He leaned the axe by the doorframe, approaching his mother's bedside. She'd been there for a moon now, with no recovery in sight...

"I did it momma. You'd be so proud" he muttered, taking her clammy hand in his, "I finished my first job. It was hard, but..."

He paused, looking up at her.

"It's worth it if I know it will help you..." he blinked back tears, "now all you need to do is get better. Okay?"

"Please, momma..." he whispered, "Stay with me... please..."

"You have to get better, okay?"

Aegir's first foray into the marauder's art was when his mother fell ill. They didn't know what it was that she'd come down with, but it kept her abed for a couple moons.

As such, Aegir stepped up to keep their farm afloat while she rested. His payout was enough to see them through it, but every day he would come with uncertainty in his heart to her bedside, and pray to any gods willing to listen for her swift recovery.

His biggest wish is for her to live out her life for as many years as she's able. Selfish, probably, but she's all he has.

Do you guys think Grover still blames himself for everything that happened to Percy in those first few days that he found out he was a demigod?

Like the furies and the Minotaur attacking and him not being able to sense it beforehand? Or Percy losing his mom?

Ik Percy chose him for the quest and told him he trusts him but I feel like Grover still feels guilty and because of that he isn’t 100% sure when he and Percy stand.

I say this because after finding out Percy wasn’t dead at the beginning of ep 5, we didn’t see any kind of hug or any outward emotions besides a little glib comment about him being alive? Like aren’t they best friends? They’ve been friends for years atp? Where’s the friendship?

Because him having to stay behind w ares and telling Percy he’ll be okay and not to worry kinda feels like him trying to make it up to Percy a little for what’s gone wrong on his watch.

And that guilt isn’t helped by the fact that Sally’s dying wish was for Grover to look after Percy when he feels like he couldn’t do it well enough the first time.

Maybe I’m just making excuses and reading into something that’s really just a script thing and not a character thing.
