just got to the season 2 finale and i forgot how good it was AAAAAA!!!!

the dread building up between jon figuring out that sasha had been replaced and him deciding to destroy the table is SO well done. jonny’s acting is incredible in those parts where you can tell jon is genuinely distraught over realizing sasha has been dead for who knows how long :[

yada yada he was stupid for destroying the table but genuinely what else would he have done. jon may not be a genius but he is fucking determined and he WILL do SOMETHING

if anything, last night's episode of hotd should definitively lay to rest the notion that rhaenyra is a "boring character". bury that idea six feet under! she is selfish, egotistical, and will do anything to ensure the crown is placed on her head. her own child expressed his insecurities, yet she knowingly cast them aside for her own sake. ironically, jacaerys was right. his insecurities and "internalized bastardphobia" (lol) will not disappear when rhaenyra takes the crown. the same entitled arrogance that viserys possessed on the throne has passed to rhaenyra, which plays into the "daddy's girl" agenda.

it's fascinating to see how her entitlement and overconfidence, beyond her actual capabilities, will likely lead to her downfall. she was never a boring character; we just had to wait a few episodes to see the full extent of her complexity. real ones saw it from the very beginning though.

Centuries by TheVulcanBobDylan- (explicit) Throughout the centuries, Loki seeks comfort in the arms of different Mobius variants.

Let Us In by DewdropReader- How it should have ended IMO. Loki is convinced that the only way to save everyone he loves is to carry the burden of the multiverse. Sylvie and Mobius aren’t willing to allow it. What if instead of sacrificing himself, Sylvie and Mobius were able to stop Loki and were able to convince him to let them help. (I’m a big believer in The Power of Friendship endings and will always crave them.)

anyway I just want to say that I have absolutely loved season 2, every second of it. I don't care if I'm in the minority but I think s2 was even better than s1 - the emotions were visceral, intense, and at times darker, I actually enjoyed the faster pace, while there was less comedy overall I think the comedy they had landed more consistently, and if I didn't know that the season had been reduced in length & budget I wouldn't have guessed because the production quality seemed higher. While it would have been great to have those two extra episodes, I think they did fine without. I thoroughly enjoyed the attention that each character got, I loved every new character they introduced - ofmd has always been exceptional at giving even the most minor of characters presence and impact, and making us care about them. I love the attention to detail that's been put into the props and costumes, the music choices, and the gorgeous filming locations. I've been blown away by the layers of symbolism, the callbacks and parallels, the narrative reciprocity of the characters' journeys, things that will give us plenty of topics for discussion during this latest hiatus. A deep heartfelt thank you to every cast and crew member that made this season possible, especially the ones that haven't even been able to talk about the show with us yet. Each and every actor gave their all this season, and it comes across - every performance has been so utterly earnest, moving, witty, and brimming with raw talent. This show has brought me so much joy, and I cannot wait to see what's in store next.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion but I overall didn't care for TUA s2 and absolutely love s3. I appreciate what s2 was doing narratively and that it laid the foundations for s3. But as like an actual TV show I was watching I found myself not invested. I had no interest in Klaus' cult arc (I know he's the tumblr bb boy but I like Klaus but he's not my fav for sure) or Allison's happy marriage arc. I really like the turn her character took in s3, negative character development whoo! Luther is my boy but I didn't care what he was doing either. Would have liked more focus on the Commission that wasn't around the Handler.

Everything and everyone was all spread out and I feel like ideas were thrown out and we went 'hey look at this!' and then it was over before anything could happen with it. I did still enjoy it, all of Five's scenes were amazing. Diego I feel really came into his own this season and him and Lila are such a great duo. BENNNNNNN. Loved Elliot and the Swedes as the perfect TUA side characters who are just so memorable.

But i seriously loved s3, the apocalypse was happening right in front of them and there was this slow creeping tension similar to s1 to just Get Your Shit Together. Everything was spacious yet contained as the world became smaller and smaller leading to some fascinating character moments. LOVED Hotel Obsidian, how it started as this weird place Klaus used to crash to something way way stranger. Dad Diego my beloved, Luther embracing his Himboism and FINALLY getting something good. Allison's cruel breakdown arc. Viktor's reckoning with himself - as a man and a dangerous meta. Five's just complete giving up. Klaus' two disastrous family road trips. I loved the idea of the Sparrows, could they have been used better? Oh yeah but the idea of a competent team on the surface who is broken down once things got tough and weird in contrast to the Umbrellas who are So Bad at everything it cancels out.

Anyway I'm a s3 stan for life.
