Skye I return and I come bearing questions for Story of Magus!
What exactly is a "firebrand" are they kinda like a fire bender (fire witch?) or is it something completely different?
What does Archmages allow the students to learn and not learn?
How does the role of konyenon keep the city safe?
I see in the warning "drowning" so tell me (if you're willing) what's in the lake beneath the city or better yet what do the city goers believe to be below the surface of that water?
-HD
ahh these are all fantastic questions! welcome back!
“firebrand” is just a nice word that i thought described felix’s personality. although, maybe i can work with that…
i’m still working through the details of what students at the academy are taught. i’m mulling over the idea that the academy itself is basically just a front to allow Valerius to screen kids with strong magical ability without actually teaching them anything substantial. but for a more concrete answer, i know for a fact that they’re taught mostly harmless Bright magic, like Light spells, simple Holding spells, basic Bright magic theory, and lots of severely skewed history lol. they would withhold anything that might make the students a threat or a liability like Fly spells or any sort of offensive magic. when i know more about exactly what Bright magic can do, i’ll have a better answer hehe
the konyenon is Valerius’ most important figure (on the surface anyway). they are supposed to be a very powerful Bright mage whose job is to keep Valerius afloat (the public isn’t informed of the details). over time the Archmages have conflated that role with a sort of psuedo-religious savior figure, which is very useful for manipulating their citizens. there’s a lot of talk of sacrifice and angelic imagery. but what the konyenon actually does is one of Valerius’ greatest secrets >:) i’m not gonna reveal it just yet! still trying to decide how open i want to be about the plot of my WIPs lol
ah yes the lake. (as an aside, i love your questions because they reveal just how much worldbuilding i still have to do haha)
i will admit, i am entertaining the idea of there being some kind of monster in the lake. but i think it would be more thematically appropriate to include something benevolent, or at least harmless. as for Valerius, i’m not sure if they would know it even exists. there is a tall wall around the edge of the island, which actually does prevent people from falling off the damn thing (and shields them from stray enchantments floating through the air) (AND protects against creatures lol) but it also means that citizens of Valerius don’t really have a view of the surface. they have to rely on what the Archmages tell them about it.
but i do like the idea of the Shadow Mages of Camaerahh having a relationship with the lake. i haven’t talked much about them because i’ve focused a lot on Valerius, but the Shadow Mages see the lake as a bastion of life. it’s a great source of food and the land surrounding it is healthy. it was formed in the crater of Valerius, and so in some ways it’s free of the magical fallout that covers the rest of the world, being newer than all of it.
thank you again for the great questions!!

I woke up clonked the tf out after Paramore, so here's the general ~vibes~ of the Paramore concert in SF, written still in my concert makeup (which i know is really bad, but hey, the copper glitter held up well):
Security: not much line at 7:20pm. I went alone, so I asked a kind couple to take a photo for me in front of the big yellow Paramore screens.
People watching: There was a lot of different people at the concert: Couples going on dates, people with families, people in orange Hayley wigs, etc. There was a lot of really cool alt/emo people in black eyeliner and boots and ngl it was a little intimidating bc there was so many gorgeous women in the vicinity that my brain glitched out for a second. I didn't have the courage to go up to random people to give bracelets to, but I did end up giving all of the bracelets I made to people near me in lines!
Merch: I stood in line for merch about 20-30 mintues? The lines wasn't too bad and I got the xray shirt I wanted in my size.
Paramore started at 8:30: It was a rescheduled show, so only 1 opening act, so the band started at 8:30, and hearing You First as opener was amazing. I had a seat in the 100s near the stage setup, so it was a cool view. The geometric lighting structures (?) moved and there's was a LOT of cool lighting.
Hayley sounded amazing, and she was so fucking dynamic on stage!!! She said she was still sick :( but still, she put on an amazing performance. (Hayley Williams I love you)
We put on the flashlight for Last Hope, and before Big Man, Little Dignity, Hayley had a speech about holding people in power accountable, and to go Vote!!! Super important, and it was fun to hold up our pinkies in the air with her.
Liar, Crystal Clear had Hayley and Zac on a tall platform behind the main stage, and it was cool to see the different stage set ups. the lights were dimmed, it was a really intimate and emotional moment with those songs.
After Hard Times, Hayley spoke about Paramore being a band and people (aka those who write shitty concert review articles) not understanding that in the twenty years of their career. She introduced the band, and the cheers for Zac and Taylor especially was loud! It was so funny since they jokingly played off as being shy but would gesture to keep going :D (The trio being best friends since 7th grade... ough best friends who are best friends who are in a band together)
Before Figue 8, there was a medical emergency in the pit. It was more serious than pausing and having people shuffle over, so the band left the stage for a moment, let the medics handle it. Glad people were able to get help right away.
Hayley teased us asking if we wanted a banger or a emo song, and it was Figure 8 and The Only Exception. Figure 8 was fantastic. The Only Exception was like. a spiritual experience tbh. My voice doesn't allow actual screaming but I sang along and it was just amazing. The light was dimmed, there was smoke on the stage making everything look so mgical and beautiful.
Baby was so fun, lots of people were singing along and the shouting Baby! back and forth was so fun.
Before Misery Business, Hayley was like "how many elder emos are here" which lol. Misery Business is of course, iconic, and the crowd was SO loud singing along. And then, boom, Steph Curry on stage?!?!? It was so funny and so great!
Ain't It Fun was also another great concert moment. You can't /not/ sing along with Aint It Fun.
Still Into You!!!!!!! I'm being very cliche, but Still Into You was one of the songs I was most looking foward to at the show. It's a big hit, they've played it a million times, la da, but it was my first Paramore show and Still Into You was /the/ first Paramore song I've ever listened to. I loved singing along!!!!
The last song was This Is Why! and was such a high to end the show.
The show ended at 10:35 and I had to rush out to catch the bus + train + bus. Talked to some people at the train platform and after I said I also went to the FOB show a couple weeks ago, they asked me how old I was (they were 9 years older) and were like "omg we were worried the emos were gonna die out after us, you're a baby!" which was funny. They were really nice!
Had an amazing time, would 100% go again╰(*°▽°*)╯

Thanks, Idiots
Word Count: 3104
A/N: fluff. Lots of fluff. Hella fluffy Sweet Pea just adorableness okay? (Readers personality is lowkey inspired by me cause I’d rather be at my gym than a party any night. Well, unless Sweet Pea was actually there then I might make an exception lol 😂)
Warnings: swearing, alcohol, Fangs being a sneaky boi
———
~~
_
To put it simply, you hated parties. People were loud and got drunk and did stupid shit, and the only way you could forget it was if you drank. Unfortunately, drinking to forget results in a massive hangover, which is almost worse than the party itself.
Your best friend Fangs, on the other hand, loves parties. It was one of the only things you both disagreed about; he saw them as a fun way to get drunk for free and have a good time. And you, well, you’d rather be at your gym, pounding a punching bag or sparring with one of the coaches.
That being said, tonight Fangs had managed to drag you out of the gym and to Toni’s trailer to get ready for a party. You were friends with Toni, but you hadn’t known her since birth like Fangs, so you were slightly uncomfortable when she told you to strip and tossed you an outfit.
‘Damn,’ you thought as you looked yourself over. You fingered the black suede skirt Toni had lent you. She’d paired it with a black brallete and a sheer long sleeved crop top, black ankle boots, and she’d let you keep your leather jacket.
Toni pushed you into a chair and fussed with your hair and makeup for a good fifteen minutes before declaring you party ready. She already looked great in thigh high boots and a tight red dress.
Looking in the mirror, you couldn’t help but gasp. Your hair looked fantastic and your makeup was on point.
“Thanks Toni,” you said, grinning. She offered you a smirk.
“You look great, girl. Let’s go kill it.”
______
“Damn, what happened to my tomboy best friend?” Fangs teased, reaching out to ruffle your hair. Toni grabbed his wrist and gave him a death glare.
“I spent forever doing her hair. Touch it, and you’re dead.”
You giggled at Toni’s dramatics and straddled your bike. “What rich Northsiders house are we invading?”
“Reggie Mantles’.” Fangs nodded as your jaw dropped. “Apparently he’s cool with the Southsiders now that Sweet Pea’s on the basketball team.”
“I still haven’t met Sweet Pea,” you remarked as you fastened your helmet.
“Ooh, I’ve gotta introduce you,” Toni gave you a look you couldn’t quite read before starting up her bike. You and Fangs followed suit, and Fangs took the lead, you and Toni following him to the Mantles’ house.
________
Several other bikes were already there when you pulled up. Fangs led the way again, parking next to a brat style cb550. You parked next to him, and Toni beside you. You let out a low whistle.
“Nice bike.”
Toni and Fangs shared a smirk.
“They’re gonna get along great.” Toni said easily as she dismounted her bike. You got off yours as well, taking a moment to adjust your skirt as you stared in wonder at the huge house in front of you. Well, house was hardly the word for it. It was practically a mansion.
“Hey,” you snapped at Fangs, “you’re not ditching me tonight.” He smirked.
“I won’t leave you alone. Promise.”
You rolled your eyes, following Toni up the steps toward the noise of the house. She pulled the door open and the noise hit you hard. Music, people, yelling, laughing. Loud would be an understatement.
The smell of cheep alcohol invaded your nose as you followed your friends to the kitchen. Although you knew other Southside students would be there, the amount of Serpents in the house surprised you. And the amount of leather.
Fangs grabbed your hand as he dragged you through the crowd, Toni breaking away from your group when she saw someone she knew. Fangs led you around the island, which was loaded up with cans of beer, red solo cups and a punch bowl that was probably spiked. He pressed a cup into your free hand.
“Drink up!” He called.
The kitchen was crowded and the lights had been lowered. The space was instead illuminated by a disco ball on top of a cabinet and a LightIn The Box, which was currently blue. You wrinkled your nose as you narrowly escaped collision with a drunk boy who reeked of beer.
“Fangs, where are we going?” You shouted, trying to be heard over the noise and music. You doubted he heard you until he looked back and flashed you a grin.
“Almost there!”
You followed along blindly as you were led down a staircase at the back of the kitchen, doing your best to drink without spilling red punch everywhere. The downstairs was a giant den with a tv and several couches. Over the crowd of people you could see open double doors on the far side of the room, leading to the pool and backyard.
Fangs stopped next to a small kitchenette you hadn’t noticed, which a group of Serpents seemed to have claimed. A short blonde girl was pouring drinks and handing them out; a dark haired boy was slamming back jello shots as his friends cheered him on.
“See. Fun, right?” Fangs asked, pulling you to stand next to the counter. You gave him a disapproving look as you finished the rest of your drink.
Fangs squinted as he glanced around the room, looking between you and the counter before motioning for you to sit on it. You quirked a brow but did as he asked.
“This way I won’t lose you. Shorty.” He said, smirking. You glared at him.
“I’m not short. You’re just tall.”
“Whatever you say, munchkin.” He pressed a kiss to your cheek. “I’m gonna go grab more drinks from upstairs and find somebody. I’ll be back.”
“No,” you whined. “I don’t wanna be alone.” He held up two fingers, your silent way of letting each other know how long you’d be gone. You pouted as he grinned and turned, starting toward the stairs. You lost sight of him only a moment later when a moving wall blocked your view. Okay, maybe not a wall. A person. An extremely tall person.
Your eyes moved up, and up, and up, taking in a leather jacket, dog tags and a Serpent tattoo. You finally found the face of the person in front of you and you had to remind yourself not to let your jaw fall open. Dark messy hair, dark eyes and high cheekbones.
‘Hot damn,’ you thought. His mouth curled up into a smirk and you almost wondered if you’d said it aloud.
“Can I help you?” You asked. He moved to lean on the counter, crossing his arms.
“You must be Fangs’ girlfriend.” His voice was gruff and had a slight tone of annoyance to it. You blinked a few times in confusion.
“Excuse me?”
“Yeah, just saw him kiss you then go upstairs. You’re not together?” If he didn’t stop looking at you like that you weren’t going to be able to control your blush. His words finally registered and you let out a laugh.
“No, we’re not together. He’s my best friend though.”
“Well that’s good. I didn’t wanna have to fight my friend for your attention.”
This time you couldn’t control it, and you felt your face heat up, which made the boy chuckle.
“So, you’re a Serpent?” You asked, desperate to move the conversation in a different direction. He tilted his head to the side, exposing his tattoo even more. You forced yourself to look away from his neck and keep talking.
“So one of those bikes out front is yours?”
“Yeah, it’s a Honda.” Your eyes lit up.
“It wouldn’t happen to be the cb550, would it?”
His yes widened in surprise as an impressed look took over his face.
“Yeah, actually. It is. So I take it you know a thing or two about motorcycles?”
You laughed. “You could say that. I’ve got a ‘72 Harley, and I work at my brothers shop on the Southside. We mostly fix bikes.”
“Well then, my respect has doubled. That’s not an easy job.” He said as his gaze took you in. “Imagine that. A beautiful mechanic who cleans up pretty damn good.”
Your face flushed again, but before you had to say anything, Fangs appeared with a drink in each hand. You gratefully took one, gulping the alcohol as Fangs greeted the other boy.
“Hey, Sweet Pea! You met Y/n.”
You choked a little. “Wait, this is Sweet Pea?”
Fangs gave you a half confused half smug look. “Yeah, why? Did he not introduce himself?”
“He didn’t, actually.” You gave Sweet Pea a pointed look. He held his hands up.
“Hey, don’t blame me. I didn’t know I was that important.” Fangs scoffed.
“Sure. Well, you both seem to be getting along great. I’m gonna go...find...someone.”
Fangs turned to leave again but your hand flew out and caught his arm.
“Excuse us for a second, Sweet Pea.” You set your drink down and hopped off the counter, dragging Fangs a few feet away. The noise of the party covered your conversation well enough that no one would be able to hear you.
“You said you weren’t going to ditch me!” You accused, smacking his arm.
“No.” The smug look was back. “I said I wouldn’t leave you alone. You’re not alone, you’ve got Sweet Pea!”
You groaned. “Fangs, I barely know him. And besides, I think he was hitting on me,” you pouted.
“Yeah, well look at yourself, Y/n! You look hot. I’d be more worried if he wasn’t hitting on you. That might be a sign of a concussion.” He said seriously. You groaned and hit him again.
“Not helping!”
Fangs rolled his eyes. “Well I’m gonna go hit on someone, so if you wanna be around for that you’re welcome to come with me.”
You screwed up your face. “Gross. No thanks.”
“That’s what I thought.” He squished your face with one hand before rushing off, leaving you there with Sweet Pea. You rolled your eyes at your best friends retreating figure, grabbing a drink from the island and walking back to Sweet Pea. His eyes were still on you as you returned, but he now had a drink in his hand.
“Sorry about him.” You both said together. You both began laughing, and you had to put your drink down to avoid spilling it.
“No really, he’s being weird tonight,” you said between laughs. Sweet Pea nodded, a grin still in his face.
“Yeah, he was acting weird yesterday too. I wonder what’s up with him.”
You shrugged. ”I have no idea. He never tries to make me come to parties, but he was insistent on this one.”
Sweet Pea wet his lips. “Well I’m glad he was.”
You took a step back and looked up at him in surprise. A soft smile formed on your lips. “I am too.”
Conversation flowed easily after that. You were now, more or less, pretty tipsy. Sweet Pea caught on once you started to take a little longer to answer him.
“Okay,” he chuckled. “I think you’ve had enough alcohol.” He grabbed your cup from you and put it on top of the cabinet, barley having to stretch to reach it.
“Hey!” You protested, laughing. Your face heated up as you caught yourself staring at his chest and arms.
‘Dammit,’ you thought. ‘What is wrong with me?’
You snapped back to reality just as Sweets turned back to you.
“Hey, do you wanna go dance?” He asked, gesturing you toward upstairs where the music was coming from. You smiled and nodded.
“Yeah, I’d like that.”
Sweet Pea grabbed your hand and led you upstairs, past groups of drunk teenagers and around piles of empty solo cups. The music got loud as you approached what you assumed was normally the living room. Another string of lights was the only thing lighting up the room. The lights flickered and changed with the beat of the music, going from blue to purple to red. The effect threw shadows across the crowd of sweaty teenagers dancing in time with the music.
Sweet Pea pulled you into the middle of the dance floor, letting go of you as you turned around, pressing your back against his chest. His hands settled on your hips as your body moved with the music. He whispered a stupid joke in your ear and you laughed loudly, turning to face him as you danced.
By the third song, you were both breathing hard, and Sweet Pea suggested you go get drinks. You gratefully agreed, following him into the kitchen. You hadn’t even made it out of the living room when you got separated in the crowd. You could see Sweet Pea but you couldn’t get to him; too many people were pushing against you as you found yourself back in the living room. You groaned in frustration, ready to try and push your way into the kitchen again when someone’s large hand slipped into yours. You looked up to see Sweet Pea with a soft smile on his face. He held up your intertwined hands.
“Now I won’t loose you,” he said. With your hands laced together, Sweet Pea led you to the kitchen again. This time you made it without getting separated.
Sweet Pea poured you a drink from the punch bowl before making one for himself and taking your hand again. He brought you out to the deck, and you were surprised to find it empty.
Someone had left a few picnic blankets folded on top of the covered hot tub in the corner. Sweet Pea set his drink on the rail of the deck and quickly made a pallet on the floor. He grabbed his drink and took your hand, helping you sit down before joining you. Even sitting up with his back against the house, Sweet Pea’s legs were still longer than the blankets and his feet hung off the pallet, which made you giggle.
“What’s so funny princess?” His words were finally becoming a bit slurred, which made you laugh more.
“You’re so tall, Sweets,” you laughed. “And you’re getting drunk.”
“I’m not as drunk as you are,” he countered, taking a sip of his drink. “But I am a little tipsy.”
“Well I think you’re cute when you’re drunk.” You took a sip of your drink, completely missing the blush that was covering Sweet Pea’s face.
“Well then I’d happily be drunk anytime.” He murmured softly.
_______
You weren’t sure what time it was. You and Sweet Pea had finished your drinks and laid down a long time ago. First you had looked at the stars and pointed out constellations, Sweet Pea finding some kind of snake nearly every time. But now you were just talking. About anything and everything. And you were impressed. Sweet Pea was insanely smart, and pretty much any topic you could think of, Sweet Pea could talk to you about.
All the drinks you’d had had died down to a faint buzz; just enough to make you think all of Sweet Pea’s jokes were funny. (Although you were sure you’d think he was funny even without the alcohol.)
The night had cooled off since you had gotten to the party, so Sweet Pea insisted that you snuggle him. For warmth, of course.
So there you were; curled up against the giant Serpent boy, with your head on his chest and his jacket draped over your legs. (He has worn a long sleeved shirt, so he insisted you take his jacket when you started to shiver.)
You breathed deeply, taking in his scent. He smelled a little like your shop, leather, and an earthy smell you couldn’t place. You curled in a bit closer to him. Damn, you could get used to this.
“What are you thinking about?” He asked quietly, fingers tracing patterns on your shoulder. You tilted your head up at him and your lips curved into a smile.
“Just that I really like you. And how I could get used to this cuddling thing.”
He chuckled. “Well I really like you too, princess. And the cuddling. This is nice.”
You snuggled into his side again. “I agree.”
He was silent for a moment, and you looked back up at him to see his brows drawn together, deep in thought.
“What are you thinking about?” You asked his question back to him, putting an emphasis on the word ‘you’.
A smile crossed his face as he looked down at you.
“Just that...well...okay this is gonna sound kinda dumb,” he looked at you hesitantly and you sat up. Sweet Pea sat up too, ad you took his hand, giving him an encouraging nod.
“It won’t.”
“Okay,” he sighed. “So...shit, this sounds so cheesy. Okay, I know we just met, but I really like you, Y/n. And, I’m not the kind of guy who’s good with casual hook ups whenever it’s convenient to be in each other’s lives. I want a real relationship. And I don’t mean to scare you,” his eyes searched yours quickly, and your heart hurt from the amount of fear they held. “But, I’d like to ask you out. If you’d like to.”
You gave him a gentle smile, cupping his cheek with your hand. He immediately leaned into your touch.
“Sweet Pea, I’d love that.”
He grinned. “Really?”
You nodded, leaning forward and pressing a quick kiss to his lips. You pulled away quickly leaving a dazed smile on his face. He laughed.
“Wait a second. That definitely wasn’t long enough.” He said, grinning. You smiled, brushing your thumb along his cheek.
“Well you’re in luck, Sweets. I agree with you.”
————-
“I knew it. You owe me five bucks.”
“No way, we both called this. Let me see?”
Toni handed Fangs the binoculars and stepped back as Fangs pushed through the bushes to get closer.
“Damn,” he said after a minute. “We’re great at this. High five!”
He and Toni laughed as they high fived one another.
“Get outta here, you two!” Sweet Peas deep voice called from the balcony, making Toni and Fangs jump before taking off, running toward their bikes.
“Next time, we’re doing a stealth operation!” Fangs called to Toni.
“How about there isn’t a next time!” She retorted as they both hopped on their bikes, starting them up and racing out of Reggie’s driveway.
Up on the balcony, you and Sweet Pea were still laughing.
“We should send them a thank you card,” you mused, leaning into Sweet Pea’s side.
“Yeah,” he pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “Maybe we should.”

Live Report the Gazette @ le Bataclan 06/14/19
This was meant to be a three sentence post about my feelings for the live but somehow it took on a life on its own, so have my own, amateurish attempt at a live report 笑 I don't even know where to begin.
Our day (us being the lovely @ino-en-blue and me) started at 7:30am. We got up and got ready to leave for the venue. We left at 8am, and arrived at the venue shortly before 9am. We got our numbers for the queue, which a friend kindly reserved for us. We were 47th and 48th in line for VIP. For the first 3h, we just sat in front of the venue. We met up with @kagefumin and other lovely people. Most of the time we just spent chatting, and eating and playing some card games (which Milo won and I was last at 笑). At around 9am, the tour bus with the staff and the musical equipment arrived. They told us to move away from the venue a bit, so they could get everything inside. One staff member also informed us that the Gazette were not on that bus themselves, but that they would arrive in another one at a later time. (At roughly the same time, Kai posted about his troubles with the cup of coffee on instagram 笑.) We also got to sign one of the banners that some lovely fans had prepared (there were two of those banners floating around for fans to sign, but we only left our signatures on one of them.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At about 1pm, the French fans organizing everything told us that staff required us to leave our waiting area in front of the venue, since we were getting in the way of the adjacent shops and passersby. We grabbed our stuff, and moved across the street to the nearby park. Thanks to the numbering system, we didn't have to worry about leaving our spot at all, since we would be sorted by numbers again in queue later on.
At the park, we waited some more, met some more people, and pretty much just chatted and rested a bit. I spotted two awesome cosplayers, and was really impressed by their costumes and appearances, and the dedication and efforts they put into creating their cosplays. It was also awesome to see some cosplayers in the flesh. At about 2:30pm we left the park for a while to get some food. When we got back, the organizers informed us that they would hand out glow sticks to everyone to ignite and hold up during the ballads (I think we ignited some of them prematurely by having glow stick battles in line 笑 though it was hard to tell in the sun). Then we got asked to line up outside the park by numbers. Heresy members got the chance to pick up the Heresy exclusive gift, a wristband. Then we got back in line, and at 5pm they started to lead the first VIP groups back to the venue, where we waited some more. We also took a bunch of cute pictures while we were waiting. At 6pm, staff finally started to let us into the venue. Security checked both bags and persons, then let us enter the venue. Inside, we were given the chance to drop our bags off at the cloakroom, and we were handed the VIP gift towels (made of microfiber). At the left side of the entrance room, there were boxes for the members' gifts. Staff told us we had to drop all gifts into the boxes, we were not allowed to hand them to the members personally during the meet & greet. We also got informed that the guys were running late, which is probably one of the reasons why the meet & greet was so rushed. It took place before the actual live, which was kinda meh imo, since that also meant the meeting was going to be rushed and very short. In line, we were told only handshakes were allowed, though I later heard a bunch of fans screwed the rules as usual, and asked for hugs nevertheless.
As said before, the m&g was really rushed, which was kinda disappointing, tbh. It started with Uruha, and all I was really able to do was shake their hands and tell them thank you as they also thanked us. They all looked gorgeous, and they were really sweet and polite. Meeting Uruha and Ruki is already a blur for me, I have to admit, but I think they were smiling politely. Kai and Reita were real sweethearts, they were grinning happily and warmly, and they both took my hand in both of theirs. Last was Aoi. Oh boy. He was... stunningly beautiful. I mean, obviously they all were, but the whole "pictures don't do them justice" felt especially true with him. He was simply breathtaking. Also, even though they were all wearing heavy makeup, to me it seemed like he wasn't wearing as much as the others — or it just looked more natural, idk, I can‘t really describe it. He simply looked incredibly handsome. When he saw me... I swear I could read his thoughts off his face & the look he gave me. It was so obvious it was downright cute. Like, I'm not only only 1,50m (4'11") small, I also look very young (people often estimate my age to be around 12-14). So I KNOW that look that people usually give me. And he had the exact same look on his face, "Omg you're a child, what's a child doing here?!" I just could read his surprise & confusion off his face, so I gave him a half knowing, half awkward smile. At that, his confusion disappeared and he smiled back. RIP me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We managed to snatch second row, in the center, with Ruki's platform right in front of us and Kai's drum set behind. Staff were setting up the technological equipment and the instruments. Luckily, there wasn't much of a line yet in front of the merch store, so we rushed over there and managed to snatch the stuff we wanted to get (though they accidentally messed up sizes for two of our shirts, and my friend Ino ended up with the S I was looking to get for my shirt and I ended up with an L but oh well, we'll manage). Getting back in line was a bit of a hassle, since I think people thought we were trying to cut in line, when we were just trying to get back to our friends 笑. Then we waited some more while some rock music was playing. I was standing behind some Japanese fans, and the guy was sadly fairly tall, which blocked a big part of my view to the stage. In general, I didn't have much space to move around or even place my feet anywhere to stand properly lol. With this uncomfortable position, I waited amongst my friends some more, and we were growing more and more excited as well as impatient. Some time later, they started to let in General Audience. Then, a staff member came on stage. He asked us whether we were ready to see the Gazette, and the whole room just went nuts. He informed us that taking any pictures or videos during the live was strictly forbidden, and that cellphones mustn't be used. At that, most people applauded, though some people of course booed *rolls eyes*. But as far as I know, most people kept to the rule, we didn't see any phones around the first few rows of the audience at all. Finally, quite on time (as far as I could tell), the lights went off and the live started.
99.999 started playing, and the whole audience lost their shit. During the SE, the guys came on stage one after one, starting by Kai (if I recall correctly). Ruki came in last. Falling started and the audience went completely nuts. Most of the performance is just a blur to me now, and I sadly didn't see much of Uruha or Kai from my position, so I won't be talking about each song individually. At first, I barely could see Ruki and Reita from my gap, but as the live progressed, I ended up in a slightly changed position, which gave me less of a view on Ruki but therefore I had Aoi perfectly in sight for the rest of the live. The boys were all in top condition. Ruki's vocals were on point, his screams and growls were to die for. Reita was playful during the entire live, licking his fingers a bunch of times and showing his tongue (similarly to his selfie he posted on Instagram later lol see at the end of the report), or coming to the front of the stage to jam there. Aoi mostly kept in his spot, but he smiled inwardly the whole time. He looked especially happy and proud during the NINTH songs, when the audience went nuts and sang along to them, and I was under the impression it made him really happy how much we responded to their new songs. Ruki made some of his cute little dances, and also touched himself during a few songs (though I couldn't name any of them in hindsight except for Filth in the Beauty), or just tugged at the hem of his purple suit to reveal more of his chest. Overall, he was just being his enthusiastic and dramatic self while performing. They were all extremely on point for most of the live (I only heard someone say Ruki's timing was a bit off during Tomorrow Never Dies and Kai apparently shot him a confused glance, but I myself did not catch that). Sadly, as mentioned before, I barely saw Uruha from my position, and I also focused on Aoi most of the time 笑. I managed to catch a few glimpses of him during some of his solos though, which were absolutely fantastic. I also heard he went down on his knees quite a lot and headbanged often, but I failed to catch any of it.
The first few songs were a blast (I'll post a photo of the setlist down below), though I had difficulties enjoying and focusing on them from time to time since people began to push like crazy from the back, and I had to concentrate quite often on not getting squished. That's why I sadly can‘t say much more to their actual performance onstage (also, the songs involved a lot of headbanging so there was no time to focus on the stage, naturally lol). I did catch Aoi accidentally stepping on the cord of Ruki's microphone, and grinning apologetically before stepping off again. During その声は脆く, people got out their glow sticks and waved them around. Until the first chorus, Aoi was actually sitting down on a stool, I think (at least that's what it looked like from my position). Contrary to what I thought from listening to the song on headphones, they did not actually share the guitar solo, but Uruha performed the solo by himself (which, ngl, I was a bit disappointed about). He did a great job at the solo though! I still would've loved and died if they had shared the solo and switched in between the way it also sounds like if you listen to the song via headphones. I was ecstatic that they played Dogma, and during VORTEX and The Suicide Circus, the audience sang along wholeheartedly (e.g., the 'tick tock' part was sung solely by the audience). During one of the songs (sadly I don't remember which it was, might've been UGLY or Tomorrow Never Dies) when they were firing up the audience, Ruki actually walked along the edge of the stage and held out the microphone to the audience to catch and amplify our shouts. He also gave some fans high fives during one of the songs (sorry, again, I don't actually remember during which song, everything's already a blur OTL). The last song on the main list they played was Filth in the Beauty. Afterwards, they left the stage, and Kai came up to the front of the stage and we cheered on him as loudly as we could.
Tumblr media
Between songs, Ruki actually spoke some French phrases (like "Bonsoir", "Ça va" and "Nous sommes the Gazette"), which was really cute and adorable! He also made several 'it's so hot' gestures, like fanning himself and sticking his tongue out.
Then we were waiting for the encore, and boy, I did not have any strength left by then. Other people seemed to be the same, and the encore calls came and went in waves like the tide. I think everyone was struggling with their energy reserves by then, and temporarily, I got worried that our encore calls lacked the energy and enthusiasm which would encourage them to come out again. Alas, apparently it was still enough, and they came out again. I was so happy and relieved. Uruha, Kai and Aoi were wearing some of the World Tour shirts (Aoi's tattoo actually peaked out from underneath his sleeve *drools*), Reita and Ruki were still in their costumes. Reita was carrying the French Gazette flag, he showed it to us, then put it on display on Ruki's platform. Aoi brought out another flag, a fan-made one, which had the dates of the live, the Gazette logo and chibi drawings of the members on it. He showed it around and looked so fucking adorably proud as he did so, I can't even put it into words.
When all of them except for Ruki had come out, we started to sing Happy Birthday for Uruha as a late gift. The other members caught up quite quickly, but he himself seemed rather oblivious at first 笑. It wasn't until Reita and Kai pointed it out to him that he understood the song was actually for him. He pointed at himself in surprise, but in the end bowed and thanked us. Kai yelled "Happy Birthday, Uruha!!" into his microphone, then Uruha pointed at Reita and Kai went "Now do it for him", to which Reita shook his head no almost panicky lol. Kai shouted a few phrases in English at us ("Bring it on!" and "You [yes, he made that cute grammatical error, it was endearing] fucking amazing!" are the ones I recall), then, they started to play Inside Beast. Everyone was firing up the audience, and Aoi and Ruki both gestured at us that we weren't loud enough. Aoi even shook his head in disapproval. At one point during the song, Aoi actually blew the audience a kiss *dies*.
Next up was Shiver. Oh boy. I know there's a lot of people who don't particularly like that song, but it is a true blast live. All songs are, of course, but I feel like this is one of the songs the studio version does no justice at all. It was amazing, and Uruha's solo was on point. Aoi's solo though truly hit me, it was beautiful and perfect, and he looked so happy performing it (yes, I know, I'm biased 笑), it made me wish he got to play more solos; he seemed to really liven up during the solo.
People who have been following me for a while know that I'm a hardcore Aoiki shipper. And I fucking can‘t believe it. It actually happened. Right in front of my eyes. During a live that I attended. At one point during Shiver, Ruki walked over to Aoi, and smacked his butt firmly. Aoi grinned. And I died. I screamed so loudly, I think I caused everyone around me to go deaf. I'm so happy that I actually got blessed with Aoiki fanservice the one time I attended a live. What are the odds? (Even in a non-shippy way, it was a true blessing to witness this kind of interaction between the two members I love the most.)
But to make this night truly unforgettable for me, they closed the live with Tomorrow Never Dies. Again, there are a lot of people who greatly dislike the fact that they play this song a lot, but I was extremely happy. There's just something magical, moving and powerful about the feeling of singing "Don't kill yourself" along with Ruki, it touched me greatly. During the song, he walked over to Uruha to rest his arm on his shoulder. Then, he pretended to readjust his guitar strings to which Uruha shot him a "don't you dare mess with her" glance, before Ruki jammed out to the tunes of his guitar. (Side note: Uruki is my second favorite ship, so to get this cute interaction on top was just the fucking cherry on top!) During the song, Ruki grabbed some bottles of water and sprayed us with them (bless him so much omg we truly needed it), then threw the bottles into the audience. At the end of the song, he spew his fountain of water as usual. At one point during the song, Reita went over to Kai's platform to jam out with him, which was adorable af and made me extremely happy. Uruha's solo was killer, and Ruki's a capella part was to die for, as always.
When the song was over, they thanked us, and Aoi, Reita and Uruha threw their remaining picks into the audience. Sadly, Aoi mostly focused on his part of the stage, I would've loved to get one of his picks. But don't be too greedy, right? I was already beyond happy with the things I did get that night. Kai took a picture of the audience from behind his drum set, then walked up and jumped onto Ruki's platform to be properly celebrated like the king he is. He looked truly stunning up close, up on that platform towering above us, while the others left the stage (if I recall correctly, Ruki wrapped himself into the French flag as he thanked us.) Then, Kai left after the others, and the live was officially over.
We pretty much gathered our things, rested a bit on the floor until staff kicked us out lol. A friend went back to the merch store to change their hoodie to a different size, then we collected our stuff from the cloakroom and left the venue. In front of the venue, we met up with some people again, and chatted some more. We said goodbye to people, and rested in front of the tour bus for a while longer. There was a guy selling posters of the live, and another one (I think he was staff) asked us whether we would wait on the band to come out; which apparently was possible and allowed, but it would've taken 2-3 hours of more wait, and since we were tired and exhausted and drenched af, we decided against it. We changed into some dried clothes (we got from the merch store), and eventually made our way to the subway, and home.
There are some extra things I wanna mention but did not know where to put them in the actual report, so I'll just add them here. As mentioned before, the French fans organizing everything and keeping everything in order were doing an amazing job. I wish there was a way to thank them properly. Also, during the live, staff handed bottles of water around and "fed" us with it to keep us hydrated. Twice, the dude poured the water all over my chin, and I actually got some in my nose as well, which was rather unpleasant. But as such, the water was a true blessing. I just had my whole shirt soaked by it, which was why I was freezing once we got out of the venue. The hoodie I managed to snatch from the merch store and changed into helped keep me warm and comfortable though, bless Ruki!
Also, outside the venue after the live there was a girl just giving away some of her popsicles, which was incredibly generous and thoughtful — not all heroes wear capes!
There was a bunch of shoving and squishing going on during the live to the point I barely had a square meter left to stand and move around, and I had to focus a lot of energy and attention into bracing myself against the shoves from behind while simultaneously trying not to get hit by any body parts from the front (I actually took an elbow to the lip LOL as expected). Other than that, the fans were all really polite and some were truly considerate. The guy next to me actually offered to trade places with me so I could see a bit better, which was extremely kind of him.
During one of the closing songs (it was either Filth in the Beauty or Tomorrow Never Dies), some people threw some stuff onstage, sadly. At the time, I couldn't tell what it had been, I only saw something hit the stage, and Ruki look at the floor in both amusement and a bit of weirded out awkwardness. Later on, I heard it had actually been a glow stick and a shirt that had been thrown onstage (and had been aimed at Ruki). Other than that, there were no remarkable (negative) instances. The guys did look really happy, and I hope, from the bottom of my heart, that they were enjoying themselves. Even with the negative things (e.g. the shoving, etc.) I was still having the time of my life. I never pushed my body to and over its limits like that ever before, and the guys were worth every second of it. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to see them live, and I'm so grateful for what this band has done for any of us, and me in particular, and that they continue to do for us and give us. They deserve the world, and I'm so happy and grateful I got to be part of theirs for one night. They were simply amazing, and it's true that any studio version, and any report or picture doesn't do them any justice. They're so incredibly talented, and they perform with such professionalism yet passion it's awe-inspiring. Even if I could remember more about their musical performances in depth, I wouldn't even know how to put it into words.
I hope I'll get to experience them live again one day.
I was also overjoyed to meet people I had been friends with for a while online irl for the very first time. You are all so damn sweet and I was so happy to meet all of you in person. And to meet such lovely people for the first time (I'd love to tag you all in this, but most of you don't have a tumblr, I think 笑). I hope to also see all of you again one day!

Firsts at Fifty, aka Heather’s First Foursome (Heather’s View)
[Editor’s note: this is Heather’s version of the Heather’s First Foursome story. She enjoys writing and erotica, and we agreed it would be fun to tell the story from our separate perspectives. And when we shared the idea with Adam he thought that sounded like fun, so we may even get him in on the act!]
I feel fantastically free and flirty in my 50’s and I’m having so much fun!  Sex has been a fantastic way to express my new life and I’m exploring my sexuality and fulfilling my fantasies.  So, I am recently divorced after many years of marriage, from someone I met in graduate school and even though we weren’t always monogamous, my experiences have been rather vanilla.
So, I met Dean on OKC about six-seven weeks ago and he seemed sexy, fun, and respectful. [Editor’s note: note the appropriate choice of the word seemed... ;-)] He is tall, very cute, and a great lover and he’s got a few tricks that I very much enjoy.  So, when he has asked if I was up for a foursome, I enthusiastically agreed.
Dean set up a group chat with this lovely couple and we started texting, flirting, and sharing sexy pictures.  Jennifer and Adam are very attractive and the as conversation progressed, it seemed like we all might like each other.  Like Dean said, we all met for dinner on a Saturday night and I very much enjoyed meeting this new couple.  I sat next to Dean so I could lean over and kiss him during our dinner and touch his thigh under the table to stay relaxed because the anticipation of my first foursome was starting to feel like it just might happen!
Jennifer wore a beautiful yellow dress with no panties or bra, heels, and her light-brown hair was pulled back so that her pretty face and cheek bones were fully exposed.  I wear my short dark hair framed around my face so my eyes just peek through.  But her exposed, confident beauty was breathtaking.  Adam is athletic and super cute and he looks great in a pair of jeans!  Jennifer and Adam are a great looking couple, super sexually confident and both incredible kissers! Kissing both of them was amazing and still lingers in my memory.
Dean’s account has all the details and I think one of the reasons he is such a good lover is because he pays attention to everyone and everything.  I lose myself in passion and feel the moment. That night, I lost myself in sexy conversation at dinner, and in bed in the throes of passionate fucking each of them.  However, I’d like to share a few of my vivid memories of this amazing first foursome experience.
Kissing Jennifer was one of the sexiest things I’ve ever experienced.  She looked into my eyes and I pulled her body close. Her lips were so soft and delicious.  I actually found it hard to stop kissing her throughout the night. As we stood in the room all together at the beginning, Dean, or maybe it was Adam, lifted Jennifer’s dress off over her head and she stood tall in her heals, nude, and gorgeous.  Her ass was perfectly curved and rounded above her thighs in back. Her skin was supple and soft and it felt like she oiled after showering.  I noticed she had glitter lotion on her chest and it glistened slightly on her fair skin and highlighted her amazing shoulders and breasts.  Her breasts are perky, round, soft and very sensitive, and her tummy was perfectly flat, soft, curved, and so, so sexy.  She has a perfect body and her confidence is irresistibly alluring.
The men took their clothes off quickly and I was hoping to keep my new bra and panties on a bit longer because I felt shy and more confident standing there in my black lace lingerie.  We kissed and touched more.  I gave in and let Adam take off my bra.  He kissed my breasts perfectly with his soft lips, he wasn’t too soft or too hard and I felt a twinge of anticipation in my pussy.
Then I bent down on my knees in front of Jennifer and put my hands on the back of her hips and pulled her body to my mouth and buried my lips and tongue in Jennifer’s beautiful pussy.  She was perfect, sweet, and so, so soft! Both men were turned on watching me and listening to Jennifer moan in a breathy pleasurable way.  She reached out to stroke both their cocks.  This was my first experience going down on a woman.  I thought about what I wanted to do because of what I like.  I applied pressure to the top of her clit with my fingers while softly kissing and licking her just below her clit.  My other hand held her tightly from behind to my mouth. The combination of soft and pressure seemed to please her and as she and I both got wetter.
I watched Dean and Jennifer kiss, suck and fuck. I was curious about her movements and oral techniques.  She had good rhythm. Dean seemed very pleased.  Adam watched in pleasure and protection it appeared to me which I liked a lot. As the night progressed I struggled a bit to focus on more than one thing at a time and as a novice, I hope I can improve containing and controlling my pleasure to be able to give and receive with more than one partner at a time. Dean came vocally and his orgasms last a few minutes as do his vocalizations which is very, very hot to me!
I found myself laying on the bed next to Jennifer’s hips and lifted legs as she was fucking Dean who was standing on the edge of the bed.  He said it was one of his favorite positions.  I watched his cock go into to her perfectly groomed pussy.  I was only inches away watching and listening and feeling the bed rock as he fucked her and she moaned in pleasure.  I looked up at Adam and asked him to climb on top of me.  He was so sexy as he mounted me and pushed himself into me.  I pulled his ass in deep and his rhythm quickened and I felt a gush of wetness engulf his cock, my pussy and drip down my ass. I came hard and my pleasure was loud. I lose a sense of myself in my orgasms.
The moment had arrived when I started kissing Jennifer as she lay on the bed with her head on the pillow. I lay on top of her and pressed my breasts on hers and kissed her all the way down.  She spread her legs and I could see her beautiful perfect, pussy.  I kissed her and licked her and then I slowly and gently pushed a finger in her, and then two.  She moaned and while I didn’t look up I could tell both men were turned on and hard watching us. Someone fucked me deeply from behind when I got up on my knees while my mouth was still licking and sucking Jennifer.  It was hard to focus and it was amazing and I want to do it again, and better!
As the night came to an end I listened to all three of them talk about how exhilarating it is to have pile of bodies all touching and kissing and sucking and fucking. I was spent but totally motivated to practice being in the moment they all described again soon.
We left the room, entered the elevator and I started kissing Jennifer again, even as people entered the elevator.  I knew people were watching fondly.  We walked out of the hotel and she gave my one final deep kiss and hug.  I loved my first experience with a woman and a foursome and am hopeful to play again.
Dean drove me home in his convertible with the top down [Editor’s note: was there ever a doubt what type of car I would drive? Lol] and I loved the wind in my hair.  It was a mild spring evening and the cool breeze felt refreshing after all the stimulation.  Even though it was late, Dean asked if I wanted to go to Twist in the city, and while I declined, it totally turned me on that he was still up for more sex!  I think knowing Dean, and playing with him is going to be a lot of fun!

“C’mon y/n we’re gonna be late,” Sheri called waiting for you outside the bathroom.
She had asked you to help her study for a history exam you both had coming up. Of course, you being the sweetheart you accepted her request. Unknown to you though she actually wanted to get you to the party at Bryce’s house. Her excuse was, “girl, I’ve seen the way you look at Zach and its time you do something about this love crush.”
So in the bathroom you struggled to put on a dress she let you borrow.
Tumblr media
As you opened the door you looked down not wanting to see the emotion in Sheri’s eyes, “Sheri this is waaaaayyyyy too short for me. I can’t wear dresses that almost go to my sugar land, especially at a party where there are a ton of horny boys.”
“Y/n, trust me you’ll be fine. I’ll keep on the watch for you, checking up on those horny boys. Plus, you look fantastic and thats what we want, right? Zach maybe can reach that sugar land tonight,” Sheri joked.
You slapped her playfully and grabbed your bag. Sheri said she would watch out for you, but that night was a night you thought maybe going to this party was a mistake.
As you and Sheri walked up the driveway to Bryce’s party a couple of boys ran in front of you both. Acting silly, and of course it was evident that they were drunk. Your stomach was turning and in the back of your mind you questioned whether this was such a good idea.
Sheri noticed your nervousness and grabbed your arm, “hey y/n, look just have one drink for me, then I promise I’ll take you home. Deal?”
You glanced around the house, straightened your back, put on your big girl panties on and strutted inside the house. You were going to own this night.
As you searched around the room you noticed some familiar faces from school and some new ones.
“Wow y/n, I’m surprised to see you here. I didn’t know you come to parties,” your friend from Liberty High, Clay Jensen said.
You chuckled, “I didn’t know you come to these dumb things either. Plus I was forced to go.” You pointed to Sheri who was drinking already and laughing with a group of girls. “History exam.”
Clay nodded and said his goodbyes. Great, now what were you supposed to do. You looked like an idiot, just standing near the wall by yourself. That was when you saw in the distance the tall Zach Dempsey.
“Oh my god y/n, avoid eye contact at all cost. If he doesn’t catch you staring like all those other times he won’t come over here,” you thought to yourself. You looked to the side at some fake, odd, looking plant. Your mistake was you thought Zach was gone but when you went back to look at him he was still there! And his attention was on you.
“Oh sweet jesus,” you prayed aloud. You thought maybe you should pretend to talk on the phone but as you rummaged through your purse you realized you forgot the dang thing.
“Hey y/n,” a voice called from above you.
“If only that was god,” you thought in your head. “Heyyyyyy Zach. What brings you here?”
“Well its a party...so.”
Your eyes were opened wide and you plastered on this anxious, nervous, fake smile. All truthfulness you looked like you just peed your pants.
“Are you okay y/n?”
“Me? Oh yeah,” you waved his concern off, “I’m fine. Just not the party type. I just came here for a friend I’m helping Sheri study for her history exam.”
“Yeah I saw you came in with Sheri. By the way you look amazing in that dress. Your like the best dressed in the whole house.”
“Thanks,” you said awkwardly pulling down the fabric. “I mean its not mine, its Sheri’s, but you think its too much? I mean its just a party and I came all dolled up when everyone is either wearing jeans or skirts.”
“No! I mean no, I think you look perfect.”
You smiled all flustered at his compliments.
“Hey listen y/n if ever you want to-”
“Whats up bro and...y/n l/n? Wow didn’t think I’d ever catch you here.”
Bryce, Bryce Walker (lol i feel like veronica in heathers)
“Me neither,” you said trying to get out of the conversation. Rumors have spread like fire about Bryce, he was a trouble maker. You did not need that right now, actually how about never.
“Man, y/n you clean yourself up pretty good. I’m so used to seeing you all covered and a good girl. Now you look pretty bad,” Bryce winked at you while licking his lips.
“I kinda regret wearing this dress now,” you muttered under your breath.
Zach was getting angrier and angrier by the minute. He saw how much Bryce was making you uncomfortable and he just would not quit.
“Well, y/n, how bout I show you a good ti-,” Bryce had started to say but you interrupted him with a shriek.
“Oh my god Laura! Whats up cous (cousin)? No I’ll go to you,” you shouted from across the room.
Zach and Bryce’s attention was to where you were pointing and yelling.
“I’m sorry guys to cut the talk short but who would of known my cousin is here. Well, I’ll get to you guys later gotta say hi to her or else I am gonna have some family issues,” you faked laugh.
You did erupt a real laugh though as you left because you didn’t have a cousin here. You just made that up to get the heck out of that conversation! You let go of the breath you had contained inside of you.
Deciding to at least try to enjoy yourself, you grabbed a drink and raised it up to Sheri who was far away. Sheri smiled and clapped, mouthing “good for you.”
“Y/n just take one drink and then you can get the h*** out of here,” you said aloud.
Your stomach started to grumble so you grab a chip and dip it into salsa. You put the whole thing in your mouth.
“Don’t!”
You turn around to see Jeff Atkins (rip😭) , the sayings were true, he was handsome. You almost choke on your chip at his presence.
“Atkins! Boy you scared the crap out of me,” you exclaimed.
Jeff just giggled, “I’m sorry y/n.”
You shook yourself and regained your composure, “anyways, why did you say don’t?”
“That salsa had marijuana in it, I mean I’m not gonna judge or anything but that s**** strong. So just be careful.”
Your eyes almost bugged out of your head. You put the salsa and chip down and tried to take the left overs out of your mouth.
“I saw you checkin out Zach.”
“Oh my god you too! What is it with people being interested with who I like and don’t? It’s like everyone wants to know!”
“Go after him,” Jeff said leaning against the counter.
“What?”
Jeff gets closer, “hey I’m no matchmaker but, I can tell he likes you trust me I’m a guy. I know. Just go back to him and talk. Its better to talk outside so nobody can disturb you,” Jeff wiggled his eyebrows.
“First of all Jeff ewww, no, me and Zach are not doing the do. I just have a crush on him! Can it be that before we make it into teen mom. Second, you say you’re no matchmaker but you sure as h*** always try to be one. Third, I tried to talk to him and I get so nervous I sweat like a waterfall under my armpits! And fourth of all what do you know about girls?”
Jeff just shrugged, “trust me y/n. My advice will come handy one day. One day.”
You shook your head, “silly.”
Again, alone you stood by the drinks. You downed the last of the liquid and had the urge to use the bathroom. As you go to there, you see there is not a soul in sight.
“Finally, peace and quiet. I mean who would gather around and talk around the bathroom, thats just gross.”
As you opened the door to the restrooms you felt a hand on the lower part of your back. You quickly snap in the direction of the hand and see that it is Bryce.
“H-hey dude,” you said trying to sound confident and not frightened.
“Hey y/n. I wanted to finish what I started earlier. That dress it just makes the animal come out of me,” Bryce’s hands were roaming all over your body.
“Animals, I love animals. Why don’t we talk about some, like whats your favorite?”
“I much rather do this to you,” Bryce wore a smirk the whole way through. “You’re so sexy y/n, especially in this dress. How about I take it off of you?”
“Bryce quit it!” You were starting to panic. You tried to pry him off you but he was too strong. You did not want this, Sheri said she would protect you, watch out for you. “Bryce stop it!” But Bryce would not. Instead, every time you said something he would become more handsy.
“I know you want this y/n. You’re just urging for me to be inside you,” he whispered in your ear, biting your earlobe. Then he grabbed your face harshly to kiss you.
Your face squirmed in disgust, you tried to kick him in the groin but he grabbed your leg. This was it you were going to be raped on this day. Tears started to form in your eyes. You were scared no terrified at this moment. After he finished making out with you, he zipped down his pants.
Bryce kept you in a death grip. “Someone please help me! Sheri, Jeff, Zach, Clay, someone please help,” you cried in horror.
Bryce lifted your dress up and you were sobbing and asking him to stop. Just as Bryce was about to pull down his pants Zach came to view.
Zach’s eyes widened in shock. “Dude what the f*** are you doing to her?”
“C’mon Zack were just having a little fun. Right y/n?”
You shook your head into a no, tears staining your cheeks. “Bryce tried to rape me! You pig!”
“Bryce let her go,” Zach barked out.
Bryce then grabbed your butt with a smirk and massaged it. Everything went so quickly. Zach lunged for Bryce and Bryce let go of you. Zach punched Bryce’s stomach while Bryce tried to elbow Zach’s face.
Zach tackled Bryce down, Zach on top, started pounding and smashing Bryce’s face. Zach’s face was red of anger. He was so irate and so mad, that all he could do was scream and say “leave her alone.”
All you could do was stand, the moments before this fighting were still fresh in your mind. It replayed like a movie. You looked down at your hands and they were shaking. “Zach please stop!”
You knew Bryce was the golden child of the school, heck the whole neighborhood. If they saw what Zach did to Bryce Zach would have consequences even if he did what was right. Zach would get blamed.
“Please, Zach stop.”
Zach stood up harshly and looked at your face. He looked as if he could almost cry. Bryce laid on the ground moaning and groaning in pain. Blood spilling from his nose and the cut on his lips. His eyes starting to become swollen.
Zach ran to you and hugged you, “I’m so sorry y/n I wasn’t here earlier.”
“No you came just in time. Thank you Zach.”
Clay and many other kids came to see what was all the commotion.
Well you took Jeff’s advice. You led Zach outside to talk to him about the matter.
“I just wanted to say Zach, thank you.”
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there to protect you. I should of been there by your side, I should of known what would-”
“Zach! Stop! You could not have done anything more than what you did. And even if Bryce would of done that detestable thing I still would like you.”
You quickly place your palm on your mouth. Did you just say that out loud?
“You like me,” Zach questioned.
You sheepishly looked down, then grabbed his much more bigger hand in yours, “yes Zach I do.”
Zach looked at you with an overjoyed expression. He inched closer to you putting his hoodie on your back. He gave you a toothy grin, squeezing your hand a little.
“Hey you maybe wanna go hang out some time? I also need help on studying my history exam.”
You laughed and nodded, “I’d really like that.”

Hols May 2019
Monday 20th May 2019: managed to catch the train from Notts to Skegness (by the skin of my teeth). Arrived in lovely sunshine, a couple of hours early for the guest house, but the lovely lady said I could check in anyway as the room was ready. Nice part of Skegness actually: opposite the sand dunes and the other side of the clock tower to where I normally stay. Dumped the bag, quick coffee and out for a wander.
First stop: Jacket Potato on the Pier. This is always my first stop lol. Suitably nourished, I took a walk up the main road, ducking in and out of the gift shops; my frugalistic motto is - it's probably cheaper at the next shop. Also had a look in the multitude of charity shops whilst on my wanders. Later on, I took a tour of the sand dunes, which was really lovely. Not even been down this end of Skegness before, strangely! Tide was out so a nice stretch of beach to walk/paddle down. Had a sit down in the dunes and just watched the ocean - so relaxing.
So you REALLY have to do the pier whilst in Skegness lol - (I even have a loyalty card for my tickets hahaha). Checked the balance, but didn't see anything I wanted in the gift area, so added a few more points to the total instead. Might save up for something BIG lol.
Didn't really do anything spectacular on my flying visit, but it was so lovely just to see the sea again, and visit a place I feel at home in.
Tuesday 21st: caught the 10.15am train back to Nottingham, then straight down to St Pancras, arriving around 2ish. It's been over 40 years since I visited London, so I was really looking forward to the trip. Found the hotel really quickly 2 - 3 min walk from the station! However, it was in a lovely, quiet square. You would never believe Euston Road was only a few hundred yards away! Room was small, but perfectly adequate. Bathroom was immaculate! But that bed....OMG a 3/4 bed with 3 massive soft pillows! Comfortable is not the word....I want one!! Yet again, dumped the bag, quick coffee, and decided to walk along Euston Road first, to see what was close by. With the help of Google of course!
British Library was my first stop! I'd been looking forward to this since I booked the holiday. Very imposing place; floor to ceiling books. Loads of students with laptops inside; all beavering away conscientiously. You had to have a pass to access most of the stuff, but just looking around the place took my breath away! Sat outside the main entrance for a while later; it was a lovely sun trap with a great view. Chatted to a nice lady who asked where I had my hair done (LOL). Watched all the busy, busy commuters rushing around whilst we were sunbathing hahaha
Multitude of sirens blasting along Euston Road and lots of police presence, around 6ish, so cowardy custard (me) decided to call it a day and go back to the hotel - with food of course!
Wednesday 22nd: put my brave girl knickers on, and decided to do the Underground. Let me explain - I had NO INTENTION of using the tube. Horrible thing. Don't do underground. Don't do crowds. Don't do not knowing where the heck I'm going. BUT I wanted to go to Camden Market, but not arrive footsore. One stop on the Northern Line. Scanned my Oyster Card and went through the barriers like a pro! Got on the right train (lol), and off we went. It was really cool LOL. Loved it!! My new favourite pastime! Who knew??
Oh Camden Market was fabulous! My first (of only 2, suprisingly) encounter with a slightly eccentric character was on the way here hahaha. Nice man. Stopped me in the street, and proclained 'Jesus loves you'. I thanked him and continued.
Took a couple of videos walking through the cobbles; some amazing stalls - especially the Indian ones. They smelled SO good too! Found the canal, and walked the path for a while. Weirdly though, I seemed to end up where I started lol. My sense of direction is really shit! Bought a few trinkets and went on my way. Suddenly I had the urge to go see some non-humans. I figured the zoo was the best place for that, so I walked all the way to Regents Park (with the help of Google directions) and paid the £30 entrance fee. Actually, that was the minimum I thought it would cost - I was prepared for more to be honest.
Highlights: 1. In with the Lemurs - they really don't have a problem with humans! It was lovely to see them so close!! 2. The tiger slinking into the water for a drink and a cool off. His little face was a picture, bless his heart! 3. Penguins! They were really showing off lol; swimming past us back and forth. I swear they were grinning!
Spent a couple of hours at the zoo; bought a bag of crisps for £1 (still smarting from that one!). Found out the nearest tube was Camden Town, so started the long walk back from where I came. Back to the hotel for a snack, then off in the opposite direction to the British Museum.
Now this I had been looking forward to for ages! Some of the artefacts gave me a strange feeling to be honest; particularly the african ones. I felt I shouldn't be taking photos or 'something would get me' hahahaha. (I did though) I think I've been reading way too many horror stories! Nevertheless, they really do have some weird kind of aura about them. The Chinese and Indian sections were no less compelling; not in a 'woooooooo' kind of way, but more 'aahhhhhh wow' if you catch my drift. I've always been interested in Chinese history; I love Chinese vases, ornaments, buddha's, jade figurines - you name it. Fascinating. The Egyptian section was really cool too. Cannot believe how OLD some of the artefacts are for pete's sake - 6000BC! I'm speechless. After a few hours here, I felt extremely educated in matters of history, geography and a number of other subjects! Yay me. Give us a mortar!
Bought food yet again (the stalls near Kings Cross station are fantastic!) mostly bread and cheese lol. Seem to be living mostly on bread and cheese (I did buy some tomatoes, apples and bananas though) Back to hotel after an amazing day.
Thursday 23rd: last day but determined to make it count! No rush to get home, so checked out of the hotel at 9am, but was able to leave my bag till I caught the train later in the day. First stop, Underground Map lol. Had a browse, and thought I would go to Trafalgar Square. So this was the sardine tube trip hahahaha. I had already been warned not to go on the tube before 9.30am by my son, but did I listen? Me: ok I won't. Also Me: I'm going anyway. Actually I just wanted to see what it was like at rush hour LOL. Busy. Packed. But suprisingly not smelly (considering the number of peeps).
Trafalgar Square was beautiful! I knew Nelson's Column was tall, but nothing prepares you for seeing it for the first time! Had a job fitting it into a photo lol - I think you need to be half a mile away! Fountains were gorgeous too. Sat a while, but conscious that I wanted to see more of London before the day was up. Back to the Underground Map.
So the lady in the hotel had said it was Polling day, so where better than the Borough of Westminster? She told me to wave if I got in front of the cameras LOL. I saw the cameras, but used my avoidance tactics! Walked up to Downing Street instead - caught a glimpse of the London Eye through the trees across the road, so at least I saw it! Huge security and police presence throughout Westminster area - don't think I've ever seen so many! Downing Street was a bit boring - steel bars and no admittance. But at least I saw it lol.
Took a walk around, and came upon Birdcage Walk. Noticed a lot of people around and also some mounted uniformed chaps, so stood by the railings to see what was going on. OMG the amazing Horse Guards Parade!! What a wonderful sight to behold; marching band and marching guards; a true British experience. Made me proud to be a Brit to be honest, and I've never really been THAT patriotic. Seeing and hearing the parade just gives you this wonderful feeling!! It was so cool. Loved it! Yay the Brits!
Time starting to move on now, so back to my Tube Map lol. Decided on Tower Bridge for my last stop before home. So this tube trip was where I met my second strangeling! Very tall, long grey hair, long grey beard, massive black bible on his knee; spouting Corinthians at whoever would listen. AND he sat next to me hahahaha. These biblical types do seem to like me! Or maybe they are trying to save me.....who knows!
So arrived at Tower Hill station, and a short walk brought me my first glimpse of Tower Bridge. Wow it was compelling! I was pretty gobsmacked at the sight of it; I think I took about a million photos lol. To be honest, when I was in my teens and twenties, I didn't really look around much when visiting London. There was always a reason for going - usually either our band gigging, or watching other bands. I guess that's why these landmarks seem amazing to me now. I have turned into a real tourist!
So back to Kings Cross - and a last visit to the bread and cheese stalls hahaha. Needed some sustenance on the way back! And so back into St Pancras with it's beautiful ceiling; love this station! Up the escalator and onto the train. Goodbye London - I think I packed quite a bit into my few days! Loved every moment.

SNL adventure!!! 4/14/18
Detailed account of attending John Mulaney’s snl episode!!! This is almost a month late S O R R Y I’ve had finals and emotional goodbyes and i moved back home for summer break lol
THIS WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Tbh it was probably my best experience in the standby line (bill’s show was still the best show, no offense john)
I think I got there at 8 or 9pm on Thursday and was 4th in line
@barryberkman and I got to hang out again!!!! We had a lot of fun running around Times Square, watching It, fighting cockroaches, and playing heads up with other people in the line lol I remember someone from snl coming out to take a picture of the line and he told us it was going to be a GREAT show. The weather was PERFECT!!! The line was SO long. It went around the corner and onto the next block. I took a video of  the whole line and it’s 3 min and 45 secs long.
Tumblr media
I got the 3rd ticket for the live show! OKAY SO I HAD TROUBLE WITH THE SUBWAY AND WAS L A T E I ran a few blocks to Rockefeller and it didn’t even hit me that Tan France from Queer Eye was in the same revolving door as me until later 😱
While waiting in the rotunda, we saw Joe Mande, Nick Kroll, Max Silvestri, and Jon Hamm!!!!!  We got to sit in the far left section that’s right in front of the musical guest stage. I’ve NEVER gotten to sit there before!! The view was FANTASTIC. So barryberkman and I realized noticed some of the guys from Queer Eye (Jonathan, Tan, and Antoni) were sitting in the next section and started lowkey freaking out. And then Tan noticed and WAVED AT US. More freaking out. And then Antoni BLEW US A KISS. Fucking dead. I can’t believe it I love them SO MUCH!!
Tumblr media
Saw them take this a few minutes after they acknowledged my existence
Things I remember from the show:
Jack White was walking around and looked up and waved at our section! His kids were there too they were adorable
Darrell Hammond was walking around too! Random, but I remember he had a nice hat on lol
Kate was jumping during the warms ups and she waved at the pages that were dancing in the balcony lmao
Kate and Beck were dancing before the show (Che posted a video on his insta story) and were slow dancing together at one point
Everyone’s shock when Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro showed up
The guy that cheered when John mentioned Connecticut was sitting behind me lol I just love that face he made
I’ve mentioned this before, but there’s a woman that grabs the host right after sketches to safely lead them to where they need to go. So she grabbed John’s hand after the monologue AND HE FUCKING LEAPED OFF OF THE STAGE LIKE A BALLERINA OR GAZELLE IT WAS MARVELOUS
YEAH SO I GOT TO SEE JOHN WALKING AROUND IN DRAG LMAO HE WAS WEARING HEELS HES ALREADY SO TALL
In the school walkout sketch, the second Alex shouted YES LANCE Pete completely broke
Everyone dying of laughter when Kate got up to speak
EVERYONES FACE WHEN LESLIE CAME OUT DURING THAT SKETCH WITH THOSE STILETTO HEEEEEELS
Bc of our seats we could see people running around behind the lobster sketch so I saw people helping Alex get ready and after the sketch I saw Kenan walking out in his lobster costume LOL
ALSO I FEEL FUCKING BLESSED TO HAVE WITNESSED THE LOBSTER DINER SKETCH. AS A BROADWAY NERD THIS WAS FUCKING HILARIOUS.
THAT MEAN GIRLS REFERENCE i got to see the first mean girls preview in new york and i fucking loved it everyone listen to the cast album when it comes out please
Pete just died in that sketch omg
Oh yeah, so Nick Kroll and Joe Mande would walk out between sketches to watch the show and they sat behind us im fucking shook we basically watched the show together nbd
I never realized how tall John is.... like I’ve always thought his “tall child” joke is funny but during goodnights he towered over everyone HE IS SO TALL. HE IS A TALL CHILD. I GET IT NOW
After the goodnights, John waved at each section adsfjclmas he’s so sweet
I have an autograph book now! Here’s a crappy gif of it lol:
Tumblr media
Aidy was cute ofc 💕and she used barryberkman’s sharpie to sign my book “I promise I won’t seal it!”
Max Silvestri came out! He opened for Kid Gorgeous and he is HILARIOUS! I asked for his autograph and his girlfriend said something about how this doesn’t happen often 😂
NICK KROLL CAME UP TO US he seemed super tired but I honestly love big mouth and I wanted to tell him. He was very nice and took a pic and signed my book
Melissa took her time signing my book and I told her that I thought her autograph was beautiful! We were all just gushing about how much we adore her and when she left I heard her say, “I really felt the love tonight!”
Chris Redd said his autograph was bad before he signed but I think it looks great!
So the day before, Pete made Alex an insta and Alex hates it lolol so when Alex came out I told him that I love his new instagram account and he seemed confused for a second before saying, “Oh! thAAAAANKS. You like it? Yeah it’s Pete’s, not mine 😂”
Higgins, Che, and Colin all came out at the same time and I’ve never seen Che come out before so I asked him for a pic. I told him that I love his insta stories and that made him laugh (they’re pretty entertaining and he has a lot to say)
Higgins saw that we were taking a picture and he was like let me get in on this and tried to photobomb with barryberkman so here’s the result
Tumblr media
ASDFGHAKFJLSDFL HE TRIED AND I FAILED MY BAD
Colin told barryberkman about how he had disney autograph books lmao
Cecily Strong is a gorgeous woman and I love her so much asdfghjkljaslkfm someone complimented her shoes and she looked down and said, “Oh, these are actually mine so I can accept the compliment!” She has a beautiful autograph and she is gorgeous and i love her a lot okaybye
My last show of the season :( I probably can’t do standby a lot next school year bc my workload is going to be REALLY intense but who knows! I still love this show so much and I’m so grateful that I have had so many lovely experiences going and I’ve met amazing people and have made many new friends because of this
Thank you SNL 💕💕💕

Answer 15 questions and tag 15 mutuals
Thank you to @feyna-v for tagging me!
1. Are you named after someone? No, my mom picked my name just because she liked it and it was American/English and not Polish (she didn’t want to give me a Polish name).  My dad agreed to it. (My name is not Mandelene, btw).
2. When was the last time you cried? While reading the ending of Small Country by Gael Faye a few days ago.
3. Do you have kids? Nope, not yet, haha, but I hope to have kids someday if I can. Two or three but no more than three :) Idk how to explain it, but at some point within the past two years, I started feeling more...maternal toward kids, if that’s the right word for it. I just see kids on the bus and think, huh, yeah, I could have one of those, I think I might like that, God knows why.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Oh, boy. Yes. It’s not as obvious when I’m online, but ask my mother or my close friends and they will confirm that 90% of my daily life is spent being sarcastic. My life is just one big sarcastic meme.
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people? How they present themselves -- whether they’re smiling or frowning, standing up straight or slouching, etc. For men, I immediately notice how tall they are because I’m a tall woman so tall men are absolutely heavenly to look at. Any man that’s like 6′2 ft or taller and in their mid to late twenties makes my heart flutter instinctively. (This is how I know I’m definitely straight, bahahaha).
6. What’s your eye color?
Hazel. I joke that I must be adopted because my parents and sister have green eyes, but my great-grandmother had hazel eyes so I guess my parents are my parents.
7. Scary movie or happy ending? Happy ending for sure. Scary movies rarely have a storyline that I find interesting tbh.
8. Any special talents? I’ve been told I bake a fantastic coffee cake. I can recite the alphabet backwards, and I know some first-aid, but those are skills and not really talents.
9. Where were you born? I’m a Brooklyn baby. :D Brooklyn, NY.
10. What are your hobbies? Writing, reading, occasional video-making, playing with my cat, indoor cycler, casual gamer, novice yoga pupil.
11. Have you any pets? Of course. Most of you know my baby already:
Macchiato!
Tumblr media
12. What sports do you play/have you played?
Oh, here we go. Brace yourselves for a tangent.
I was the sickly asthmatic kid who was too busy coughing up a lung to play sports, and I’m only half-joking. I played soccer a lot as a kid with my friends, but I was never on a team because my asthma was too severe and out of control for that. I’ve talked about this many times before, but I spent a good chunk of my childhood in the doctor’s office. I missed a lot of school. I got poked and prodded. I cried often about how much I hated being sick. I would be out playing with my friends and have an asthma attack in front of them and feel embarrassed. I would start wheezing and ignore it because I didn’t want everyone to make a big deal out of it. Don’t ever ignore your asthma, please. That never ends well. Sports were something I feared for years.
Midway through high school, my relationship with sports changed completely. I started seeing them as a method to improve my asthma rather than worsen it. My pulmonologist got my asthma under better control by coming up with a treatment regiment that he made sure I stuck to by lecturing my teenaged self at great length and wrote notes to my gym teachers at the start of every marking period. I slowly started regaining my confidence. My doctor made it clear that he was not excusing me from gym completely -- I had to exercise to the best of my ability without making myself sick, and if I kept getting attacks, it was back to the drawing board. If I couldn’t manage to exercise normally, then, in his view, my asthma was impeding my life too much and my medicine wasn’t working for me, which was totally true.
One of my high school gym teachers, Mr. B, was notorious for being the hardest P.E. teacher in the school. I was terrified of him. Whenever he made us run laps, I would pause when I started feeling unwell, rest for a minute, and then continue. He never said a word to me about it even though he was known for scolding students for stopping. Oddly enough, it took me a while to realize this, but he was always subtlely looking out for me. He always asked me if I had my inhaler with me at the start of class. Although I was often dead last in everything he made us do, he pretended not to notice and never commented on it. I never cheated him. If he said to do 30 laps, I would do 30 laps, even if I had to pause three times in between. Everyone else would have already moved on to other exercises while I was still doing my laps, lol, but I don’t think I ever had to reach for my inhaler. At the end of the term, he pulled me aside and told me, “I know you always tried your best, and I admire that.” He gave me an A. He was the only gym teacher I had who didn’t accuse me of making excuses or being lazy. Many previous teachers had convinced me I wasn’t trying hard enough, so I would push myself, and then I promptly proceeded to have attacks, be frustrated with myself, and end up in tears in the locker room. I needed Mr. B in my life to restore my faith in gym.
Nowadays I indoor cycle 3-4 times a week for 45 minutes to an hour to strengthen my lungs. Once a week, I have my “long tour” which is when I cycle for an hour and thirty minutes. After cycling, I lift weights for another 15-20 minutes. If I have a cold or any other upper respiratory infection, I stop all exercise until I’m well, and I hold myself to this. I have a better idea of my limits and what sports are best for me. I love swimming, but unfortunately, I don’t have a good indoor swimming pool around me, so it’s not something I can do regularly. Running/Track is still something I really struggle with, but brisk walking or hiking is fine. Last year, I was really into dance classes with my friend. Cycling is super kind to my lungs but leaves me exhausted in a good way, so that’s why it’s my favorite form of exercise. I’m sure if I did it outside though, I’d have asthma attacks. I’m generally okay with all sports/exercise as long as it doesn’t involve long stretches of running with few breaks in between, and I don’t do it outside when it’s cold. I won’t die from a light jog unless it’s the middle of January and there’s a meter of snow on the ground. You can invite me to play volleyball/basketball/tennis/whatever, and I promise I’ll be fine, haha.
I’ve also tried getting into yoga recently by following some YouTube instructors, but cycling is what I do most regularly and have stuck to. I take frequent exercise very seriously now, and I make it a priority.
13. How tall are you?
5′10 ft, so 177.8 cm. Super tall, I know. You should see my legs in yoga pants ;)
14. Favorite subject in school? In elementary school, I enjoyed English classes the most. In high school, AP comparative government in my senior year was my favorite because I love international politics. Then, there came a point in my life when I stopped liking English classes and started despising them (around my second year of university). College English consists of reading novels (which is a good start) and then writing unnecessarily long papers analyzing the novel, but if the professor doesn’t like your interpretation or analysis, they’ll deduct points. They’re not the classes you want to take if you want to actually learn how to be a better writer. They just teach you how to pander to the professor and not how to think for yourself. It’s annoying. Journalism classes get right down to the technical parts of writing and tear your sentences apart. I feel like I gain more from those classes than ones in which I have to write a ten-page essay on the symbolism of a key.
15. Dream job? A few years ago, I would have said “reporter for the New York Times,” and while that would be incredible, I have multiple dream jobs now.
I would still love to work at a media outlet. I’d want to either work at the international desk as a writer/reporter or work on digital content like podcasts or short documentaries. However, I can also picture myself working at an NGO or at a think tank. I might also be interested in doing something in government someday--anything that has a direct impact on getting involved in a community. Global politics and writing are my two biggest passions, so if I end up doing work in either of those areas, I’ll be happy.
Ideally, I can continue writing fiction on the side and publish it someday, but that’s still a dream I have to work my way up to.
I don’t want to leave anybody out, so if you’re reading this and you want to answer it, consider yourself tagged by me! :)

65 Questions You Aren't Used To
Tagged by @an-all-write-life, thank you lovely!
1. Do you ever doubt the existence of others than you?
I think I may have answered this one before, but basically no.
2. On a scale of 1-5, how afraid of the dark are you?
1, maybe 1.5.  I really don’t mind the dark, but sometimes it’s the unexplained sounds that will get me.
3. The person you would never want to meet?
I don’t know if any of you watched Community, but Troy loved LeVar Burton, he was his favorite celebrity.  Even though Troy loved LeVar Burton, the most he ever wanted was a picture/autograph, he explicitly told Pierce that he never wanted to meet him.  When Pierce brought LeVar Burton in as a way to mess with Troy, he was completely starstruck and could not speak, he just sat there wide eyed and terrified of disappointing his hero, until he ran away from dinner screaming.  Long story short, any sort of media hero I have I wouldn’t want to meet because I’d probably make Troy look like a normal person with how starstruck I got.
4. What is your favorite word?
Oh boy, this is a lot of pressure! I don’t want to offend all the other words.  I’ll go with onomatopoeia because it’s kind of fun!
5. If you were a type of tree, what would you be?
An oak, I guess.  They look pretty as they change, and dropping the acorns can cause mild annoyance, which I seem to be able to do pretty easily for the friends and family around me.
6. When you looked in the mirror this morning what was the first thing you thought?
Why does it have to be Monday??(I answered this when I started working on these yesterday)
7. What shirt are you wearing?
Simple pink and gray stripes.
8. What do you label yourself as?
Nerd
9. Bright room or dark room?
Dark, it just feels kind of relaxing and like it’s time to unwind.
10. What were you doing at midnight last night?
Sleeping - I’m kind of boring and go to bed by 10:30 (usually earlier) every night, so I’m definitely dead asleep at midnight.
11. Favorite age you’ve been so far?
I actually really enjoyed ages 18-20, and 23 was pretty good too.  I’m sure I’ll hit a good stride of ages again, but until I hit that sweet spot, I’m just going to roll with it and have the most fun I can.
12. Who told you they loved you last?
Umm, probably my friend Alex telling me she loves me more after I had sent her a second reminder in a night that I love her. Or my mom.
13. Your worst enemy?
Honestly, I’m probably my own worst enemy.
14. What is your current desktop picture?
It’s the generic blue design that came with the laptop
15. Do you like someone?
In any way other than platonically, no not right now.
16. The last song you listened to?
Either “Rich” by Maren Morris or “Hotel Key” by Old Dominion on my way into work.
17. You can press a button that will make any one person explode. Who would you blow up?
If I dislike someone that much, shouldn’t they just be left to suffer...like forever.
18. Who would you really like to just punch in the face?
It would be too easy to say some of those politicians that I think are awful and spewing hate, but that’s probably who I’d want to hit the most. But then I’m putting hate and violence out there and I aspire to be better than those I wish to punch in the face.
19. If anyone could be your slave for a day, who would it be and what would they have to do?
Yeah, people shouldn’t own people. What I would be more interested
20. What is your best physical attribute? (showing said attribute is optional)
Probably my eyes or smile.
21. If you were the opposite sex for one day, what would you look like and what would you do?
Umm, I sure hope that would mean I would be tall! At least considerably taller than 5’2” and then I’d go and reach stuff on the top shelf...without a step-stool.
22. Do you have a secret talent? If yes, what is it?
If I do, it’s news to me.
23. What is one unique thing you’re afraid of?
My fears are pretty run of the mill.
24. You can only have one kind of sandwich. Every sandwich ingredient known to humankind is at your disposal.
I might just be pretty boring and say a really good grilled cheese with like a good kind of cheese like pepperjack or something.
25. You just found $100! How are you going to spend it?
If only that would cover all my loans! I’d probably treat myself to something like a new pair of heels or just save it for a bit and maybe put it towards Christmas presents.
26. You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world, but you have to leave immediately. Where are you going to go?
Probably back to Spain.  I loved the four months I lived in Salamanca and want to go back! Also, my host family was amazing, and I’d love to visit them again.
27. An angel appears out of Heaven and offers you a lifetime supply of the alcoholic beverage of your choice. “Be brand-specific” it says. Man! What are you gonna say about that? Even if you don’t drink booze there’s something you can figure out… so what’s it gonna be?
I’d probably get some Barefoot Pink Bubbly, but I’d be a little suspicious of some greater ulterior motive.
28. You discover a beautiful island upon which you may build your own society. You make the rules. What is the first rule you put into place?
Everybody has to be left-handed lol, actually establishing some sort of guidance for rights and behavior, making sure that all groups are treated equally and fairly.
29. What is your favorite expletive?
Shit. As much as I curse in real life, I try to avoid it in my writing, instead opting to find other words to express the sentiment, although that isn’t always possible.
30. Your house is on fire, holy shit! You have just enough time to run in there and grab ONE inanimate object. Don’t worry, your loved ones and pets have already made it out safely. So what’s the one thing you’re going to save from that blazing inferno?
Probably one of my mom’s jewelry or memory boxes that has mementos from my late grandma in them.  It would mean the world to her and I was close with my grandma too, so I’d still be able to preserve a piece of her.
31. You can erase any horrible experience from your past. What will it be?
As much as I’d love to erase any bouts of poor mental health I’ve had in the past, I’ve learned from them and without that experience, I wouldn’t be prepared to tackle my next big challenge whatever it may be.
32. You got kicked out of the country for being a time-traveling heathen who sleeps with celebrities and has super-powers. But check out this cool shit… you can move to anywhere else in the world!
Just like in question 26, I’d probably move to Spain!
33. The Celestial Gates Of Beyond have opened, much to your surprise because you didn’t think such a thing existed. Death appears. As it turns out, Death is actually a pretty cool entity, and happens to be in a fantastic mood. Death offers to return the friend/family-member/person/etc. of your choice to the living world. Who will you bring back?
As much as I would love to bring my godfather back, it wouldn’t be fair to take him from the afterlife, or to put his wife, kids and the rest of us who love him through that pain again.  If I could open some sort of communication between this life and the next, I would absolutely offer it to him.  At least being able to communicate would probably be able to heal some wounds for a lot of us here, and I’d love for his 10 year old son to get to know him outside of the stories he hears from me and the rest of his family.
34. What was your last dream about?
Selling houses and moving...just all around kind of odd.
35. Are you a good….[insert anything you’d like here]? -  Are you a good listener?
I’d like to think I am, yes.  Recently at my weekend job, I was clocking out for the day and finished one of my purchases and the woman in front of me had a bag that was just a little too heavy for her to carry, so I brought her bag out to the car for her.  I ended up spending another 20 minutes out there with her talking, well she was doing most of the talking, and before we went separate ways she kept thanking me for listening to her.  So if that is any indication, yes I am a good listener, also it broke my heart that she felt the need to thank me for listening to her because it tells me that she really isn’t getting much of that in her life.
36. Have you ever been admitted to the hospital?
I’ve been to the emergency room twice, but never admitted to the actual hospital.  And both of those visits were within three days.
37. Have you ever built a snowman?
Grew up in New England, it’s kind of a mandatory part of childhood here.
38. What is the color of your socks?
Gray and teal
39. What type of music do you like?
Country, plus some pop and rock
40. Do you prefer sunrises or sunsets?
I’m rarely up for sunrises, but when I was in college, I was pulling an all nighter in our computer/printer room and I got the most spectacular view of the sun rising over the mountains in Vermont.  It made up for the severe lack of sleep I was experiencing.
41. What is your favorite milkshake flavor?
Chocolate
42. What football team do you support? (I will answer in terms of American football as well as soccer)
I don’t sport.  As far as American football goes, I suppose the NY Giants, but in reality it’s more of anyone who isn’t the Patriots.
43. Do you have any scars?
A few on my arms from stupid stuff while growing up, like fighting with my sister.
44. What do you want to be when you graduate?
I graduated from college 3 years ago and still don’t know.  Maybe to know and be happy and secure.
45. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Physically - the list is kind of long and pretty personal.  Otherwise, I’d get rid of those nasty things like my anxiety and depression.
46. Are you reliable?
Almost to a fault where some people have tried to take advantage of it so they could slack off.
47. If you could ask your future self one question, what would it be?
Have you found the happy path you want to be on?
48. Do you hold grudges?
Yes, but it’s something I’ve been trying to work on.  I’ll stop and think what did this event/person impact my life and is it still important?  That’s been pretty helpful for letting things go.  I doubt I’ll ever be able to move on from things immediately, but being able to step away after I’ve had some time and choose forgiveness really does help.
49. If you could breed two animals together to defy the laws of nature, what new animal would you create?
CatDog
50. What is the most unusual conversation you’ve ever had?
Probably once when talking about childhoods and one girl brought up how she got sent to water therapy because she would insist that she was a mermaid and didn’t have legs to walk.  If I remember correctly, they thought this was her way of manifesting her fear of water, but really with her red hair, she just wanted to be Ariel from Little Mermaid.  It was definitely a wild ride of a conversation.
51. Are you a good liar?
Yes and no.  I’ve got some tells, but over the past few years, I’ve gotten much better at hiding them.
52. How long could you go without talking?
If I’m not talking because I’m mad, at least a few days.  I love talking, so if there isn’t much of a reason to be silent, I’m probably going to be talking.  There have been a few times I’ve been home alone and will just begin talking to the dogs or the cat as I’m going about my business.
53. What has been you worst haircut/style?
As much as I like them every time I get them, bangs! Within a few months I’m done with wanting to deal with the maintenance and they never looks as good as when I first get them done.  Some folks look absolutely amazing with bangs, but as a long term thing, they are just not for me.
54. Have you ever baked your own cake?
Yes! I love to bake.
55. Can you do any accents other than your own?
A little bit.  With practice I can start to imitate other regions of the US and with enough drinks, I’ve tried an Irish accent.
56. What do you like on your toast?
Butter with a bit of cinnamon sugar.
57. What is the last thing you drew a picture of?
If painting counts, and I’m going to say it does for this, then a nice riverbank landscape I did at a paint and wine studio near me.
58. What would be you dream car?
Jeep Wrangler - like Lorelai’s in Gilmore Girls
59. Do you sing in the shower? Or do anything unusual in the shower? Explain.
Not really, I’m mostly focused on getting what I need to done and getting out.  I might go through an argument in the shower while I’m washing my hair, but that’s about it.
60. Do you believe in aliens?
I guess so, but that’s more of the universe is so expansive and I think it’s a little narcissistic to think that we are the only ones occupying it.  Besides, if there are no aliens, how will Superman exist to come and save us some day??
61. Do you often read your horoscope?
I don’t, and most of the reason is I don’t believe in them. It’ll pop up in other stuff I’ll be reading, but it always frustrates me that pisces are put at the end of the list so I don’t even try.
62. What is your favorite letter of the alphabet?
R! Yes, it is my initial, but I also like doing the sign for it in my sign language class.  The sign is like you’re crossing your fingers, so it’s like R has some mystery and is keeping a secret.
63. Which is cooler: dinosaurs or dragons?
Dinosaurs
64. What do you think about babies?
They are really cute and I like getting to spend some time with them.  It can be really fun to watch someone experience so many things for the first time, especially things we take for granted.
65. Freebie! Ask anything interesting you can think of. - Worst movie you’ve ever watched?
Leprechaun in the Hood without a doubt!
I’ll tag anyone else who wants to do this! :)

Maiden adventures part 1: San Bernardino aka "Maidenfest"
Wow. Yesterday was absolutely insane, in both the best and the worst ways possible, but I'll go about it in chronological order.
The day had come: I was finally going to go to a concert with my best friend. Jaidyn and I had been trying to go to one together for years; from King Diamond to Rob Zombie to Ghost, something always came up and either one or none of us could make it work, until now.
We left town around 11 and got to the venue around 1:15, I was shocked at how many people were tailgating in the parking lot but I imagine most had reserved seats or lawn general admission. There was a merch stand at the beginning of the trail up towards the gates, so I went and picked up four different designs, one of which was the venue-exclusive design for the California shows in Oakland and right there in San Bernardino, buying an additional couple shirts for friends. Walking up the trail, I was eager to meet up with Jamie/ @gedddylee and her sister, we’d been planning to hang out in line the moment we bought tickets in January and we were minutes away from doing so. After a few minutes, Jamie saw me and we totally freaked out, it's amazing when you get to meet up with online friends you've known for ages and then see a band you both love together. The wait for doors to open at 3pm seemed to take forever, venue employees always lag on opening them right at the scheduled time, but eventually, the gates were opened and we all piled into the venue, making our way to the stage… until we discovered that the pit was closed until 4pm, and we had to get entry wristbands at the entrance. Luckily, we had about 35 minutes left to do so. Setting my water down, I dragged myself back to the gates and acquired wristbands for myself, Jaidyn and her dad, then made it back to the line and waited for 4pm to come. It came faster than initially thought, and we were off! I led the way for the pack to follow me, flashing my yellow wristband to venue employees before sprinting to the right side of the stage and making it to the same exact row in the same exact position I was in the first time I saw Maiden last year, second row right in front of Janick and Steve. I couldn’t believe it! The same place twice in a row, more than 14 months apart. Could’ve been luck, could’ve been fate, but either way, we were all there and ready for the metal madness to unfold.
Exodus, Kamelot and Ghost were the opening bands; Exodus went on first, and they were incredible, I'd missed them twice over the past two years and I'm happy that they were the first thrash metal band I got to see because they're my favorite band (in that genre) of probably all time. I was right in front of the legendary Gary Holt and I'm so grateful I was able to see him because he has double guitar duties for both Exodus and Slayer, there's always a chance he's off touring with Slayer when Exodus are as well, but this was the only show Exodus has done so far this year so he was able to be there. There were a few issues with Zetro's (Steve Souza) mic during the opening song (Bonded by Blood) but luckily it was fixed by the second song. There was so much energy and it was borderline overwhelming, everyone was headbanging and throwing up the horns and I kinda wish I'd been able to headbang more but my hair's too heavy for that haha. They had Fabulous Disaster in the setlist and it was probably my favorite in the set apart from The Toxic Waltz since both songs are from my favorite album of theirs so that was pretty cool. Zetro actually pointed at me during Blacklist since there was a parting between the first and second rows and I was in plain sight. I was in shock for a few seconds afterward; it's always hard to register that you just had your existence acknowledged by a band members, let alone the lead singer of your favorite thrash metal band. They only played for 45 short minutes but it was so worth missing them twice over the years. I hope to see them again soon.
Kamelot were next and they were unfortunately plagued with the worst of the audio difficulties; there was feedback left and right but luckily my earplugs reduce the most harmful frequencies to your hearing so it didn't really bother me. They were my least favorite opener out of the three; as a whole they were okay, but they're American power metal and I prefer the European variety. They had a couple female guest singers come out for a few songs and they honestly stole the show; I cannot remember the blonde singer's name at all but she slayed my life oh my GOSH. Ghost came on about half an hour later, and you would not believe how amazing they were; I missed them twice last October and there is no better feeling than finally getting to see your third favorite band for the first time. Papa Emeritus and the Ghouls were on fire and they sounded fantastic, the Ghouls looked like they were having a blast and they really got the crowd going the most out of all the openers (they're the main openers for Iron Maiden this year and they've really won over a lot of the fans, which is amazing because Maiden fans are typically super snooty about opening acts, they just want to see Maiden), Exodus were an extremely close second. Papa was so charming and funny and lewd and it was my favorite thing, I love him so much let's be real. Fire Ghoul (lead guitarist) pointed at me and Papa waved at me and I can honestly die happy. I cannot wait to see them two more times in over two weeks. And then things started nosediving really quickly. After Ghost left the stage and their and Maiden's road crews came out to change stage sets, security was trying to divide the pit up so they could get to someone who was trying to start a fight or something, I have no idea; security were pulling a handful of crowdsurfers and bozos doped up on who knows what from the pit mostly during Exodus' set, but it was really getting more and more frequent once it came to be time for Maiden to hit the stage. Once Doctor Doctor began playing over the PA system, we were all squished together like sardines and I wound up having to put most of my weight on the First to the Barrier guy in front of me, I felt so bad for him since he was taking so much of the overall crushing and weight and was hunched over most of the time but there was honestly nothing anyone could do. I did wind up having a very clear view of the stage but I could barely enjoy it since I was just fighting to hold myself upright and trying not to die. I lost count of how many crowdsurfers/people who wanted out went over me; my neck and shoulders took a serious beating, I lost my hat twice but got it back both times, my glasses got knocked off my face constantly (I actually had makeup smudged into a lens after being knocked around particularly hard) and I had quite a few strands of hair ripped out from being crushed like a soda can against the people in front of and in back of me. I actually almost went down a couple times from trying to avoid crowdsurfers and it was honestly a miracle I managed to get myself back up again, the fact all my buttons and pins managed to stay on my battle jacket as well is probably due to black magic. It felt like I had every drunk and crackhead in the venue shoved up against me, I literally could not move on my own and I barely had the strength to hold my camera up for pictures and video as I was using whatever I had left to wrestle tall sweaty dudes off me, some of the ones I did manage to get aren't as great as I would have liked them to be since it was impossible to get a constant steady shot from being thrashed around nonstop. I was so exhausted that I only smiled a few times throughout the entire two-hour set and I wasn't even singing along most of the time, I was only mouthing the lyrics and I looked so miserable that Janick actually mouthed, "Are you okay?" to me but I think I lied and nodded that I was. There was also a pro photographer that scoped my section frequently so there might be a chance of me finding pictures of myself looking like an actual zombie lol. Luckily I was able to make it out of the venue in one piece, thanks to a very nice shirtless guy from San Diego; I'm just very sore and tired and my upper arms will be completely bruised by Independence Day. I didn’t lose my voice since I didn’t shriek very much during Maiden so that’s a plus I guess. Even though I barely remember anything of last night and the pit was the worst I have ever been in, it wasn't all bad, I do remember that the boys' performance as a whole was just as good if not better than last year’s show at The Forum; Bruce sounded the best I'd ever heard him, his scream during The Number of the Beast was on par with the one from Flight 666, which blows my mind because NotB is in the encore this tour and it was in the middle of the set for Flight 666. What a man. He made a bunch of horrible dad jokes before Children of the Damned and I could literally feel my soul leave my body when he made a Fifty Shades of Grey reference 😂 I made lots of eye contact with Steve and Janick, who may have recognized me from last year, he pointed his guitar right at me while shaking his head and smiling/laughing. I also got to see Bruce's bare stomach when he covered Janick's head with his hoodie during The Red and the Black, I unfortunately didn't get footage of that but I was pretty much yelling "GOD BLESS AMERICA" the whole time when it happened because it was toned and glorious and it cleared my skin lmfaoo Someone threw a bra at Bruce at the end of NotB and he joked how he has a collection of hats, “some of which are questionable” and I died hahaha. Bruce threw it to the floor afterward and Janick picked it up and hooked it onto his headstock and it was my fave. I almost caught a drumstick from Steve after Wasted Years but I was too far out of reach, had I been at the barrier I most certainly would’ve caught it. Maybe it’s a sign for things to come.
Overall, Maiden themselves never ever disappoint, they mean the world and beyond to me and I'm glad I did see at least some of the show, but I will definitely think twice about doing the pit at this venue or even going to see them at this venue again. I’m just grateful I have two more shows in Mansfield and Brooklyn to look forward to later this month, they’ll make up for this fiasco for sure.
