Benefits of Hand Crafted Soy Wax Nature Scent Candles
One of the most possible natural waxes can be derived from a bean known as soya. It is a naturally available soya bean plant from which the wax can be derived. The wax itself can be extracted from further processing the soya-bean oil. Soy wax has many advantages over a paraffin wax. It isΒ
1. Environmental friendly
2. Renewable resource
3. Less β€œSoot” disposed after burning
4. Strong and lasting scent
5. Burns slower than a normal paraffin wax
The process of making natural soy wax may be a bit longer than paraffin wax, but these advantages prove to be overpowering the fact of it. The process of extraction of a soy wax is natural as compared to a paraffin wax as it is made from petroleum and is non-renewable. According to many studies using a fragrance scented candle made out of soy wax calms your mind and nerves with its therapeutic properties. Not only that, most of the candles made out of paraffin emit black smoke or soot while burning, hand poured soy candles burn clean and result in lower soot.Β

FIT-WIX has a range of home fragrance scented candle and is known for its unique hand poured soy candle. The company focuses on lifestyle brand with big dreams and simple philosophy. Our shop is back open now (after almost a year of being on hiatus)! There's a whole explanation over there about what's been going on with us (spoiler alert: it's nothing good :P) but we figured with a shop that's staying in one heckin' place, we'd reintroduce you to all of the scents in our lineup! :D
Β The fifth candle we introduced was Puckish Rogue and it's inspired by the Saints Row series (mostly the main character aka the Boss you create <3)! It’s a musky scent with a hint of cherry blossom and is both hard and relaxing, so you can be both badass and chill at the same time, just like the awesome Boss you created. :)
Β This candle is an 8oz. glass jelly jar with a pewter daisy cut lid and has a cotton/paper wick. All of our candles are made with 100% natural soy wax, are handmade and are poured in very small batches. You can find Puckish Rogue and others over at Waxing Sky Studios!
You can also get wax melts of all of our scents as well (aroma beads are also on the horizon!) in case you are in a place where you can't burn candles but still want a scent!

Guide to Candle Making at Home
Tumblr media
Learning to make candles is a pleasant way to add warmth, aroma, and personal flair to your living spaces at a time when handcrafted and personalized design is more appealing than ever. Making your own candles at home is not just a fun pastime, but an artistic endeavour that may help you relax with the peaceful flicker of a handmade candle or give loved ones a token of your creativity and heart. With the help of this beginner candle-making tutorial, you will learn all the fundamentals of candle-making and become an expert candle maker from the comfort of your own home.
Getting Started: The Basics of Candle Making
Candle-making combines simplicity and creativity, allowing you to customize everything from the scent to colour to shape. The basic supplies you need include:
Wax: The soul of your candle. Soy wax is popular for its clean burn and environmental friendliness, while beeswax enchants with its natural, sweet fragrance and air-purifying qualities.
Wicks: The heart of your candle. Cotton wicks are a go-to for a steady burn, crucial for an evenly melting candle.
Fragrance Oils: The personality of your candle. Essential oils or specially designed candle fragrances allow you to tailor your candle to any mood or preference.
Containers: The body of your candle. From sleek glass jars to rustic ceramic pots, your container says as much about your candle as the fragrance does.
Melting Pot: A double boiler or a dedicated melting pot for wax.
Thermometer: To monitor the wax temperature, ensuring it's perfect for adding fragrance.
Colour Dyes: Optional, if you wish to add a splash of colour to your candles.
Step-by-Step Guide to Making Candles at Home
Preparing Your Workspace Make sure everything in your office is tidy and nothing you don't require. Making candles may get messy, so having a designated area is ideal. Cover your work surface with old towels, newspapers, or craft paper. This helps to prevent spills and drips of wax and facilitates cleanup. Arrange all of your supplies and equipment so they are accessible. Included in this are your thermometer, double boiler, container, wick, fragrance oil, and any colouring agents you intend to employ.
Melting the Wax Put the water in the bottom pot of your double boiler on the stove. Fill the top pot with the wax and slowly melt it over medium heat. Check the wax's temperature with a thermometer. The best temperature to add fragrance to soy wax is about 185Β°F. Burning or evaporating the fragrance oil in the wax might result from overheating.
Adding Fragrance and Colour After the wax reaches the proper temperature, take it off the burner and allow it to cool for a short while. By doing this, the fragrance oil is kept from vanishing too soon. Add your fragrance oil and stir until well combined. As a general rule, one ounce of fragrance should be added to one pound of wax, but pay attention to the directions on the fragrance oil. Now is the time to add dye, if using. Solid dye chips can also be used, but liquid dye blends more smoothly. Add little by little and stir until the desired colour is reached.
Securing the Wick Dip the base of your wick in the melted wax, then quickly adhere it to the bottom centre of your container. This helps keep it in place. To keep the wick centred and upright as the wax cools, place a pencil, chopstick, or skewer across the top of the container and wrap or clip the top of the wick to it.
Pouring the Wax Ensure the wax is around 135Β°F to 145Β°F before pouring β€” this temperature range helps prevent cracking and ensures a smooth surface. Gently pour the wax into the container, leaving about half an inch at the top. Pouring too quickly can create air bubbles.
Cooling and Curing Let the candle cool to room temperature, out of the direct sunlight and drafts. This may require up to a whole day, contingent upon the candle's dimensions. Reheat the remaining wax and slowly pour it over the surface to even it out if a sinkhole appears close to the wick. Cover the candle and allow it to cure for a minimum of 48 hours after it has completely cooled. Curing enhances the perfume by allowing the fragrance oils to completely bind with the wax.
Finishing Touches Trim the wick to about ΒΌ inch above the wax. This helps ensure an even burn and prevents the flame from getting too large. Use warm, soapy water to clean your tools. Wax is easier to clean while it's still slightly warm.
Why Make Your Own Candles?
Beyond the satisfaction of creating something beautiful, making your own candles allows you to control the quality of the ingredients, ensuring they are environmentally friendly and safe to burn in your home. It's also a wonderful way to personalise candle gifts to friends and family, infusing them with your personal touch and affection.
Ready, Set, Create!
Candle-making is not just an activity; it's a way to personalize your space, create meaningful gifts, and enjoy the tranquillity of crafting something beautiful and functional. With the basics down, you’re ready to embark on a journey of creativity and relaxation, making your own candles at home with ease and confidence.

' Tyler, darling, would you mind terribly if I bought all your pink candles? Or, commissioned you to make me a batch? ' Naturally, the vampire had no true need for any of them at present - much too focused on the notion of pink candles to really think up anything tangible. Plus, it was a free excuse to pay Tyler a visit, and Vayn did so love his social calls. ' Do you... do you take commissions? ' / vayn @ tyler !
Tumblr media
Tyler smiled upon his name being called, hauling a box onto the surface of his counter, he turned his head towards his customer and very adorable friend. "Pink candles? Like every pink candle I own or a specific type? Because I've got scented and unscented, some with pink centres under another colour and wax melts and lots more?" Tyler dusted his hands off to step away from his work for a moment and step closer to Vayn's place in his store. Patting a beam on his passing to stop nearby and smile upon Vayn's queries. "Oh, defo do, cutie-pie. Everything in the shops made by me, so if you've got a specific look or design, aroma or use for it. I can happily make you one or more."
Tumblr media
"You got a party planned or something?" Curious with genuine interest to the sudden want for them. "I've got a load in storage already boxed for the standard stick made from soy or beewax. Can take a bit to pull them all out though. Want me to deliver them to your place?"

Choosing the Best Longer-Lasting Candle: A Comprehensive Guide
Tumblr media
Candles are more than just sources of light; they add warmth, ambiance, and fragrance to any space. Whether you're setting the mood for a cozy evening or simply want your home to smell delightful, candles can transform a room. However, the experience can be cut short if the candle burns too quickly, leaving you wishing it lasted longer. In this guide, we’ll explore how to choose the best longer-lasting candle that provides more burn time and value for your money. We will also touch on the benefits of selecting a premium scented candle or a fancy scented candle for those special occasions when you want something truly indulgent. Explore options from Crafiteria.com, where you’ll find high-quality candles that are designed to last.
1. Understand the Wax: The Foundation of a Longer-Lasting Candle
The type of wax used in a candle is the most critical factor in determining how long it will burn. Some waxes burn quickly, while others melt more slowly and evenly, offering a longer-lasting experience.
Paraffin Wax: This is one of the most commonly used waxes in candles. It holds fragrance well and tends to be inexpensive, but paraffin candles often burn quickly. If you're looking for a longer-lasting candle, paraffin might not be the best option.
Soy Wax: Made from soybean oil, soy wax is a natural and eco-friendly alternative to paraffin. Soy wax burns at a lower temperature, which means it lasts longer. Candles made from soy wax typically burn cleaner as well, producing less soot and offering a more even burn. For a premium, long-lasting experience, consider soy-based options from Crafiteria.com.
Beeswax: Another natural wax, beeswax, burns very slowly and produces a pleasant, subtle honey scent. While it can be more expensive than other wax types, beeswax is a great choice if you're looking for a longer-lasting candle. However, its scent may not always mix well with added fragrances.
The choice of wax is essential in determining how long your candle will last. If you want a clean, slow burn, opt for soy wax or beeswax. Crafiteria.com offers a range of high-quality, long-lasting candles that incorporate natural ingredients for optimal burn time.
2. Consider Wick Type for Maximum Burn Efficiency
A candle’s wick is often overlooked, but it plays a crucial role in how evenly and slowly the candle burns. The wrong type of wick can lead to uneven burning, sooting, or even tunneling, which wastes valuable wax.
Cotton Wicks: Most high-quality candles use cotton wicks, which are designed to burn evenly. Look for candles with 100% cotton wicks, as these will provide a steady, even burn and help the candle last longer.
Wooden Wicks: For something more unique, you might consider a candle with a wooden wick. These wicks provide a slower, consistent burn and offer the added bonus of a subtle crackling sound that adds to the ambiance. A wooden wick also helps prevent tunneling, where the candle burns down the middle, leaving wax wasted along the edges.
The combination of a quality wick with a slow-burning wax, such as soy or beeswax, is essential for a longer-lasting candle. Premium candles often feature the best wicks to ensure an optimal burn time, so always check the wick type before making a purchase.
3. Size and Shape: How They Influence Burn Time
Candle size and shape are significant factors in how long a candle will last. Larger candles with more wax will naturally burn longer than smaller ones, but the shape of the candle can also make a difference in how efficiently it burns.
Jar Candles: A jar candle, especially one made from soy wax, offers some of the longest burn times. The enclosed environment helps the wax burn more evenly, maximizing burn time. A premium scented candle in a jar from Crafiteria.com can burn for 50 to 70 hours or more, depending on its size and care.
Pillar Candles: These large, freestanding candles also offer a long burn time, especially if made from high-quality wax like beeswax or soy. However, they require more attention to maintain an even burn, such as frequent wick trimming.
Votive and Tealight Candles: Smaller candles like votives and tealights won’t give you the same long burn times as larger jar or pillar candles. They are best used for short bursts of ambiance rather than long-lasting illumination or fragrance.
4. Choose a Premium or Fancy Scented Candle for a Luxurious Experience
While there are many basic candles on the market, sometimes it’s worth investing in a premium scented candle or a fancy scented candle for a truly luxurious experience. These candles are made from the highest-quality materials, including natural waxes and hand-poured fragrances, to create a candle that burns longer and smells better.
Premium Scented Candle: A premium candle usually features natural waxes like soy or beeswax, combined with superior fragrance oils that provide a rich, long-lasting scent. These candles burn slower and emit a more potent fragrance, making them a great choice for special occasions or as gifts. Crafiteria.com offers a range of premium candles that combine long-lasting burn times with beautifully crafted scents.
Fancy Scented Candle: For those moments when you want to treat yourself or someone special, a fancy candle is the perfect choice. These candles often come in elegant containers, like glass jars or ceramic holders, and use premium ingredients to ensure the best burn time and fragrance throw. A fancy scented candle can add a touch of luxury to your home and is ideal for creating a relaxing, indulgent atmosphere.
Investing in a premium or fancy candle is not just about the scent; it’s about the entire experience. The longer burn time, coupled with a high-quality scent, makes these candles a worthwhile addition to any home.
5. Proper Candle Care for Maximum Burn Time
Even the best longer-lasting candle needs proper care to ensure it burns efficiently and for as long as possible. Here are a few tips to help extend your candle’s life:
Trim the Wick: Before each burn, trim the wick to 1/4 inch. A longer wick can cause the candle to burn too quickly and unevenly. Keeping the wick trimmed ensures a controlled, slow burn and reduces soot.
Burn Until the Wax Reaches the Edge: On the first burn, let the candle melt until the wax pool reaches the edge of the container. This helps prevent tunneling, where the candle burns down the middle and leaves unused wax on the sides.
Keep Away from Drafts: Air currents can cause your candle to burn unevenly and faster. Place your candle in a draft-free area for a more consistent burn.
By following these simple care tips, you can maximize the burn time of your premium scented candle or fancy scented candle, ensuring you get the most out of your purchase.
Conclusion
Choosing the best longer-lasting candle comes down to selecting the right wax, wick, and size. For a candle that burns slowly and evenly, opt for natural waxes like soy or beeswax, and make sure it comes with a high-quality cotton or wooden wick. Investing in a premium scented candle or a fancy scented candle from Crafiteria.com not only gives you more burn time but also enhances the overall ambiance and fragrance experience in your home. By following proper candle care practices, you can enjoy the warm glow and delightful scent of your candle for hours on end, making your investment last even longer.

Beeswax Scented Candles: Natural Elegance from Bluecorn Candles
In a world where more people are seeking sustainable and eco-friendly options for everyday products, beeswax scented candles have emerged as a top choice for those who want to enjoy the beauty and warmth of candlelight without compromising on quality or the environment. At Bluecorn Candles, we specialize in crafting premium beeswax candles that are not only elegant but also beneficial for your well-being and the planet.
Tumblr media
What Are Beeswax Scented Candles?
Beeswax is a natural wax produced by honeybees in their hives. When harvested responsibly, beeswax offers a wide range of benefits. Unlike paraffin or soy-based candles, beeswax candles are completely natural, non-toxic, and biodegradable. This makes them an eco-friendly alternative for individuals seeking cleaner, healthier air in their homes.
Beeswax scented candles at Bluecorn Candles are made from pure beeswax combined with natural essential oils, creating a warm, inviting fragrance that elevates any space. Our beeswax candles emit a subtle honey-like aroma, which is perfect for those who prefer a more natural scent profile.
Benefits of Beeswax Scented Candles
1. Clean and Natural Burn: Beeswax candles burn longer and cleaner than conventional candles. They produce virtually no smoke or soot, helping to keep your indoor air clean. In fact, beeswax releases negative ions when burned, which can help neutralize pollutants like dust, mold, and other allergens in the air.
2. Environmentally Friendly: Our beeswax candles are sourced from sustainable beekeepers who take great care in protecting bee populations and their habitats. The production process is eco-conscious, and the wax is 100% biodegradable, ensuring that our products are gentle on the environment.
3. Hypoallergenic and Safe for Sensitive Users: For individuals who are sensitive to artificial fragrances and chemicals, Bluecorn Candles’ beeswax scented candles are a great option. Our candles are free of toxins and synthetic additives, making them a healthy and hypoallergenic alternative to standard scented candles.
4. Longer Burn Time: Beeswax has a higher melting point than other types of wax, meaning our candles burn slower and last longer. This makes them not only a premium choice but also a cost-effective one, as they provide more hours of warm, glowing light for your home.
The Bluecorn Candles Difference
At Bluecorn Candles, we believe in the power of nature and craftsmanship. Every beeswax candle we produce is carefully handcrafted with attention to detail. We prioritize sustainability, ensuring that our materials are responsibly sourced, and our products are made with minimal impact on the environment.
Our beeswax scented candles are available in a variety of sizes and styles, from classic pillar candles to beautifully designed tapers and votives. Each candle is infused with natural essential oils, offering fragrances like lavender, eucalyptus, and vanilla that are both soothing and invigorating.
Why Choose Bluecorn Candles?
Sustainably Sourced: We work with trusted beekeepers who prioritize the health and well-being of their bees, ensuring our beeswax is responsibly harvested.
Handcrafted Quality: Every candle is meticulously made by artisans who are passionate about their craft.
Natural Ingredients: We use only pure beeswax and essential oils, avoiding any synthetic fragrances or harmful chemicals.
A Commitment to Clean Air: Our candles are a healthier alternative to traditional candles, promoting better indoor air quality and a cleaner burn.
