you don't have to answer this publicly, but i just wanna ramble for a sec re: the anon earlier. they're probably either young and/or have their own things to work through to have had such a strong and negative response at beautiful art, but i wish i could stress to them that fanart (fanfic, too) of ships/character dynamics are not ONLY created and shared to bring joy, they're often forms of personal artistic expression as well.

yes, these types works are sometimes - in fandom culture - centred around more wholesome romantic pairings for feel-good vibes, but that's never exclusively been the case, and it is definitely not reflective of the (real) world we live in. there's pain and beauty in equal amounts to be found here. ergo, art is influenced by both sides.

one might argue that art can take on different purposes or have specific target audiences. anon may be under the assumption that fanart should depict a certain trope or dynamic or act as a form of escapism online, but the reality is that artists create fanart for a vast number of reasons. personally, for me, it can be anything from figure drawing, master study, working through trauma, exploring themes, exploring styles, being moved deeply and needing to express myself through a dynamic, or even "just because". that's the beauty of fan works.

I feel like I've established with my art so far that I don't always draw art that makes me feel good. Sometimes I want fluffy, sweet things that makes you happy, but art has always been about expression to me, it's why I have so many vent pieces.

With all the moody art pieces I've done involving Angel, you would think people wouldn't be so surprised about me throwing Val in there too. I have more bedroom pieces involving Val that I have planned and I'm not gonna NOT make them just because some people are upset that the dynamic exists.

There are hundreds of artists that can cater to whatever the hell you're looking for. If you want someone to just draw Huskerdust and pieces of the happy hotel cast holding hands you are more than welcome to seek those people out instead of bothering me.

-They‘re just so good for each other. Luka is such a calming presence in Marinette‘s chaotic life and helps her relax when she feels anxious and unsure of herself, always willing to be there for her and offer a helping hand during tough times. Marinette has a deep appreciation not only for Luka‘s ability to play music but also hear heart songs, as if she understood immediately what he meant after listening to him play for the first time. They feed off each other‘s creative energy and are just generally so wholesome together. I could talk about them forever, they make me so happy!!

And not only because Luka is best boy and goes above and beyond for Marinette and gives her the most beautiful love confession in the entire show

It is because they literally have the most special and unique connection from every couple in the show, not only romantic but also platonic

It starts off with captain hardrock, the first time they meet, they‘re a little awkward at first, until he invites her to sit and Luka plays out Marinette‘s heart

And she doesn‘t judge him or thinks he‘s weird or is confused. She gives him a look of curiousness and of genuine admiration and asks „how do you do that?“

She immediately realized Luka is special for his gift of hearing people‘s hearts. And I can easily imagine that people would see Luka as weird and cringe (like parts of the fandom did), so imagine what it must‘ve been like to get appreciation for something like that. She‘s impressed and wants to learn more.

They interacted for about two minutes at this point and they‘re already smitten by each other.They already have a wholesome dynamic that feels so realistic for two teenagers who are attracted to each other. Again, after two minutes of meeting.

And it goes on through the episode, speaking highly about each other and Luka basically self-sacrificing himself so Marinette can escape

(I‘m certain he knew Marinette would come back for everyone one way or another. And she did)

An amazing set up for an amazing couple🩷💙

From there on every time we see them together when they‘re (not to be salty) not undermined by another ship they keep being there for each other through hard ships

Their both artistic kids and respect and admire the other for it (See Silencer, the best episode of the whole show)

It also just shows that Luka isn‘t the center of Marinette‘s life. Instead she‘s a girl with ambition who just happens to have a crush on a guy. Silencer is her being the best version of herself and Luka doesn‘t actively try to change her. He‘s literally just existing around her. For show‘s standards that‘s incredible. It takes away the one thing people don‘t like about her, what more could you want?

And then when their music gets stolen, Marinette literally starts beef with Bob Roth, a super influential man in the industry who could destroy them both, just to save Luka‘s music from getting stolen! She’s not even afraid or second guesses herself, she just goes all in and threathens him to reveal everything on live tv.

Wife material through and through.

Which leads to the most wholesome confession in the entire show. Not only as an akuma

BUT LATER AS REGULAR LUKA

AND MARINETTE IS SO TOUCHED BY IT

And by the end of season 3, they give the relationship a shot. Without Mari pretending she‘s over Adrien, but with full honesty about her feelings. And that‘s really the most fair way they could‘ve gone about it. They don‘t promise each other wedding rings and kids, they‘re just two people in love who wanna create art and have them be muses for each other and just like each other without any pressure from outside. It really those silent moments where it‘s just them where Marinette is her best self and Luka is his best self.

They are so so SO GOOD for each other.

„But Blueberry, Marinette broke up with him and lied to Luka!“

The problems these two had ultimately were never intrinsic problems that they fundamentally don‘t work together as people, it‘s really outside forces keeping them apart. Had Marinette not been LB, they would‘ve literally had no reason for a break up and crushes on other people are things people can get over.

Plus, even as exes they keep being there for each other, having a wholesome and healthy friendship. That‘s a big deal! Nice hard feeling or anything, they just want what‘s best for each other, even if they aren’t a couple anymore.

And yet still look at each other like this

And just overall being super touchy with each other

And put the safety over the other above their own values, even though it means they have to lie about what they know. It hurts both of them but you know how it is, nothing hurts like true love. And yet they forgive each other because they never wanted to intentionally hurt each other

They‘re still SO in love with each other argue with a wall.

(Also it‘s this episode when Mari says „you always find the right words“ even though in Luka‘s introduction he says he‘s not good with words. I bet 1000000€ Marinette was the one which helped Luka be a better communicator with words. The support for each other always went both ways I know it they told me)

But even just as platonic buddies, look me in the eye and tell me that these two will not have each other in their lives forever, I dare you. If one of them jumps into danger, the other jumps after them. If one of them has troubles of any sort, the other will listen, because they know nobody will understand them as good as each other.

They‘re ride or die forever and I think that‘s fucking beautiful. So yeah folks, show the blueberries some love because they deserve the recognition just like they deserve each other🫐🩷💙

A ship that deserves more love: Lorenz and Marianne. He’s a bit of an arrogant jerk in the first act of the game, but he learns a lot of humility without denouncing his original self-confidence or personality. She’s very shy and self-deprecating, but becomes more confident and secure in who she is. He would treat her so well, she’d bring some of his grand ideas down to earth, and in general I think they’d support each other and just be very wholesome.

A ship that you like, even though it could never work in canon: Hapi and Felix! :) I think Felix in canon is a little too wrapped up in his “I hate Dimitri” drama, but I want to see them sitting in the corner making fun of everyone. Felix is kind of angry wet cat man all the time, and Hapi has learned to suppress her emotions because she accidentally summons monsters sometimes. I think they deserve to be a little bit awful to everyone but each other.

An old ship: my very first ship for this game that I actually cared about was Linhardt and Byleth. That’s my end goal for the Crimson Flower route—I know that Edelgard is the main choice for them, but look. Linhardt is smart, sleepy, hates blood, and in general just wants to be left alone to do research and fish for his whole life. In Crimson Flower, Byleth regains their humanity, topples the theocracy, and the country is left to be guided and reform. In every other route, Byleth becomes archbishop because they have the goddess’s power. I think that pairing Linhardt with Byleth in that route is an extension of the idea of Byleth rejecting “destiny” and choosing to be human, to not do anything else world-shattering, to just live.

i'm introverted and can come off a little shy around people i don't know but i'm usually the opposite around those i'm comfortable with. i love joking around with my friends and see teasing as one of my love languages. i'm a very easy going person but i have been told that i can come off as a little mysterious and intimidating to those who don't know me.

in terms of hobbies, i love watching movies and really enjoy movies that end on an open ending, leaving you to try and interpret that ending yourself. i also really enjoy playing video games and find it one or my favourite ways to relax and wind down. music is also something i really enjoy. i love discovering new music, especially songs that my friends have recommended to me, but i usually like listening to kpop and hyperpop.

i'm not much of an outdoor person and would definitely prefer to do indoor activities in my spare time. although, i'm not opposed to doing more active activities if my friends asked me to join them. my social battery does run out a little quickly though.

They have a super wholesome,soft,respectful relationship. Love how Sasaki was feeling attracted towards Miyano and he was like 'he is a guy tho...meh, whatever,we only live once,I want him!' King shit! 🩷 And Miya,my soft baby,was the one with more conflict about if he felt attracted towards men or was straight (because he had a crush in a girl before) , and one would think they would react in the opposite way because Miyano is the BL fan and everyone thinks he is quite femenine.

I also like the way Miyano thought for a long time if he really was in love with Sasaki and wanted to be in a relationship and Sasaki was always respectful.

💚 Ship you think deserves more love: An older and healthier Red/Blue. I know they're already one of the more prominent Four Swords ships, but I've read all the fanfics on Ao3 and my fields are dying. Please send help.

🩷 Ship that you like, even though it could never work in canon: Blue/Zelda, specifically when they're older and more thoughtful. A part of me really wants to explore it in fanfics, but Green/Zelda and Red/Blue are more prominent for me, so it feels wrong to write Blue/Zelda — almost like I'm personally betraying Green and Red.

Who knows, maybe I'll get over myself and give it a shot one of these days.

🍦 What's the sweetest fic you've created so far?

With Linzin, I would say the oneshots of Linzin and their babies. I just really love Linzin bonding and interacting with their babies 🥹 makes my heart warm and happy

The other ship was Imector from Coco. There's a huge incomplete fic I've written for them with MANY super cute and wholesome moments. I'm smiling thinking back to it now 🥹

🦅 Do you outline fics or fly by the seat of your pants?

A bit of both!

Ooooh honey, mf outlining...where do we begin? I never used to write an outline. I only outlined a fic when I had the idea for my fic, "Choices, Chances, Changes." Even that outline originally had like 10 chapters, and the fic turned into 21 💀 Bc many things can change from the original outline (e.g. new ideas come up, characters want to do smth else from me, etc.), I don't follow it strictly. It just serves as a good skeleton to connect the plot pieces together.

More often, I'll write based on impulse and my mood. I find that when I write based on my emotions for the day, I can channel it into writing and be productive + honor my feelings. That's pretty much the big reason why I've been able to upload a lot of oneshots or chapters very quickly 😃

What do you think of Noctis' romance with Lunafreya? Frankly I think it was undercooked and half assed. Like they couldn't figure out how to properly fit Luna into the game, let alone her relationship with Noctis. So they settled on giving us a steak dinner with only the bone and gristle but no meat. Noctis' platonic interactions with Sarah from the Terra Wars DLC was somehow more romantic than anything he had with Luna. I read up your reasons for noctifa and they make alot of sense. I think your headcanons are an accurate take on what their romance would be like if they actually met and became a couple. It has the potential to be a much healthier relationship. Tifa fought hard to change what fate Sephiroth had in store for Cloud and herself whereas Luna just rolled over and let herself and Noctis be sacrificed without much pushback. Noctifa is a loving and wholesome relationship built on strong foundations with lots of room for love, growth, and mutual support.♥️

I think all FFXV players agree that both Lunafreya and her relationship with Noctis are underdeveloped. They even had to patch the game by adding more scenes and dialogues of Noctis showing more “romantic” feelings towards her, something that felt extremely forced (and sad in a bad way) especially for me having played both versions (the original and the patched one).

There are too many things I don't like about Luna x Noctis, but mostly I couldn't ship them because in my opinion, Noctis wouldn't be happy with her. I just don't see any chemistry between them. They have nothing in common except their duties. Even in their interactions as children all they talked about was her being oracle and him being the future King of Lucis.

In the Ignis DLC we also have the best ending in which Noctis is saved, implying that he can achieve happiness by surviving and staying with his brothers, Gladio, Ignis and Prompto to rebuild the new world.

Now, Noctis x Tifa, despite being an impossible ship, I'm in love with them. Always have been.

Everyone has their own way of interpreting characters and their possible relationships.

I have loved Noctis and Tifa separately (as individuals) for many years and have always believed that if they met they would fall in love. Knowing their histories, personalities, ways of thinking and acting I can't help but ship them. They simply complement and complete each other as if they were made for being together.

As you beautifully said, I think Noctifa's relationship would be a healthy and loving one, full of mutual support and growth.

There really is so much to say about Noctis x Tifa that I'm writing a book about it. I think you might be interested ☺️🩷
