There are many talented voice actors and actresses in The Dragon Prince, however I'd like to turn my attention to a REALLY talented but underrated VA that was only in a few episodes, but done such an amazing job.

Brian Drummond.

He voiced both Ziard (also known as Necromage) and The Stern One but if I didn't know any better, I would have thought they were voiced by completely different people.

The way he voiced Ziard with such emotion when he stood up against Sol Regem in season 3 was really compelling and immerses the viewer into the moment. The "NO!" is so well voiced that you really feel for him and his passion in wanting to protect Elarion.

(Quick side note, but @bat-snake once noted that the Quasar Diamond is not concealed when Ziard wields it and I think about this a lot.)

He gives Ziard a creepier voice after he died, which in my opinion, is such a small detail but adds so much onto the character and to the tragedy of what happened to him.

Lastly, The Stern One. Not only does he not sound like Ziard at all in my opinion, but he gives him a larger commanding voice which is so fitting for one of the characters who sentenced Leola to die without any emotion whatsoever.

I don't like The Stern One as a character, but Brian Drummond did an amazing job with his character even with the little screentime the character had.

Like I said, while he was only in three episodes, I want to thank Brian Drummond for his amazing work and I hope if we get Arc 3, we get to hear much more from him. 🙏

I made his colors a little bit paler than usual here. I think I kinda like him more like this (I've never been much a fan of his yellowish fur color tbh) Now he looks a bit deader... which I feel like it's kinda fitting for a necromage like him xD. Maybe he was yellower as a kid/teen but his adult coat is like this.

So I’m not really sure WHY this happens like I have no idea what perk it comes from or if it’s due to a mod I have but I guess having absorb health enchanted on a weapon makes it self-recharge.

I haven’t used a soul gem to recharge a weapon in ages bc of this and once paired with a dual enchantment it’s so OP.

Might need to adjust their nose and mouth now that I've seen it all in full motion, but really happy at how Rowan's eyes and physicality are coming through in Veilguard.

So, officially presenting Rowan "Rook" Laidir (they/them). Haven't determined what type of curse befell them in this universe and we've got arrows instead of guns. Further backstory tweaks will be made as I discover them, but I suspect it's all mostly the same, what with trick shooting in a traveling show and brotherly betrayal that led to [ whatever passes for getting your chest and eyes turned into cathedral windows ]. (There's at least already something about getting rid of a dangerous artefact built it!)

This is actually based off of a fic I wrote, mirroring Ray's experience of being Miles' parent and Miles' experience of adopting Trucy, and neither actually remembering their mother at all, but still wondering about them. Maybe one day I'll post the fic, although it's not terribly likely.

But mostly I'm just happy everyone else loves Jorsu's art like I do ;O;

The reason it’s suggested you play as a Breton or high elf when being a mage in elder scrolls is that high elves have a good magical offense while Bretons have a good defense. In older games high elves even have a weakness to magic while Bretons have a very high resistance to it

In Skyrim that was toned down a bit so high elves aren’t weak to magic anymore. But Bretons are still very much resistant to magic. Which made me wonder. Could I make a Breton that’s nearly immune to magic damage?

And it turns out that’s very easy to do with a combination of the lord or atronach stone, grinding for alteration perks, and enchanting. However, it turns out the NPCs also know how to do this because I ended up in a like 15 minute long magic dual with a random Breton necromage and since I’m not using weapons or armor this playthrough after both of us ran out of magic I ended up running in circles like a chicken with my head cut off waiting for my magic to regenerate while she chased me with a knife. I wish I recorded my gameplay because it was the most looney tunes fight I’ve ever had in a video game.

What do you think is going on inside Robert Strong's helm? Is he 100% necromagic puppet, or is there still some notion that he is Gregor Clegane in there?

Even though I don't think Gregor has his own head inside his helmet anymore, I'm pretty sure he can't entirely be a "necro-magic puppet". Muscle memory, spinal memory, all that physical essence is still there. And Qyburn's necromantic theory was that some part of the soul still survives after death, so however he was able to bring Gregor back to life, I think there is indeed some part of his soul still in there too.

We'll have to see Robert Strong in action to see what that means, though. Whether it's something as clear as in one of my favorite fics (with actual Robert-Gregor POV and trigger warnings for that), or whether it's more like in my own long-delayed WIP where his "voice" could possibly only be in the viewer's mind, well, I just can't know for sure. Though I am certain that whatever it is, it will be as creepy as hell.

MEET THE MISS MAGE! Raven Williams. The Pyromage, and Necromage. Okay, to make her backstory short. She lives in the woods because society rejected witches and mages. knights came looking for her because people spread rumors because they saw her as a threat (she is NOT-). the knights give her a mentor so people stop worrying. she gets a girlfriend and boyfriend. turns out her mentor is her dad who just ditch her mom and didn't know her mom was pregnant. She gets put into a mage academy. Girlfriend gets ripped a part and eaten by harpies. Gets kidnapped by monstered and forced to become one. after- a while- she manages to break free. She gets returned to the mage academy. everyone unsurprisingly hates her, including boyfriend, who is now Ex (they make up eventually). thats the story version her backstory lmao.

Mourn Watch Rook has finished

What a delightful playthrough. I've never been into the Necromage skills in the previous games, but oh lordy they were fun in this one. As much as I loved the Void Blade, I will be hard-pressed not to go the necro route any time I play a mage from here on out.

A Death Caller build is basically a "never need potions, never die" build. Low health? Just slap an enemy with Spirit Bomb to top off and do some explosive damage. Every enemy can be Spirit Bombed. EVERY. ENEMY. Need mana? Channeled thoughts will fill you up. I'd Frost Nova the ground around me and then fill up my mana bar while my companions executed some combos. And yes, you can add passives that let you use health when mana is low, just in case you're really missing the old Blood Mage style.

I usually play on Default difficulty and after a while, it felt like Storyteller. Death Caller is definitely in the top position for class when/if I do a Nightmare run. The only problem is you're pretty squishy till getting Spirit Bomb.

As for background, Mourn Watch gets a lot of extra dialogue and flavor, which was fun. Romancing Emmrich was an utter delight. I made a certain choice regarding his life's dream, and it turned out far more romantic than I thought it would. I am tempted to just romance him again and make the other choice because he was so lovely! His personal questline was also fantastic with great environments and an amazing villain. And he could teach Lucanis a thing or two about romantic dates.

Davrin will be next, with a Warden Rook. I think I'll step outside my mage love and try rogue?
