Zen x reader (gn) — First kiss.

Aww you’re so sweet, and I can do both since I don’t have anything else to do atm!! Also I didn’t know if you wanted it to be fem or masc reader so it’s gn! And I didn’t know if you meant reader/Zen’s first kiss or the first kiss in the relationship, so I just made it so it was the first kiss in the relationship, but if you meant smth else lmk and I’ll re-write it! Sorry that it’s a bit short, if you wanted it to be longer I could write more!

- I would think Zen wouldn’t be very shy about kissing you, even if it’s your first kiss (in the relationship..)

- I feel like the first thing Zen would do almost immediately after you officially got together—would be kissing you. But ofc he would wait until you’re ready to cause he loves you and don’t wanna make you uncomfy.

- Yk how he’s always flirty in his route? I feel like he would try to make it less.. obvious that he wanted to kiss you but still flirts with you to the point of HINTING that he wants to.

- If you don’t catch onto it, he wouldn’t hesitate to tell you straight, and would even tease you if you got flustered.

- But overall I feel like he’d be very patient and wouldn’t want to rush you if you wanted to wait until you felt the moment was right. <3

You and Zen were currently laying down on the grass, watching as the stars twinkled and shimmered, pointing at every odd shape some of them formed. He had invited on you on a picnic, in the place he would hide away to, he thought what better than to be there, no one to interrupt, just you and him with the crickets in the background.

It was nice, not having to worry about Zen’s fans following you both around and pestering you. It was also nice to not have the chaos of RFA, just the two of you. Nothing more than the sound of crickets chirping every now and then, and the slight breeze that rustled the grass. To Zen, it was perfect. Just laying with you, all alone with only the stars as your witness.

Zen turned to you, his gaze loving as he reached to caress your face.

“Hey?” You giggled, turning on your side so now you were face-to-face with him.

“Hey.” He smiled warmly at you, wrapping his arm around you and pulling you closer.

You two stayed there for a moment or two, maybe longer, but you didn’t know. All you knew is that you were laying there, safe and comfortable. The only light there was the small lamp Zen had brought, which perfectly illuminated your face. To him, you looked absolutely stunning, perfect in his eyes.

His gaze which was once set on your eyes, moved down to your soft lips. You two haven’t kissed once in the relationship, but he was just waiting for you to be ready.

While you were waiting for the perfect moment.

There was no rushing this pure night, holding each other so close, that it felt impossible to be even closer.

You turned your head slightly, gazing up at the stars and the moon. “The moon.. it looks beautiful, doesn’t it?” You asked with a smile, gazing back into his crimson eyes.

“Never as beautiful as you.” He teased, but he wasn’t smirking—he was genuinely smiling.

Your face flushed, and with a huff, you shifted your gaze back to the sky.

“Hey..” he cooed, grabbing your chin gently so you would look back at him “you know I love you, right?”

Right then and there, your heart fluttered, and it felt as if a million butterflies were swarming in a tornado-like way inside of your stomach.

“Yeah..” was what you managed to reply, then whispering a “..I love you too.”

He smiled at you once more, his gaze trailing back to your lips. Oh how badly he wanted to kiss you, and you noticed. You noticed how he looked at your lips for a moment too long before flickering back to your eyes, but you took it as he might be a bit sleepy, and thought nothing of it.

Zen wanted to get frustrated, he wanted to be closer to you, but he just couldn’t. He wanted to be patient with you, he didn’t want you to run from him because he was rushing or being too pushy. But he just couldn’t stop himself from asking.

“Can I kiss you?”

Your entire face flushed bright red, as your eyes darted back to his. “What?” you uttered, thinking maybe you heard him wrong.

But this only made him even more determined.

“I said,” he murmured, reaching to caress your face in his hands. His hands felt soft against your skin, as if they were meant to hold you. “Can I kiss you?”

“I..” you were too flustered to speak, heart pounding in your chest—so loudly you thought he might hear it. It wasn’t for a while that you finally managed to give a shy nod, and that’s all it took for Zen.

Zen quickly leaned in, eager to feel his lips against yours, impatient to kiss you. He smiled when you let out a surprised squeak, but returned his kiss after a few moments. He pulled away, slowly and reluctantly, he felt his heart swell at the sight of you.

Your cheeks were flushed, and you were breathing a bit heavily from how flustered you were. It wasn’t long before he leaned back in, and kissed you once again.

It was perfect, you and him, kissing under the moonlight with no fangirls in sight, and no one there to bother you. Just Zen and his lovely partner, kissing under the blanket of stars.

(A/N) : I got so excited when I saw something in my inbox more like when I got the notification and I wanted to say thank you sm for requesting this! It was really fun to write, and if you want me to fix anything just say the word and I’ll make any adjustments you want! Sorry for writing so much in an author’s note, it’s just this is the first ask I’ve gotten and I’m really happy about it. :)

But like behind the scenes she’s like super laid back to kind of cope with always having to be so graceful and perfect for cameras? how would zen do with an mc like that?

FALLIN' FLOWER

"I was living in a moment, but I met you and I realized that everything has a reason."

You let out a soft sigh, letting it drift away along with the breeze. You had your fair share of kdrama's here and there. You knew how filming could be, especially while putting up a persona. You leaned your body against the railing, looking at the lake in front of you. At least the universe was on your side, with your co-star requesting an abundance of breaks today. "Hey..." a soft voice approached beside you. Speaking of your co-star, here he was. Zen Hyun. Debuting at a small local theater as a musical actor to now becoming one of the most upcoming actors. And for a good reason too, he wasn't only handsome but incredibly talented for being self taught. "I hope I'm not intruding... I just wanted to check up on you."

You snapped back to reality, quickly turning towards him. You did a curtsy bow before flashing a small smile. "O-Oh! Yes! Please don't allow me to worry you, Sunbae. I hope you're doing okay as well!" you replied, fixing your posture. You clasped your hands in front of you, taken off guard. Zen tilited his head slightly and let out a small chuckle. You felt your heart race a bit, and the feeling of embarrasment rose to your cheeks.

"You can just call me Zen. You don't have to be so formal, we're co-stars now!" He smiled, before leaning against the railing. His gaze slid to the lake. You grabbed the railing, a bit unsure of how to proceed. "I hope you don't take this rudely but, you seem a bit... off today. Are you sure you're alright?"

You hesitated. You know the professional thing was to just suck it up and gracefully deny any negative feelings. Your agent had prepared you for this. But... there was just something about him. A warmth that not many people had. Especially in an industry like this. Despite all your training and better judgement, you let yourself go. You leaned yourself against the railing besides him, taking a deep breath, allowing the fresh air to fill your body.

"It's nothing too serious so don't worry too much." You began, still unsure why you're opening up to him. "You're an actor.. I- I'm sure you know how the spotlight is. You're expected to act a certain way because that's what you're told to do. I used to think nothing of it, really. But... lately it's been exhausting."

Your gaze met his, seeing him nod and listen to every word with care. You could tell with just a glance that he was digesting all your words, truly taking the time to listen and understand. Your heart fluttered. You weren't used to this level of empathy and it made you a bit nervous.

"Don't get me wrong, I-I'm like not a rude person or anything like that! You know... I just would like to be myself. But, what am I complaining about! I'm an idol. I'm appearing in a kdrama. I'm sorry.." You started to ramble, letting your nerves get to you. You turned your gaze away from Zen. Now truly embarrassed for saying your feelings. "I shouldn't have said.. all this. We only met recently. I apologize. i should-"

"Hey... Hey. It's okay" Zen interrupted, placing a hand on yours. "As easy as it sounds, the spotlight can be exhausting. Especially with putting up a persona like you have." Your eyes met his once again, now taking in how gorgeous he was. He really wasn't like the usual actor or any talent you've met before. "If it helps, I can get more breaks between filming."

"You don't have to do that for me, Zen.."

"It's nothing, don't worry." He added, moving his hand from yours. He gently tossed your hair, leaning back on the railing again. "I'd rather have you be comfortable. It makes everything easier and makes the show play out better."

"You're so different from the other actors, you know." You stated, leaning beside him on the railing.

"I-Is that a good thing?" he chuckled, glancing over to you.

"I didn't mean it in a bad way. It's just... you seem to care more about your... co-stars and staff. It's... refreshing. Sweet."

"I could say the same to you. You know how some idols can be behind the scenes. I'm glad we got paired together."

Your heart fluttered once again. He was just too good at making you feel comfortable to let your guard down.

"I hope you don't find this... too forward but.. I'd like to spend more time with you. I feel like it'd help our chemistry on stage and... it might help you feel more... yourself?" Zen suggest, turning more towards you. Despite his confident aura, you felt the slight bit of anxiety from him.

"Are you asking me on a date now?" You joked, letting a small smirk shift onto your lips. Zen's eyes widen, slightly panicking. He began to start saying something before you added more. "I'm joking! I would like that. It'd be nice to have more... genuine friends you know?"

You slighly nudged into him, as a warmth filled you. You were content. Happy even. Funny how a simple conversation could affect someone so easily. Before you were able to get too comfortable, the director called everyone back.

"Here," You said, handing him your phone. "I can text you my schedual when we're done filming and we can plan something?" He nodded and quickly typed in his number. As he handed your phone back, you gave him another grateful smile. "Thank you... again. For listening to me."

Hyun Ryu does not lack confidence.

What he lacks is bravery, he thinks as you stand next to him an arm casually slung over his shoulder as you hold a bottle of water in your hand. The two of you are on set, chatting back and forth while getting ready to go home for the night after a long day of filming. You’re a new member of the RFA, someone he recruited after the two of you started working together for this musical movie- he tells himself that he recruited you because you would be an asset to the organization, but deep down, he knows he did it to stay close to you even after the movie is released, because he fell for you the moment he first laid his ruby red eyes on you.

Every time you walk into the same room as him, log into the chatroom, or call him, he feels like he’s going crazy. His heart slams in his chest, his lungs seem to stop working, and his mind turns to mush, so while any other guy would stop and stare at you, he can’t help but look away- even now, as you excitedly ramble on about how excited you are for tomorrow’s filming while the two of you walk to your dressing room together, he finds himself staring at the floor and overthinking just how warm your arm over the back of his neck feels.

You two tumble into the dressing room, and you unabashedly start changing into your regular clothes right in front of him, so he turns the other way and finds that his entire face is flushed.

He’s not usually so shy and withdrawn- that’s what frustrates him the most, because why is he able to flirt and talk away with anyone but you? Why do you make him so scared that he can't breathe when you’re near him? Why is it that, every time he thinks he’s ready to make a move, you make him freeze? Every time it happens, he grows more and more upset with himself. When he thinks about you now, he just wants to run and hide somewhere.

You’re kind, and you’re outgoing, but you don’t throw yourself at him like he’s used to, so he doesn’t know quite how to receive you- doesn’t know quite what would happen if he ever mustered the courage to tell you the truth. Zen wishes he didn’t know the word ‘rejection’. Aside from his parents and his brother rejecting him and his interests when he was younger, he’s never had to deal with it- he’s always had the privilege of being attractive, of being loved without having to try for it, of being the one that everyone else has to make the first move on. The thought of him trying to pursue you instead of the other way around like he’s used to makes him lose his mind every time he thinks about it.

You finish changing, then take Zen by the hand and pull him out of the room, still chatting about the script and that day’s filming the entire way out of the building and to his motorcycle. He’s used to driving you to and from just about everywhere now- you say you have car problems, he offers to fix them or at least pay for them to be fixed, you deny his offer and say that you’ve been enjoying the time with him, and he wonders if you ever really had car problems in the first place or if it’s just an elaborate excuse to be his number one passenger. Zen decides not to ask.

The two of you put your helmets on and get on the motorcycle with Zen driving up front and you sitting right behind him. He isn’t sure what’s more exhilarating- your arms around his waist and your legs brushing against his legs or the whipping wind that blows his long hair in a million different directions and ripples through his protective clothing.

When the two of you get to your place, he parks in the lot and allows you to get off, but then you remove your helmet, look at Zen, and smile- that bright, beautiful smile that makes him feel so lost in time- and it takes everything in him not to freak out as he fights the butterflies that flutter in his stomach. It’s apparent that you don’t have so much as a clue of what you do to him, but at the same time, it almost feels like you’re doing it on purpose; killing him as slowly as possible.

Boom, boom.

Badump, badump, badump. 

Zen’s heart is slamming against his chest so loud and fast that he wonders if you can hear it. You stare at him, clearly picking up on his emotional turbulence. 

“(y/n), I…” Zen trails off, suddenly feeling incredibly shy underneath your curious gaze. There are a million words he could say right now, and he’s rehearsed in his head so many times how to do this, even practicing his confession in front of the mirror, but his tongue is stumbling in his mouth. “Um…”

“What is it, Zen?” You question, tilting your head. 

Zen decides that now might be a good time to finally confess- you’re asking what’s on his mind, the two of you had a perfect day together at work, the rest of the RFA seems to love you, and you’re just… Incredible. As shy as you make him feel, he realizes it’s not worth the risk of letting you slip between his fingers to save him from embarrassment. He reminds himself that the worst he’ll get is a ‘no’ and that things will probably return to normal after that. 

“(y/n)... This may be a little too forward, and maybe you don’t feel the same- which is totally fine, by the way- but I love you… And not just in the friendly way. I mean, ugh, I’m usually not so bad with words, but do you wanna go out?”

“I love you, too. We should definitely go on a date soon,” You say it like it’s easy, and Zen feels like he’s flying, but then you look him in the eye and it has him falling from the sky and back down to earth. “Zen, you okay?”

“Am I okay? I’m great,” The actor says, then gets up from his bike to wrap his arms around your smaller body. “Please, can I kiss you now?”

“I’d be sad if you didn’t,” you answer, then your lips are on his, and Zen suddenly doesn’t feel as shy as he did just half an hour ago.

Diluc Ragnivindr and Zen from Mystic Messenger have ruined fictional men with ponytails/long hair in the best way possible for me. I would have never even glanced at fictional men with ponytails before them. Now I literally imagine how soft Diluc's hair would be or how cute it would be in different styles and the same goes for Zen. I also now find Aizawa from bnha attractive which is like. Unheard of for me.
