Ringlord High King of Everything Elrond, inspired here
(@the-writing-goblin)
I imagine in this situation elrond would have been partially tempted by boromir's declaration, but instead of trying to fight sauron with it (because even in the weirdest crack au i can think of elrond is still too genre-aware to try that) he tried to use it to supercharge his use of vilya and protect everyone.
basically Ringlord!Elrond turned the entirety of Eriador into a mega-gondolin situation: massive walls (courtesy of numenorean/eregion tech) around the regions bordering the north or Mordor, fortresses along the mountain range and several layers of gates along every road in or out. Everybody goes in; nobody goes out; everyone is safe.
and he ended up claiming the kingship to give him more authority in the process - he's High King of the Noldor and Sindar and King of the Edain (given that there are like three half-vanyar in middle-earth, he's more or less king of all children of iluvatar) and so he can have command over the entirety of the West.
and with the help of the Ring, this actually works! but the corruption starts to show eventually
he uses his kinship to Gondor to forcefully drag them into his neo-gondolin-empire-creation so he can ensure none of his great-nephews will ever have to face sauron. he extends the walls to encompass Mirkwood, because he's the high king of the sindar and has a duty to protect thranduil's realm, and unleashes the full might of his melian-lite powers to purge Sauron's Shadow and the spawn of Ungoliant from the now-Greenwood.
Galadriel and Glorfindel very much see where this is going and are very very worried. galadriel won't let him build walls around lothlorien (because she lives next door to a balrog and knows exactly what happened to gondolin) but celeborn thinks it's a good idea, since after all Doriath wouldn't have fallen if Melian's girdle had still been up. glorfindel tries to talk him out of it but the ring has taken hold
the Ring's power also enhances all his natural weirdness and powers - he has his wings and maia markings permanently activated now, with or without finwean anger. he can fully shapeshift, and he goes from raising waves in the bruinen to raising tsunamis in the great sea.
except the finwean anger seems to be permanently activated now, too, and anyone who harms someone he's deemed under his protection finds themselves the target of a rather ironic vengeance quest. the shapeshifting is looking weird now - his teeth are always sharp now, and his eyes have gone fully inhuman. sometimes he has claws and his wings look more like bats than eagles. and his water powers are more like osse's- he can't calm the waters now (goldberry is the first to notice something's up) and can only stir them into massive ship-sinking storms and tsunamis.
this progresses until he's basically Evil Luthien ruling over a continent-wide Mega-Gondolin, slaughtering orc-hordes before they even reach the white walls and sinking any naval fleet Sauron tries to send around the coast. Everybody is brought in; nobody leaves; everyone is safe...?
he figures out that the dwarven legend of "Durin's Bane" has to be one of the few first age balrogs thats still unaccounted for. and well, it's living right on his border, and he can't risk another fall of gondolin, right? so he leads a small force in there to clear moria, and they shove the balrog off the edge, but it takes one of his captains (except glorfindel) with it (maybe erestor?) and he uses the ring and saves erestor, (and maybe floods the balrog for good measure), and glorfindel is sure he saw elrond's eyes go yellow for a moment.
and even fully corrupted, he knows he can't take the ring directly into mordor. but he can wipe out sauron's armies outside the walls, to protect his kingdom - because turgon's mistake was thinking he was safe even when there were balrogs and dragons and orcs outside, right?
somewhere along the way, arwen realizes what's happening and goes to live with galadriel. one of the twins goes with her; the other stays out of loyalty but eventually follows.
elrond's kingdom has become a cross between doriath and gondolin now, with all the surrounding lands warped by ring-magic to hide it, and layers of stone walls and iron gates preventing anyone from leaving. because everyone is here; nobody leaves; everyone is... safe?

I go thinking it's urban legend that people go around telling people they're a minor and naming their every label on their bios BUT THEY ACTUALLY DO
PLEASE DON'T TELL PEOPLE YOU'RE A MINOR
IF SOMEONE WEIRD IS INTERACTING WITH YOU, SIMPLY REPORT AND BLOCK THEM

As renisfan said, Dimitri doesn't think Flayn sounds suspicious at all in their A+ support. And tbh, if Flayn married a Blue Lion, and if Seteth married Ingrid, then I can easily see both Flayn and Seteth revealing the truth about their history to their partner. Which in turn might lead to the Blue Lions knowing as a whole. And if you believe CF Rhea told Dimitri the truth, then surely the same is true for AG Dimitri eventually since AG is just CF from the perspective of Faerghus instead.
Mmh -
I still think there's a difference between Dimitri knowing and accepting his future wife sleeps a lot and will survive him - without understanding what it really means - and Dimitri knowing Flayn is a Nabatean, meaning her blood and bones can be used to craft weapons and some people are out there wanting to harvest her.
As you said, we can all see them trusting the BL gang with their secret, because the BL gang, unlike some other people, aren't the kind of characters to ostracise people based on the shape of their ears, at least when they're not OOC or warped by plot powers like what happens in Tru Piss if they join Supreme Leader.
But to make that jump?
CF and AG are still different on one crucial/capital point though :
Flamey!
Flamey didn't already sort of revealed what Nabatean Bones and Crest Stones can do (tfw no Baldo or Waldi acknowledged by the plot in Nopes), so in a way, in FE16, Flamey was the one who started to reveal "the truth", as her acolytes also kidnapped Flayn for her blood.
Given how Nopes erased Supreme Leader's fondness for Pointy Ears and Baldo and Waldi don't exist, no one knows what are Crest Stones bar the shiny jewels on relics.
In other words, FE16's events suggest to the world that humans exist, and other "beings" of certain power - even if the game tries its hardest to ignore it, or to prevent people from reacting to that knowledge, bar Supreme Leader and Hubert.
In Nopes? We know there are humans, and mole people, that's it.
CF!Dimitri might have seen Rhea turn in the IO in Garreg Mach, to protect the Monastery, and would have of course received a lot of "information campaign" deriding her as a inhuman and cruel beast. Coupled with the demonic beasts popping up, he's already in the mindset of "learning" that some people looking like people aren't... human (and he is okay with it!).
In Nopes, bar the rumour about a large white beast (I thought the IO was a known figure!!), telling him that giant dragons exist who can also turn into humans would maybe be taken as a joke "haha and you tell me Flayn is a fierce beast? Please.".
As for Rhea...
As explained above, Flamey opened the barn in FE16, Rhea is really really desperate in Tru Piss because Billy/Sothis turns against her, and she's again betrayed by a Hresvelg. She's being called inhuman and a "beast" by opposing forces, and had to witness people using, again, remains of her own kin as weapons, to the point of crafting new ones (Waldi!) and even capturing her niece.
So while Rhea's trust issues would be exceptionally low - Dimitri, with the knowledge from the past year, who also got his own share of "information campaign" might accept her and her kin too - especially if people already know (Manu and Bernie comment about it iirc?) she is not-human (a lot of people saw her in Garreg Mach?) - all of her secrets (the biggest of them at least) are already found out.
So there is no need to hide anything anymore.
---
But yep, if Dimitri or any of the Lions know anything about the Nabateans, they will share with the rest of their friends because they are trustworthy, and I really like the parallel it creates to the first Adrestia - Nabateans trusted a bunch of humans who were worthy of said trust and never betrayed them...
Only to be betrayed by their descendants, 1000 years later.
I can see Flayn choosing to trust anew, and Seteth too, if Flayn does it, but Rhea? Without the extreme circumstances from Tru Piss, I can't see her do it, or maybe she finally does post AM, when she's chillaxing in Zanado (since she already doesn't value her life, it's better to come clean to the new King who unknowingly helped her, even if, in True Rhea fashion, she'd omit mentioning Seteth'n'Flayn in her "I'm not a human" speech. Hilarity ensues if Flayn already revealed the secret though, Dimitri being all "I already know about your ears, Flayn showed me hers!" which would be very serious business because showing ears to a human is akin to holding his hand). To be fair, AM!mural ending with a sort of cloth on Aredbhar could also mean Dimitri tries to put "it" to rest?
Ultimately I think it's a question or trust, can Nabateans trust the BL? Yes they can. Would they trust them? Flayn would without doubts, Seteth - who already spent 20 years pretending to be a human and hiding his true self - might do it too.
Rhea? She'd need a lot of external circumstances.
Maybe she would, post AG after the Monastery is retaken since she seems to admire/respect/love Dimitri but given how Zahras!Dimitri exists, she's setting herself up to be disappointed, again.
Fodlan KT sequel : Saviour King Dimitri's descendant, 1100 years after the events of AM/AG, starts a war against the Church of Seiros because Dimitri's sekrit history told his descendants that the Archbishop is not a human and eats babies for breakfast, and controls humans.
AU where everything is well that ends well : AG!Dimitri breaks his weapon while training and goes to find a lady in a lake who will give him a new sword (Flayn told him to go to that lake, but she didn't mention the lady part, Sylvain did), but it's actually a giant turtle, who makes fun of his ponytail and transforms in a human (!!!).
Since he gave him news of his "beloved niece" the turtle-man accepts to forge a new weapon, asking him if he also wants a "white sword" because Rhea kept on pestering him back then to make a "white sword" - Dimitri is shocked, Flayn is this turtle-man's niece and he knows Lady Rhea?
Lured by the smell of Zanado fruits on his hands (Dimitri tried to peel one for Rhea during their teatime sessions, while she brought him tea) he joins the party and sells everything out, since this man appears to be "Cethleann's friend", how he made a lot of swords for his siblings and their friends back then, how Macuil - that brat - took his credit, but he isn't like Cichol, he just finds it amusing - did you know he ranted three days and three nights about the shield Rhea borrowed? - and how he could make some for he and his friends too, aren't they fighting against Adrestia - it'll be a good occasion to make fun of Rhea, who kept on bragging about Wilhelm being her friend and how she trusted him a lot whenever Cichol said something - but in return they'll have to stop using their relics, because those things are dangerous and, anyways, it's better to put their siblings to rest.
Indech crafts B!Dimitri's lance for him, while Rhea's mortified, he just spelt out 1000 years of craftfully intricate "secrets" in one day?? "If your secrets were crafted like your crown, they would have been discovered sooner than later, sister."
Cue the BL realising what their Relics are, reacting to the plot and the Nabateans, feeling like dirt until Rhea tells them that children shouldn't be responsible for the sins of their parents, and asking them to forgive her for lying - the game shifting from "uwu war bad but can't we walk with her" to "let's stop this nonsense, and find the culprits who erased your world and try to do the same with ours"
Dimitri'd reply to Clout in Zahras with something closer to "shut up", like how he lived amongst them and saw none of what Clout is preaching, also he trusts them and trusting each other is the first step to create peace, thus, Zahras!Dimitri is erased from the plot.
the end

You can look up the protected species in your area and see if any of them are in your wetland. Then I think you contact your regional ecological services people from the fish and wildlife service, if you live in the US. You could also try the EPA, but they might not help. Your local extension office might be able to give you advice. They usually know about that kind of thing.
Hiya, and yes indeedy! Aside from my whining on Tumblr, all those local channels have been thoroughly explored & are waiting to be contacted further should anything continue to develop! I can not at all guarantee success as my neighbor is by and large the owner of the land, has purposefully not recognized it as wetland in the past (thus it is not listed on property maps/landscape maps of the area/etc... they literally just show it as a field), and in my small, rural (& quite conservative) town, said neighbor has a hell of a lot of sway!! Unfortunately! But yes, 1000%, we are doing the best we can to protect both it and the wildlife that lives there :")

Yellow Trail Loop | Steege Hill | New York
There are a lot of nice places to explore nature near where I live. One of my favorite local spots is Steege Hill Nature Preserve from the Finger Lakes Land Trust. There are several trails to explore while at Steege Hill. The trail I like the most is the yellow trail. And this photo illustrates my favorite part of that particular trail. On this section of trail there is a persistent layer of…

Yandere Fae - Temptation
he just wants to know your name, that’s all. he promises.
tw: yandere themes, possessive behaviour, reader is lowkey okay with it, implied murder, unhealthy relationships, stockholm syndrome (?)
Tumblr media
“Come now, darling,” he croons, so very sweetly, “it’s just a name. I promise I won’t tell.”
He leans his cheek against your arm, gazing up pleadingly. You sigh as you feel your resolve waver. He— the fae— Lucian, he says his name is but you don’t know if he’s telling the truth.
Fae can’t lie, you’d been told as a child. The people of your town nary spoke of the faekind, save in warning tales. They’d told of weaknesses, of iron and salt. Lies. Falsehoods born from ignorance. Fae could lie, could weave truths of honeyed poison sweeter than any ambrosia. One thing you did know was not to tell one your name. Your grandmother had told you. She was the same woman who warned you of the dangers, who thwarted the ignorant claims of the fellow villagers
“Please.” Lucian all but whines. You can’t help but giggle in amusement. For such a powerful creature, he’s acting as though he were a puppy. “It’s just a name.”
But it’s not just a name. Name’s are powerful. They hold history, stories, one’s very being. So, you’ll refuse him once more. “I can’t.”
“Can’t or won’t?” Lucian tilts his head. The slightest hint of venom tinges his tone. His slit pupils are dilated double their size, like a predator catching sight of its prey. “Tell me your name.”
Lucian’s been persistent in his efforts. Ever since you moved into a cottage deep within the forest. Unable to bear the repetitive, noisy life of your village, you left. He’s been following you ever since you moved in. He’s bound, tethered to the place. To the land. Through magical means you don’t understand. Lucian adores pestering you with questions, and inane conversation, that you’ve grown to enjoy. But above all else, he seems determined to get your name. Not that you plan to give it to him.
He makes a frustrated noise, a pout forming on his lips. “You’re so stubborn.” Lucian complains. “Just tell me. I won’t tell anyone else, I swear.”
Liar, you think fondly, It’s cute, really, the effort he puts in.
Biting your lip, you briefly contemplate your sanity. Should others find themselves in this situation they wouldn’t be as calm. They’d panic. You should panic. You should probably run for the hills. For it’s not his status as a fae that forebodes danger. He’s— Lucian is complex.
The good-natured mask he wears is just that. A mask. One he wears for you. Your relationship with Lucian is multilayered. Surface level, it is a give and take. What he gives and what you take remains unclear. Surface level, you’re companions. But that implies trust. You don’t trust him. You’re smart enough not too.
“I’m heading out to town.” You tell him. “To the market.”
Lucian huffs. He storms off like a petulant child, intelligibly whining and a pout on his face. You roll your eyes. Gathering a basket and pulling on a cloak, you step out of the cottage. The way to town isn’t marked by a path. You memorize trees and large stones. Landmarks. You trek through the woodlands, thoughts of Lucian occupying your mind.
You hold a certain fondness for him. For the little game you two indulge in. It’s an odd affection, a tired, old one. He makes you cook for him, bemoaning your atrocious mortal cuisine as he eats all of it. He follows you around the cottage with seemingly no concept of personal space. He lingers around you, as if he were a ghost and you his haunt. He entertains you. With tall-tales spun from silk. He offers you gifts in the form of odd trinkets, flowers, nuts, sometimes gems.
Lucian perplexes you. Because despite the casualness of your relationship, you’d be a fool to not be aware of the power imbalance in between the two of you. There’s something dark, dangerous. An ancient, primal magic tethering him to the cottage. To you.
You shake off your wonderings as you reach a clearing. Down, to the left is a quaint little town. It’s sparsely populated, everyone knows everyone, at least everyone who inhabits the area. Locals are wary of travellers, yet they are not so foolish to deny potential patrons business. Their market, tavern, and inn are what’s to be expected of a place such as this. It’s sufficient for your needs, though. Far be it for you to complain.
You stop by the market, examining items being sold by the vendors. As you take an apple in hand, trying to determine whether the produce is worth it’s price, a hand reaches by you. Curiously, you sneak a glance to the person it belongs to.
You’re met with the appearance of a rugged, rogue. Weary from his travels, if you’d have to guess. He gives you half-grin half-smirk that makes your insides flutter. Normally, you’d offer him a flirtatious smile. Perhaps he’d ask to take you out for the night, to the tavern. You’d drink sweet mead and suggest stopping at an inn for the night. Spend it together. Alas, the sanctity of your normal ended upon your meeting with Lucian.
“‘Scuse me, love,” he says, voice a rough timbre. It’s so different than Lucian’s smooth, honeyed lilt. You like it. “You ain’t from ‘round here, eh?”
You nimbly step aside, appreciating the view. You should leave, you know the consequences if you stay. “No.” You tell him. “I live a little ways away.”
He smiles at that. A small little grin that’s almost a smirk. What a dangerous thing, he is. He starts chatting you up. You know what he wants from you and you’re quite certain he knows what he wants from you. You should be beyond such inhibitions— but it’s been so very long since you’d indulged in a bit of fun. So you let him take you back to his inn, slip something in his beer so when he’s done and your sated, he’ll slip right off. The moment he does, you slink away, trekking through the woods back home. Most people wouldn’t, scared of the dangers lurking. But the forest knows that the true danger resides within your home, guaranteeing your safety.
The moment you make it back, Lucian appears, leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed. “Entertaining night?”
His tone is frigid and cold, almost the same as his usual indifference. But you know him better than that. “Very.” You hum. “And yet, I’m here with you.”
“Yet you’re here with me.” He parrots. The shift in his demeanour is almost imperceptible, a change so subtle it appears meaningless. You watch as he slinks away, the satisfaction of his tone lingering throughout your mind. The affirmation, to both him and you, that you were here. That you came crawling back to him. That the pull, the tether he held on your being remained tight as ever.
That you were—
Not his. You were still your own being. You let out a shaky sigh and head up to bed. You’ve had too much to drink, you tell yourself. The next morn, when you awaken, groggily blinking, something immediately feels off. After living like this— after living with him— for so long, you’ve come to understand to trust your intuition while ignoring the warning bells ringing in your head.
You head down the stairs. Your body is heavy from your hang over. It dulls your senses. You know you need to be on guard, lest Lucian have his way. Speak of the devil, you muse, as he leans on the kitchen island smugly. “Rough night?”
“Don’t.” You warn, grabbing a pot and filling it with water to boil. Lician laughs. His laughter sharp and smooth. “Forgive me, lovely.” He croons. “I do not intend to rouse that temper of yours.”
You eye him suspiciously. Of course, you’re always suspicious in regards to him, but this behaviour is odd. Odder than usual. He usually demands you cook for him, asks for your name, then huffs when you rebuff him. It’s routine and Lucian isn’t one for breaking routine. You rake over his handsome, pointed features. He sports an usual grin. Self-satisfied and almost victorious. Then, you spot a crimson splatter along the underside of his throat.
“Is there something wrong, lovely?” He inquires, tilting his head almost as if to show you the blood stained on his neck.
Don’t give in. Don’t pay attention to it. You learned early on giving in only worsens his behaviour. “No.” You answer firmly. You avoid his question, evasive and ignorant. Your ignorance serves as a shield. “I ought to make something, barely ate yesterday.”
Lucian’s eyes flicker with both annoyance and pleasure. “Make me some too.” He orders, before sauntering off.
It sends a shiver down your spine, your compliance. Barely able to deny him, yet unable to give into him. It irks him. It also pleases him. It’s a game between the two of you. One neither of you can quit. You tow the line each time, out of selfishness. The desire to be free. To be as it was. It ends in his possessive fits, with blood shed, staining your hands crimson. Yet you continue. His attention is intoxicating. As addicting as mead. It drives you mad, tantalizes you, taunts you. But you don’t give in fully. Can’t. At least, not yet.
“Come now, lovely. I know you wish to fall into temptation with me.”

Ok, so this is a callout post for EstablishedTitles.com
As a Scottish person, I need to say this:
ESTABLISHED TITLES IS A SCAM!
You cannot become a Lord/Lady in Scotland by owning land of any size. The title of Lord or Lady are titles of Peers in the House of Lords, who are members of the House of Lords, the Upper House of the British Parliament. You get a peerage by donating a fucktonne of money to the Tory party being appointed as such by the British Government, not by owning Land in Scotland. If owning land was enough to get you a peerage, my parents would be Lord and Lady Stabbii. They are not. In fact my Dad is banned from any official honours.
There are better ways to support tree planting, rewilding or natural landscape projects in Scotland, namely by donating to either the National Trust for Scotland or the Scottish Wildlife Trust. Both of these charities are trusted, well established and reliable charities that carry out rewilding, tree planting and nature conservation all over Scotland. If you want a cool title, make one yourself.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
