#eurorack #eurorackmodular #euroracksynth https://ift.tt/IvBfpum I have started experimenting with #puredata a few months ago and have programmed and improved sequencers, loopers, burst-CV, and composition tools for the lich module which I use regularly in my music production process. I introduce and share these programs on my ko-fi platform or on the rebeltech-website with the hope that others will find them useful. For programming I use the Pure Data version 0.53. I compile and transfer the code on the rebeltech-website. I want to introduce a new tool which I call "2LFO SWITCH". It can be built in principle with separate modules like two LFO’s, a CV-mixer that sums the CV from the LFO’s, and a voltage controlled switch, that changes the signal path according the incoming summed LFO voltages. Such a patch can be used for instance to generate some variable rhythm-gates like demonstrated in these few short sound examples in the video. I have realized the basic principle in #puredata with an additional threshold parameter and some additional features like a 440 Hz test-tone to trim oscillator modules, LFO-phase reset, and some additional routing options. Lets have a view on the details of some example patches here in the demo: In the examples I use audio signals (from #OP1) that go into the audio inputs LEFT and RIGHT of the #befaco lich module. The frequency of the both internal LFO’s are adjusted via the knobs C and D, respectively. The frequency of both LFO’s can range from 0 to 10 HERZ. The threshold of the internal switch to control the internal gate is adjusted via the knob A. (Background music was made with #mutableinstruments elements.) Let's have a short look at the principle: If the sum of the amplitudes of both LFO’s is above the threshold value, the GATE is switched on and audio passes through to the audio outputs of the lich module. The phase of both LFO’s can be reseted via GATE IN 2, either manually or by the use of a trigger source, like a sequencer. That allows for the generation of more rhythmic gates that follow the main tempo. Moreover, control voltage following the the GATING process is send out via CV OUT 1. The inverse control voltage is send out via CV OUT 2. That allows for an additional control of external switch modules like the doepfer voltage controlled switch. In other situations a different mode of the program can be used, which is selected via GATE IN 2, either manually or by the use of a gate source. Here, the sum of the LFO’s amplitudes controls the volume of the audio signal without a gate effect. The corresponding CV is send out via CV OUT 2, the gated CV that corresponds to the first example is still send out via CV OUT 1. In summary, KNOB A controls the threshold of the GATE. KNOB B controls the volume of the test tone that is fixed to 440 HERZ. KNOB C controls the frequency of the low frequency oscillator 1. KNOB D controls the frequency of the low frequency oscillator 2. Button and GATE IN 1 selects the mode of the module. Button and GATE IN 2 resets the phase of the low frequency oscillators. In summary, the tool provides a more efficient and intuitive way to gate or switch audio signals in one module unit. Of course the code can be customized to further needs and can be found on the rebel tech patch library, a.s.a.p.. The Bored Brain Transmutron allows you "dynamically control combinations of pedals and eurorack effects" - so I decided to put it to the test. On the left side effects loop I have the AC Noises AMA and Mutable Instruments Clouds in series, while the right side effects loop has the Quiet Theory Prelude reverb/delay pedal. Also I have the tape loop being envelope followed and sending CV to the Transmutron and 4ms SMR, with a gate also being sent to the trigger of clouds. Drone from the SMR and a sequence from the OP-1 are mixed by the Make Noise Rosie module and are all outputted into the Transmutron for effects processing. Confused yet? I know, this thing is endless...like an abyss.
