I watched Fight Club last night. If you’re looking for a fantastic yaoi with a solid plotline and psychological thriller elements, I can’t recommend it enough.

Blue sunglasses

So after learning this year about blue glasses repeatedly co-existing with reduced photosensitive reactions, I have caved in and bought a cheap pair of blue sunglasses.

They were labelled to filter UV Light and are one of those dark blue reflective sunglasses that are often to be found "for men".

I didn't buy them for aesthetics. My experience so far has been positive, they are easily the sunglasses i prefer wearing when out in the sun, in car rides they filter the intensity of sun immensely! I did not think it could make such a difference but I can keep my eyes open a lot more than usual in intense sunlight.

I havent tried them for movie watching yet, but just alone based on the reduced flickering in my environment with them I can definitely recommmend owning a pair if you are light sensitive in any way.

I am definitely going to look into getting something more stylish along the way and maybe even a version with proper lenses so I can also actually have full vision with them!

hello, i recently found ur blog and now u r my fav blog of all time. your tags r hilarious and u have really good taste in dramas. since you seem to like crime dramas w/ lgbt characters, i would like to recommmend 'Long Time No See'. it is a p short k-drama, only 1 hr 30 min long (i think), but it is quite good in my opnion. the plot is about a hitman who falls in love with a civilian. and since you loved the gifted and the commentary on the state of the school education, you'll probably like 'Bad Genius' it is another thai drama about the corruption in schools and it was just as stressful as the gifted for me. Acc to mydramalist, it is 'a reflection of the cheating that happens at every level in Thai society'. there is a movie and a drama. i personally preferred the movie but the ending of the series is relatively better than the movie, watch whichever you want. i hope you'll like it <3

thank you for the recs as well -- i decided to check out Long Time No See after i saw your message and it's definitely right up my alley with the gay mafia stuff! 😍 i'm 3 episodes in right now. i love how the hitman is actually kind of a dork - like, that is so refreshing and different from what i expected. i was laughing out loud during the scene where they make out for the first time, and my dude literally falls off the couch because he's trying to get his shirt off too fast. they were both such impatient disasters 😂

and omg Bad Genius!!! i have seen the movie, but i haven't watched the show yet. i definitely intend to though because the movie is such a fun thriller! if the show has any of those vibes, i'm sure i'll like it too 💕

I just watched CODA and I have a lot of feelings.

I’ve been holding off watching it, because I keep waiting for my cable plan to include Apple TV (which has been “in the works” for a couple months), but I got tired of waiting...especially after it won SAG Ensemble and the HCA Best Picture Award.

This movie is amazing. 

The story of a CODA (child of deaf adults), who acts as an interpreter for her family discovers how much she loves singing and wants to pursue music at college.

As someone who is a singer, there were a lot of moments that really got to me...I totally related to Ruby when she was scared to sing in front of other people, sing that was me in high school...I would know all the words/melodies for solo auditions, but was too nervous to look up from the page and so I never got any.  Also one of the reasons why I wasn’t cast in any shows until my junior year...but anyway.

There is one scene that had me legit sobbing.  I was crying so hard I nearly had to pause the movie...it hit me right smack in the middle of my heart and I was just so moved...seriously, nearly hit pause because I couldn’t see through my tears (and in a movie where more than half the dialogue is in ASL, seeing the screen is important).

I really want Troy Kotsur to win Best Supporting Actor.  His performance is absolutely incredible, and I’m so happy that he won the SAG Award on Sunday.

HIGHLY RECOMMMEND THIS MOVIE.
