Hi Myrtle T^T Sorry for getting around to this a bit late! I hope you're still feeling angsty, but if not, maybe come back to this later!

Angry Armin yelling at Annie would make her flinch, I believe.

See this is a girl whose method of surviving next to her dad was by withdrawing into herself, developing a cold and aloof exterior to protect herself from other people as a whole. She went on living like this, used very much to it, for all the years and years until Armin finally broke through a bit. By the time she'd softened to him to the extent of having a special soft spot for him, I like to think she'd subconsciously learned to hope that he'd always treat her with kindness despite what ended up happening (crystal. even then he was kind to her... as much as his confusion allowed him to be, anyway).

Because that's who Armin always was, right? Soft-spoken, kind, level-headed, empathetic, friendly... 'not one to lose his temper', much less have a violent one in the first place.

At least, it's really easy to fall into this kind of expectation.

Post-rumbling, Annie seeking out Armin and their relationship growing from there on out, it's highly possible that Annie begins to open up more readily than expected, even adopting a more "hopeful" way of thinking, and inevitably, getting used to the softness and kindness that Armin treats her with.

So very different from her father, right?

But Armin is not above losing his temper, we've already seen (that S4 scene with Mikasa). Pushed to the very end of his tether, mentally, it's really possible he bursts, even without meaning to, and if Annie's at the receiving end of that outburst... can you imagine the damage it would deal both of them?

She would flinch.

And then, withdraw, like you said.

Because in the end, maybe getting yelled at is all she's worth receiving. Anger and violence, and if the latter hasn't yet been dealt, then it will come soon, surely. A natural consequence of anger; her skin knows to expect it.

And Armin... he's not good enough for her, is he? He wanted to treat her differently, so very gently, try his best to give Annie all the love she's never received to make up for lost time, but... in the end, he lost his temper instead. That's all he did, and now he has to watch her become quiet with her eyes dull and unresponsive when he calls her name.

Oh. Oohhhh pain T^T

The guys are used to his terrible crying habits. He just cries and cries and cries... and they used to try giving him little pep talks you know? For the most part those proved useless.

So now they just let him cry and cry and cry, interrupt him to feed him a gallon of water, and then let him cry and cry again because he's a lost cause.

Well that or Seagull!Eren shits on his food when he's having an open-terrace lunch on a foreign visit and he dies from food poisoning because his pathetic little bird friend was jealous in spirit of his love-life success. RIP.

Okay, this might sound boring, but I really like walking. Getting a coffee to go and strolling around the city for hours and hours is my typical weekend routine. We usually end up at some cool place to eat too because my boyfriend is Sasha Braus come to life, so that's fun as well.

Other than that, I enjoy art a lot, in all of its facets, so if the opportunity presents itself for me to visit a gallery or a museum or a performance, I'll take it for sure. I also have many actor friends so I watch a lot of plays as well, which is honestly one of my favourite things to do. There's something so raw and powerful about theater that you just don't get while watching a film or a show.

In general, I like thought-provoking things. Video essays are a big one for me. I just love it when people explain complex matters or niche interests to me in more or less layman terms. I'm not trying to pretend that I'm some sort of intellectual type, I just like thought experiments and pondering issues that are not clear-cut. I obviously read a lot too. Anything I can get my hands on, really, whether literature or nonfiction or fanfic.

That's pretty much it! I'd like to pick up some sort of hands-on hobby in the future, but every time I try to do that I end up giving it up after a few weeks xD. But, oh well, maybe the next one will stick 😉
