New characters/character for my AU, Nick and Jet Jaguar.

Story is below

I wanted to add a character who would literally fight for the Titans and decided to turn two into one! I also redesigned Jet Jaguar to fit in better with the monster verse and the story of the character/armor. I hope y’all like his story below.

Nicks story:

Niko Tatopoulos or Nick as his friends call him starts off with the same team as he did in Godzilla the Series, code name “HEAT”. HEAT team is a separate Titan studying branch from Monarch with the intention of protecting and learning about the Titans.

A few years before the events of San Francisco in Godzilla 2014 there was another Cavern that was discovered besides the one containing Dagon’s remains and the Mutos. HEAT investigated this second cavern and came across the egg of Zilla Jr. along with the bones of two parent Zillas. When Zilla Jr. hatched he instantly imprinted on Nick just like in Godzilla the series and the two formed a bond. HEAT studied Zilla collecting information and data that they shared with Monarch in order to better learn the Titans.

Shortly after Godzilla 2014 Zilla Jr. disappeared without any trace, leaving HEAT very confused. In the years between this and KOTM Nick married Audrey Timmonds and they had a kid with another one on the way. Sadly a few months before the events of KOTM Nick and his family were at HEAT headquarters when Alan Jonah’s team raided the head quarters, leaving Nick badly wounded and his whole family dead along with valuable intel stolen.

Nick was mentally torn apart for many months and did not come back until the events of 2019/KOTM. After witnessing Mothras sacrifice it became clear to Nick that the Titans possessed more than just simple emotions and behaviors but, actually had the ability to think and make such decisions. Nick turned his focus towards proving this theory making it the only thing that could take his mind off of what happened only months before.

Nick had a obsession with his work and the Titans that grew to the point that his team became worried. Nick sold his home and now lives at HEAT headquarters where he works night and day and rarely sleeps. He began to develop this idea that the Titans and humanity needed to be protected from itself. When he was not working Nick exercised channeling his emotional trauma into the burning pain of his muscles as he pushed, pulled, lifted, and worked until exhaustion. Nicks team tried to approach him about this but, he refused their help saying there were more important matters than his own.

When the events of Godzilla versus Kong happened revealing Apex’s creation of MechaGodzilla, Nick started a new project which he named Jet Jaguar. Using alien tech from a Leviathan ship that crashed around the time Ghidora came to Earth, Nick was able to grow and shrink objects. Using this tech when he returned to the Cavern where the bones Zilla Jr.’s parents remained, he shrank down the front two largest dorsals of each. He then shrank the Gojira Dorsal off of the ax that Kong used in GvK and constructed a shield and a ax of his own.

With Zilla Dorsals being similar in composition to Gojira Dorsals, Nick could charge this ax just like Kong’s using it as a weapon that can cut right through metal or any enemy he may face. With the Gojira Dorsal shield Nick could now protect himself from weapons as strong as Godzillas Atomic breath, and collect the energy to use later to power his armor or his ax.

Nick then crafted the Armor out of a Titanium alloy allowing it to be lighter and more durable than something such as steel. The armor would possess the ability to grow and shrink, however trying to grow a living life form was a whole other set of issues. Nick had to do many tests in order to make it safe for him to grow and shrink, and with this came limits. Nick found that each size possesses different problems and his current range was very limited. At the current moment he can only grow a bit larger than a Juvenile ScullCrawler.

With the Jet Jaguar armor Nick has a goal, to destroy any threat to the Titans whether it be another organization like APEX, or the worlds militaries. Jet Jaguar would be there to defend the Titans. With the abilities this armor possesses Nick can now more easily study Godzilla, Mothra, and the other Titans collecting valuable data for HEAT team to show the government and collect funding.

When Nick started building the Jet Jaguar armor the rest of the HEAT team became very nervous. However when Nick started bringing promising results with Jet Jaguar, the team decided to continue supporting him and help him out. One of the members Randy, suggested that Jet Jaguar should be some sort of super hero, however Nick quickly shot this idea down saying that Jet Jaguars purpose is not fame, but solely to protect and study the Titans Nick did however allow Randy to design Jets paint job leaving it white with red, gold, and black.

Nick continued to tweak and fix the Jet Jaguar armor to be more mobile and fly. While working on the armor one day Mendel alerted Nick that HEAT team picked up Godzilla on the move, heading straight towards the hollow earth facility in Antartica. With this news Jet Jaguar was quickly in the air in pursuit of Godzilla and whatever it is that draws him so suddenly to this location. Until then, the most he can do is follow.

Godzilla, 1998

Okay, I couldn’t wait any longer to get this out of my system. Are you ready?

In the Studio

Henry G. Saperstein was granted permission by Toho Studios to present an idea to Hollywood studios for a Godzilla movie. He met with producers Cary Woods and Robert Fried about producing a new Godzilla film. They liked the idea and proceeded to present the idea to a few major studios and were rejected, even be TriStar at first, but final effort proved successful.

A TriStar rep went to Tokyo to oversee and obtain rights to Godzilla, and when negations came to a close, Toho provided specific rules the studio must abide to be requiring specific physical requirements of their version of Godzilla. TriStar would later announce in 1992 they acquired rights from Toho for Godzilla and they would make a trilogy of Godzilla movies, and they promised Toho they would remain true to the original series of movies. This meant they would use caution when referencing nuclear weapons and runaway technology.

Expectation from Godzilla fans was high, and the studio promised they wouldn’t be disappointed. Toho Studios Godzilla filmmakers gave TriStar support and looked forward to one day having a friendly competition to see who would make better movies.

Production Phase

Jan de Bont would be given the job to create Godzilla and have the movie completed for release in the summer of 1994. His concept for the monster was to not have him atomic like the original but design him to be a creature from Atlantis that would defend the earth from a monster called “The Gryphon.” Stan Winston designed the monsters for de Bont and his Godzilla was true to Godzilla’s features.

Jan de Bont presented his storyline to TriStar, they approved it, however, they didn’t approve the budget he requested to make the movie. Since an agreement couldn’t be made, de Bont quit.

Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio wrote the original script and revised it after de Bont can aboard as director. After he left, they rewrote the script and finished it in 1995. TriStar, however, hired Don Macpherson to rewrite the entire Elliot and Rossio script. Macpherson was a big Godzilla fan and felt the original script lacked depiction of what Godzilla was.

Roland Emmerich was approached to direct Godzilla and Dean Devlin as the producer. They would agree to do the job if they had control in making the movie as they saw fit.

The original script was tossed and Emmerich started from scratch and designed Godzilla to his vision because the original Godzilla didn’t make any sense. Emmerich and Devlin wrote the script in five weeks and changed a lot of features, or power, this Godzilla would have - everything would be practical and real, unlike the original monster.

And so, what TriStar delivered, well… yep.

The Story

In French Polynesia, an iguana nest becomes exposed after a nuclear fallout. Meanwhile in the South Pacific Ocean, a Japanese ship is attacked by a large creature and only one person survived, to which he repeatedly chants “Gojira.”

A Dr. Niko Tatopoulos is in Russia researching radiation effects of wildlife at Chernobyl when he’s approached by officials from the U.S. State Department to aid in identifying shipwrecks in Jamaica and Panama. There, Niko, or Nick, finds skin samples of an unknown creature.

A giant creature appears in New York City. The military doesn’t destroy it, but they wounded it. Nick collects blood samples from the creature and discovers it produces asexually and is collecting food for its offspring.

Nick’s ex-girlfriend, Audrey, betrays him when she steals a top secret video tape from his tent at the army mobile HQ. She wants to use it to launch her media career, but the tape was stolen by her boss and he lies, claiming he, himself, obtained the video. Nick is removed from research team.

A Frenchman, Phillippe Roache, and his team are agents from the French Secret Service assigned to monitor the movement of the monster. Their mission is to cover up France’s responsibility of creating Godzilla, a giant iguana, from their nuclear testing. The agents believe Godzilla hid a nest somewhere in the city and they need Nick’s help to find it and destroy it.

Godzilla reappears and is attacked by a submarine. It fires a torpedo and when Godzilla disappears underwater, the U.S. forces believes the monster is dead.

Nick and the Frenchmen find the best in Madison Square Garden. Audrey and her cameraman, Victor, follow them inside and in the arena find a pile of eggs. After a few minutes, the eggs hatch and mini giant Godzilla babies are emerging. They chase the team and all the Frenchmen are killed except Phillippe. Only four are left: Nick, Phillippe, Audrey, and Victor. They lock themselves in the broadcast booth and from there, Audrey transmits a live report with the nest below. This prompts the Air Force to launch an air raid to destroy the eggs and hatchlings.

After the raid, Godzilla emerges from the downed building and goes crazy with rage. It chases Nick and the team throughout the city. Nick lures Godzilla onto the Brooklyn Bridge, the Air Force kills it. Nick and Audrey make up, Phillippe gives thanks and quietly leaves. Meanwhile, a single egg survives and a baby Godzilla emerges with a tiny roar. The end.

Audience Reception

True fans disliked the movie very much. The idea of a giant lizard rampaging between tall buildings was ridiculous. It didn’t have special powers, just… hot breath? Fellow film critics had nothing nice to say and Toho Studio execs even went as far as dubbing this as the Hollywood Godzilla which struck a nerve for Emmerich. He defended himself by saying he was never a Godzilla fan because the concept of a giant creature with atomic powers was far fetched. He only agreed to make the movie because of what he was offered and for that amount of money, he couldn’t say no. Emmerich blamed having a deadline contributed to the lack of success.

Financially, the movie profited. However, this Godzilla movie was a box office flop.

Final Word

This movie was awful. Period.

Zilla Junior

A lot of people think that but i don't get it, it's such a good movie!! I'll admit that my opinion might be skewed because it's the only godzilla movie i've ever watched but i loved it so much!

My favorite part was when the eggs start hatching & the "baby godzillas" start eating people. Like, the scene where they take the elevator and when the doors open they've accidentally ended up in a floor full of godzillas? The scene where they throw all the bouncy balls on the floor and the godzillas start slipping? It was funny & scary and that's all i care about honestly.

Also Nick Tatopoulos was so cute :D

So, I was hit with a round of childhood nostalgia, and decided to watch Godzilla the series. So, me being me, figured why not get back into it. And of course, the first thing I did for art was make a hybrid au. Why? I have no idea lol. 

So, Spoilers for those that haven’t watched the series. The basis of this is pretty much, that Nick Tatopolous has had the most contact with both ‘Zillas, who (at least the first one) was radioactive. So who is to say he wasn’t effected. Add in some interference from the tachyons, and... well, yeah. Que other groups trying to kidnap him, to the annoyance of HEAT and Zilla. 

Might make a story out of this, I don’t know.

Godzilla: Crossroads AU

it’s bright sunny day in the Alaskan wilderness, it’s warm, the ice is melting and the ground is cracking. It wouldn’t seem like it, but today is the day that fates are sealed and lives are changed.

Simon “Jet” Jaeger had been in the Army for about 6 years, and for 4 of those he wasn’t on active duty. He never liked the military, but he was a military brat, it was practically inevitable. Simon tolerated it because it allowed him to fly, he was one of the best, he was even allowed to fly solo when numbers were important. His callsign, “Jet Jaguar” was given to him at boot camp, when he mispronounced his own last name in front of everyone. At first he disliked it, a reminder of his lack of fine motor control, but then he began to like it. He liked it so much, he made a logo for his helmet, of a Jaguar with jet’s on it’s hips. this was his fifth mission where a Titan or Kaiju was involved. but on his way to the deck, he was stopped by an African American man, somewhere in his twenties, wearing a blue jacket, and talking in what Simon believed to be a Hispanic accent.

“Hey Man, why you doin this?” The man asked 

“Because it’s my job?” Simon didn’t know how to answer the question, now that he thought about it, he really didn’t know what was going on.

“So it’s your job to hunt innocent giant lizards?!” The Man kept asking

“Innocent? I heard it attacked a cruise ship. also, who are you?”

“Randy, And the Lizard didn’t attack the ship, a turtle did!” Randy proclaimed, Simon was only told of a Lizard, a giant Komodo-Dragon-looking kaiju.

“Alright, I’ll keep an eye out for your turtle, but the Lizard is my mission.” Simon said plopping on his helmet and getting in his helicopter.

Sure enough, when Simon reached the hot zone, there was a Giant turtle(Later named Snapshell) fighting the Infamous Zilla Jr. and the Giant Lizard(dubbed by HEAT as Komodithrax). Randy was right, which meant something was up, Simon switched his comm to his commanders frequency to ask what the hell, but what he heard enraged him.

“-thrax is innocent, it’s the turtle you’re after!” A man that Simon hadn’t heard before said

“The Turtle? We don’t care about the cruise ship, we here for a weapon” His Lieutenant said, Simon became more confused, he didn’t see a weapon, and he wouldn’t be told to open fire if nukes were here, something smells, and it ain’t his boots.

“What weapon? there are no weapons!” The other man said

“That’s where you’re wrong Dr. Tatopoulos! That egg is the greatest potential weapon, once we modify it’s contents.” The Lieutenant said, locking onto the HEAT Copter, which Dr. Tatopoulos and his team was in. The Lieutenant fired, but Simon fired too, on a direct course with the Lt’s missiles. The Missiles collided, saving the HEAT team, but damaging the rotor’s of the heat copter. HEAT retreated, as the Lt spotted Komodithrax.

“I won’t let you do that Lieutenant!” Simon said flying in front of the other copter.

“If you don’t move I will shot you and then the mother, either way, I reestablish American superiority” The Lt shouted “Now move Sergeant!”

“You want me to Move? Fine! I’ll move!” Simon spun his copter around, hitting the Lt’s copter with his rotor, knock the Lt off course and grounding Simon.

The Kaiju’s battle had caused a crack in the ground to grow to the size of a canyon. Simon was able to land on side not full of gnashing maws and slashing claws. But he was still trapped in his cockpit, and a fire had started behind him. Simon had to think fast, he looked around frantically, eject was locked, and emergency hatch was crushed. Suddenly he noticed one of the brace pipes was broken on one side and torn on the other, with some prying he tore it off and smashed the windows and climbed out. Only to see Komodithrax and Snapshell take a dive off the cliff, with the egg on a minute behind, Simon ran to the midsection of the copter and unlocked the winch holding the ropes soldiers use to get to ground and ran. while running he hooked the clip at the end of the rope into his harness. The egg tumbled of the cliff and Simon jumped after it, he could hear the rope run against the sand and rock. He grabbed onto the egg and held it close, bracing it and himself for the sudden jerk to come.

Simon hung there for twenty minutes, and under him in the darkness, he could barley make out something moving. Simon tried wrap his legs around the egg so he could grab his flashlight. He accidently grabbed a flare and then dropped it. The glowing red light illuminated the bottom, he could see Komodithrax writhing in pain on top of a (Hopefully) dead Snapshell. She stopped writhing and looked at him, before growling and falling asleep. Simon would like to think that was a Thank You, but he wasn’t sure. Then he felt his rope tug and then rise, Someone was pulling him out! When he reached the top, he was met by Randy, a rotund man with a beard and ponytail, as well as a yellow robot that was actually pulling him up. Randy extended his hand, until he saw the egg in which, he and a woman in a jacket, picked it up instead. Simon was helped up by a man in a red jacket.

“That was some fancy flying” The man said

“Thanks. Dr. Tatopoulos, I presume?” Simon said extending his hand “Simon Jaeger, but you can call me Jet”

“Alright Jet. You’ve met Randy” Dr. Tatopoulos said, as Randy waved. “This is Mendel Craven” The rotund man nodded “Elsie Chapman” a redheaded woman with a green long sleeve shirt smiled “and Monique Dupre”

“Bonjour.” Monique said, “Nice to meet another honorable member of the armed forces” Monique extended her hand.

“Likewise” Simon said clasping it and nodding, this was nothing romantic just a sign of respect between warriors.

Another army helicopter landed nearby and The Lt and a older man wearing a flight suit exited.

Simon immediately stood at attention and saluted “Major Hicks.”

“At ease soldier.” Major Hicks said and then frowned “Technical Sergeant Simon Jaeger.”

“Yes Sir?” Simon was worried. During the last hour, he had just fired on military aircraft, disobey direct orders, and fired on a superior officer.

��Son, do you know what you have done today” Major Hicks asked, and Simon braced for a chewing out. “You have trusted your gut and shut down an unsanctioned mission, that would have cost hundreds of lives down the line.” Simon Beamed “However, you also destroyed hundreds of dollars worth of military aircraft”

“Not to mention fired on superior officer and disobeyed my orders!” the Lt chimed in.

“Shut it!” Major whirled towards the Lt “You are in deeper s#!+ than he is.” Major Hicks realigned himself “Ahem, as I was saying. you are to be honorably discharged at 800 hours, you will be allowed to keep your rank and your collage bills paid off. However you may never serve in the armed forces again, is this understood, Tech Sargent Jaeger?”

“Yes sir” Simon Saluted. “Then this is goodbye?”

Nick Tatopoulos walked forward. “I wouldn’t be so sure about that, you flying and gut feeling could be of use to us, what to you say?”

“I have a feeling I’ll be more useful than you think.” Simon took Nick’s hand. “When can I start?”

“As soon as your out. Welcome to the Humanitarian Environmental Analysis Team, kid”

Godzilla & Nick Tatopoulos Thoughts

Okay now hear me out, I have bought ‘Godzilla: The Series’ on DVD and have only finished the second disc, I don’t have complete knowledge, but I feel that the show doesn’t give off as much of the adorable parent/child relationship these two have.

Don’t get me wrong, I have been cooing nonstop, every time when Nick is in even the slightest of dangers and Godzilla appears to save him, but I just wish to see them be affectionate to one another like Godzilla was in the first episode when he first recognized Nick as his parental figure and licked his face.

I just want these two to enjoy being each other’s family, have a bonding moment, several in fact, share an understanding that if something goes wrong with one of them that the other will have their back.

Update -

I have now watched the whole series and I still would have liked for these two to just hang and be adorable small soft parent/giant protective reptile child.
