I really really liked the music by Rammstein that was playing at the club and I went searching for it on youtube but now that I've seen their music videos and their logo I'm like. Desperately googling whether or not they're neonazis before I go on
they're supposedly against nazis but like. they "avoid politics". and also this is here
Tumblr media
I do not trust you people.

There's this beautiful radiant white haired woman in my writers group & she's a retired art therapist who is now a full time carer of her mother & we've spoken a lot about the agonies of having very broken family members including young men u love (her son & nephews, my brother & cousins) becoming drawn towards neonazi ideologies when you can literally REMEMBER when they were gentle young boys who loved the world ....... & today I randomly ran into her and her son in a coffee shop and somehow I agreed to going with him to a "helping refugees learn English through casual conversation" event tomorrow. Help.

You ever look at a tumblr post and *know* the notes on it will be unhinged. But like you're ready for the drama. For the panache. For that certain something only someone admitting they were a homophobic fujoshi so they can dunk on someone making a school shooting joke can give.
Anyways the posting population on tumblr is full on feral and this site continues to have the best pvp of any social media. But it also has spectator mode so you can find that juicy Play of the Game where someone says liking Marvel movies means you would be a collaborator in Weimar Germany.

Practically I know why you can't edit your polls after you post them - you could entice people to vote for one option and then change it to 'kill all puppies and resurrect Hitler' or something. However, consider: I made a typo and I'm angry.

1) Have you any thoughts on Fiddler on the Roof? 2) i know that the fact that he was played by a goyim pretty much discualifies him, but still: what did you think of the way Magneto was portrayed in X-men first class?
1) I love the music of Fiddler on the Roof. I love the cultural footprint it's left, but I honestly hate it when gentiles make productions of it. I've literally seen gentiles put on nose prosthetics and adopt stereotypical Yiddish accents to play Tevye and the like and it's like.... seriously it's 2022 Jew-face should not be so normalized.
2) I didn't like that Magneto was played by a gentile, but honestly it was awesome seeing him kill Nazis. I hated though how the movie tried to portray him as being "overly aggressive" or "cruel" for doing so. No! Let the Nazis suffer!!! Let him torture those Nazis. The way Magneto was condemned for killing Nazis, especially the man who tortured him and murdered his mother, just reminded me of how Israel and Jews worldwide were condemned for the Eichmann Trial. Because G-d forbid Jews stand up for ourselves and enact justice. But....the music is First Class was excellent and I have the soundtrack on my playlist, and at one point I had the entire movie memorized, and then translated it into Hebrew from memory. So.... y'know....the movie is important to me. It's very much a mixed feelings situation because on the one hand Magneto is my favourite character, no matter the iteration, but on the other....do better Marvel. Still.... I'm sure it's miles better than whatever the MCU is planning on doing with erasing Magneto's Jewish identity entirely.

hey did you know that when you post an undescribed screenshot of text talking about nazism it doesn't get picked up by any blacklist or filtering, thus forcing people to see posts about nazism when they have otherwise gone out of their way to AVOID seeing posts about nazism 🙃🙃

Again, I strongly encourage people to do research on how the Nazi party explicitly attacked modern art as being pointless and a threat to "Western civilization" as a way to discredit Jewish artists and any artist who spoke against the regime and to push them out of society. Modern artists lost their jobs, were ostracized by the art community, and the few pieces that were kept on display in museums were often targeted in fascist and antisemitic attacks.
This isn't a conspuracy theory, it's a very well recorded fact and it had a huge influence on the development of modern art and society's view of it. You can't separate the current hatred of modern art from its origins in fascism and trying to just inevitably means that you're going to end up falling into that mindset.

The trouble with self-consciously edgy urban fantasy RPGs which are explicitly set in the real world is that they always get fixated on the Second World War, and there's literally no good way to speculate about whether Hitler was a vampire or whatever – not only is it tasteless, it's done. It was cliché even in the 1990s, and it hasn't become any less cliché since. Like, at least switch up the war – I want to see an edgy urban fantasy RPG whose Secret History™ revolves around the proposition that Archduke Franz Ferdinand was from space.

tintin is incredible at timing
(possibly) the final snippet I'll post from my story The Gypsum Maw, the previous part which follows directly before is here - I've been seeing comments asking about where to read the full thing, I'm afraid what I post is basically it - I have more pages in my sketchbook but I suspect they are only legible to me!
this post is already long so more notes and credits under the cut!
I asked for some help for coming up with friends for Chang! The gentle giant Masek was created by InkyTrink on Twitter and the super excitable Libby was created by dreamyopal, a discord mutual:
Tumblr media
They came up with some great character notes and were super helpful providing feedback on my designs!
Writing this felt pretty odd in ways. I graduated in 2020 during the Plague Year so my class didnt get a public art showcase. I attended one last year and it was a bittersweet experience.
Reunions feel a bit like time travel, you see people after a few years and things change quite a lot. I wanted to explore this in my post canon series, Chang has grown up, found himself and has been able to live a fairly normal life with family and friends. Tintin in a way reflects that young adult insecurity about being stagnant, like you haven't been able to fully reach adulthood properly. His fame and status as a Young Boy Reporter is holding him captive, he longs for connection but is held back by expectations from both himself and the outside world.
I've also been inspired by the concept of 'queer time,' the concept that the lives of queer people progress differently to the lives of non queer people. It takes time to come to terms with yourself and to come out. Queer people are often excluded from milestones like marriage or having children. Tintin being confronted with his peers at a university highlights his insecurity about being left behind, but he's slowly making the journey to self acceptance by talking to others, and recognising common ground he has with others.
Chang's university isn't a one to one reference to a specific institution but in Belgium there was a secular movement in reaction to the dominance of the Catholic church, in which universities played a key role. There's references to art movements that were deemed "degenerate" by the Nazis here, such as Fauvism and Surrealism.

It’s maddening to find out that the scholar who first developed the idea that “Zionism is Settler Colonialism”, Fayez Sayegh, was a member of the Syrian Nazi Party during and immediately after the Holocaust, was an active participant in the Red Scare, using it to demonize Israel as a manifestation of a Global Communist Threat™️ through the height of the Cold War (true to his Nazi roots, accusing Israel of Judeo-Bolshevism) before switching to a Colonialism narrative when Post-Colonialism came in vogue in the 60s. And yet, the people I hear parroting the talking points of this anti-Communist, Ultranationalist Fascist-turned-scholar are the people who are constantly talking about how Liberal Progressives aren’t Communist enough and actually enemies because “Liberals will always side with Fascists”. Maddening.
If you’ve ever noticed how the “Zionism = Settler Colonialism” narrative eerily shares the core components of the far right’s Replacement Theory (that there are 1. Jews 2. conspiring to invade a given place and 3. replace the population with Jews), this is why; it’s because the idea that Zionism is Settler Colonialism came from a literal Nazi.
It is very literally Nazi propaganda.

Ok, so let me explain why rebloging posts like these do little to nothing to assure Jews that they’ll be safe around you.
Goyim reblogging this stuff don’t typically listen to Jews (which is apparent because we’ve said stuff like this doesn’t actually do anything to help us many times) about their experiences with antisemitism or listen when Jews try to educate them on things like antisemitic dog whistles or blood libel. Most of them are way more enthusiastic about punching Nazis than they are about showing any compassion to Jews. I’d venture to guess the majority of Jewish people know that often the goyim who reblog this stuff are just out for blood and don’t give a damn about us, because we’ve seen this many times. Not to mention that the desire for a violent revolution that some leftists seem to have has led to Jewish people facing a lot of antisemitism (at their hands). I would bet that some of the people reblogging this act similar to Nazis themselves. I know at the very least the goyim rebloging this don’t listen to Jews because we’ve said many times that this sort of thing doesn’t really do anything to help us, and we’d much rather goyim call out and learn about antisemitism. Overall, it’s just very performative activism, and it’s pretty obvious that the goyim reblogging this are just doing it to try and make themselves look better, and not for the sake of Jews.
