Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream Recipe

Ingredients

For the Hot Cocoa:

2 cups milk

½ cup heavy cream

¼ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

¼ cup water

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

For the Whipped Cream:

1 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Prepare the Hot Cocoa:

In a medium saucepan, combine the water and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat until the mixture starts to simmer, stirring frequently.

Add the cocoa powder and continue to stir until fully dissolved and smooth.

Gradually whisk in the milk and heat until the mixture is hot but not boiling.

Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Remove from heat and set aside.

Prepare the Whipped Cream:

In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.

Using an electric mixer, beat the cream mixture until stiff peaks form.

Serve the Hot Cocoa:

Pour the hot cocoa into mugs.

Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream.

Optionally, sprinkle with cocoa powder or chocolate shavings for a finishing touch.

Enjoy this rich and comforting hot cocoa, perfectly complemented by a cloud of sweet, fluffy whipped cream!
