💞 OC x canon
Tumblr media
no but oc x canon is unironically the foundation and backbone of nearly every single fandom ever. i have roleplayed with far more ocs than i have ever roleplayed with other canons, and i adore them to bits (@rinnahtheskinchanger @arkhamcalamity @elisethetraveller @noetic-noesis-noein @the-arkham-librarian JUST TO NAME A FEW!!!!) and yes your honor i ship ocs with crane. i love ocs to death and i also love shipping to death, so it just makes sense.

I may be alone in this opinion, but it bothers me when people draw Azul fat?
Like, I'm pretty sure his whole chapter was about him trying to hide all of his "chubby kid" photos?
So to me, maybe I'm reading into it too much, it seems like he would have put work into trimming down and being more of a slim figure.
So turning around and making him fat seems like and insult to the work he would have put in to lose that baby fat?
I understand why people do it. Ursula was a big, flashy boisterous woman. Not ashamed of her body and flaunting it. Ita great for positivity.
But you can't just ignore thw work someone puts in to slim down either?
To me it seems Azul wanted to be thinner and did that for himself and should be respected for his choice and work.
Finally
I AM AWARE HES A FICTIONAL CHARACTER
You're allowed to interpret him how you want
Heavy or not
Its just not one I personally agree with, and felt like expressing my opinion on.

What do you think of Drake from the DuckTales (2017) canon?
{ I mean...considering I rp / ship hard with Drake/DWD from DT17, he’s ai’ght.
Tumblr media
Seriously...He was one of the few “updated with a twist” tweaks I actually enjoyed in the series, and an actual creative way of introducing him as the “new” DWD. Personally, I think where the writers and F R A N K did him ( and Jim Starling ) a dirty was not expanding on anything of meaning, and just cutting to a ‘voila!’ Gos is adopted offscreen by Drake, and Jim’s just left to skulk in the sewers as King Rat now...I mean, it’s kindergarten writing 101: don’t introduce something potentially meant for expansion if you’re just going to drop it and pretend you never introduced it in the first place. The writers on DT17 are some the most narcissistic idiots I ever did see.
But hey, at least they spent big bucks with some meaningless filler eps involving Lena’s stupid mary sue “witchy girl” arc and a whole waste of space ep on the moonlanders “adapting” to earth. Nah, no. We just couldn’t actually work on developing the canon characters we introduced. *SARCASM*
Anyway Chris did a fab job matching Jim Cumming’s 90s voice while still making it his role. Not an easy task, showing how talented Chris as a VA really is. }

Do you think Danny can take Superman in a fight?
Personally, I love stories with OP's Main characters. I love it when he shows up as the ghost king. The idea of Danny, with his ever-growing powers, can be very OP, but when it comes down to it, Superman would realistically win.
Not only because he had his powers longer, but Superman also had actual training—not as excellent as Batman or Wonder Woman. Even if he isn't the Superman with the Justice League, Clark has trained in his fortress using the tech his father put in there (I'm not the best comic book lore. Most of my DC comes from shows), and I've seen him train against robots.
Danny is known for throwing a good punch and outlasting his opponents, but he is often easily overwhelmed by his enemies when they first meet. This could be due to the show being only a few months after he gained his powers, so it makes sense he struggles with them.
That being said, Superman usually already has years of his powers—since Clark tends to be in his late twenties when he debuts as Superman—so he would easily overwhelm Danny.
It's all about experience. Danny could eventually catch up to Clark, but he would need to fight against him often or outsmart Clark to win. Danny is clever and quick on his feet, and so is Clark, so they would be evenly matched in a game of wits.
Danny would lose, but he put up one hell of a fight against Superman at age fourteen, and that's something to be impressed by.

Listen, I'm just gonna offer the best gpose tip anyone has ever told me...
If the clipping is happening out of view
Then clipping doesn't exist.
This is the same for crunchy limbs, crunchy elbows, weirdly posed cloth, etc.
Clipping happens. Clipping in gpose is an unavoidable thing. The sooner you accept clipping happens, the happier you will be trying to gpose.
Yes I know it's not easy to accept. Esp if you're very hard-wired to correct any errors, or if you're a perfectionist (like me).
But I promise you, eventually you just stop caring about it.
And if you point it out, or any flaws on someone's gpose when you were not explicitly asked for constructive critique, on someone's gpose I hope both sides of your pillow are warm and that you stub your toe on something different every time you get up so you can never avoid it.

Just saw Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes today, and oh boy I have thoughts on this guy.
An ambitious jackass twisting Caesar's words for his own purposes is one thing. Said jackass being one of the smartest characters in the film and somehow being a good dark mirror to Caesar is another. He's charismatic as hell which is pretty evident by how much some of his major followers love him, and he knows more about the past of both humanity and ape-kind than any other ape in the film, and its clear that he's been reading up on human history enough to have a slight fondness of them (or more accurately a fondness of their evolution and tech). He's got a couple of elements of what Caesar had, except for one key thing called selflessness. Sure Caesar wasn't some pure shining beacon, especially since he's vulnerable to some very natural emotions like anger, but he always tried doing what was best for his fellow apes in the end, and still saw some value in life. Meanwhile Proximus is fully willing to have his fellow apes enslaved or killed and has no problems offing humans either in order to achieve what he wants, in order to acquire the knowledge he believes he deserves, and rule over his people like a king.
This movie may be weak compared to Rise, Dawn, and War, but Proximus was a solid villain that I wish we got one more scene out of.

I was curious i stumbled upon your blog from seeing your fic the 03 crossover on ao3. I do remember seeing the art on here. Since he’s my personal fav i wanted to ask. What’s your opinion on Raph? I mean for both iterations ROTMNT and 03.
Yes I post CDK on both here and AO3 8’D
And oh boy, buckle up kiddo I have a lot of opinions on dear Raphie *cracks fingers*
(jk it's actually not that long even under the cut X'D)
TLDR:
2003 Raph: Summed up Raph is home, safety, and warmth wrapped in an awkward bubble that doesn’t word well but will absolutely fight for those who deserve it.
Rise Raph: An adorable puppy that I look up to when it comes to dealing with people and selflessness for the sake of others, and I would adopt him in a heartbeat and smother him with plushies because he's such a good boy.
More in depth thoughts in a scrambled mess below the cut.
First, since he’s older
2003 Raph:
I first watched TMNT 2003 when I was a youngish teenager I think, and I will fully admit I was a little afraid of Raph at that time 8’D I have a really bad tolerance towards anger, I get freaked out easily and afraid I’ll get hurt or yelled at even if I didn’t do anything wrong. So having Raph portrayed heavily as “the angry one” made it hard for me to get attached to him. BUT, after growing up and watching 2003 just before starting CDK I have gotten soooo attached to Raph. This guy is not “angry” all the time, he’s open, honest, and passionate. This guy is the reason the others get out of the house. He’s the reason the others live and get into the fun times. And while Mikey certainly helps with being the life of the party, Raph is also the shield of everyone who deserves it. This guy is the most dad/big bro out of the four, and while Don could probably take care of a kid the best based on technicalities, Raph is the one that would keep them safe. Raph is home. Raph is the safety net that keeps the family warm. Because while Don is the heart of the group and we know they fall apart without him, Don wouldn’t have a voice without Raph because Don is too soft to fight back when Raph will. Donnie is still my all time favorite of the TMNT 2003 boys, but just barely. If Don is 100/100 on the favorite meter, then Raph is 99/100. He kicked Leo out of the second favorite spot for me on my recent watch.
Rise Raph:My first exposure to Rise Raph was my sister sending me the scene of Raphie crying over not being able to figure out how to help his family after they’d just lost Karai, and I have to admit the only thing I thought was “oh that’s nice, Raph actually cries in this one”. And then I actually watched the show (because sis insisted I watch the movie and I knew I needed context to fully enjoy it) and omg the Rise bros (and April) have the unique case of all being just about equal in my favorites tier. But specifically about Rise Raph this boy is a puppy and also I would adopt him and his family in a heartbeat because he’s also the sweetest lil guy and so good at watching out for others without being smothering. And just like 2003 Raph, Rise Raph is the protector of the family. Not because he happens to be the biggest and therefore the tank class, but because he wants to. I think he finds comfort in others being safe - feeling safe- and having fun. He thrives off taking care of others even though he’s not perfect at it. But him not being perfect, not making the most amazing meals, not being prim and proper, maybe getting a little dirty and bending a few rules, is what makes him charming. He’s not “attempt at being the perfect parent” 2003 Leo, he’s big brother Raphie that will cuddle with you in a mound of soft teddy bears, or throw you across the room in a roughhouse depending on what you need. Sure Leo really knows how to annoy the crap out of him, but I don’t think it’s because Raph thinks Leo is irresponsible or a bad kid. It’s much more infuriating to know that someone can be amazing, but seeing them chose not to, and you don’t know how to help them see they can be so much more than they are. And it’s easy to see that regardless of any of his siblings being annoying there’s nothing they can do that will make him hesitate even slightly in helping them when they need it. I don’t think Raph became a parent to the others like some of the fandom does. I think he’s just an adorable, soft, warm teddy bear big brother that did really well in his part of the whole family keeping each other afloat.
If I had 03 Raph as my uncle and Rise Raph as my brother I would be a lot more outspoken and rather reckless because I would have the upmost confidence that they would have my back and would keep me safe.

Hiii this is more for mod rather than spidey but how would I go about starting an rp account? I really wanna get into it but I don’t know if it’ll go okay or if I’ll be able to rp someone that isn’t already taken, etc.
xx C
(Also I love your blog, I just found it and I’ve been scrolling through it lol ❤️)
Hello!! August/Mun here!! Lemme help you out
Starting a RP blog 101
1. Setting it up
So, you want to make an RP blog... Well, you've come to the right place!
To start off, you need to decide between opening up a side blog or making an entirely new account! If you make a side blog, you have complete and quick access to both your main account and other side blogs with a click of your finger, but you won't be able to send asks or like posts from your RP account. Instead, you would like things with your main account and send anon asks with a sign-off ( i.e. - @respect-the-hyphen ). As for a different account, you get access to both of those things, but it would take longer for you to switch between your main and RP. Personally, I made a side blog since I run many, many blogs and would like to quickly sift between all of them. This is entirely up to you, though!
Now, let's talk about setting the stage for your RP escapades. Your username should reflect the essence of your character or the theme of your RP universe. I personally chose respect-the-hyphen because I adore how pressed comic Peter gets over this. Your title should also reflect your blog, and you description can be anything from literally nothing to a long introduction. Your profile picture and banner should be eye-catching and give visitors a taste of what to expect from your RP. Think of them as the opening credits to your RP story.
As for your inquiry about choosing someone not taken, don't worry about that. No one cares if you become someone already taken; there's always room for interpretation and creativity. Just be yourself and have fun exploring the character's personality!
2. Getting out there
When you're ready to dive into RPing, consider creating an introduction post. This can include a brief bio of your character, their motivations, and what kind of interactions you're looking for. It's a great way to signal to other RPers that you're open for business! This is your chance to showcase your creativity and set the stage for epic storytelling.
After that, start interacting with other RPers by liking, reblogging, and commenting on their posts. Plus, make sure to add a few posts of your own into your arsenal. I set up a queue to post twice a day at prime time. When you start getting asks, I recommend answering a few every day or so and sticking them into queue so you have content for a while if you get busy. Queues are very, very useful
I promise it'll go alright. There are no rules for RPing. Just be creative and be you. Headcanons, original characters, and more are all welcome.
Remember, RPing is all about collaboration and storytelling. Have fun exploring your character's personality, engaging in interactions with other characters, and building memorable storylines. And most importantly, don't be afraid to be yourself and let your creativity shine!
Hope this helps!!! Happy RPing!!!!!
Also awww I'm glad you like it <33

What's your favorite trope?
I have a lot. In no particular order I tend to look for/write for fics with these things
1. Time travel. (Peggy sues are my favorite)
2. Crack Taken Seriously (The fics under this tag are always some of the best ligature)
3. Alternate Universe/ Dimension Travel (I adore how writers can world build with these)
4. Misunderstanding (not to be confused with miscommunication because that one frustrates me that they refuse to talk it out for drama. But when characters are on two different pages and dont talk for comedy?? Hilarious.)
5. Friends to lovers. (This is just fluffy and I love it. Any form of friendship thaf develops into love like childhood friends to best friends. Just them being buddies)
6. Mutual Pinning (I adore when other characters can tell or even the reader can tell that the two idiots love each other. It's fluffy, and I adore fluff.)

Opinions on Sephiroth in this new trilogy so far?
So far... He's good.
Now don't get me wrong, in Part 1 he was... let's just get it out of the way, he wasn't in his prime. Man was oversaturated as hell, had some other clunky writing problems, and didn't do much, aside from get his mom, kill President Shinra, and gain control of the Whispers, so he kinda felt like eye candy rather than anything super promising. However I always kinda felt like this early installment of this newer Sephiroth felt like the team behind the game were testing to see what they could do with him in the future, and I'll admit there were two moments that I enjoyed from this take on Sephiroth in that earlier installment, his introduction in the first hour of the game, and the onscreen death of President Shinra via his blade. Those scenes, at the time, were Remake!Sephiroth's best moments IMO, so I saw some level of promise when it came to a familiar-yet vastly different Sephiroth. Not enough to get me super hyped, but enough for me to hope that there are improvements.
Then we got a remaster of Crisis Core, and Ever Crisis, both set in this new continuity, but mainly just being there as side-stories to give insight on this newer take on the character by taking his background in the OG and expanding upon it. Still if Sephiroth was going to be good in Rebirth, the team behind this trilogy had to clean up their act quick.
Boy did Rebirth answer my prayers by just taking out the clutter, minimizing his screen time yet give him a LOT of activity to increase his presence, making the Nibelheim section the opening of the game, taking influence from Crisis Core and Advent Children, and just making Sephiroth horrifying again. Also his new voice actor, Tyler Hoechlin improved a lot since part 1, which honestly helped a lot.
So despite his clunky as shit first appearance, Remake!Sephiroth has improved a lot since then in more ways than one, and I'm looking forward to how they cap off his story
