Did Alex ever explain the story behind Mabipper? I love her/them and I'm glad the pine tree journal Dipper got wasn't something Ford got him like a lot of people speculated back when Journal 3 got published.

Disenchantment has a lot of potential but only if they nix the Nice Guy™ thing they have going on with Elfo. The whole "friendzone" sub plot is cringey AF. Like awkward pining over someone who doesn't love you back sub-plots are hellah annoying and I don't want it to end with Bean and Elfo hooking up because he's a "nice guy". That trope only makes more entitled man children pissed off when women aren't rewarding their nice guy status with sex.

Yeah I’m not watching it for that, I’m watching it for Luci. I get while people are ticked about it but honestly it probably wasn’t gonna bust down any barriers for social justice to begin with.

Honestly I ge some people not trusting cishet people inherently due to the massive amounts of abuse and homophobia/transphobia but not trusting ace or other "not attracted to the same gender exclusively" non transgender folk is really fucking basic. Slut shaming and society enforced heteronormativity are bad, other sexual identities aren't.

@nearsightedgirl​ UH !! to be honest i havent watched a lot of shows in the past, so im still relatively new to figuring out what i like !! i dont have specific char archetypes but i guess i love action in shows. i LOVE fight scenes and mechas (vld!) but i also appreciate when a show can be relaxed and not as plot-driven 24/7

Aight I think I’d recommend...

Soul Eater (an anime that’s pretty good and has a very nice aesthetic that is kinda Halloween Town-esque)

it’s 51 episodes and has real good characters. The show ends different from the Manga because it caught up way too fast and they had to make due with how far the plot was at that point. Plus the music is ballin.

Sym-Bionic Titan is a show inspired in the vein of the original 80s Voltron made by Genndy Tartakovsky (creator of Samurai Jack) that ran for one season from 2010 to 2011 and was prematurely canceled but you might enjoy it nonetheless?

There is also the Thundercats 2011 reboot. After the success of Avatar: The Last Airbender Cartoon Network wanted to cash in on the whole “looks kinda anime” action series for kids vein only to realize it was way more expensive than something like the Powerpuff Girls or Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. 

Both the of the previous shows aired on Cartoon Network right around the time they wanted to make cheaper stuff the priority focusing on shows like Adventure Time that had simple character designs and less stuff with action as the main genre of the show. Not to mention it was hard to make toys for both shows, which was the main way to make money off a TV series until TV became more about advertising for third parties and spending money on things kids would actually want like tablet video games with in app purchases.

Speaking of CN canceling stuff earlier than they should have...

I don’t know if you watched Young Justice but while it is on the more serious end of the scale it was still pretty funny and had very good character development. The reason this got canceled was because the target demo was young boys but teen girls ended up watching it more so they didn’t know how to cash in on that (since marketing means you gotta stick to the target audience and if that fails to get traction your show is a failure the other demographics that are watching might as well not have any money switching marketing techniques to adapt to the people watching is still something networks find confusing today). It lasted 2 seasons and only after a long amount of fans demanding a season 3 did Warner Bros consider doing a season 3 but they want to make it exclusive to their DC comics TV series streaming service (this is so niche I doubt they will make enough money off of this though so that season could end up the last one period ) when it was originally going to be a Netflix thing.

I've seen your commentary on PMMM and Magical Girls as power fantasies going around and I was wondering if you have ever heard of Misfits of Avalon? It is a Western Comic author's take of the genre after she grew up with Sailor Moon but also loved action filled anime like Yu Yu Hakusho and western series like Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Oh, I hadn’t heard of that one! I read some other magical girl webcomics, like @loveponcomic, @agentsoftherealm, and @sleepless-domain, which all have things I find really well done or interesting. I might have to check out Misfits of Avalon too (someday, whenever I have time, which is a gamble, lol).

@nearsightedgirl after a checkup on my 3DS yesterday, I’ve confirmed that even if your PokeBank pass has expired, your bank is still active! You can only withdraw, though, so no depositing pokemon until you buy another PokeBank pass. (Admittedly, my pass expired on 3/1, and I...just sorta forgot about it... Until I saw that “don’t forget to renew your pokebank!” post.)

So yeah. Don’t panic if you’ve forgotten to pay your pass, kids! It’s cool! Your pokemon are still there!!
