Oumota Week 2023: Day 1 - Hospital AU / Hunger Games AU

It's the third in my timezone so here we go! Went with a postgame vr au set in the hospital after. Was really thinking on the wake up, the trepidation of the unknown. Death wasn't the end. And how, just how, does Kokichi wake up a martyr to help him through it again?

I could've choose something easier but my dumb ass decided to make an animatic. It's not as good as I wanted but I just don't wanna work on it anymore. So sorry for all the imperfections!

"Let's make a deal, Kaito! If they hate me and blame me for killing you, I win. If they're upset about me and actually give a shit, you win. If I'm wrong you can do whatever you want. You can tell them about everything that happened here, or lie about it and make up some heroic story. You can safely assume that I admitted that I was wrong about everything, and you were always right.

But! If I'm right you're gonna have to agree with them. Say you hate me. Spit on my grave. Not tell them about anything other than what you're asked about. And admit that I was right."

"I'm not gonna do that!"

"That is my final wish. My will. That shit have to mean something to you, hero."

Summary:

Kaito wove fictional tales about the surface, and Kokichi told lie after lie about the sea. Both felt comfortable lying out their asses because neither of them would ever be able to call each other on their respective bullshit; Kokichi would never be able to set a proverbial foot in the mountains, just like Kaito could never delve down where even the light couldn't swim.

I... I did it. I wrote 138 pages and did one pretty nice drawing and completed all prompts for oumotaweek... I can finally say I did a fandom event thing XD phew. I did it. Next up, the hard part: putting it up >.< I think because of the type of content I usually put up, it can be easy to overestimate how comfortable I am showing off my writing. I am actually really shy about any writing that isn’t smut. I feel like peeps who are reading smut stories tend to be more generally forgiving and down for anything: if you’re casually browsing the explicit section, chances are you’re not too easily alarmed. General audiences though? Those guys are nerve wracking. I have no idea how they’ll react to anything, if they’ll even react at all.  Ah well. The writing part was fun. Hopefully the showing part will be fun too~
