When did you post your first fanfic?

Lordy. Back in 2019, I posted an extremely rough draft of a multi-chapter Sanders Sides (or 'SaSi') fanfic called Kingdoms for a Mind (or 'KFAM') on Wattpad. Either that one or a now tossed SaSi fic called Fear No More (guess which side was the focus in that one. Guess. Hint: It's the anxious guy.)

Virgil from Sanders Sides, I thiiiiink? Although I wrote for most of the sides at that point, too. Virgil was my little baby boy though.

Logan, Janus, Virgil, Patton, and Remus in the updated version of KFAM i'm working on, and Patton and Roman in a new SaSi/The Mechanisms crossover.

With conscious, newfound honesty, Logan senses that he is not just uncomfortable. He is angry. Janus doesn’t need to know. Why, in a million years, would Janus even deserve to know? Logan’s feeling are private, they are his, and they do not have to be spoken to anyone. Ever. Logan looks down toward the grass. Why do you care? He almost spits out, but in his periphery, he can see Janus still looking towards the woods. The other’s hands are placed gingerly in his own lap. His mouth is turned down, but his eyes are wide and alert. Janus longs for Virgil to return, too, just as Logan is. He feels the same urges Logan feels. Janus must already know the answer to his question. He knows. He must hate that he knows. He thinks Logan will either save his feelings or put him out of his misery and either option is nicer than conscious ignorance. Perhaps Janus has come to find he can’t lie to himself either. Hello! I have seen some other fanders commenting about the Janus GRWM video and I have a few opinions about both the video and some of those comments. But please note these are my thoughts and opinions and even some theories about certain things.

Also note that I respect and can understand other people's opinions, I am just sharing my own.

So, overall I found the GRWM video fun and funny. At first when we saw the preview last night,

I theorized that the colors used were meant to make it more obvious on the skin. Some even pointed out that the change could be because of Thomas's skin condition. To me, despite these colors not being green, they still look slightly green especially with the yellow glove near his face. Most people have more of a problem with the black line for his mouth which I can agree, it is very jarring to the eye and unnatural looking. However, this is not the first time we have seen the black line for Janus.

You can see it in the screen shots and it is very obvious, and done not as well, in the second picture with Janus's full winter get-up. I think this has less to do with Thomas choosing to change the makeup look and more with the fact that Tayln and Quill (who seems to be doing the makeup now) have different styles when it comes to Janus. This style has also been seen with some cosplayers, which I would show pictures but I cannot find names or media tags for them but you can see examples if you look up Janus Sanders Cosplays. Hopefully by the time the finale comes around, the makeup will not be as jarring and maybe even get better.

Now with the comments about how the characters are portrayed. I can see where this is coming from, they have changed but something we have to remember is that they are representations of Thomas's personality which will change over time. Also Thomas is still trying to get a handle on them without Joan by his side and we haven't had an official episode since Working Through Intrusive Thoughts, most things that have come out since seem to be semi-canon/non-canon. Thomas has also said (via my memory) in his Failures and Success video for 2023, he was using these Aside videos and shorter and easier form content to get used to and understand his characters again and to have more fun with them without the pressure like normal videos.

I want to end this post with saying that Thomas can and does make mistakes, we all do, but these are his characters and he is allowed to change and use them as he sees fits. Just as much as we as fans are allowed to use these characters and change their designs and even sometimes personalities to fit what we want them to fit.

Remus' Brilliant Plan by CrystalHavoc Canonverse (Moceit, Intrulogical, Intruality...technically) Rating: M Remus is bored, horny, annoyed with Virgil, fed up with being ignored by Logan, and amused by Janus's crush on a certain father figment. Obviously, the answer to all of these problems is the same simple solution: He needs to have sex with Patton. Notes: This one is so fucking funny, I don't even know where to start. The plot runs on Remus logic from beginning to end, and it takes you along for the ride the whole way.

Game nights are fun by Theshycreeper Canonverse (Gen) Rating: G If you invite the Dark Sides to game night, there is one game you must never let them play... Notes: I don't want to spoil it. This one is short but so, so funny.

to be honest, capable (of holding you) by angelsdemonsducks Canonverse (Gen) Rating: T Janus can't just show vulnerability like a normal person. (But apparently he can manage it as a snake?) Notes: Or, Janus runs hot and cold-blooded, but Thomas puts the effort into figuring him out anyway. (Along the way there are cuddles.)

Lies Have Never Tasted So Sweet by Izzyfandoms Soulmate AU (Janmile) Rating: T Every soul bond manifests differently. Emile's simply gives him the ability to know when his soulmate is lying. He's not sure how they'll manage to meet that way, but one thing he does know: his soulmate lies a lot. Notes: I'm not much of a shipper, but this is a rare pair I have a fondness for, and this one is pretty cute.

my desired by Hypenotized Fantasy AU (DLAMP) Rating: E Four villages sacrifice their "undesirables" as payment for a bargain with a fearsome naga. (Unbeknownst to these unwilling sacrifices, the naga's dastardly plan is to spoil his new companions within an inch of their lives.) Notes: One of the rare Explicit fics in my bookmarks, because I've got a soft spot for Naga!ceit. Despite the set up it's all fluffy consensual (kinky) fun.

He's My Alibi by FeelingGroovySmooth Serial Killer AU (Intruality) Rating: T Patton loves his husband, but it'd be much easier to ignore his illicit hobbies if he could actually clean up after himself... Notes: Just a fluffy, twisted bit of Intruality.

Summoning the Second Chance by TheFrenchPea Fantasy AU (DLAMP) Rating: Not Rated In dire straits, a group of lovers make a desperate attempt to improve their situation by summoning a mysterious entity. For better or worse, they are now at the being's mercy. Notes: So far each of the chapters have been very interesting. Definitely off to an intriguing start.

they say that it gets better (but i guess that was a lie) by Cicadas_on_a_rainy_day Canonverse (Gen) Rating: Not Rated/T Thomas starts paying closer attention to some of Remus's behavior, which leads to unexpected, painful repercussions for everyone else in the Mindscape. Notes: Updating as a series of Whumptober prompts. It's also Remus-centric, so approach with an eye to the tags. Some great character moments, and exploration of how the Sides function within Thomas's mind. (The series summary promises an eventual happy ending, and I'm clinging to that.)

i feel like i'm seeing a lot of this in the sanders sides fandom lately, so i just want to let everyone know:

there is nothing wrong with being a patton hater.

absolutely nothing. you don't need a reason. you don't need to say "oh it's a trauma thing" for your hatred of him to be valid. you're not a bad person. you're not allergic to fun. you don't "just need to understand his character better". you're not any less of a fander if you hate patton. you're just a person with an opinion.

as a patton hater myself, i've seen so many people treat fics where patton is the antagonist, or posts that critique patton's actions, or just any content that doesn't treat patton like some noble sweetheart like they're wrong, or bad, or even sinful. but this is a fandom. you're allowed to create whatever content you want and that doesn't make you a bad person.

now, you do need to tag appropriately and avoid hating on patton around people who really don't like hearing patton hate. like don't hate on him in places where you know it'll make people upset. that's just not constructive.

also, critiquing is not the same as hating?? so me critiquing patton doesn't make me a patton hater? i am a patton hater, but not because i critique him. does that make any sense at all? anyway moving on...

it's okay to be like "i don't like patton", or "i hate patton", or "my god this fucking four-eyed, hypocritical, gets-away-with-everything, manipulative, guilt-trippy son of a bitch is making me go feral and i'm gonna write a 500k word fanfiction about him being an asshole because looking at him makes me mad". THAT IS ALL OKAY, and it's perfectly valid to feel/do all of these things.

i feel like so many patton fans just take their love for patton too far, and try and police people who have different opinions from them, and i see it with patton way more than any of the others because of the nature of patton's character. since he's the "good" one, a lot of people like to frame the narrative like "if you don't like patton, the good one, then you're not good yourself". which is just so fucking stupid.

anyway i hate patton!! and that's okay! and if any patton lovers come on here like "um actually it's really offensive to people who like patton-" shut up. my opinions and the way i engage with fandom does not affect you in any way. i try to put down adequate warnings to the best of my ability, so if you keep reading, that's on you, bud. not me.

Hello Fanders!

Thanks to the lovely @tsspromptmonth event, I realized I actually don't know a lot of shipnames for the pairings I don't regularly engage with. And finding those names out is a hassle. So, I decided I would gather what shipnames I can find and put them in comprehensible lists for easier access. This will probably take me a while to set up, but I'll try to work on it consistently.

I would also like to do some polls at some point, just to gauge the popularity between certain shipnames, all in good fun of course, you can use whatever names you like.

Also, this is a proship blog! I know many don't like to acknowledge that RemRom exists but I will not be turning a blind eye. You can block this account if they bother you. I will be tagging it appropriately.
