New Life series concept (this is entirely a joke): folks start out with 5 lives and, like with Last Life, have the ability to gift other people lives. The difference is that nobody gets a big notification when they receive one, so sometimes they’ll look at their count and go “WAIT I HAVE SEVEN NOW???”

Joel gives Jimmy two whole lives near the start, because he’ll be damned if his attempt to stop his friend from going out first fails two games in a row.

He tells someone about this in passing, and accidentally starts a trend where everyone gives Jimmy a life to be nice. This isn’t planned. There’s no group knowledge of this. Most people think they’re the only person to decide to do this besides Joel.

As a result, Jimmy ends up with 17 lives by the end of the third session and can’t possibly fathom where the heck they’re coming from. (He starts gifting them back to people who need them because, frankly, he likes to play fair and he wouldn’t want to win just because everyone gave him an upper hand.)

EDIT: Y’all the entire point of this concept is that even with Jimmy giving lives back, everyone else is too set of making sure he lasts longer. The POINT is that he IS NOT OUT FIRST because Joel won’t allow it. Please stop committing murder in my tags, I beg 😭

hi Five, Merry Christmas! I'm on holiday from work and I'm going to spend the weekend rereading Disarm and Head over feet as a Christmas treat for myself. I know you've been having a tough time and I totally understand wanting to retreat from fandom when people are being shit, so I hope you're well and I hope you're having a lovely holiday.

I keep meaning to drop in and say something; I've gotten a lot of really sweet messages and I would flood timelines if I tried to respond to all of them, but I want to say thank you to all of you, truly. I'm so, so glad my silly little story made you guys happy. This verse was lovingly extracted from the ailing brain cell that Bestie and I share, and we are absolutely tickled that it struck a chord with so many people.

I work in healthcare and a lot of my co-workers have children (and I do not), so I'm taking a ton of overtime right now so they can have time off with their families. That makes it hard to stay up on fandom participation. I'm not absent because people are being assholes -- with one or two very notable exceptions, everyone has been amazing -- I'm just overworked and tired.

To answer some questions, I would love to write more for the Adore series. I've already written a few snippets for what would be a third instalment, so it's definitely not out of the question. My motivation and creative drive are very fickle things, so I can never make promises, but it's possible. I do know that I can't write and be fandom-social at the same time, so I wouldn't be around these parts much if I were to work on another story.

Things the sequel might contain: a return to Sirius' POV, more Rieka, more James, more of Sirius' backstory, a step into a slightly more defined D/s relationship for daddy and baby (some of which is new ground for Remus, too). None of these are guaranteed (nor is the existence of the fic at all), but they are elements I would like to write and/or have a very tenuous foundation for in the form of rough notes and half-written scene intros. So we'll see what the new year brings. 😊

one of my favorite things abt c!awesamdream, whether you're talking abt the awkward tension of the relationship just strictly based on how it's portrayed in canon or if you extrapolate into directions that might be more romantic and/or sexual in nature, is 1) the love that existed and still exists 2) the ways that the two characters struggle to navigate through and around admissions of that care and love and how it's been poisoned and 3) the ways that it makes literally nothing better (and oftentimes, everything worse)

thinking about the very, very tense ways c!Dream tiptoed around the idea of betrayal in Daedalus. thinking about c!Sam offering the prison as a way of keeping Dream alive in the disc vault, when he was staring down a sword about to take his final life. (thinks about c!Dream knowing that c!Sam would keep him alive and creating the plan in the disc finale around this.) thinking about isolation and intimacy, the ways that dream begged for sam's attention and was denied it, the ways that sam kept dream for himself (shutting out even quackity, in the end.) thinks about sam telling dream he would torture him, kill him, and then keeping him alive--again, and again, and again. thinks about dream finding the man that had held him and tortured him and sold him to be torn apart day after day and how he let him out of hell, thinking about his tone as he cornered sam by a broken nether portal and put a pickaxe through his eye and thinking about bye sam.

just, the love that exists in trying to remake a world for the dream of a time with friends that loved you, that you loved more than life. they had a house with the beds all pushed together in the corner and they fished for name tags on the roof. the love that exists in trying to fix something (someone) that has broken, that has gone wrong, that is not working the way it should. saving and being saved. they were the only ones in that prison for months at a time--how could they not love each other? how do you know someone that well and rely on them for everything (dream knew that sam was the one thing standing between himself and certain death. in many ways, dream was the same for sam) without loving them, the blood on their hands and between their teeth and all. there's no version of c!awesamdream that exists without the love between them and they can neither dismiss it nor acknowledge its existence and it just. sits there.

the entire prison arc happens because dream loves sam enough to trust him with his life and sam loves dream enough to never be willing to let him go like it drives me nuts

i live for different interpretations of the parts of saikis powers that havent been confirmed, but whenever i see someone misinterpret what HAS been confirmed, i go a little insane..

its hardly justified cuz people dont have to know every little thing about a piece of media to be able to enjoy it and can make whatever fan pieces they want, so dont take this too seriously im just very autistic about saiki k so my brain explodes when people get things wrong, especially when its really obvious that they either didnt finish the show or didnt pay attention cuz some things are very prominent in the series 😭

like what do you mean saiki can see ghosts by himself? what do you mean? (very cool concept as an au or future power advancement thing though, toritsuka would be pissed) OR when people say things like "why didnt saiki end world hunger or go back in time and prevent the holocaust?" or anything along those lines, like.. idk if you were paying attention tbh😭the butterfly effect and the overall downside of using his powers and the consequences that often times outweigh the benefits is like.. a MAIN theme in tdlosk..

this applies to any misinterpretations of saiki k but ive talked a lot about other things (height, saiki himself, etc) and this is one that i see probably almost just as much

- Aizawa ends up finding out that Izuku is his son after the Stain incident.

- because of his injuries Izuku needs someone to pick him up from the hospital but the foster home he's staying at never pick up and they have to resort to getting his teacher to pick the kid up.

- Aizawa has been trying to remember where he recognized Izuku's surname from since the start of school and on the car ride to UA it hits him.

- Inko Midoriya! His ex from years ago.

- so in curiosity he asks how Inko was doing to which Izuku informs him that his mother passed away and that he is in the foster system because he doesn't know his dad.

- now this puts Aizawa into a mild crisis, he does the math in his head and is all like oh shit this might legitimately be my problem child.

- Hizashi confirms that he suspected as much since the sports festival but just wasn't sure how to bring it up.

- it doesn't take much for them to agree to take in the boy and later Shinso as well. They are basically brothers.

Okay this is a little bit of a weird one but hear me out here: Do you remember that bit at the beginning of 13 where Kitty gets stuck in the 'Unworld'??? I've seen some aus where Danny's like the GZ incarnate but what if he was the Unworld incarnate instead?? I just think it'd be really cool because it's this in-between/'other' dimension and embodying that could really come with some eldritch properties. Plus when he was caught in the portal he Was kind of stuck between the GZ and the living realm so it could make sense!!

So, I headcanon that tfp Soundwave is primarily nonverbal. He can't talk in some/most circumstances, so he goes through audiosplicing, text to speech, or plain old text. This is fully respected, especially since exactly everyone who has bothered him about this has had their afts beat at breakneck speeds, no matter faction or rank or even species.

What we’ve learned so far since the show takeover (and some theories)

-Eclipse has been around for at minimum over a year before July 16th went down, so over 2 years now for coming into his own awareness and then to contrive to create another

-Lunar can be physically restricted and commanded as Bloodmon couldn’t

-Bloodmoon is the one behind July 16th and likely the one behind the footage of a child’s arm being broken, as mentioned in the interrogation

-The interrogator is the only known and confirmed murder by Eclipse, who while talking a good game and has a willingness to do so has also only resorted to violence when most useful. The exception being direct account from Lunar on a personal level

-THEY TOOK ROXANNE’S EYES TO SEE THROUGH PLACES TO BETTER FIND THE STAR  O H   N  O

-Monty is in Moon’s contacts and has a fun name so it wasn’t just a thing said in a moment of emotional vulnerability, Moon’s had that association of Monty being a friend for some time before the confiding episode in the woods.

-Golden Freddy may know of Bloodmoon in part from his ever-watching habits pertaining to those he has connections to, interests in, and for dangers he will need to confront. He knew of “a great evil” being born on July 16th, and almost certainly recognized Eclipse was NOT it when first meeting him, but said nothing for his own reasons yet to be expanded upon concretely.

-Eclipse was almost killed by Bloodmoon, had DAYS around him, and there is more time between the two not yet shown, if it ever will be

-Eclipse is possibly realizing that Lunar is not just “the dumb one” but actively fulfilling a role he’s perceived as needed and wanted by Eclipse to better be Moon’s opposite.

-Lunar is far, far better at lying with his well-established loyalty towards Eclipse and assumption of not thinking ahead covering him from suspicion when feeling out information.

-Lunar not thinking Moon’s a bad person and a decline of wanting to obliged Eclipse could be noticed by how often he’s been still when seen, even when just messing around. To only idle with his hands while otherwise remaining condensed and still, even in a small space to make it harder to move around extra, could be both fulfilling the job of “cause Moon pain” excuse and only inflicting minimal pain to give Moon some space to work with. This would also contribute to why Eclipse is so frequently having to tune Lunar, if Moon’s having greater windows to get a better shot at focusing.

-Eclipse has used gaslighting Sun and lies of omission to cover for Bloodmoon existing this whole time. To extrapolate on this:

When looking back on their first meeting on the mindscape, the mention of it being Sun’s Place and Eclipse describing himself first as “practically moon” can potentially interpreted as using that as a loophole to there not being a point to lying when there.

For SUN there’s no point in lying when facing himself, when it’s his own mind, but Eclipse is treated (rightfully so) as a hostile and unwanted resident. Not being seen as a part of Sun by Sun could contribute to that indirect lying working when in a space that gives no support or place to hide from yourself. The phrasing and behavior in the interaction there just make it rotate endlessly like a cgi potato. So much is re-contextualized now that we know full well that Eclipse WASN’T the one to kill the kids but DID facilitate and allow what DID do so, and still raises so many questions about how he takes to talking to Sun.
