May I request some general romantic headcanons for yan!Larry please?

Absolutely! This man has been living rent free in my head since the moment I saw him,,, (ღ˘ω˘ღ) Gotta start with the fave! Hope you enjoy these!

✧General Yandere Headcanons✧ — Gym Leader Larry

Warning(s): Slight Spoilers for Scarlet/Violet!, Obsessive Behavior, Monopolizing, Slight Hints of Possessive Behavior

So... As a yandere, it would take a while until Larry gained an obsession towards you. It's not like he's rejecting the possibility of a romantic relationship, it's just that he's busy... Plus, it takes time for him to gain romantic feelings and again, he's a man who enjoys the simple life. You'd have to be a constant in his life in order for his attention to be grabbed. Hanging around him when he's on break with either a visit to Treasure Eatery or a battle here and there (though he prefers to eat with you) is the best way to do so.

When his yandere traits arise, he'll immediately know and be highly aware of them unlike most yanderes. Larry absolutely knows himself and his life enough to notice anything out of place. The growing yandere traits will be found out instantly. It's a bit conflicting to deal with, because, this isn't the norm. This isn't how a person should feel towards someone they'd normally love. Is this love? Maybe it was, but Larry can tell it isn't... Traditional.

He can't ignore it, honestly. No matter how much he tries to go through his daily routine, the thought of you sticks with him like super glue. Thankfully, it doesn't get to the point where it messes with his work, but he's catch himself lacking here and there. He can't even be mad at you. That wouldn't be fair since, it's his feelings but some part of him knows that you visiting him has caused this reaction in the first place.

So what does Larry do? Well, unlike most yanderes, he can't just devote time into stalking you to gather information or find time to spend with you. No, he just has to incorporate you into his daily life/schedule somehow. You already spend time with him during his breaks, so that's good. Sooner or later, it won't just be eating together that will be the only time you two interact. This man will basically monopolize your time in due course. It's not something immediate, rather, slowly but surely so you won't take notice. He prefers it that way, being able to take the reigns and put things in place to have things running smoothly.

Larry isn't very outward with his yandere behavior, making him one of the most difficult yanderes to detect. Which means that there are high chances that you'll find out too late about his obsession towards you unless you're very perceptive. Speaking of which, he also doesn't get jealous. I mean, you already go out of your way to see him during breaks so it gives him some semblance that you might have a reason in doing so. He won't jump to conclusions, but with how he's working things around, Larry isn't afraid of others showing interest in you. At some point, you won't even be able to have time for them.

Oh, but you know who does get jealous? His Pokemon. Even if Larry hasn't spoken too much about his true feelings for you to them, they can tell he's grown an attachment. Komala and Altaria are quite clingy around you, always sticking around your person in some way. There was even a time where you had difficulty prying off the comatose state pokemon from your arm when Larry had to go back to work. She made disgruntled faces as she nuzzled her face into your arm.

Thankfully, he didn't need to bring her since this work wasn't related to the Gym, so he let her cling to you. Altaria also just decided to hover close to you, making herself look bigger if anyone attempted to flirt with you. Also, I like to think that Oinkologne rubs against your to make sure you're scented, so other pokemon and people will know not to linger around you too long.

Oh, but Staraptor and Braviary are the worst when it comes to being protective of you. The former is a little more rational and keeps the latter from doing anything too rash unless needed. Altaria doesn't get aggressive like them, but she is also a close contender in terms of possessiveness. Anyways, the mentioned birds just... Hang around you and if any person tries to get too close to you, they'll use intimidation to get them running off. All of them are highly aware of how much you mean to Larry, so they just can't let anyone else besides him have you. Besides, they enjoy your company immensely and wouldn't want to lose that, especially since they can see how your mere presence brings him more to look forward to.

If you don't count the very protective pokemon Larry has, there's not much of a danger posed towards others. He isn't going to be a danger to himself or you either for obvious reasons. Larry only wants a simple life with you, but of course, these feelings aren't so simple. So he just adapts to it as best as he can, making sure he's the only constant in your life. You won't even notice how your life is shifting ever so slightly to fit with his own. So, in short terms, there's really no need for kidnapping. It's too much of a hassle anyways and... He really doesn't want it to get to that point, no matter how much some urges scream at him. Everything will be alright. Just leave everything to him.

While surprised at first, and then confused, Juliusz would keep the rock, especially if a friend gave it to him. I feel like it would either have a spot on a shelf in his flat, would serve as something to hold down a rather stubborn piece of paper on his desk, or stay in a pocket of one of his suits, ready to be fidgeted with on a stressful day at work.

I LOVE THIS QUESTION!!! I'm really into pokemon so this was both delightful and hard to think about, there's so many of 'em! Uhhhh this is gonna get long, i love Pokemon

Can i give him a team instead of just one?

He's definitely more of a grass-type Pokemon fella, the first one definetly being some kind of Eeveelution. Either Leafyon or Umbreon is a good choice.

His second pick would 100% be Decidueye. It's a grass-type bird! Juliusz is a bird parent already, so this little fella would fit right at home! They're Pokemon that are goal-driven and made for work, but are also easily startled and do not take failure well (does that remind me of someone? wink wonk).

The third pokemon is...another bird, but hear me out!

Staraptor is basically Arthur as a Pokemon. And you betcha Juliusz wants his buddy in his team! They're loner fighting-birds that are strong and very resistant to damage, but can also be aggressive, even having the courage to take on enemies larger than them!

As a trainer, I feel like his competitive side would come out strong. Let's say Peaky and Pokemon cross over (YES PLEASE), i feel like Juliusz would pride himself on having a small, but very tight-knit team that he takes care of as best as he can. He'd be disciplined with his training, and then wind down with his buddies somewhere out in nature. Aaaaaaannnd now i have an urge to boot up a shit ton of emulator and re-play my fave Pokemon games lol

inhales deeply because u mentioned my two big interests simon & pokemon!!! i have so many thoughts about it 8D like listen my hc is his fave is corviknight, they're the only regional bird with flying as the primary typing, plus they're huge & intimidating but actually quite helpful. theyre perfect for him imo. and in the AU i'm working on, taka is a staraptor, another thing i have a lot of thoughts about, lmao. and simon totally uses premier balls. that part definitely not because that's my favourite ball. :3c

One day I'll have to sit down and spill on all of them, but while we're talking about Simon I'll just sit here and go over what I reckon he'd use!

Off the bat, this man's a Flying-type specialist. His bird obsessions won't allow me to say anything different. It also means one of his main weaknesses would be Electric-type - fitting for a man who's been shocked repeatedly. I've considered Dark-type, but that feels a bit too pat for the bloke.

Corviknight goes without saying, it's a big dark bird with themes of knightly chivalry - not quite samurai, but it works. I've seen him drawn with a Talonflame once too. Not sure which bird most closely resembles Taka or any old hawk, but this one's the closest from what I've seen. Staraptor works well enough too. I'm a little torn on him using a Pangoro if I'm honest. On one hand, look at the thing, that bear is peak Simon vibes. On the other, he kinda hates being called a panda by Nahyuta. Maybe he uses one to mock him instead?

As for balls... I'm not sure he strikes me as the guy to have a "signature ball". Premier balls feel more like a Bobby thing to me, idk.

I'll have more ideas once I sit down to write this nonsense out, but yeah. I've been on this kind of timing too lol.

1. Favorite Type

POISON!!!! i LOVE poison types!!!! they're so fun to use, and so many of their designs are so COOL, and i love how many resistances they have!!!! adding the poison type always makes a pokemon more fun to use, imo!!! i've loved them even before they got on offensive use with fairy types!!!! them being defensive is enough for me :D plus a lot of my favorites happen to be poison types, like trubbish, zubat, and drapion!!

3. Favorite Dual Type

oooooo this is HARD!! hm... pre-gen 6 dark/ghost is fun... i really enjoy poison/dark with their one weakness to ground, and ground/steel is also super fun, like excadrill!

but i think my overall favorite has gotta be poison/ground, like clodsire and the nidos!! the resistances of poison types (my favorite defensive type and fave type overall), and the offensive power of ground types (my favorite offensive type and second favorite type overall)!! and i mean. how can i ever say no to STAB earthquake.

11. Favorite Trial (Sun & Moon)

hrmmm. it's been a while since i've played gen 7... i think my favorite is the ghost trial!! it's a creative concept, with the photos, even if it's along the same vein of "get Things and battle pokemon and then Final Battle" that every trial and many gyms follow, and i mean. i love the mimikyu room. it's a nice touch!!

15. Favorite Shiny Pokémon

OH JEEZ... minior. i love shiny minior so much, even if it's kinda hard to see it when you have one.

honorable mentions to shiny suicune, shiny wooloo, and shiny hisuian zorua/zoroark, which is Significant because i don't really like shiny unovan zorua/zoroark very much.

uhhHHHHHH....... suicune!!! it's so nice looking, i love when it appears in the anime (barring... anything that happened in journeys i can't speak for that) and it's so nice!! shiny suicune specifically.

honorable mention to landorus therian. i like how its paws have those flattened claws on them, like for digging! because it tills the land! and also... landorus therian. vgc moments.

23. Favorite Music Track From A Pokémon Game

VILLAGE BRIDGE. ABSOLUTELY VILLAGE BRIDGE. when i first found village bridge i adored its music, and then i found the musicians !!!!!! aaaa!!!!!!!!!! and i love that it has lyrics. people often cite roxie as the first in-game pokemon soundtrack to have words/lyrics, but she's not!! village bridge is!!!! i adore this song it is so near and dear to my heart

I did both first match and rematch team because why not!

(Why no Swablu/Altaria, you may wonder, since I’ve mentioned it as one of my fave flying types? Type variety, for one, but I also thought I might give it some spotlight another way: if my hypothetical gym leader self was an npc, during the postgame she would gift the player a “reject” swablu with good IVs from the dozens she has bred in a - for the time being failed - attempt at getting a shiny one for her team).

I changed my type specialty from fire to flying, but the theme would be more or less the same one I had thought a while back: a gym located inside a library, with the gym leader as a tired grad student battling challengers as a distraction from working on her upcoming deadlines.

Moon blast: favourite fairy type(s)

Alas, I am not immune to the mainstream appeal of eeveelutions  Jokes aside, Slyveon is a pokemon I would never have predicted I’d end up liking (given how kid and teen me was always  all things that could be even vaguely perceived as “girly”) and yet here we are. Its shiny form in particular is fantastic!

Like I did with Alolan Vulpix before, I’m including Alolan Ninetales as a honourable mention because it’s a regional form and not that different from regular Ninetales, so…

Extreme speed: favourite normal type(s)

Porygon 2, Staraptor, Girafarig

Porygon 2 and Girafarig I feel like are worth mentioning together because they’re both pokemon I had never given much thought to before using them in a Platinum playthrough. Back during lockdown I decided to replay one of my favourite games only using ‘mons I had never used before and these two somehow ended up in my team halfway through (Porygon 2 in particular carried me through most of the E4 with the power of coverage moves) and I’ve loved them ever since! Both have weird but unique concepts behind them and the execution design-wise is right up my alley!

Staraptor is Staraptor. I don’t think I have too much to say about it since it falls in the “obviously cool” pokemon category and the reasons why I’m fond of it mostly boil down to 1. Good bird design 2. Nostalgia (I had it on my very first Diamond team) and 3. The fact that it learns close combat despite being 100% bird, like, how cool is that?

Holy crap

Playing Legends: Arceus, exploring a bit, some wild Staravia notices me and attacks me (i didn’t even pay attention to what pokemon it was, i just recognised the call), eventually i decided to battle it to get it to stop annoying me, throw my pokemon at it without really looking, battle starts, i think, ‘huh, this Staravia looks... off? wait.’

Yes, it was a shiny.

My first shiny was a Ponyta, I found her as a side quest given by an npc. She was drinking from a pond. She's bold by nature and I named her Mila.

The second was Céleste! I was on my way to a Kricketot outbreak actually, when I found him halfway on my way there. I decided to keep him a Kricketot because I grew fond of him in that form. He's shy so it fits.

Then there is Dario, a shiny Gligar I found while I was scaling a cliff. I heard a funny sound and was like "wth was that??", saw him, thought to myself 'is he supposed to be purple?', saw a pink gligar somewhere in the back behind him and then I blacked out in the span of 0.1 second. His nature is apparently quiet which is extremely funny to me because of how I found him. He's been in my team ever since and I'm planning to keep him in this form too.

By a matter of sheer luck or a gift by the universe (idk) I had an outbreak of Budew the same day as Dario, went there just for funsies, and one of the very first Budews sparkled before my eyes. I caught it thinking of gifting it to my wife, got absolutely hammered down by an Alpha Budew and then got murdered by a small Budew right next to it. I was so embarrassed. Shi loves Roserade and I love giving her flowers so it was worth it though.

In return a day or two later one of my friends found her second shiny Starly (now Staraptor) and gifted it to me. I named him Emmett, I love him very much. He loves to fly and zoom past everyone 😎

And today after getting called out by my therapist for possibly playing too much I did exactly just that ✌ booted up my game, almost got murdered by Mothim, and then found a shiny Luxio (now Luxray), which I have named after Pan. It's as if the game wanted to reassure me that I'm allowed to have fun shfkd

I almost have a full team of shinies now 😌
