If Arthur knew about Merlin’s magic I could totally see him trying to look for spellbooks to give to Merlin. Somehow he always ends up finding cookbooks or poetry books

Kamen Rider Geats: Episode 1 - Daybreak F: Inviting You To Be A Rider | ...
youtube
FIRST EPISODE OF KAMEN RIDER GEATS IS OUT ON YOUTUBE FOR FREE! FULLY SUBBED!
THE WHOLE SERIES BEING ON TOKUSHOUTSU'S WEBSITE!
This is a perfect place to get into Kamen Rider, or a good place to just start. Not a perfect series, so series is, but it is a very fun one that stands on its own perfectly well
Honestly outside of a few nitpicks, all my main issues come from my personal taste as a sci-fi fan when it comes to the use of certain tropes or the logical issues introduced in the spin offs (like the movies and the v-cinemas)
I highly recommend checking out the series if you haven't!
@the-blackbird-roleplays @pugsbone @chiefatticcreator @padthedemon @a-fantastic-time @freeusemuses @house-of-warriors @videogamer382
If you guys value my opinions on media, highly recommended! Not trying to pressure anyone, just sharing opinions!

Was Natasha a kid when she met Bucky?
It’s a widespread misconception outside of winterwidow fandom that Bucky and Natasha have known each other since she was a kid. I’ve seen a handful of people object to their relationship for this reason or (sometimes in a humorous manner) comment on how weird it is. And I'd have to agree with them. Bucky dating Natasha despite having trained her since she was a child would have been utterly inappropriate, if not immoral and disgusting. However, the assumption is not only incorrect but also fundamentally impossible.
Let’s go back to the beginning to clarify why that assumption is fundamentally impossible. Different universes equal different realities, and different realities equal different characters. Sometimes characters' counterparts across multiple realities only differ in details, not the basics. MCU characters have a similar correlation with their What If counterparts but not comics’ ones, which is a grave mistake cinematic fans make. I believe that’s why we have this absurd assumption as well, from someone thinking that 616 Black Widow and Winter Soldier are the same age as their more famous counterparts.
MCU’s Natasha Romanoff was born in 1984, and Bucky – 1917. Thus, an adult-kid dynamic is plausible. If we consider cryostasis, Bucky was still pushing 30 when Natasha was born. The situation, however, is significantly different for their 616 counterparts. Let’s start with Earth 616’s Bucky Barnes, who was born in 1925, making him nearly a decade younger than the cinematic one. But that isn’t what disproves the aforementioned belief. What disproves it is that Earth 616’s Natasha Romanoff was born around 1928, making her 56 years older than her cinematic counterpart and just 3 years younger than 616 Bucky. You will find this information on the following page from Black Widow: Deadly Origin, a 2009–2010 graphic novel (which I will be using as a basis today):
Tumblr media
This alone debunks the adult/child misconception, but I want to go one step further and discuss the timeline of Natasha's time in the Red Room and the early years of the Winter Soldier.
At the young age of 20, Bucky Barnes "died" alongside Captain America in late 1945, in last days of the war. The Russian submarine discovered Bucky's preserved body after the war while hoping to retrieve Captain America’s remains. And with that, the Winter Soldier story began, along with his role as a super soldier trainer at the Red Room for Department X.
Now, one might say, "Ana, if he was 20, Natasha was 17, which is still kind of wrong, no?". My answer is yes; it would’ve been rather inappropriate. "Would’ve been" because there’s a catch: Natasha wasn’t part of the Red Room when he joined.
I know what you’re thinking: What the fuck, wasn’t she...? Didn’t she…? So let me explain that one from the beginning.
Natasha Romanoff, then 10 years old, was brought to the Red Room in 1938 by her father figure, Ivan Petrovich (a terrible piece of shit about whom I'll write a blog), Taras Romanov, and Joseph Stalin himself. After her trainer, Wolverine, killed Taras in 1940, she let Wolverine go, fled into the woods, and was found three months later by Ivan, possibly going back under his care, which can be seen below:
Tumblr media
She returned to the Red Room only at the age of 28, ironically enough, becauseof Ivan, which is depicted on the following page:
Tumblr media
There, we find a collapsed building with a bleeding Ivan and a sobbing Natasha, who have been approached by …. *DRUM ROLL* ….  the Winter Soldier, who has been sent by his superiors. They were both offered the super soldier serum that would save Ivan in exchange for their newfound loyalty, which Natasha accepted despite Ivan's protests.
Here we are, then: Natasha, 28, meets the Winter Soldier, roughly 31, who’ll soon be her lover and her trainer. Two adult people who met when they were both adults. And with that, we conclude our blog, disproving the infamous “she was a kid when they met!” argument.
Thanks for reading my blog. If you have questions or have found a mistake, let me know. I'll be happy to answer and discuss <3

Whenever I tell people I’m a trekkie, they always ask me if I hate Star Wars. WRONG!!!
Star Wars and Star Trek are like siblings! There’s no bitter rivalry between them, they’re just inherently different franchises in the same genre.
Star Trek is the older sibling who had a passion for social sciences and eventually went into STEM. Star Wars is the theater kid prodigy that does dramatic writing as a hobby. They’re not beefing with each other, they just have a typical opposite sibling dynamic!

Ok, but listen (and welcome back to another crazy analysis that I came up with out of nowhere because I had a lot of free time)
The Ishtar as representations of the Egyptian gods.
Tumblr media
Bastet's mission was to protect the home and symbolizes the joy of living, as she is considered the deity of harmony and happiness. She is the personification of the warm rays of the Sun, she is the representation of femininity and elegance.
Marik was supposed to be the leader of the clan and protect it, but he wanted to be happy and be out of the tombs, he wanted to live, he wanted to be under the sun's rays, plus his hair is blonde, a color associated with the sun, He is handsome, he is masculine and elegant.
Plus his eyes look like cats' eyes if you ask me, with his outlined like the stripes of tabby cats.
But he was traumatized and filled with anger and wanted revenge, so he created Yami Marik.
Tumblr media
She was a symbol of strength and power. She was considered the goddess of war and revenge, but also the goddess of healing, she was the protector of the pharaohs and guided them in war.
In some cases she was considered an ally and protector of Ra, since she killed those who dared to confront or attack the divine or earthly monarchy.
She had an insatiable bloodlust, to such a degree that she did not distinguish between allies or enemies.
Like YamiMa, he is powerful, the representation of Marik's fight and revenge, he protected Marik from everything that could harm him to keep him safe, he caused death/coma to those who stood in the way of Marik's wishes (Jounouichi , Mai, Rishid, his father).
Plus we've all seen the thousands of references to YamiMa's hair to a lion's mane and both YamiMa and Sekhmet have many names.
And YamiMa only calmed down when he saw Rishid.
Tumblr media
She represented music, dance, joy, love, sexuality and maternal care, and acted as consort to various male deities and mother to their children. These two aspects of the goddess exemplified the Egyptian conception of femininity. She served as a wet nurse for the king and his court, and in this way she fed all the people of Egypt since the prosperity of the country was closely linked to the health, well-being and stability of the king.
She was part of the divine entourage that accompanied Ra as he sailed through the sky in his boat.
Rishid was a fundamental part of Marik's upbringing, he was like a father to him, replacing the biological father as a wet nurse, he wanted Marik's happiness, he loved him like a brother and took care of him like a father, he took the punishment when Marik and Ishizu came out of the tombs, and he wanted to take Marik's place in the ritual to avoid the pain and trauma it would cause him.
He was also part of the Ghouls to continue with Marik, after leaving the tombs, we can assume that he was the one who was in charge of maintaining his mental and physical health.
But his role as a father was also slightly overshadowed by Ishizu.
Tumblr media
She is typically depicted as the generous and selfless mother, wife, and protector who puts the interests and well-being of others before her own. She was considered the divine mother of the pharaoh, who was identified with the god Horus. She as well as the most powerful sorceress Egypt ever saw. With this power she managed to save her son Horus, but she also became the patron goddess of people who practiced magic.
Ishizu is the selfless mother who fulfills the role assigned to her, fulfilling her duty to the pharaoh was important and almost a priority, however when it came to her brothers, mainly Marik, she did not mind leaving her duty relegated in favor of hera brother's well-being.
Just like Isis, she sought help from humanity (Yugi and company) to unite the pieces of her brother and return him to normal.
She is feminine, selfless, protective, maternal, she took care of Marik when they were children, stopping living her own childhood so that Marik could be happy, she helped him see what it was like outside the tombs because that is what he wanted to do.
Furthermore it is quite clear that she is Isis when we remember that her past life in ancient Egypt was called that.

Also sorry to be that person but, do you have a tom hiddleston special interest like myself or hyperfixation? /nf!! ^^
oh my god yes. it went from hyperfixation to special interest only last year, despite always liking loki before i knew anything about marvel. i watched the night manager and fell in love with his acting, as well as his ability to play such dark and multidimensional characters despite being an absolute ray of sunshine. i think he is rare individual, and i say that outside of any celebrity crush or bias.
though i know it is only me who did the work on my thinking and mental health, i’ve honestly used him as a guide. i watched an interview awhile ago (at nerdhq with zachery levi, i believe) and i think the question was “how are you so positive”. he answered so simply, that during a rough patch in his early career, he got up early and watched the sunrise and reminded himself of all the good in his life. so simple, because happiness really is simple. i always think of that when i’m down, honestly.
it’s also been mentioned twice now (by hugh laurie and ke huy quan) how he just lights up a room with his energy and i always admire that. whether it’s dancing or running (cause wow that man loves running) or anything! he is just a very kind, energetic spirit!
i will not pretend that i know him personally, of course. he has no idea who i am, and i only know what i see in interviews. but i always think that he would be a very nice person to just chat with, i feel like you could just talk and talk for hours, about music! soundtracks! shakespeare! absolute nerd that he is. again, i am aware that i don’t truly know him, but i admire him GREATLY.
he is also very, very handsome.
did that answer your question, my friend? /lh /j

My Opinions on Anime and Manga in Western Countries
CW: fetishization, oversexualization, racial stereotyping, as always lmk if I’m missing anything
Everytime I tell someone I'm not an avid fan of anime or manga, the usual response is shock and confusion, paired with "how?? But you're Asian!"
What hasn't occurred to them, I assume, is that those kinds of stereotypes are part of why I'm not a huge fan
Do I hate all anime and manga? No, not at all. In fact I do have a few books and shows that I enjoy, my favorite manga of all time being Arslan Senki (go check it out, the series is criminally underrated). However, I'm very picky about which ones I read and watch, and for very good reason. To be more specific, I'm not a fan of anime and manga as it's been generally received by Western countries
For the record: if you're from the Americas and like manga and anime, this is not me dogging on you. Everyone has the right to enjoy what they do, as long as they aren't harming anyone or their integrity
Now unfortunately, in my experience I've had to deal with the not harmless enjoyers more often than not
Take the first sentence of this post as an example. People always expect me to be largely enthusiastic about East Asian-originating media, despite knowing I've spent the vast majority of my life living in the middle of the US and was raised by people who are the furthest thing from Asian. I know next to nothing about my heritage or my culture and have grown up completely in American society, but even with this knowledge I'll still be met with shocked expressions when I say I've never watched whatever show or how anime isn't my favorite thing in the world. All because I look a certain way
That stereotyping attachment of race to media is just one of the many reasons I don't like anime or manga, and it unfortunately goes deeper than that
Japan already has an issue of oversexualizing women in their media, and you can see it in the skimpy outfits, big boobs, giant eyes, petite forms, and overall simping mannerisms they have towards male characters. This is by no means found in every show or book, but it's present in most. Even Arslan Senki, my favorite manga, favors putting Farangis, a priestess, in a sexualizing outfit over living up to the rest of the story's historical authenticity. With anime and manga growing more popular in the West, the impact of how women are portrayed is reflected in how people interact more and more
I can't tell you how many times I've had to hear about how people, from first dates to classmates to random strangers have fetishized Asian women because they wanted someone to live out their weird anime fantasies with. Hell, I have some stories of my own too. I've known Asian content creators who've been left creepy comments from viewers, some of which asking for them to talk in a high-pitched whiney "anime girl" voice and say a sexualized line using Japanese honorifics in a fetishizing manner. Asian cosplayers will constantly get demands to dress up in a maid outfit or cosplay certain anime characters for them to "simp" over
Even other cosplayers aren't safe from fetishizers. Other PoC cosplayers, black cosplayers especially, are consistently put on blast for cosplaying anime characters because those characters "aren't black." If it's not an Asian cosplayer, the creeps' fetishizing fantasies can't be lived up to, so they give black cosplayers shit instead. But gods forbid they do the same to white cosplayers, since being white is always the default to them apparently. How dare anyone try to give a white cosplayer shit for cosplaying a Japanese character when all anime characters are Japanese, that's unfair to them, right? But it's okay to have a double standard because the characters look white enough, right?
There was even a Japanese boxer from a few months ago that people latched onto, because apparently any East Asian guy with messy blond hair looks like Bakugo. MHA fangirls, many of which being minors, went crazy on him, making comments that are far from appropriate for that kind of interaction and fully reimagining this completely real human being as a fictional character for their own fetishizing purposes
If we're not stereotyped, we're being sexualized. The spreading influence of fetishizing Asian people only grows with the popularity of anime and manga in countries further west. It's been used to thirst, hit on, even threaten East Asian people, women especially. Our safety and comfort has been royally screwed by anime "simps" and it only continues to worsen, even more so for Asian Americans and content creators
One of the worst things about being Asian and growing up in America is how anime was the closest thing to connecting to my culture, and what did anime tell little me about being Asian? That my skin had to be pale, my eyes wide, I had to be short and curvy, and I had to sound ultra-feminine. Those were the values that the world expected out of me. Cassandra Cain was there to be my saving grace, thankfully, but the impression anime girls have on others will never be a positive or realistic one unless Japan re-evaluates its media as a whole and non-Asian viewers can find the maturity to not implement the same things on other people

2023 has been a mad year but it has also been the year I fell in love with Hobonichi.
I have been using my A6 as purely a memory keeping log or diary which I have been totally loving. The only thing is - this notebook is an April start and I did get a cousin to start in January - so I’m not sure how I’m going to use the January to March pages in the A6 but I’m sure I’ll think of something. Doing nothing and leaving the pages blank is not an option for me lol if there’s a space it MUST be filled. I’ll hopefully update you more about this in 2024.
I have also been obsessed with watching people’s videos on YouTube of flip throughs or talking about their Hobonichis. I think it’s because:
1. I’m living vicariously through people as I haven’t been able to work in my cousin properly yet .
2. I’m just a wee bit nosey.
I am so beyond excited to work out properly how I’m going to use my cousin going forward and I’m hoping to take you along with me so if you love journalling then PLEASE talk to me about it. Also please let me see your Hobonichis I can’t get enough honestly.
Hope you’ve had a great day x
