crying sobbing bc the nintendo 3ds online servers are shutting down in april and APPARENTLY pokemon bank/transporter only work with internet. for some reason. even though you need the games to be physically inserted into the 3ds. ffs i’m so sad, i really wanted to hunt shiny wishmaker jirachi and get it into ORAS :( i could accept getting stuck in gen 6, if i couldn’t transfer to pokemon home without wifi. but if it can’t even make it out of gen 5… :(

Really upsetting that I didn’t have the foresight to re-download PokeBank before the 3DS eShop shut down, so now if I wanna transfer all my amazing ORAS ‘mons (including shinies and legendaries and just cute ‘mons with funny names that meant a lot to me) to my Violet file on Switch, I’d have to homebrew/hack my 3DS. ugh.

everyone online is telling me it’s sooo easy to hack a 3DS, but I looked it up and it does NOT look like something I could do. I’m not very technologically literate (despite boomers thinking I’m a tech whiz) and I don’t have a lot of patience. It looked like a very lengthy process. oh well. I guess I have to enjoy my old ‘mons in ORAS without any internet connection unable to battle with them online or anything. sigh.

EDIT: I guess I could buy a hacked 3DS off eBay or something, but… I’d really rather not.

Cynthia is indeed gen 4 , and she is the wonderful champion.

I remember hearing a quote somewhere about battling her. That losing to her is as natural as breathing is.

She has a garchomp as her ace Pokemon. Very strong<3. She's fucking infamous as being the hardest champion to beat . She can and will kick ass.

Also she gives the player a Togepi egg! Which, upon evolving into a Togekiss is very strong and can kick ass.

Cynthia is just. Very good (and once again very pretty).

oooh she sounds very cool! i'll have to get around to playing diamond or pearl someday to give a shot at beating her. i'll prolly save up to get a copy of the originals since the remarks for switch are apparently very very very bad <3 also need to buy a 3ds, because my 2d one went kapoot after chilling in my room for the past few years!

luckily i'm 99% game data is saved onto the physical cartridges so none of my shinies or legendaries should be lost. at least i hope :")

Sun and Moon is great, but I think Gen VII in general fell short as a result of USUM and its subscription-based services, like that Pokemon Bank thing. While it was free for a time, there wasn't a viable solution to filling your natdex lest you actually invested in the Pokebank service. Gen VII is the first game to introduce microtransaction, whereas Gen VIII and IX fully utilized it.

Their caught in the original Pokémon Red, hence their gameboy symbol! That’s the only reason I pulled them form there instead of my personal stockpile~

The way I got Missingno. to be shiny despite being pulled from a gen before shiny’s we’re introduced was because if you give them certain stats, when transfered up!

Granted to get them named, I had to have a friendly redditor with a modded DS rename them as pokebank will auto remove nicknames X3
