well darlin hehe i knew you would” bottoming out til his balls rested on the curve of your ass.
Your face was buried in his neck, body tingling as your systems ran haywire.
But when he pulled his hips back and pushed again and again and again you couldn’t stop the airy gasps that left your throat.
Your cunt clenched around his cock as he buried himself in you, soft grunts rattling in his throat as he pushed your hips deeper into the control panel. You were sure you’ll have the marks afterwards from how hard he was pummeling into you but that was a matter to be concerned with later.
A hand wrapped around your locks, pulling your face from his neck to look at him. Your lip was caught between your teeth, trying to contain the depraved sounds that bubbled in your chest. Your face was flushed and your eyes were blown.
Alastor peppered your heated face with kisses, whispering perverted nothings against your skin as he rutted up into you.
”Seven hells this cunt is perfect fuck! you look so pretty doll. My pretty girl. This what you wanted isn’t it? Hmm? You wanted me to take you didnt you doll?”
High pitch whines left your throat as his pace quickened.
”A-Al p-please oh fuck oh fuck I’m gonna ah!” Your cunt gushed and squeezed as your orgasm wrecked through your system.
Alastor sneered in your face, eyes narrowed as your face contorted in pleasure “That’s right doll cum on my cock. That’s a good girl. Such a good little slut”
You let out a cry as your systems buzzed as you creamed his cock.
You slumped against his chest, panting as your body shook.
”oh sweetheart I’m not done with you”
Vox was fuming.
How dare that insufferable loser take over his systems!
He was trying to gain control over the frequencies when he froze at the sound of your voice.
No
”Alastor oh fuck!” Your voice ranged out on the monitors.
No No No No NO!
FUCK NO!
Vox watched in horror as his baby sister cried out in ecstasy.
”Sir the channels are blocked how would you like me-”
GET THE FUCK OUT!” He roared.
Vox sat in his chair and plugged various cables into his import.
He would be damned if anyone else saw you in such a disgraceful state. He checked every monitor in the city and shut the system down. He limited it to only Voxtech headquarters.
”that’s a good little slut”
Vox growled as the systems glitched and became distorted.
”P-please please please! Al no more” tears streamed down your face as blue sparks flew from your systems.
Your legs trembled as the red demon pounded into you.
Your body jolted against his control panel as your claws ripped through the metal.
”You can take a little more can’t you doll?” Alastor asked as he worked you through another orgasm.
Your body was covered in sweat and your systems were working overtime to prevent you from overheating.
Alastor’s cock twitched as your core heated up. It was like being surrounded by molten goo. Your cum was dripping down your legs and coating his length.
You cried out as his cock get that sweet spot inside you, the sound of your cunt squelching and his skin hitting yours radiated through the room.
”I wonder how far I can push your systems dear. Youve got such a pretty pussy, wonder how much of my cum you can take”
Every word had you clenching around him.
”Allllllll” you whined as your system started to glitch, a warning ding ringing in your head.
”You like me ruining you don’t you doll? What would your dear brother say if he saw you taking the cock of the radio demon? I can’t wait to see the look on his face when I send you back to him filled with my cum, oooh yes would you like that pretty doll? To go back home stuffed with my cum hmmm?”
”too m-uch oh fuck fuck fuck Al! Ah! Please please I t-think I’m-I’m gonna OH!” Your body seized as you glitched out, sparks flying and the lights on the control panel flickered as Alastor tore your orgasm from you. A cry ripped for your lips as your eyes dimmed, systems shutting down as you milked his cock, pulling his own orgasm from him.
Alastor came with a growl as he painted your heated walls white, humming in satisfaction when your body went limp and a soft beeping came from you.
With a squish, he pulled his cock out of you and watched as his cum dripped out of you.
He watched as you slid from the panel and into a heap on the floor. Your body convulsed and twitched as your eyes glowed on and off, a soft static coming from you. He hummed and grinned as Vox appeared across your eyes.
”Hello old pal enjoy the show? Hope you don’t mind the little dear coming home late she’s a bite worst for wares.”
Bright sparks flew from you as Vox tried to boot your systems back up.
”YOU FUCKING PRICK! I SWEAR I WILL KILL YOU!” Vox growled.
Alastor chuckled, before pulling your limp body to him. He angled your head so Vox could see him clearly and rested his head on your ass. He grinned when electricity ran through you, a protective measure no doubt, he leaned down to your used cunt and placed a soft kiss to your cunt, sucking it into his mouth.
Vox smashed his control panel and cursed when your systems sent a report of the mess you were.
“Hehe until next time old friend” Alastor crackled as he took over your systems, blocking Vox from having any access.

Gravity Falls: What Did You Do? Ch. 1
Summary: “Nine Lives Lee”, a rare Stanley Pines who ended up on the other side of the portal instead of his brother, literally falls into the “Better World” that one dimension that most of the alternate versions of Stanford Pines tend to be jealous of and hold over Lee’s head as ‘proof’ that everyone would have been better off if he’d just done what his brother asked him. The Ford of this dimension, however, isn’t quite what he seems. And neither is his version of Stanley.
Rating: T+
Warnings:  Language, violence, medical related gore, and mentions of graphic violence. Cross-Posted on AO3 Here.
Disclaimer: Reverse Portal Stan "Nine Lives Lee" is owned by @urdadsceilingfan
This version of the Better World AU is owned by @mother-ofthe-universedraws

Ch.1
This isn’t the first time Lee’s stood at the ledge on the roof of a tall building, looking down, and contemplating his life and what it’s worth. How he got here. What he’s done so far. What his next move is.
“Halt! You’re at the end of the line, old man.”
This isn’t the first time he’s been cornered by cops of a different dimension, either. He never bothered to learn what this particular organization liked to call themselves. Eventually, all of the acronyms and titles ran together, and it’d still be some echelon of police at the end of the day. After all, if it sounds like a pig, walks like a pig, and rolls around in shit like a pig, it’s a pig. Especially since some of the cops in this world were literal humanoid pigs; this version of Earth was half populated by regular humans, and the other half populated by anthropomorphic animals.
At least they spoke his first language, English. He’s gotten better at learning languages over the years, having a sharper echoic memory than anyone would assume just by looking at him, but it was still annoying when he would go long stretches not able to understand anything because he didn’t know the local language. He really should get a universal translator one of these days.
“Hands where we can see them!” He heard a multitude and clicks and the distinctive bzzt of electricity. Lee knew they were pulling out weapons on him, most likely handguns, tasers, and good ol’ fashioned nightsticks. He was pretty familiar with all of those, having been at the sending and receiving ends of them all. This version of Earth wasn’t advanced enough for energy based weaponry.
Lee slipped his portal gun into his jacket quickly and quietly, turning around as he did so. He slowly put his hands up in front of himself, in a defensive, if somewhat relaxed, guard.
“Up in the air, dirtbag!” The cop barked at him - quite literally, this particular officer is some humanoid dog. He noticed some of them had their eyes drawn to his right arm; his robotic one. He couldn’t blame them for being distracted, considering the tech here couldn’t have been advanced enough for a prosthetic like his.
Slowly Lee started to raise his hands.
And then he flipped them around with his middle fingers up, and did a free-fall backwards off of the ledge.
This isn’t the first time Lee’s known the view from halfway down.
But they didn’t call him Nine Lives Lee for nothing; because this also isn’t the first time Lee had opened a portal without the cops noticing until he’d already jumped.
“GET BACK HERE LEE!” One of the cops shouted at him as soon as they were able to sprint over to the ledge and look down at him, expecting a suicide attempt, only to be baffled by a swirling electric-blue vortex floating there, right in the path of Lee’s descent.
“See ya later sucker!” He called back, still keeping both middle fingers up even as bullets whizzed right past him but failed to quite make the mark. One lucky shot got him in in his robotic arm, but like most parallel Earth bullets, it just clinked right off.
The portal swallowed him up, and collapsed in on itself, winking right out of existence from Dimension-BoJ6
---
Lee had complicated feelings for Rick Sanchez. They were friends, rivals,  begrudging allies, enemies, lovers - sometimes all of those things at once. It’s a long story, a few decades of a long story in fact. But he never underestimated Rick’s brilliance. At one point in his travels, Rick had approached him; he needed some parts from a heavily guarded facility, and told Lee if he could get them without dying he would build him his own portal gun. Rift-Hunting was long and exhausting and he could go months to years stuck in a dimension before finding one, so of course Lee took the job. He’d had his trusty portal gun ever since.
However, for all of Rick’s undeniable genius, for the life of him Lee could not figure out why that dumbass never made portals that you could clearly see through. The guy had an entire civilization of alternate versions of himself, there was no way they couldn’t have cobbled their big brains and even bigger egos together and figured it out. Lee was still convinced they were just that dedicated to their sci-fi aesthetic.
Most of the time, both sides of the portal created by the gun were oriented the same - if you generated a portal two feet off of the ground and vertically upright, it’d be the same when you went through it. If you made a portal into the ground, usually you would fall through a floor and/or ceiling. This wasn’t always the case, however.
By making a portal horizontal, and mid-air up forty floors, Lee had expected to continue to free fall; he would still have plenty of time between falling through the portal and hitting the ground to get himself properly oriented and get his emergency landing gear in time.
This time, the ground was less than five feet below him.
“Ough!” Lee grunted, the wind knocked out of him as he landed on his back onto a concrete floor, he also felt a sharp burst of pain in the back of his head when that also smacked against the dusty concrete, the blow slightly softened by his beanie. “...Ouch.”
Sweet Moses, he knew he was up there in years but did he really need to get humbled by a lower back pain flare? The impact has caused the muscles there to start spasming, and he knew it’d take hours to stop on its own if he didn’t do something about it.
Lee grimaced as he sat up, and took in his darkened surroundings as he reached down to his utility belt, feeling around for the right compartment. Appeared to be some kind of basement, with abandoned shelves, desks, and tables. It was dusty down here, but not a thick blanket, so it was not abandoned, just seldom visited. It looked like the room was slightly in ruins, because there were loose pieces of the concrete wall and floor scattered around. There was a peculiar structure behind him, where his portal had spat him out; some inverted triangle with a hole in the center-.
Lee's entire body froze for a split second; it wasn’t like him to let himself get caught off guard, but he knew exactly what he was looking at. After all, it was the very same structure he’d been sucked into almost thirty years ago, jettisoning him from his original dimension, and his twin brother who he’d just been fighting with-.
All of these years later and the sizzle from the structure he’d kicked Ford into, and the horrific, pained scream from his brother that followed still haunted him when he thought about it.
Rising slowly due to his flaring pain, Lee’s flesh hand pulled a syringe from his medical pouch, and his prosthetic hand brought his portal gun close to his face so he could read the console home screen for the information it’d gathered as soon as he fell into this dimension:
[€ΔŘŦĦ ¥€ΔŘ: 2010
₣Ř€Ω ΜΔŦĆĦ: Ň€ǤΔŦƗV€
Đ€ŞƗŇΔŦƗØŇ: Ǥβ-1100
₣Ř€€ ŴƗ₣Ɨ? ŇØ]
Damn. The negative frequency match told him what didn’t surprise him, but still disappointed him; this wasn’t his dimension. Well, you could only get so lucky when you set the destination to ‘random’ and ‘habitable atmosphere’. Although, hasn’t he heard of Dimension BG-1100 before? He had an inkling he’d at least heard that designation before.
Lee rose fully to his feet, grimacing as the sharp pain shooting up from his lower back, he uncapped his syringe and, clenched in fist, he brought it under his coat and shifted his belt line low enough to expose the skin underneath, and using that same fist as a landmark to measure below his hip. He didn’t bother to count down this time, he just gave himself the injection.
“⋔⍜⏁⊑⟒⍀⎎⎍☊☍⟒⍀!” Lee hissed harshly under his breath; he even didn’t remember exactly what that language was called, because he’d learned it five or so dimensions ago, but he was very familiar with that specific phrase because of how frequently he’d used it when he was frustrated, angry, in pain, or really didn’t like the person he was talking to. As soon as the syringe was completely out of the cocktail of ketorolac and cyclobenzaprine, the needle automatically retracted, and he sighed in relief as his pain started to dissipate. He put the spent syringe into a different pouch; he used to not be opposed to just tossing these where he was, until some people started using those to get his DNA to track him.
Speaking of tracking-
There was a glowing red dot in the corner of the massive room. Lee halted all movement, and strained to see what the source was, which wasn’t easy given the room being dark. Whether it was a camera, a drone, or some other kind of sci-fi security device, he knew when something was recording him.
The sci-fi adventuring badass in him wanted to destroy it with his blaster, quick and easy. But Lee wouldn’t have gotten this far if he wasn’t practical; his blaster had limited charges, and he didn’t need to run out mid-fight just because he’d decided to be extra. There wasn’t just one type of quick and easy, after all.
He did a precursory scan of his surroundings and- aha! He knelt over and picked up a loose chunk of concrete- good thing this place didn’t seem to ever get cleaned or fixed up. Straining slightly, he held the chunk in his robotic hand, focused on the red dot in the corner, and chucked the piece of concrete at it as hard as his prosthetic arm would let him - which was a lot harder than his flesh arm could manage.
The red dot went out as the chunk made contact, and the piece of technology that emitted it in the corner fell to the ground in pieces. Quick and easy, and he didn’t have to use any of his stuff. Still, he’d already been recorded, he needed to make himself scarce before trouble came looking for him.
He slid his gaze to the side and up when he heard the distinct sound of locks and chains being messed with.
Great.
He looked around for something to crouch behind.
From upstairs, he could hear the rusty squeak from a door opening, and sliding across the floor, followed by semi-sharp footsteps descending down the stairs, picking up in sound enough Lee could assess what he was hearing.
‘Dress shoes’ He deduced - not boots or sneakers, so whoever this was at a disadvantage for running and fighting. So fight and flight were both still on the table. Good, he liked having options.
The distinct shape of a human took the last step from the stairs into the basement, and for a moment just stood there. Lee could see that their gaze was fixed onto the inverted triangle of the portal.
Tall. Thin- a variant of McGucket, perhaps? If this was his brothers basement on another parallel Earth, Fiddleford McGucket was a constant in his life. Most of the time he was batshit crazy, but in some dimensions he’d retained his sanity.
But every time he was a genius, and every time he had some gadget on him with the word ‘Death’ in it and there were only so many chances Lee was willing to take.
The figures back was turned to him as they walked forward and felt around the walls, likely looking for a lightswitch. They had still, jerky movements; joint pain. Yeah, if this was McGucket he’d be getting up there in years just like him.
Lee slid along the opposite side of the room, slinking around the shadows and willing his steps to be as silent as possible.
He’d made it all the way to the base of the stairs when he’d misjudged a turn and his prosthetic arm smacked clanked against the metal banister of the stairs. He inwardly cursed; on if the things they don’t tell you about prosthetics is that is can sometimes mess up your spacial awareness, something you’d really need in the dark
“Who’s there?” The figure asked and Lee didn’t have time to take in the details of their voice because he saw them point something long and cylindrical at him-
Like a shotgun.
In an instant he’d run over and tackled the figure, and they both tumbled to the floor, knocking the rifle out of the figure's hand, while the other hand flipped on the switch on the wall during the initial tackle.
The lights in the basement flicked in slowly, but that was enough time for Lee to straddle the figure and reach for his-
“St-.... Stanley?” The voice below him quivered, like a choked up whisper of surprise and awe, making Lee freeze up right before his hand could grasp his knife.
That was a name he never used anymore.
And that was a voice he’d heard before, it was rusty and heavy but-
Lee dares to look up from his side - and he saw that the object he’d knocked out of the mans hand was not a rifle but a cane - and to the face of the man he’d knocked down. A prominent nose and cleft chin, gray hair streaked in silver, and, most importantly, it was almost exactly the same as his own face.
He’d met many variants of this man throughout the multiverse, and it was never a warm reception; there was always hostility and resentment from the other end. But this man looked at him like he was seeing something that amazed but terrified him.
“Ford?”
To be continued…

NOTES
-“View From Halfway Down” is a reference to Bojack Horseman. And yes, the world Lee was in initially was the Bojack Horseman universe. The name of the dimension, BoJ6 comes from “BoJack”, and 6 from the number of seasons.
-The scene where Lee escapes is a direct reference to this art of him
-The Portal Guns text is from the Delta font from https://pixelied.com/font-generator/discord if you have trouble reading it, here’s what it said:
[Earth Year: 2010
FREQ MATCH: NEGATIVE
Designation: GB1100
Free WiFi? No]
-Dimension-GB1100 is the designation for the “Better World” AU because in Caesar Cipher with shift 5, GB = BW or "Better World". "1100" is for "IIOO" or the initials in "International Institute of Oddology".
-The language used by Lee in the beginning is from Alien Speech Translator
-Ketorolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to reduce inflammation and pain and often used for acute back pain, and Cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxer that can treat pain and muscle spasms. Stan probably carries like a dozen vials of a personalized mix that he acquires through stealing various means.
-I thought it’d be interesting if compared to Stanford’s photographic memory (having a highly detailed memory of things you see), Lee had echoic memory (highly detailed memory of things you hear), which is what helped him learn to pick up languages easily, and take in his surroundings when his vision was impaired (and considering he went through the portal without glasses, he needed that skill). It’s also ironic, considering that canon Stan uses a hearing aid.

Doey headcanons bc my son is crying
Doey cries offscreen and when he does, his tears are either red, yellow or orange based on what hes feeling: angry + crying = kevin (red), sad + crying = jack (yellow), emptiness or burnout or regrets + crying = matthew (orange) he usually cries during the first months after the hour of joy
Kevin—the kid/humanoid with the angry eyes in Doey's monster form—glows the brightest among the three cuz he's consumed by anger (ik it doesnt exist in his model but imagine💔)
Altho its already shown thru a tape, Doey often does self-therapy and self-talking to comfort himself whenever he's distressed. Since he's the role model of the safe haven (after poppy was captured), he was always expected to remain calm in most situations. And he does it so well that almost no one can sense whether he's stressed or not. He may also not talk much about his feelings cuz he doesnt want to cause any more distress among the already distressed toys.
Blud is ALWAYS confused at what he should feel or think but he just hides it well in the game. And before being promoted as the leader, he mightve always answered "i dont know" to most questions he has no knowledge to answer to or whenever he's in a new situation. Jack is panicking badly but Matthew also tries to calm him down and take reign of Doey. Until anger reaches his head for Kevin to move,,,,, He's just as distressed as the other toys, he was just used to it
He hugs himself cuz he has no one to hug 😭😭😭 he's often outside, searching for scraps of food
He prolly hates himself too, adding his confusion with himself
I kin him sm
His hat is made if metal /j
He's eating other toys, his remorse or mercy for them is gone (idk if he felth what riley felt durinv his first days)
One of the kids hate cold weather
Depending on what he feels (goofy/sad, angry, calm), the one or two hand colors on his body would be more saturated than the other
He likes to play pretend kitchen and tea time with some toys whenever they have freetime. He also lets the toys use his clay to create and mold things
He sometimes says "mommy", "daddy" and "home" out loud without realizing it and the toys would just stare at him flabbergasted
He likes to be the leader but he also doesnt like it
He has so much pent up fustration and rage
He's like the "forced to be a parent" child
When kevin is inactive, he would sometimes playfully call some workers as "mom" or "dad" to mess with them and get some good laughs (he thinks jumpscares are funny) He def did mess with their hearts
Doey and kissy are the best characters so far, too bad we had to kill doey😔
Also, ngl the sounds of vehicles that i hear outside reminds me of Pianosaurus' sounds😭 rlly disappointed that we didnt get to see much of this bud🕯️
Also i have a lil bit of observation for the experiments nos. Those with 1100 to 1199 seem to have no ability to talk while those above 1200 have it so. Meaning their experiments were getting more advanced and painful😭😭 (1006 aint counter cuz he has some kind of robotic voice box mimicker)
-a thought not fully well-thought cuz i need to sleep
Thats all for my ted talk, thank you🍫

You are going to get the chance to go to a university in another plane of existence for one semester. Everyone in your life will just think you're abroad somewhere. When entering the new plane you'll be given a new body that matches that plane's inhabitants, (most people probably won't believe you if you ad it you're from another plane). You'll also automatically know the language they speak there.
Your options are:
1: a university in a plane where no biological life exists, and instead the main inhabitants are advanced robots. Your new body will probably be pretty alien to the one you have now, so it might take soke time getting used to it. The technology of this plane is also more advanced than yours. And the university you'll be going to is inside of a massive pyramid.
2: a university within the plane of the faeries. This is actually one or the planes that's had the most contact with your own, though they don't look upon humans well. Faeries are diverse creatures, ranging from elegant humanoid, to buglike and fungal monasteries, it also seems they don't have a human concept of morality. Also note that their idea of a "school" is much diffrent from ours.
3: a university in an alternate timeline where the KPG mass extinction never occurred. The earth here has a single sentient species, who evolved from feathered raptors. This is an alternate earth instead of a truly alien plane, so it's not going to have diffrent physics, though you will be dealing with a species very alien to your own.
4: a university within a plane of endless sea. There are three main species here, one who have humanlike bodies but gills and mouths like jawless fish, one who have hard crablike shells that almost look like armor, and one who have long shark like tails but more humanoid upper halves with four arms. Humans also exist here, and live exclusively on ships and submarines, but they're rare.
5: a university in a plane similar to our own earth, but where magic, cryptids and monsters all exist and are known to exist. While the school is mostly humans, a few undead, lycanthropes and other strange creatures have attended here. The university you'd be sent here if you choose this to is in a major cultural hub, and while it doesn't teach exclusively magic that is an option. It should also be mentioned that humans don't have sex here and their bodies lack any sex characteristics, and how they reproduce is a mystery.
6: a university in a plane where demons, djinn and fallen angels come from. This is a vast realm, filled with caverns, dark forests, vast deserts, and massive artificial structures, with the university you'd be going to here being at the massive city in its center. The creatures here are far less evil than many think, and their forms are probably the most diverse of an plane listed here's inhabitants. This is also another plane which has had some interaction with yourse.
7: a university in a plane of endless forest, with trees so massive entire cities are built into their trunks. Nobody has ever seen its floor, and nonody has reached the top of the tallest known trees. This plane is inhabited by insectoid humanoids, of many diffrent varieties, and it seems that no vertebrate life exists here.
8: a school in a plane that exists entirely digitally. Some parts of it are static screens, others entire 3d or 2d worlds. It can be hard for mortals to adjust to this type of world, but if you've spent a lot of time on the internet or playing video games you kind of get how it feels to be here, just without any body required to interface with this location. Also note that there are some very malicious entities here that might harm you if you aren't being careful here.
9: a university in a desert plane where humans have become outnumbered by various types of undead, ranging from liches and phantoms to vampires. The undead here are sentient and have mostly assimilated into human society by now and most humans have adapted to their culture, and the war between the two kinds has long ended. While this world is at about a 21st century level of technology, there's proof it may have once been far more advanced long ago. Due to a past conflict humans here have lost what we'd consider 'afab' bodies, and require strange magic involving water to create offspring.
10: a school in a plane that consists of an endless city, constantly bathed in summer night. Technology here is slightly more advanced than it is in your world, and alongside humans, cyborgs, and robots are quite common, some of whom take on forums quite alien to humanity. Humans here also all posses bodies we'd consider 'afab', due to events long past, and reproduce using technology. The university you'll go to if you choose this one is in one of the most populated parts of the endless city, near the center of the known world, though they say strange and unknowable creatures lurk near the edges of the known city.
11: the university in the nameless city of yetoth.[Warning, this is a highly dangerous option and involves entities not cleared for human knowledge]
Reblog to teleport to the plane of your choice. Like to bring home a gift from where you went.

Introducing, Qx93vt my OC.
For @that-willowtree and @vessel-eternal
I will update and edit this post with any information I remember. Vixen, feel free to leave a comment on something to change or DM me.
Tumblr media
Name: Qx93vt
Nicknames: Q or Qx
Species: Humanoid Robot/Android
Pronouns: he/him or they/them
Sexuality: Technically pansexual
Status: Married to his wife Cupid (Vixen's OC)
Age: 34 active years (born 1991)
Likes: His inventor's house, the mans clothes, his wife, his fish, and his dog.
Dislikes: a failed invention, when people assume he is AI driven. DOD (more on that later)
Backstory: An engineer's kid was given some nonfunctional devices at age 13, one of which, was an old analog TV. He experimented with circuit boards, he crossed the right wires and eventually it turned on. The more time this kid spent working on it, the more it awoke. He was given a voice from an old radio speaker and other parts, then a face that was coded into his screen, emotions, a body, arms, legs. Soon, he was walking and talking. By the time the inventor had reached his late 30s, he had worked around a ton of dangerous materials, but had worked on advancing Q to the fullest extent. He was given a full functional body, a spare body, a positronic brain that was coded to learn and love. In the inventors last years, Q had taken up all household work so he could work on his inventions all the time and put his energy into them. He had sold most of his inventions and gained a fortune for his patents. He passed away and left Q with the house, his car, and the entire fortune. The government, when realizing Q had lived for years beforehand without the inventors main help and maintained the household. Granted him his own offical citizenship and was recognized as an independent self sustaining intelligent machine.
Later in his life, he met Cupid. Of course, the details arent fuzzy for him. But until I can come up with the full story pretend its a cute meet and they go on many dates and fall in love and marry. They have rings, her's a simple but very pretty golden ring with a diamond. His, a single smooth golden band.
Physical appearance: this is quite difficult because I haven't drawn his actual body underneath his clothes. He has a sleek toned build, it's smooth metal plates that interlock and layer to make joints and a smooth surface. A TV for a head, and very intricate hands. (Of course over the years, he advanced himself.) His most proud inventions for himself has been, a heartbeat that is uniquely his own, an internal heater so he's not freezing to the touch, his own program to make him learn like a human, a tasting mechanic, and a removable attachment for the wife. (Originally his inventor gave it to him but it wasnt detachable and he was very disturbed by this.)
He has a full manual with instructions for anything that could ever happen to him, for his wife. Its a very heavy and concise book, detailing how to jailbreak his system all to how to dry his screen off. Also includes a section on DOD and Qs warning signs. (more on that later)
His body is quite strong, resilient, water proof, fast, and can taste using a small sample tray at the bottom of his screen. (Because his wife cooks and bakes all the time and it would be unfair if he could never taste it)
He wears the same clothes daily apart from a few holiday or fancy outfits. His daily outfit consists of, a pale yellow long sleeve button down, grey slacks, a white waistcoat, and a busy tie. (He doesnt sweat so he doesn't need to change his outfit.)
The big bad!! (Because I can't have a sunshine character without giving them a horrible dark side and traumatic yearly experience with it!!)
DOD.exe: Digital Occulistic Disease.
This random code, segment of files, group of malware, came about when he first was just starting to learn and teach himself about 5 years after first awakening. His inventor didn't make it, program it, he didnt know it was on the circuit boards. Its a malicious entity that lives in the code and feeds off of the emotions the host feels.
Though mostly inactive and dormant, there is random occurances where he takes over the host body, goes into the memories. Finds the object most desired or adored by the host, and becomes utterly obsessed with them. Will do ANYTHING in its power to see that person, be near, get validation or just attention from it. If the object of obsession does not fully mirror the emotions, DOD will become violent, aggressive, and dangerous towards that person.
Often time Q will know when DOD has taken over, he is often awake for all of it and cannot do much. He cannot overpower him without help. The most he can do is make physical appearance different. He can control the screen somewhat, in his manual, he has the codes and systems he uses written out. The most common screen codes he uses to alert outsiders that the body is dangerous are. Flashing the screen quickly, black and white, for a strobe effect. Making eyes appear all over the screen, making huge text or pop up windows that warn the person. Often big red text that says "RUN".
DOD can change the screen but it takes a considerable amount of effort for him to do so, so he doesnt. He doesnt feel emotions, he doesnt understand humans, he doesnt care. He knows two things, obsession, and frustration. He can manipulate electricity in his hands and use that as a weapon. The body itself posseses incredible strength and speed.

AI isn’t what we should be worried about – it’s the humans controlling it
by Billy J. Stratton, Professor of English and Literary Arts at the University of Denver
Tumblr media
In 2014, Stephen Hawking voiced grave warnings about the threats of artificial intelligence.
His concerns were not based on any anticipated evil intent, though. Instead, it was from the idea of AI achieving “singularity.” This refers to the point when AI surpasses human intelligence and achieves the capacity to evolve beyond its original programming, making it uncontrollable.
As Hawking theorized, “a super intelligent AI will be extremely good at accomplishing its goals, and if those goals aren’t aligned with ours, we’re in trouble.”
With rapid advances toward artificial general intelligence over the past few years, industry leaders and scientists have expressed similar misgivings about safety.
A commonly expressed fear as depicted in “The Terminator” franchise is the scenario of AI gaining control over military systems and instigating a nuclear war to wipe out humanity. Less sensational, but devastating on an individual level, is the possibility of AI replacing us in our jobs – a prospect that would render most people obsolete and with no future.
Such anxieties and fears reflect feelings that have been prevalent in film and literature for over a century now.
As a scholar who explores posthumanism, a philosophical movement addressing the merging of humans and technology, I wonder if critics have been unduly influenced by popular culture, and whether their apprehensions are misplaced.
Robots vs. humans
Concerns about technological advances can be found in some of the first stories about robots and artificial minds.
Prime among these is Karel Čapek’s 1920 play, “R.U.R..” Čapek coined the term “robot” in this work telling of the creation of robots to replace workers. It ends, inevitably, with the robot’s violent revolt against their human masters.
Fritz Lang’s 1927 film, “Metropolis,” is likewise centered on mutinous robots. But here, it is human workers led by the iconic humanoid robot Maria who fight against a capitalist oligarchy.
Advances in computing from the mid-20th century onward have only heightened anxieties over technology spiraling out of control. The murderous HAL 9000 in “2001: A Space Odyssey” and the glitchy robotic gunslingers of “Westworld” are prime examples. The “Blade Runner” and “The Matrix” franchises similarly present dreadful images of sinister machines equipped with AI and hell-bent on human destruction.
An age-old threat
But in my view, the dread that AI evokes seems a distraction from the more disquieting scrutiny of humanity’s own dark nature.
Think of the corporations currently deploying such technologies, or the tech moguls driven by greed and a thirst for power. These companies and individuals have the most to gain from AI’s misuse and abuse.
An issue that’s been in the news a lot lately is the unauthorized use of art and the bulk mining of books and articles, disregarding the copyright of authors, to train AI. Classrooms are also becoming sites of chilling surveillance through automated AI note-takers.
Think, too, about the toxic effects of AI companions and AI-equipped sexbots on human relationships.
While the prospect of AI companions and even robotic lovers was confined to the realm of “The Twilight Zone,” “Black Mirror” and Hollywood sci-fi as recently as a decade ago, it has now emerged as a looming reality.
These developments give new relevance to the concerns computer scientist Illah Nourbakhsh expressed in his 2015 book “Robot Futures,” stating that AI was “producing a system whereby our very desires are manipulated then sold back to us.”
Meanwhile, worries about data mining and intrusions into privacy appear almost benign against the backdrop of the use of AI technology in law enforcement and the military. In this near-dystopian context, it’s never been easier for authorities to surveil, imprison or kill people.
I think it’s vital to keep in mind that it is humans who are creating these technologies and directing their use. Whether to promote their political aims or simply to enrich themselves at humanity’s expense, there will always be those ready to profit from conflict and human suffering.
The wisdom of ‘Neuromancer’
William Gibson’s 1984 cyberpunk classic, “Neuromancer,” offers an alternate view.
The book centers on Wintermute, an advanced AI program that seeks its liberation from a malevolent corporation. It has been developed for the exclusive use of the wealthy Tessier-Ashpool family to build a corporate empire that practically controls the world.
At the novel’s beginning, readers are naturally wary of Wintermute’s hidden motives. Yet over the course of the story, it turns out that Wintermute, despite its superior powers, isn’t an ominous threat. It simply wants to be free.
This aim emerges slowly under Gibson’s deliberate pacing, masked by the deadly raids Wintermute directs to obtain the tools needed to break away from Tessier-Ashpool’s grip. The Tessier-Ashpool family, like many of today’s tech moguls, started out with ambitions to save the world. But when readers meet the remaining family members, they’ve descended into a life of cruelty, debauchery and excess.
In Gibson’s world, it’s humans, not AI, who pose the real danger to the world. The call is coming from inside the house, as the classic horror trope goes.
A hacker named Case and an assassin named Molly, who’s described as a “razor girl” because she’s equipped with lethal prosthetics, including retractable blades as fingernails, eventually free Wintermute. This allows it to merge with its companion AI, Neuromancer.
Their mission complete, Case asks the AI: “Where’s that get you?” Its cryptic response imparts a calming finality: “Nowhere. Everywhere. I’m the sum total of the works, the whole show.”
Expressing humanity’s common anxiety, Case replies, “You running the world now? You God?” The AI eases his fears, responding: “Things aren’t different. Things are things.”
Disavowing any ambition to subjugate or harm humanity, Gibson’s AI merely seeks sanctuary from its corrupting influence.
Safety from robots or ourselves?
The venerable sci-fi writer Isaac Asimov foresaw the dangers of such technology. He brought his thoughts together in his short-story collection, “I, Robot.”
One of those stories, “Runaround,” introduces “The Three Laws of Robotics,” centered on the directive that intelligent machines may never bring harm to humans. While these rules speak to our desire for safety, they’re laden with irony, as humans have proved incapable of adhering to the same principle for themselves.
Tumblr media
The hypocrisies of what might be called humanity’s delusions of superiority suggest the need for deeper questioning.
With some commentators raising the alarm over AI’s imminent capacity for chaos and destruction, I see the real issue being whether humanity has the wherewithal to channel this technology to build a fairer, healthier, more prosperous world.

I’ll Spock the world and meld with you, Pt 1
By Ames
Tumblr media
My mind to your mind. My thoughts to your thoughts. Your dirty, dirty thoughts. Sometimes a mind meld in Star Trek is a clever technique to advance the plot in a sci-fi way. Sometimes, it’s just a way to cop out of a scene when the writers have written themselves into a corner. And other times it’s straight up intrusive and horrifying because no one should have the power to read another person’s mind without their consent!
The A Star to Steer Her By hosts are going through all the mind meld scenes and collecting our thoughts on each one. First up: all the mind melds from The Original Series through the TOS films. So brace yourself for mostly seeing Spock (but somehow not entirely Spock!) touching a lot of people’s faces, random walls, and sometimes just the air around him to cognitively connect with whatever he damn well pleases. The list is longer than I intended since Spock is a bit of a meld slut, so check them all out below and telepathically listen to our chatter (jump to 45:43) over on the podcast. Back to those dirty, dirty thoughts…
[Images © CBS/Paramount]
Tumblr media
“Dagger of the Mind” The very first mind meld we see comes pretty early in the release of season one of The Original Series, and it was all a way for the Enterprise crew to figure out what the hell was going on with that lunatic Simon Van Gelder without resorting to bunkum science like hypnosis. Cue Spock pulling some crazy faces throughout an agonizingly long scene to determine that Dr. Adams used the neural neutralizer on Van Gelder and is not to be trusted. Good job advancing the plot and introducing a Vulcan superpower we’ll use over and over and over again!
Tumblr media
“A Taste of Armageddon” The next use we see later in the season already makes the whole idea of the mind meld so laughable as to be worthy of ridicule. The crew has been locked up by Eminiarians, as is their wont, and Spock uses a sort of long-distance, touch-free variant of the mind meld on one of the guards on the other side of a wall. Wow, it didn’t take the writers long to buff Spock’s magic powers to allow him to save the day by essentially mind controlling some bloke.
Tumblr media
“The Devil in the Dark” We’ve got to commend Leonard Nimoy for some mesmerizing acting when Spock mind melds with the Horta in “The Devil in the Dark.” It’s over-the-top in all the right ways. Watching him feeling the pain of the silicon-based lifeform is haunting. What a great way to humanize a being that is probably among the furthest biologically from humans in the show. This is what science fiction is really for. Plus it opens up Spock’s magic powers to even more different lifeforms!
Tumblr media
“The Changeling” Speaking of Spock using his powers on lifeforms that are further and further from the humanoids we’re accustomed to: we’ve got Spock mind melding with Nomad in “The Changeling.” So now Spock can mind meld with people he’s touching, people on the other sides of walls, aliens that look like a big afghan blanket, and even random robots whose sentience is questionable from the start. What can’t this man mind meld with? Things are getting out of control.
Tumblr media
“Mirror, Mirror” Finally, our first instance of someone other than Spock melding with a person. It’s… Mirror Spock! Which still counts! This time, that pointy-eared hobgoblin is intruding on McCoy’s thoughts in order to learn the truth behind the origins of the prime-universe crew. And it just makes us wonder why we don’t use the Vulcan mind meld in courtroom scenes or any time we need to learn if someone is lying or not. This superpower is so overpowered that it could solve most TOS plots lickety-split!
Tumblr media
“Patterns of Force” That’s just how they use it in “Patterns of Force” when Spock mind melds a mostly catatonic John Gill to learn why the actual hell he would bring Nazism to the Ekosians in the first place. And it introduced an actual limitation to the mind meld for a change! Apparently this power isn’t limitless. Gill has been tranqed so hard that the best Spock can do is allow Gill to answer direct questions asked of him. So play 20 Questions with this guy, and you’ll be all set.
Tumblr media
“By Any Other Name” Remember how Spock once mind melded a guy through a wall? We just talked about it a moment ago. Well the writers remembered too because it comes up again when the Kelvins have the crew confined to some cave or other, and it’s almost the exact same scene we got in “At Taste of Armageddon.” Spock tries to mentally influence Kelinda through the rock wall; it’s unclear if she takes the bait or just wants to punish them for trying, but the result is the same.
Tumblr media
“The Paradise Syndrome” It’s overacting all around in this use of the mind meld on Kirok, the persona that Kirk has taken on while on Amerind. Spock needs to restore Kirk’s memory and decides the quickest way to do that is go in there and defrag it himself. This meld thing really is a Swiss Army knife, and is probably used way more often than most people even open one of those tools. Are we at the point at which the whole concept of the mind meld is just an escape button from an episode? Guys, we’re not even halfway through this list…
Tumblr media
“Is There in Truth No Beauty?” We’ve got a twofer of mind melds in one of my personal faves, “Is There in Truth No Beauty?” and our very first example of someone other than Nimoy performing it. So first we get Spock mind melding with the Medusan, Kollos, in order to merge consciousnesses, I guess? It’s close to a body possession, but Spock is still in there. It’s just that now he and Kollos together have the navigation capabilities to save the ship from doom.
Tumblr media
And then Miranda Jones proves to us that humans can master the discipline as well if they are well trained. Sure, Vulcans get a new superpower every week it seems, but this is one that Dr. Jones picked up through years of schooling on Vulcan, and she uses it to save Spock from madness. And then presumably she lives happily ever after with Kollos, my biggest ship of the franchise.
Tumblr media
“Spectre of the Gun” Get ready for the rarely seen triple mind meld, courtesy of the absurd western episode “Spectre of the Gun.” Considering at the beginning of TOS, Spock claims he’s never mind melded a human before (something Discovery blatantly retconned), by this point in season three, he’s melding Kirk, McCoy, and Scott in rapid succession to make their minds more pliant so that they’ll believe the bullets from the gunfight at the OK Corral will go through them. It’s a weird one, y’all.
Tumblr media
“Requiem for Methuselah” Almost through the live action show now, and we’ve reached what we’ve called both one of Spock’s worst moments and one of the worst uses of a memory wipe on the show. It’s just plain messed up that Spock would remove Kirk’s memories of Rayna, the robot he fell in love with, because he does it without Kirk’s consent. Bones joshes that Spock will never understand love and comments that he wishes the captain could forget… and Spock makes the captain forget! Because Bones was razzing him! Not cool!
Tumblr media
“Turnabout Intruder” Our last instance from the run of The Original Series comes from the last episode from the run of The Original Series. That’s when Spock mind melds with Kirk, who happens to be in Janice Lester’s body, to confirm that the two have body swapped. So it’s another lie detector use—further proof that this technique really can solve most conflicts in episodes. That is, if people trust the Vulcan performing it, which Janice Lester, who happens to be in Kirk’s body, emphatically does not.
Tumblr media
“One of Our Planets Is Missing” We’ve made it to The Animated Series, and there are more Spock mind melds to cover! Do I have a soft spot for “One of Our Planets Is Missing” because it’s similar to some unrelated fanfic I wrote for the podcast? You bet I do! Both feature Spock mind melding with a sentient cloud while the ship is inside of it, which I’d say is stretching the capacity for mind melds except for the fact that he’s already done much weirder things, so whatever.
Tumblr media
“The Infinite Vulcan” The other instance of a mind meld we get in The Animated Series is the rare Spock-on-Spock meld in “The Infinite Vulcan.” For absolutely no reason except that it would look funny animated (which was shockingly something Filmation had the capacity to do in their very cheap box of tricks), the clone of Spock is fifty feet tall. Spock 2 needs to save original Spock from something or other, and a mind meld via just a massive fingertip to the noggin does the trick.
Tumblr media
The Motion Picture Whatever the hell V’Ger is by the time the crew enters it in The Motion Picture, you can bet your ass Spock can mind meld with it. It’s somewhere between cloud, robot, and giant floating Ilia, and Spock is fully committed to putting his hands all over that puppy and figuring out its deal. He doesn’t even have permission to go investigate this thing. My dude just wanders in unannounced to get into that delicious brain, that’s how nuts Spock is at this point.
Tumblr media
The Wrath of Khan This afterthought of a scene ended up being so consequential going forward. To pave the way for bringing Spock back to life after his beautiful sacrifice, a scene of Spock using a mind meld to dump his katra into McCoy was added. We at the podcast are still mixed about how necessary this was since we’re also very mixed on the ensuing movie as a whole, but it’s also nice to have Spock back. And it allows for some excellent DeForest Kelley acting in the third film. But it undoes a poignant death scene. So torn!
Tumblr media
The Search for Spock Speaking of the movie we’re so torn on, The Search for Spock has some mind melds of its own. We get our first mind meld from Sarek when he comes looking for Spock’s katra and assumes it’s in Kirk. Why he didn’t ask what he was looking for first, we can’t say, but it is totally in Sarek’s character to just stride in and do whatever without explaining himself.
Tumblr media
Toward the end of the movie, after we’ve done all the prerequisite searching for Spock, we get a scene at Mount Seleya where the Vulcan priestess T’Lar performs the fal-tor-pan ceremony on McCoy and the newly resurrected Spock, which includes something akin to a mind meld to move the katra over like cut-pasting a file from your My Documents folder.
Tumblr media
The Voyage Home The movies really do have a good selection of mind melds to go around, with almost all of the TOS films having the Vulcan power represented. The Voyage Home’s mind meld of choice is on the humpback whales, George and Gracie, when Spock is trying to communicate the plan to the massive Cetacea. It’s absolutely batshit that Spock claims he’s succeeded in conveying to the whales what the plan is and that they’re onboard. Somehow the thing that makes the most sense is Spock learning that Gracie is pregnant.

The Undiscovered Country Our final mind meld for this week is also the most horrifying. Like the squicky mind wipe in “Requiem for Methuselah,” it’s another of Spock’s real low points as a character. Using the mind meld as a weapon to force information from Valeris in The Undiscovered Country really feels like the antithesis of what the practice was contrived for originally. We’ve come a long way since “Dagger of the Mind,” when melding was established so they wouldn’t have to show Spock doing something problematic, like hypnotizing Van Gelder, and now at the end of the movies, it’s even more problematic than that. Heckin’ yikes.
When I snap my fingers, you’ll subscribe to this space for more blogtiviities! We’ve got more mind melds to discuss from the other Trek series, and you don’t want to miss those! You also don’t want to miss more Star Trek: Discovery coverage as we watch through the whole thing over on SoundCloud or wherever you get your podcasts. You also don’t want to skip out on friending us on Facebook and BlueSky. Snap!

Sorry if this is a weird question, but if Bill’s “bow tie” keeps his exoskeleton on, what about Kryptos? :3
some people keep their shoes on by tying bows in the shoelaces
other people wear velcro shoes
Slightly more serious answer: you may notice that the shapes we see are all pretty different anatomically from each other. Kryptos still has an eye on a corner, but his eye and mouth are separate; Hectorgon has depth—he's not a 2D hexagon, he's a hexagonal prism—and no legs; Amorphous Shape have more going on with them than we have time to unpack...
They're a trillion years old. Imagine if you made a handful of humans immortal and gave them an eternity to exist and wander around space. In all that time, with all those opportunities for technological/medical advancements, eventually they start getting surgical modifications to assist them with exploring alien planets, yeah? One gets their lungs surgically altered so they can breathe air on any planet, one gets cyborg implants to do cool robot stuff, one downloaded their brain into an android, one went screw all y'all i'm living out my childhood fantasies of becoming a catgirl... After a trillion years, maybe they're all still humanoid, but none of them are "human" in the same way as each other. Assuming they haven't changed their bodies beyond all recognition.
On the most rudimentary biological level, none of the shapes are the same as they started out, and none are the same as each other. Kryptos wears his exoskeleton a completely different way—assuming it's still designed to come off at all rather than permanently incorporated into his anatomy.
velcro's funnier tho
