This month is Stress Awareness Month. I didn’t know this even existed. But I just want to say this week has been stressful and sometimes it’s hard to even comprehend things that go on in my head. Due to being overwhelmed, anxious, and stressed. I get tired, fed up, and struggle to push forward. So if this is something you can relate to, please take some time for you. Whether it’s today or this weekend find sometime for self care. We all need it.
Love ya

Practicing meditation can help clear away the mind’s chatter, at least temporarily. Those experiencing anxiety or pain may find their symptoms abating with regular meditation. Specific types of meditation are associated with different documented effects: Mindfulness meditation, for instance, has been shown to decrease distraction and rumination, and it can make our negative automatic thoughts seem less frequent and easier to let go of. Likewise, loving-kindness meditation may limit the frequency of our repetitive thoughts, in addition to curbing our charged responses to those thoughts. What can you do for Stress Awareness Month? Talk about Stress and it’s effects – lets work together to reduce the stigma that is associated with stress by talking about the topic openly and freely with friends, family and colleagues. Share your coping mechanisms – if something has worked for you why not share it. It might benefit someone you care about and in the meantime it might help you take your focus off your own challenges. Be nice to those who are stressed and anxious – we are all undoubtedly going to experience stress and anxiety in our lifetime so treat others going through wit with compassion and empathy. Look after yourself – we all need to think more about self –care. Take time out of your day to relax or do something that you enjoy. Don’t forget to exercise and eat well, even when you feel too stressed. The most crucial thing you can do when you are stressed or anxious is to make sure you are continuing to look after yourself. Make time to relax when you need to and learn to say no to requests that are too much for you. Feeling stressed, nervous, and tense lately? You’re not alone. According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), nearly 20% of U.S. adults suffered from some form of anxiety disorder in the past year. The NIMH points out that not all stress is bad – serving as motivation “to prepare or perform.” Long-term stress, however, can be bad for your health…suppressing immune, digestive, and sleep cycles.
April is National Stress Awareness Month and with focus on the subject, its’ supporters in the Stress Management Society (SMS) have offered ways to defeat or at least minimize the effects. After all, everyone is susceptible to overwhelming sensations of stress from time to time.  Deadlines, long to-do lists, exams, public speaking…there are many triggers.
As you might expect, exercise tops the list. But don’t forget why. That physical exertion pumps endorphins through the brain and lowers stress hormones like cortisol. Taking natural supplements and adding candles, oil diffusers, and calming music are suggested. Keeping caffeine intake to a minimum and maximizing laughter round out the SMS Top 5.
The NIMH has an additional suggestion: try a relaxing activity like meditation, yoga, or tai chi as a stress coping mechanism. Consider your daily work environment, too. Clutter can add to stress as a daily reminder of being overwhelmed. Not to mention the anxiety caused by inability to find pertinent materials in timely fashion.
That’s where cubicle/work space organization can be a significant factor in stress relief. Spring cleaning and organization can deliver a sense of relief and we have a suggestion you might find helpful.
Acrylic Cubicle Sign Holders with distinctive Borders and Cubicle Brochure Holders give you a little elbow room and make eye-appealing showcases. Designed to fit securely on partitions with no tools or installation fuss, you can also make a statement using Cubicle Sign Frames as a way to highlight special promotion/event literature.
The SMS says you can use #NationalStressAwarenessMonth or #StressAwarenessMonth to post on social media in April. If you don’t, remember to relax anyway!

Kyo dake wa – Just for today Gyo-o hage me – Take responsibility and fully do what you’re here to do Just for today I will do my work honestly. “Work” in this context means more than just work. It refers to what we practise and cultivate, our path, including our thinking and feeling. The meaning of “doing my work honestly” expands to being honest with myself and everyone else in my life. It means that I “walk my talk” and that I’m willing to learn what I need to learn. True harmony can unfold only in a climate of honesty. Denial and lies create conflicts which consume tremendous amounts of peoples’ life energy. Honesty with oneself means to listen to one’s Spirit and to be true to it even when it tells us things we don’t want to hear because we imagine unpleasant consequences. Honesty is the basis for any mastery. Two contemporary masters describe spiritual mastery as “a level of consciousness that knows no conflict with the Divine” (Sogyal Rinpoche), “but is aligned with the Divine so that one’s own choices are Divine choices.” (Caroline Myss). Honesty is necessary for consciousness to be able to evolve. Imagine that every thought of yours was a suggestion to your unconscious mind and a prayer to Spirit – what would you be thinking? #reikiprinciples #honesty #harmony #reikihealing #reiki #reikimaster #nationalstressawarenessmonth #reikipractitioner #restoringbalance #chakrabalancing #chakras #chakrahealing #deeprelaxation #calm #calming #learnreiki #learnmeditation #meditation #reikilondon #surbiton #kingstonuponthames #surbitonsmallbusiness #peckham #peckhamrye #peckhamlifestyle #camberwell #wellbeing #healyourself #surrey #teddington (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw1MOnYnAAi/?igshid=94h7nam1z809

Kyo dake wa – Just for today Hito ni shin setsu ni – Be kind to others Just for today I will be kind to my neighbour and every living thing. This Reiki Principle can be understood as a variation of the Sacred Truth that “all is one”. The interconnectedness of all that exists (and even all that doesn’t exist) is a scientific fact today. All of our thoughts, feelings and actions affect everything else. When we show love and respect for the world around us then we create a world of love and respect that much more. #reikiprinciples #bekind #kindness #bekindtoothers #reikihealing #reiki #reikimaster #nationalstressawarenessmonth #reikipractitioner #restoringbalance #chakrabalancing #chakras #chakrahealing #deeprelaxation #calm #calming #learnreiki #learnmeditation #meditation #reikilondon #surbiton #kingstonuponthames #surbitonsmallbusiness #peckham #peckhamrye #peckhamlifestyle #camberwell #wellbeing #healyourself #surrey (at Bushy Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwrZ_kfnbys/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=k10b9wogl6ki

Some stress, positive stress, is good, as it can push us forward. But negative stress—if it is extreme or constant—can do both physical and mental damage to the body. There are many warning signs and damaging effects of stress, such as anxiety, depression, dizziness, dry mouth, headaches, an upset stomach, diarrhea and constipation, a weak immune system, back pain, a stiff neck and other tight muscles, fatigue, insomnia, weight gain or loss, expanded difficulties with relationships or at work, high blood pressure, and even heart disease. The following are a few ideas of how you could start dealing with your stress: Figure out what things trigger your stress. Take control of your own body. For example, focus on taking control of your diet and exercise routine. Exercising can have a huge impact on helping you with stress. Something as simple as a power walk or jog can relax you and help you feel less stressed. Make some sort of change in your life. Shift something or do something differently. It doesn't matter if it is small or big. You could do something as small as cleaning your room, or you could do something big like taking a vacation. By shifting your thinking you will help combat your stress. Focus on the present, not the past or the future. The stress that comes from the disappointment of the past and the fear of the future can't touch you if you are living in the present. Reflect on your life. Have a conversation with yourself about what is going well. You could even write about these things in a journal each day. Try to look at everything you do in a positive light. Take some deep breaths. Do things that make you laugh. Read or watch something funny, go to a comedy show, or spend some time with a friend that always gets you laughing. Meditate today and get into the routine of meditating every day. Help someone else. By doing so, your mind will be taken off your own problems and the things that are bothering you. You'll be helping someone else at the same time, too! Treat yourself to something you enjoy. Make sure you are getting enough sleep. Get a pet. #nationalstressawarenessday #nationalstressawarenessmonth #stressawareness #stress https://www.instagram.com/p/BwUdJNEAWcM/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1dy4vzpo6rulf
