Tease Tidbit Tuesday

I am in a very generous mood today, so for this tidbit Tuesday I am sharing several teases from different wips. Enjoy!

NFL Buck: Athena hits the intercom above the code box, taking note of cameras that swivel slightly towards her way. A deep voice seeped with weariness comes through the speaker, "What can I do for you officer?"

In the back seat of her cruiser, Eddie immediately perks up and cries out, "Buck! She arrested me and I don't like it and I swear those tiny humans put her up to it! But I didn't do it! I swear!"

4+1 Buck is too nice: Eddie is actually contemplating stealing Bobby's nice knife set away from the firehouse. Stolen knives for Eddie's stolen boyfriend. Seems fair. Sort of.

When in reality Eddie more than understands. Athena is working, Bobby is covering for Captain Royce, and trying to get any sort of non-familiar (free) transportation from LAX was a disservice to May.

Kidnapped Mpreg Buck: Eddie grips his tiny newborn daughter tight to his chest. Its too quiet. Buck is silent, no longer screaming in agony. Their baby has gone quiet after her first cries. Doug will never make a sound again, lying dead by the fireplace. He can barely hear Hen muttering under her breath, pumping her fist hard over Buck's chest. Chimney hasn't said a word since announcing the loss of Buck's heart beat, frantically working to try and stop the omega from bleeding out. And Maddie...is slumped against the wall near the bed where her brother lays dying, covered in blood from Doug, herself, and Buck. Catatonic. Quiet. Too quiet.

Parental Chimney w/ Teen Buddie: Chimney does a double take when he see's Eddie standing just a step inside the bay doors. The older teen is wringing his hands together, looking nervous and very lost.

Tapping Hen on the shoulder, he motions towards the kid and Hen nods in understanding. "Yell if you need back-up." She jokes somewhat serious.

Chimney rolls his eyes, "Doubt he's here to cause harm."

Hen shrugs, "Your new to this parenting thing, and so am I, so asking for help won't hurt." She glances over to Eddie, "Just don't be too hard on him. From my understanding, kids been through enough and losing Buck must feel like rock bottom."

Return of sperm donor kid: “Carson, Connor is your dad, okay?  I just-well-um” Buck was floundering to find the right way to explain to a beginning 5th grader how sperm donation works. 

“He’s not my dad! I heard my mom say so!” Connor shouted, anger and frustration starting to take over.

Buck raised his hands up in gentle defense, “Okay. Okay.  Let’s just,” He sighs in frustration, looking upwards.  Buck didn’t really pray, but he did believe in the universe and Eddie would be his entire paycheck that he was cursing it right now. “I’m calling your parents.”

Carson opened his mouth to object, but Buck immediately cut him off, “I am calling your parents, and that includes your dad, the same man who has fed you, clothed you, LOVED you since the day you were born. I am calling them and then we are all going to sit down and talk. Understand?”

Hey multiple WIP babes, I have some questions.

Do you focus on one before you start another?

If not, how do you balance them out?

Do you write to that project you got inspo for or you strictly focus on one, and just jot down the ideas when they strike for the others?

If your focus diverted from one WIP, how do you lure back to it?

Please go off, I’m curious.

20. Do you work on a single project or many at the same time? How does that work for you?

This is so thoughtful. Thank you dear!

I always have more than one project on the burner at a time. xD This is usually a combo of fic and art. I have discovered this is helpful for me because if I have writer's block on one project, often working on another helps to both further that fic and make the the other project jealous so it gets more ideas. ;D

It's quite fabulous how ideas will pop into my head for the other stories while working on one of them. I can always pause and write those ideas down before I resume work on the current story.

And I have also realized---sometimes if all writing feels bleh, it's time to work on an art project. xD Get my brain into a very different mode, not to mention my hands. As I'm usually illustrating my stories, it's a joy to look at my characters' faces and draw inspiration from them for the writing.

I accidentally found an old manuscript/notes on my external hard drive that I'd completely forgotten. An AI-driven science fiction suspense called, STEEPLECHASE. Horses, riders, competition, illusions, reality, and a bit of Groundhog Day. What's real and what isn't?

hi! so I know you probably aren't on this site much anymore (if at all) but I gotta let you know... that fic you posted on ao3, "fine lines", IT KICKED MY ASS AND I NEED TO KNOW HOW IT ENDS BECAUSE IT KIIIIILLLLLLLED ME!! again, not necessarily expecting you to see this or even respond, but like... I had to let you know. I love that fic and if you would ever consider adding another chapter, I'd be over the moon!!

I love anyone who loves Fine Lines. That's my passion project. That's my baby. I don't intend for it to ever end. As long as I've got the ability and desire, I'm going to keep adding to it for as long as possible.

I'm about 2/3rds of the way through Chapter 3, but the combination of work, life, social obligations, family obligations, and worse than usual health has stolen most of my writing time (and I'm a notoriously slow writer to begin with). But rest assured, more is coming! And this next chapter is spicy.

But then, Chapter 4 might be even spicier... especially if you're an Edge fan.

writer with multiple wips' issue

This summer was the most productive I've ever been in years (in terms of writing). I first-drafted a 90k-word fantasy novel, wrote a 24k-word fanfic and first-drafted a 30k-word novella.

But now my issue is that I am first-drafting another fanfic (70k words) and editing the novella but my head is FILLED with the characters of my fantasy novel.........

(ID in ALT text) i know technically this can't be considered a wip. but it is wip to me because to this day i can't still pick ONE to post and i keep going back and forth.. and so it got doomed to stay in my folders just like this?

two whole years after the finale of The Owl House, and I'm still thinking about Raine getting possessed, because, like. here's the thing. canonically, they're extremely fucking good at resisting it. just like they were clever and stubborn enough to avoid mind-control by Terra, they were also stubborn and powerful enough to really give Belos a fight, enough for him to even comment on it. but the other thing we know about Raine resisting possession, besides them just being good at it — we also know they're also incredibly self-destructive about it. in order to trick Terra, they completely sabotage their relationship with Eda, out of a desire to keep her safe but far away — and with Belos, they smash their viola, just to try to keep Belos from reaching the Titan's heart. they're a self-destructive, self-sacrificing person in general, when it comes down to what they perceive as the greater good — before they learned Eda had kids, they were willing to give their life to take out Darius and Eberwolf (whom they didn't even know were on their side).

but. despite all this, the thing is. Raine's only good at resisting possession when they're at full power. not when they're a puppet. and at first, Belos is possessing them because they're a puppet, and an easy target. Raine knows that Belos's goal is the Titan's heart, so they might even be partially conscious when Belos uses them to talk to the Collector — just unable to fight back, and forced to watch Belos use their voice, use their voice to manipulate a child. definitely, unmistakably a child, from the perspective that they have now.

so, if Raine hadn't been a puppet — well, they would've fought back, of course they would have — but, like always, how self-destructive would their resistance have been? what would they have been willing to do to their own body, just to hurt Belos, too? would they have tried to get the Collector to strike both them and Belos down, both at once? was being a puppet a twist of fate that actually saved Raine's life — from their own willingness to sacrifice themself? the tragedy of surviving, but only at the cost to their own autonomy? after Belos is dead, do think Raine thinks about that, ever? are they relieved? are they guilty? do they break down to Eda about it, or do they keep it buried, because they know Eda's dealt with her own suicidal ideation, too? does Raine ever find out how Hunter got possessed, too, and tried to take himself down with Belos, too? does Raine ever find out that Luz died, even if temporarily, because Belos was able to get to the Titan's heart? Luz, one of the very kids that Raine had tried to protect, and convinced Eda to stay alive for — dying to protect the Collector, who'd been manipulated by Raine's own voice and face? absolutely devastating survivor's guilt on Raine's part, I'm sure. that's my diagnosis.

I get asked this by my family so much lol

I’m currently on the 11th chapter of one of my wips and I’m writing a scene I’ve been planning for a while!!! It’s really fun and I hope I execute it the way I want :))

Then I’m on the 8th chapter of my other wip (I write both of them simultaneously shut up) and it’s going so well!!!! This is one of my favourite characters I’ve written for this wip and I’m just so proud of it!
