Hmmm... that's a good one! I know that in terms of original fiction i tend to focus on the end of the world in some way or another, either an attempt to prevent it or rebuilding afterwards, but im not too sure about in fanfic

Mera!! In IBWR celebrates halloween or SOMETING ? How is Oliver about that

Peculiars have a big holiday for Halloween/Samhain/Hop-tu-naa/Allantide/Calan Gaef/All hallows eve-- Whatever you want to call it! :'D

The day of spirits and monsters is a day for community fun, singing, eating, telling stories and playing games!

Unlike regulars, though, they don't dress up as one another. They usually just dress up as old pagan gods or spirits. Or, rather, what they think those things look like. They don't actually know any more, since the UK is Christianised and the old ways are forgotten.

It's tradition so old they don't really know why they celebrate it or why the food they eat is what they always eat. But the rites are there, just watered down and re-imaginated through different lenses.

They still throw nuts into the fire, eat apples, cutting ivy, carve turnips, put salt in the windows and decorate with candles and, of course, sing old songs that lost meaning but still revives imagination of an ancient past - year after year.

He just can't hide that night... No matter what crosses he wears, they sniff him out. So his celebration time is often short-lived if he goes out! He prefers being indoors with other people, so he can hide better.

Do you think they will put Jikook's show behind a paywall like other shows they've done? If that happens I doubt people but Jikookers would pay to watch it and then it would just add to the fanservice narrative more. They did this to Jimin. We had to pay for his tiny room content, which was a slap in the face to him and his fans, while Tae and Jk got to do huge free shows for fans. On one hand I could see how it works in Jikook's favor since they did kinda plan that trip/show during a romantic couple holiday and the fanservice narrative actually protects them as sucky as it is, but at the same time, it would be a slap to the face of their fans and pretty fucked up if they do it.

I don't know why people are acting surprised like didn't I say years ago they would promote jikook post solo as a unit brand??? Give em a show of their own and shit?

I've been waiting patiently for that.

I was actually thinking hybe sponsored Jikook in the Golden closet type of shows where the focus is on hust the two of them- they were their two top entertainers that reeled in the views and mula.

And let me not hear any one say its fan service- if it's fan service let your faves do some. Put them in front of a camera for just one hour and see if they won't bore you to do.

Whatever it is they do they do it so well. Better than any pair up in there.

Also, they won't put out content behind paid walls if they didn't think it would sell in numbers- and I mean they aim to turn a profit not just break even.

From a business standpoint, nothing is free. Fan math is thinking free means we got it for free. Free means, you are the money. Your clicks are being sold to the highest bidder💀

One way or the other hybe will always make back their money off of you. Either through ads or sponsored content- think product placement etc.

Some members have built their brand to the point they can now leverage it for money. Jimin is one of those members. He has fans willing to pay- huge sums might I add- just to see him.

Don't act like PJMs won't. We would raise funds and sponsor others to go see Park Jimin if we thought it was a numbers game let's not lie. I see yall

Then there's also the part where pay walls means filtering out the haters and non serious stans.

It sucks for his avid fans who genuinely fuck with him but have no money to pay and watch or even the technology or means through which they can make payments due to geographical restrictions.

It sucks.

It's pouring the baby out with the dirty water.

But it's a small prize to pay if the safety of the man is at stake.

It's giving fans only cos haters gonna hate.

Jikook may not be targeting the entire Fandom with every content they put out. And I think they would love to share some things with a few fans who genuinely appreciate their bond than to expose themselves to ridicule and scrutiny all for free 99.

Naa, if you're gonna hate on them pay them first🤭

And if you genuinely like them what does it matter?? You'll support them either way.

So recently, I've been running DnD 5e, largely, so I can say I've run more than one 5e game, proving to myself that I actually don't like the system, that sort of thing (this is with some long-time friends), and like I have many issues with 5e, but here I'm going to talk specifically about prewritten material, because I am running the most beginner of beginner games

(edit: added a read more, this got long)

I'm running Lost Mines of Phandlever, and like as dnd adventures go it's fine, it does most of the work for you, particularly the work of setting up the encounters, and like it's well regarded as an adventure for a reason, it's a good dnd adventure, and I am genuinely having fun running it

but I have one big problem with it

The player characters Just don't matter

sure their actions matter, if the goblins aren't defeated bad things will happen to this village, if the Spider isn't dealt with bad things more generally will probably happen, but who they are, naa, 3-5 well-armed beginner adventurers are needed, but they could be any 3-5 well-armed beginner adventurers,

the setup for the adventure is: an acquaintance of yours has a job for you, escorting a cart of goods, they are willing to pay, while doing said job you get goblinned, and find out bad things have happened to your acquaintance

that's the long and short of it (OK there is a bit more but not much)

I can't help but feel this would be a better adventure if it was written with the assumption that the player party are from Phandolin, fed up with the redcloaks causing problems, worried about the rise in goblin raids on travellers, cue investigation and the discovery of the wider problem

I mean that's how the fantasy novels of my youth would have started,

and like I know why the adventure wasn't written like that, it goes something like, more influenced from earlier sword and sorcery (before my time), adventure modularity (something IMO 5e could have done more of), the writer not having to worry about whatever nonsense backstory the Players come up with for their characters/giving players the freedom to create the characters they want to play and like all that is fair

I do know of one fantasy ttrpg that sets things up more the way I would like things, "Beyond the Wall and Other Adventures", a great little OSR game, has prewritten scenarios, and playbooks for generating characters, that you do as a group, slowly building the village the PCs all come from as you create the characters, great for minimal prep one-shots, and there's the rub, Beyond the Wall is great, and as much as it does have rules for character advancement and running campaigns, I'd much rather have something not quite so light for longer games

Regular street directions are fine, regular waze voice and then suddenly Nick Fucking Jonas is going red light camera ahead. Yeah, let's just stop on the red and avoid this. I got the prompt today to change the voice to Kung Fu Panda and I knew, I knew the same thing would happen even when I try to change the voice back to the robot. But I still clicked. Because hearing Jack Black wax poetic about kung fu is 1000% better than listening to Joe & Nick Jonas's snark about speed bumps.

So last year I had an interesting encounter at Festival of the Four Winds. I fast traveled to the Labyrinthine Cliffs and see if I can get gear and stuff, and I was first greeted with...

...these colorful, synchronized dancing Charr.

Yeeeaaah... I wasn’t expecting this.

All these Charrs’ first name was the same while their last name was different.

Their names are as follow, from left to right;

Choco Truffle Cake, Choco Cream Puff, Choco Pavlova, Choco Kabana,Choco Crunch Choco Butternut, Choco Naa Gatas and Choco Banana Waffle

I found out sometime later that they’re all controlled by ONE person whose play the game for a long time. But I might be wrong or don’t have all the details.

Anyone else have/had a run in these Charr?
