hello... 😅 uhm, first of all, i truly am sorry in advance for being awkward 😭 but for once i decided not to let my awkwardness keep me from sharing (what i think/hope are) positive thoughts with a stranger on the internet, so here i am.

i'm not around much and legit only made this acc bc like you i'm a late bloomer here and needed as many outlets for my yizhan/wangxian obsession as i could get my greedy hands on, in the big year of 2023... sigh. anyway, as an avid lover of meta/analysis posts since my early fandom days began around 15 (oof 🥲) years ago, finding your acc was such a lovely surprise. i agree with your views a LOT, and really appreciate how eloquent and well-written your posts are! even more so bc there's a lot i still don't know and most of the time the source material is very hard to reach and/or understand due to the language barrier, so having other turtles to rely on to access those, even if filtered by their own biases/opinions, is wonderful. besides, such input coming from a new fan is also comforting and imo refreshing, juxtaposed with that of older fans... it keeps the fandom alive and all that jazz. it's also very brave given how ruthless some folks can be on the internet, and on this corner in particular 😮‍💨 it just felt like reading my own thoughts written by someone else sometimes. i gasped and nodded at your posts soooo many times djskdjdj thank you for that!

(btw you followed me back the other day and i legit fangirled irl bc ??? whatttttt 😅 i still think it was an accident but okay omg djskdjdj AHEM. sorry)

then today i logged in and read your recent posts feeling squeamish about sharing more thoughts and as much as i 100% relate to you saying that kind of attention makes you anxious, i just... idk, i had to let you know i enjoy everything you post, even though adult life has kept me from being able to read it all so far. i understand you stepping back and i respect that decision, i'm not by any means asking you to go against what you know is best for you. at the same time, i can't help but hope you'll still show up every now and then bc your posts will be missed 🥲 i guess the whole motivation behind this is that it just made me sad to think your valuable insights will be something i'm yet again late to, if that makes sense?

Thank you for dropping into my inbox! I love hearing from other turtles, especially relative newbies, like myself! One of my fav parts of coming out of lurking mode is getting to talk to other people. I kinda follow back anybody who follows me, cause it seems polite? I don't know tumblr etiquette. I just follow the tags when I get the chance.

I appreciate the encouragement! I try to avoid dramatics, so I'm sorry for the upset last week. The situation is largely resolved, and I am feeling more okay. I kinda backed off because I wasn't sure of my footing here in fandom as compared to others, especially as I do think I have some takes that fall outside fandom consensus. Again, I don't mean to rock any boats and I'm not invested in convincing anybody that they should have the same opinions as I do. Hearing from turtles who do want me to continue posting gave me some more confidence there.

So, yeah, I expect I'll post some more as I have time. I'd like to post more on dd (cause he's my fav). I'd also like to try to figure out gg cause that dude is so confusing to me. I do have RL stuff going on, and I don't have the time to be super-active outside of occasional posts. But I'd like keep posting stuff. At least until I get all my Yizhan thoughts out.

All about LRLG post 11/28/2022. ✨

You all know the drill, I cannot post the complete translation because i’m not authorized. I will share bits that are interesting and may have connections to what we already speculated before. I can only imagine a LRLG newbie or even if you’ve been reading their contributions for a long time, it’s always confusing. it’s bits and piece of conversations. We can only guess when things took place.

so just have fun with it, no need to take it seriously. there may be different interpretations, there is not wrong or right answer. ☺️

• It starts off with random sentences from WYB, again, like we are hearing him talking to someone on the phone with 0 context. It’s like you entered the room, saw WYB and you overheard these words.

"The ones that were left out on purpose are not real people, and they are generally reserved for moving.”

"I know, I even jumped off your little skirt, right?"

"Okay, okay, whatever you say it is"

"You're not a backup dancer, are you?"

"Then tell me after you finish reading"

"It's different, I remember you are guests"

WYB was probably watching an old performance of GG when he and xnine were guests in a show. Lol at Web saying it’s a skirt! It’s not! He just tied it on his waist. It’s so nice to think about Web watching idol XZ, I guess we are not the only ones who loved that era and wish to see him perform again. This show was back in 2017, hahahaha! They are truly each other’s fans. Even if they often act embarrassed about their old works, it’s so obvious that these two enjoy watching each other’s shows/appearances.

there is also something so domestic about this. just talking on the phone about mundane things but it’s important cause it connects them.

• Then some talk about a vlog. I really hope WYB does some sort of vlog. Whatever he is comfortable to share. like the practice video that was posted by YBO. I know he’s not a fan of sharing too much private things and I wouldn’t want him to do something he doesn’t — but i can only hope. maybe. one day.

Staff: "This is the amount that needs to be issued by then"

Staff: "Just record vlog, and you can also record regularly in the future"

• Then talking about a Suona which is a traditional Chinese double-reed woodwind instrument. I wonder why XZ is using it. Probably for a role? Or maybe he’s being his talented self again and is picking it up for additional skill.

X: Suona is very good, unique and innovative

W: "It's difficult”

X: "Easy- what do you want"

X: "OK OK”

• HAHAHAHAHA this short exchange is my favorite. Even after all these years, XZ still remains to be the only one who wants WYB to shut up cause he talks too much.

X: you shut up

W: what's wrong with me

X: Have a meal ( eat )

• Another scenario of the young couple playing games. WYB is so cute saying “you’ve changed” to XZ. He’s really different around him. Usually when you put him in a situation where he has to be competitive, he’s no nonsense and will beat whoever the opponent is. but when he is with XZ, he will act cute. Winning is not important. It’s all about playing and spending time with his zhan ge.

W: "How about it"

X: "I'm not good at it, what can I say"

W: "You have to give it after you see it"

X: "advanced"

W: "You don't even look at it, you don't see me here

X: "I said advanced jumping"

W: "you've changed"

• Awwww. short legs? Who could it be other than princess jianguo! 🌰 Their little family is so sweet. I bet WYB is still spoiling her with the horrible costumes he buys. I remember when XZ shared photos of her, leftovers. Lol. He probably asked WYB what are the best ones to share.

The second half of the convo is so funny tho. WYB why are you jealous of a cat? LOL. He’s like, I can still remember you even if we don’t see each other for a while. HAHAHAHAHA! He is too much! and I feel sad for GG cause 🌰 can’t recognize him anymore.

• This exchange remind me of the green tea. They really have no issue with sharing each other’s drinks. What’s mine is yours.

X: wyb what are you drinking

W: Didn't you bring it?

X: Um

W: Then I'll drink yours

X: it is good

• THIS HAD ME DYING. Yibo calls XZ xiao xiao (allegedly). This is so sweet.

W: "Yeah, let's leave after chatting, xx has to catch a plane"

The interesting part here is it was typed out as XX to represent his name. We think this is the time when he was photographed leaving Beijing with that Tod’s bag that had XX on it. I already made a CPN post about it but now i realize i might be wrong. It is still his name, it’s xiao xiao. Only that it’s what Yibo calls him. I cannot. ‼️‼️‼️ Imagine him saying that while coaxing XZ and with his puppy eyes. Imagine.

• One of the interesting exchanges we often see in LRLG recently is when zz/wyb talk with their staff. We already CPN that their staff know each other and work together from time to time. But this is on a whole new level. I like the fact that they are cool bosses and care for their staff’s lives too.

gossip-ing

X: "You young people are now climbing mountains instead of falling in love."

Staff “I didn't climb to the top, the environment doesn't allow it"

W: "Well, stay at home"

X: "Exercise is good, it's not that XXX has a glass walkway, you can do it next time to see”

Staff: "It can make her pee"

Staff: "I'm drinking here, you say pee"

Staff: “😂 You are there to match up"

Staff: "Stop, stop, I just met once, I'll go through my own level first and then talk about it"

X: "It's not like there's going to be that suspension-bridge effect transfer

Staff: "Mr. Xiao is awesome, you are a little expert in love"

W: It's possible (then imitates the sound of a goose)

X: 👊Why do you owe so much?

W:(makes the same sound again ; like stuttering)

Staff: What?

X: "Don't worry about him, if you have time, you can do team building and go out for a walk"

W: "Fuck, the place we talked about last year is almost over this year, and we didn't go back to the team building"

X: "Each group has its own"

W: "They mess with them, we mess with ours"

Staff: “It’s hard to get out now”

Staff: "Well, if you can't change the place, you won't pick

W: whispered "our group"

The suspense bridge effect thing XZ is talking about is the idea that to make the one you love find it easier to fall in love with you — is in the situation that you two share the experience of feeling anxieties and fears. I honestly don’t know about this hahahaha! Xiao laoshi truly is a love expert.

Then WYB seemingly remembers something, probably a moment when XZ was feeling nervous. BXGs think it’s this interview, when he was stuttering talking about the person he loves. We already speculate that it’s about WYB and it made him doubly nervous because the person he is talking about is right infront of him. Also, these two have gone through life changing events together and more, so their love will only get stronger.

The talk about the team building is too cute! They want a separate one for XZS and YBO. Then you have WYB whispering that he wants just one for the two of them. A team building for this stinky couple! I give up! They are too much. 🙃

• One long exchange again.

Staff: "When will Teacher Xiao leave?

X: "In a few days"

Staff: "Be careful"

X: "What's the problem?"

X: "You watch your broken video again..."

W: "You don't take me with you.”

X: "You stay there by yourself, we don't take you, you're so funny”

W: "I'm showing you the takeout" 🥺

Staff: laughs

W: "He doesn't have a fruit bowl at home, I'll order you a takeout"

X: "Says it like I have no conscience"

W: "When you come up, you will be strange"

X: "I'm strange? They're all chatting, you still won't let me hold a mobile phone

W: "There is no outsider"

X: Well, you're an outsider now

W: 👊

I used strange but actually what it means is guài qì - weird or having weird temperament. I can only imagine being one of their staff and seeing these two as an example of what a couple should be like. The standard is too high!

• Finally, another round of WYB just talking. His humor. Lol. They can really talk about anything and laugh about it! It doesn’t matter what it is, he will share every bit to XZ.

"I'll give you a big red envelope for your birthday". "Serious Money"

"I'll tell you something funny"

" (xxx) went to the pharmacy to buy medicine and bought a bunch of toilet paper”

"I just found out that you can also buy laundry detergent"

The last part of LRLG’s message is really comforting as it says 快乐平安 - Happy and Peaceful. 🕊 There’s been some quiet in the fandom lately and as with my previous post— unrest in their Country. A lot of things are up in the air and we don’t know what is gonna happen, so this message brings me comfort. I really hope they remain this way and if ever there are problems they have each other and the close group of trusted people around them. 🤍

I'm sorry for being late with this one, but here it is. And like the last ones, I'll stick with Guilty Gear.

common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing

Hoo boy, if it isn't dudebros complaining about Bridget, it's them throwing a hissy fit at Strive and newbie fans of Guilty Gear.

They'll are just way too annoying and bitchy about Strive and bully any newcomers (or "tourists") for anything, whether for not being knowledgeable about the lore or being a fan of certain characters (especially Bridget)

These guys need to STFU.

Who cares if no one knows everything about the lore?

Who cares if they aren't good at the game?

Who cares if their first introduction to GG is Strive?

Who cars if they got into the game because of a certain character, Bridget or not?

Who cares if they don't play the game but enjoy GG for the story, lore and characters?

In the end, no one is born knowing everything about Guilty Gear, and we shouldn't gatekeep anyone for not enjoying the game the way you want. It's supposed to be a fun experience, not a competition on whose the most GamerTM on Guilty Gear.

And honestly, I doubt the dudebros don't care about the lore and just wanna use it as an excuse to be bullies

(And for the record regarding Strive. I'm not dissing ones that have actual criticisms regarding Strive. I know some have legit criticisms with it. I'm talking about ones that aren't her for being critical and just wanna be annoying, toxic a-holes)

Ok so here's the thing. I don't particularly like when I see/hear that a simmer has gone and taken a free mesh from EA, retextured it, PAY-FUCKING-WALLED it cause they really did some shit. GG. You get a trophy. I'm Peppermint Petty who lives on Petty Lane in Pettysville so I don't ever hope or wish for harm to others. But stop for a moment and think about what you did. Are you going to lose subscribers? Maybe. Are people going to unfollow you on your socials? Also a possibility. Will there be a lot of talk and nothing is done? Also sadly, a very real possibility if no one takes this seriously.

There is always this big shit drama about those who patiently wait for CC to drop vs those who sail the seven seas. Then you have those that simp, not sim but SIMP, for the perma-paywall stuff. Is it worth it? Only if the creator can rig the mesh right. I can't. So I don't (create or simp. Simping is eww.). I have a very close friend who can mesh in her sleep & it's detailed like a blender render but low poly. I would marry her but her hubby won't go for that.

This is LITERALLY the perfect time for those in the USA as we approach our long holiday weekend. Let me set aside the colonizer speech & the mass marketing frenzy that is Black Friday. (take a few moments to pause here, I did when writing this) It's kinda funny to me the parallels between that & CC creators who PW and hype up something that will happen A wHoLe AsS mOnTh FrOm ToDaY!!!!1!!1!!!1111111 Sounds like Black Friday advertising to me. huh Guess that makes this parallel even better. Saturday is SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY. I challenge you to search #ts4freecc & reblog tha beejeezusss out of the creators AND STORYTELLERS who do NOT get the love they deserve. FIND NEW CREATORS to follow!!!!! LIFT UP the community we love. Don't make me get Mariah over here to start her sanging, she's fully thawed out.

Also I must state, I am still a newbie, I got this thought after rolling thru my BFF frannnnss stories @cinamun & I was on like Nov 16?? HAD I CONTINUED FIVE POSTS. I would have seen this one by @tau1tvec I 10000% did not mean to take an idea. I'm just pissed for the ones who do good work and never get any recognition.

Hello, Guilty Gear parent figure! Finally played older games, namely Isuka XX and BOY it's so... Weird on mechanics side because I'm so used to newer ones that are less arcaidy and more newbie friendly, but they're SO fun and have so much content (esp Isuka, I CAN'T get over the option to make your own color pallets and make your own Robo Ky and even named it). And the portraits, the Daisuke art! AHHH it's so good! And the man himself voicind Sol sounds so... Endearing?? Can't wait to get ancient core for lore and and.... Order Sol coughs coughs.

Aaaanyway sorry for dropping it into your asks, just really wanted to share emotions with somebody! And would be cool to know your opinion of older games as preservationist and what's your preference, are older games better or nah and all that!

Yeah! Isuka's got so many interesting/unique features, it's really a shame that none of them came back in a major way... The beat 'em up minigame in particular is one that I wish they'd had more time to polish and put into future games. There's Judgment but it's not quite the same. Isuka's art is AMAZING too. Like, why did that game's art go so hard?? This Sol illustration is of my all time favorites and it's from that game. I think Hiroaki did it but I've never found it with a credit in any of the books:

Daisuke voices Sol in almost all of the games!! He didn't for Overture, Xrd, or Strive but there's an option to use his voice in pretty much all the others. I really like Jouji ("George") Nakata's Sol though, he did a great job voicing him. Hope you enjoy GGXX once you're able to get it!! Order Sol is REALLY fun.

Each GG game is so different, it's hard to say if one is truly "better" than the others... +R is probably my #1 favorite because it's got Order Sol and I enjoy the survival mode, but Strive was my introduction to the series, Xrd has some of my favorite designs (and soundtrack), Overture's so bad it's good (love the lore it gave us too), Missing Link is endearing...

Though I don't care for GGX itself too much, I think that game is probably one of the most important out of all of Guilty Gear. It gave us some of Daisuke's most iconic art, two novels, established the beginning of much of the major canon, and had a lot of spinoff media like the manga and a ton of figures/merch. GGX was the only game to have actual published art books (as opposed to special edition game bonuses) that collected Daisuke's illustrations from that period: Artworks of GGX 2000-2004 and then the updated Artworks of GGX 2000-2007 that included some work from the early part of GGXX. There was an art book for Overture too, but it was almost entirely rough concept sketches (that I don't think were by Daisuke) and not as much illustrative work.

It'll be interesting to see where Strive ends up going. As fondly as everyone looks back on Xrd now, it didn't give us nearly as much media to collect/archive as past games did. Strive is the best selling Guilty Gear by far. I've got my fingers crossed that it'll give us more printed materials like another art book some day.

This was my first Splatfest and I have some thoughts

First things first ggs to teams solo (I was family) more under the cut

Only had 5 mirrors and 2 disconnects from others

I’m not a fan of tri-color as a defender. I was literally kept at spawn (why is this mode only for 24 hours it should be the whole thing)

3 teams allows for easier sweeps

Solo was most likely going to win because introverts exist (hello)

Insert color joke here (please no more white)

Please let Frye get a W please

I hope there isn’t one about Valentine’s Day/ white day

Please give me Marina and her girlfriend

Please don’t put me with fellow newbies and then put me against those who already put hours into the game

Also they put glitter in the paint and need to do stuff like that more often

Overall this splatfest was fun and I hope the never do deep cut vs squid sisters vs off the hook. (The amount of toxicity

holy shit.

(FNAF MOVIE SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT)

THAT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD HOLY SHIIIIIIIT

This isn't going to be coherent this is going to be me shouting excitedly into the void for a while

As an average movie: 7/10. Good film, solid, good characters and stuff, very well done.

As a FNaF movie: 10/10 this is everything I could have hoped for a more.

The characters. The setting. The designs. The deaths. But ESPECIALLY the animatronics. HOLY SHIT that was EASILY the best part was how they were handled.

I'm talking about the puppet effects, yeah, ofc, but I'm also talking about their characters and motivations. They don't just kill indiscriminately- they only target bad guys. That, and whoever William asks them to kill because Willy's their friend :)

So we just get so many scenes of the animatronics like, existing?? Having fun, chilling, being themselves, we get to see Freddy sing several times, he gives Abbey a hug, they interact with each other in robotic but oh, so humanly too! I didn't know I needed a scene of the animatronics laying with the human characters on the floor under a blanket tent until I had it, and I will never recover.

They were just kids. Of course they're not murder machines.

The scenes where they do kill, though... holy shit. Like, it's not gonna be super gorey or anything, but the shit they did do was SO well done. Not counting the last one (because duh), my favorite kill in the movie had to be the closet. The sound design leaves everything up to the imagination and hooooo boy.

William was fucking awesome, I loved every scene he was in.

Mike's character, and his whole thing about memories and dreams was really interesting, too. Cuz it's at least partly true! Every face we see in dreams, we've seen somewhere in real life. Our brains didn't just come up with them, which adds to that idea that you COULD go back and find something you hadn't.

And that reveal with the kids? Damn.

I'm pleasently surprised that they unveiled the spirits so early. Like, they didn't tell us ofc, but we saw them within the first, like 10 minutes. And as a FNaF fan I knew exactly what was going on, but for a newbie I bet that must have been intriguing. Like, who are these kids? Why do they look and act like that? And then it's revealed that those are the animatronics and it makes PERFECT sense.

I need to rewatch this one again. Just- man. GG Scott.

Also the running gag with Balloon Boy was great fgdhsakj
