💭 + family for v

oof this is going to be a fun one. family and v is a very complicated topic. v had already lost her family when they chose to get absorbed into snake nation, and she turned her back on them because she didn't agree with their decision. she would rather be an outcast than be apart of something she didn't want. of course she met her own found family with jackie and mama welles along the way. but of course, that was ripped from her too. jackie was killed in the heist and she cant look mama welles in the eye because of it. then, vik, misty, panam, judy, johnny , kerry, river, rogue, etc came into the picture. they are the only consistent people in her life who she would consider family. but family is a very touchy word for her because honestly shes terrified of having a family. family has been nothing but death and betrayal for her. in any case as well, i dont know if v would ever want kids because of her impending death and how fucking atrocious the world is. maybe if she left night city and didn't look back, and they found a cure for the damage that has been done to her brain, maybe she would. i just dont think she would ever be able to give up being a merc or being associated to it. if she calls you family, she truly means it. she would go to the ends of the earth, hell and back, to the moon and stars for you if it meant keeping you safe and around.

Big fan of when a character's grief/trauma/guilt manifests as physical symptoms. Big fan of characters keeping things so tight inside them that it makes them sick. Big fan of when the line blurs between a character's mental trauma and physical illness until it's hard to tell which is which anymore.
