1, 2, 10, 13, 19, 42 and 43 :)
What fandoms do you write for?
Skam Italia and Roswell New Mexico.
2. What pairings do you write for?
Mostly Nicotino and Malex but I am open to any pairing. 10. How do you stay motivated to finish what you’ve started?
I usually don't, that's why it takes me years to finish stories with more than one chapter. 13. What is your planning process?
I write an outline of the scenes that are going to be in the fic. 19. Dead or overused tropes?
That I used: 'it was all a dream', That I can't stand: love triangles 42. Rudest review?
That I completely ruined the characters, making them crybabies and that my choice of using the 2nd person singular narrator (since then I'm very self-conscious about using it and I switch to 3rd, because I don't really like the 1st, not even in novels) showed that I was almost illiterate. I don't even care if anyone says that about my writing in Italian, because it's my first language and I've studied enough to judge to be aware that I'm not the worst writer... but for English you never go that much in depth, so I don't have that same awareness. 43. Guilty pleasure tropes and scenarios?
The answer to 19 was so limited because I actually enjoy tropes, they give me that sense of predictability that I enjoy from the books I read or movies and TV shows that I watch. A good writer can make them compelling as well. So I don't think I've got some that I am a bit ashamed to like. Anyway, I love: and there was only one bed, curtain shopping fics, matchmakers to lovers, the mom friend being the one in need but no one notices (that's why I would have loved a SkamIT season on Giovanni :( ; we kinda saw that in S3 but not that well),
Anyone is free to send more, the post for the n° is HERE

This is my first Nicotino fic, please be nice with me :)
Okay, so that was Martino’s life now. He actually got a boyfriend, a few weeks ago. How, he will never understand. How could Niccolò could ever be his, he actually didn’t get it. He couldn’t possibly wrap his brain around it. As weird as it is, life still goes on. A few months ago he thought he was straight…well, no. Not really. He just thought he was going to be locked in that closet forever. And coming out to himself was definitely the hardest part. Telling Gio was easier than admitting that he was feeling things for Niccolò, things he didn’t ever feel before. And even his crush on Gio last year couldn’t compare. So, yeah, he couldn’t lie to himself anymore. To anyone, for that matter. His parents both knew by now, his friends, the girls…It was all good. Especially if it meant that he could stare at Niccolò all day and not be scared to get caught looking at him. That guy was way too hot for him.
Speaking of which…The door to his bedroom sprang open and Niccolò came in, smile tugging at his lips. Martino’s mom was away for the weekend, she finally got around to get a train ticket and wanted to visit Aunt Cecina. So, naturally, Martino called Niccolò straight away, and they had plans for the whole weekend. Which mainly included kissing, making out…Marti’s favorite activity, to be honest. But his train of thoughts was derailed by Niccolò hoping on the bed and kissing him senseless, making Marti blush like a schoolgirl. Nico looked at him like Christmas came early, which kind of did, thanks to Mamma Rametta. They didn’t often get the whole apartment to themselves, since Niccolò’s mom was working from home these days. So yeah, Elisabetta Rametta’s weekend away to her sister’s house fell on point.
Marti stopped thinking about his mother and aunt, and took Nico’s face into his hands, eyes closed. They barely even kissed and he was getting worked up already, inevitable proof that Niccolò did things to him he couldn’t even imagine before crossing paths. “You’re thinking too loud”, Niccolò said, smiling, eyes closed as well. Marti just looked at him, breath catching in his throat. “How come you’re so beautiful and I get to kiss you, that’s something I will never understand”, he couldn’t help the words fall out of his lips. Blush spread across his cheeks as Niccolò opened his eyes, dark with something fonder than affection. “You’re not so bad yourself”, Nico smiled against Martino’s lips. His lips were on fire, just being so close to Niccolò. He breathed into his shoulder’s skin, nuzzling his nose against his boyfriend, smelling him in. How could someone affect him so much ? He thought, trying to calm himself down. Nico tilted his chin up, and looked at him, eyes curious. “Can I ask you something ?”, he said, acting as if his proximity wasn’t almost too much for Martino. He nodded, staring into his eyes. Nico kissed him, hard, long, and Marti willed himself to cool down. How come girls never affected him this way ? “Am I your first ?” Nico was leaving kisses on his skin, his earlobe, his neck, and Marti drew a sharp breath. That was definitely a spot he liked, and Niccolò seemed to catch on it. He latched on his skin, sucking, biting; and Marti was gone. He was panting by the time Nico reached his lips again, smiling, the little fucker. Marti opened his eyes to find his boyfriend taking his own shirt off. Shit. He gaped at him, mouth dry all of a sudden. Niccolò wasn’t kidding when he did say that he liked to work out. His toned abs, his arms, his stomach…Everything was tight and tanned, and Martino bit back a moan. He was gone for this boy, this gorgeous creature facing him. Niccolò laughed, and Marti stared at him, puzzled. “Did you forget my question ? Oh, and also, staring much ?” Marti smiled, caught red-handed. He took Nico by the waist, his hips aligned with this. He breathed in, cheeks red, the sight before him going straight to his dick. At this rate Nico would soon understand how much Marti was affected. “Yeah”, he simply said, not caring to elaborate. “Am I yours ?” Nico smirked. “You wish”, he laughed against Martino’s lips, kissing him again, making him short of breath. Oh wow. Kissing had never been this good.

All the things I want to tell you
It has been long weeks. Long weeks with hiding and finding their way back to each other. Nico tried to be there for his boyfriend, tried to give him all the love he was feeling in his heart. But it hasn't been easy. As soon as they stepped out of the safety of their homes, Marti distanced himself from Nico.
They always tried to ignore the glances at them, when they showed a little more affection for each other and with that Nico thought about small, normal things like holding hands in public or giving his boyfriend a little peck on the cheeks as a greeting, but since the fight Marti was insecure, anxious about any person looking at them. It broke Nico's heart seeing his boyfriend like this, not able to help him. It was as his words not really came through to him. And even at home, in their safe-zone Marti distanced himself. They cuddled and kissed, but nothing too passionate. Every time Nico tried to be intimate, Marti found an excuse to interrupt his attempts. He never complained, but he knew he needed to talk about it. It wasn't that Nico was just a horny teenager, but he was worrying about Marti.
Right now they were watching a movie at Marti's place. It was a Saturday evening and Nico was allowed to stay over. He was looking forward to spent the night with Marti, holding him as they fall asleep and wake up next to him in the morning. Of course he was hoping for a little bit more than just kissing, but he won't push his boyfriend. They had every time in the world to find back to each other.
Marti had himself curled up at his side and Nico was holding him in his arms. As usual he was playing with his hair. It has grown out a little bit and Nico loved running his fingers through this full and soft hair, sometimes closing his eyes, just focusing upon the tickling feeling.
Nico heard Marti's constant breathing, felt his body becoming limp and heavy in his arms. His boyfriend must fell asleep. He placed a soft kiss on top of Marti's head. He wasn't tired at all. Haven't been for the last weeks, always ready if Marti needed him. He was resting his head lightly on his boyfriend's and watched the movie.
After it finished he stayed like this. He didn't want to change his position, afraid it might wake up the sleeping boy in his arms. But instead of playing another movie he decided to talk to him. There was so much going on in his head, he needed to talk about. He doesn't want to bother Marti right now, so he thought this might be a good place to start, to let his thoughts out of the cage of his own mind.
“Hey you, I hope you know, you're safe with me. I saw you shutting off the last weeks and it broke my heart. You are my sunshine, the light of my life...God, that sounds so cheesy, but I love being cheesy with you. You are bringing out the best of me. You made me understand what love, what trust is. I know we can't be like other couples out in public and that makes me sad sometimes. I wish we could just hold hands when we are out for a walk or kiss when we want to. And damn, I always want to kiss you,” while he was speaking to Marti his hands were wandering over his sleeping boyfriend's arm, gently sliding up and down, “I want to dance with you when we're partying with our friends. This is so fucking unfair. But you know right now, I just want to be able to touch you and it feels like you're shutting me out, with every step I take towards you, you find another excuse to not let me near you. And I understand that, but it hurts me. I love you so much Marti and I won't push you, but I hope you allow me to be near you again,” he bend down a little to kiss the top of the red messy hair, that was tingling his neck, “And I hope we can go on a vacation together during the summer. I've dreamt about this for a while now. I see us two standing in front of St. Paul's Cathedral in London or lying in a tent in the wilderness of Norway, just the two of us and only the stars over us as our witnesses. I want to explore the world with you. I want to amble with you along the channels of Amsterdam, holding your hand, not thinking about homophobes throwing shit at us” he paused for a moment, tried to shake off the thoughts about all the hate they had faced until now, gulped back his tears and continued his speech. It felt so relieving to be able to tell Marti everything what was on his mind.
“I can't wait until the apartment is finally ready to move in. I never asked you, because I thought it would be too early, but I wish you could move in with me. You and me together, building our own safe place, where nobody can hurt us. Sometimes I lay down on my bed and daydream about it and it makes me so happy. You make me so happy. And I know I scare you sometimes. I am sorry for that, you know that. But I need to tell you, you are always there with me. Even on my lowest point everything I could think of was you. We never really talk about Milan and I get why, but I want to talk about it. I want you to understand that there wasn't a moment I was not thinking about you. Until you, when I got a really bad episode, there was only me. I was the last man on earth, left alone on this stupid planet. But since I met you I wasn't alone anymore. And thinking about spending the rest of my life with you doesn't scare me at all. I want to live with you, grow old with you, maybe have kids together, who knows. As long as you are by my side, I am not afraid of the future.”
As he finished he noticed the tears on his cheeks. He was so full of love for this boy in his arms, sometimes he wonders how it was possible to feel so much love for one person without suffocating from it.
Martino was holding his eyes closed as Nico spoke. He woke up a while ago, but felt so safe in his arms, not wanting to leave his spot and so he stayed silent. But now he needed to say something. Something he wanted to tell Nico for so long, but wasn't able to. Not just because Nico never asked, but he didn't want to scare him away, bringing this topic on the table.
“Then lets start with living together, because I really would love to live with you,” he whispered and looked up, a big smile on his lips.
“How long have you been listening?” Nico was caught off guard, his green eyes staring a little bit scared at the younger one.
“I heard everything. Every word, every thought. Why didn't you talk to me before?” there was no anger in his voice, just honest worry and sadness, because he made Nico shut off, made him hide away his feelings.
“I didn't want you to suffer more than you already did. I didn't want to push you into something you didn't want to do. I thought it might be counterproductive to speak about vacation or living together after what you had experienced or about the fact, how I feel when you cut me off, when you didn't want any intimacy.” Nico was avoiding looking him in the eyes. “I feel like a fool. I know sex isn't the most important thing in a relationship, but things were different before the incident and I miss you, I miss feeling you close to me, I miss you feeling safe with me,” he sighed.
Marti knew what Nico was talking about. He wanted to be close to him too, but there was something holding him back. He reached out, cupping Nico's face with his hands, carefully as if he was holding his whole world in them. “Nico, my love, I want to be near you, I want it so bad, but...I don't know what it is...it is like there is a voice in my head...his voice, telling me this is wrong, disgusting...” he was trembling and Nico put his arms around him, holding him tight to his chest. “I want you so bad...” Marti's voice nothing but a whisper.
“What can I do? How can I help you?” Nico mumbled into his hair.
“Stop this voice in my head, make me feel safe again,” Marti responded with a pleading voice and a shiver run down Nico's spine. Nico slid next to Marti, caressing his face with his fingers, tracing down the soft outlines of his cheekbones and tilting up his face so he could meet his lips with a tender kiss. “Does this feels wrong?” Marti could only shook his head in respond, closing his eyes again as soon as Nico's hand slowly moved from his face to his neck, pulling him closer to deepen the kiss. He could feel Nico carefully parting his lips, waiting for Marti to make the decision, how this should go on and Marti answered with his tongue sliding into Nico's mouth, meeting his tongue, nudging against it.
Nico broke away “Does this feels wrong?”
“No,” Marti answered out of breath and with rosy cheeks. As they turned into another kiss, Nico's hand, until than just focused on Marti's face and hair, moved downwards and Marti could feel it burning all the way down along his shoulder and his side until it settled at the end of his t-shirt. A feeling he had missed so bad and yet it was different this time. He wasn't able to respond to the touches as he was used to. Nico slowly got under the light fabric and Marti could feel soft fingers exploring every inch of his back, carefully brushing along the side, leaving a pleasant tingle.
Nico pushed himself up and rolled Marti on his back, pressing their bodies together again, still separated by their clothes. Nico's hands again up on Marti's face, his own face just centimeters away. Their eyes locked and Marti could see so much love and adoration in them, it washed away a fraction of the guilt, of the insecurity.
Nico leaned down, meeting Marti's lips with a soft kiss before he set up to kneel over Marti. Carefully and ready to stop at any moment he got his hands back under the t-shirt, starting to push it up and he whispered “Does this feels wrong?” and Marti replied with lifting himself up to help Nico take off the shirt, “No,” more a breath than actual voice.
After the shirt had gone, Nico sat up, tracing down a line between all the freckles on Marti's chest with his fingers up to his shoulder and carefully, as if he didn't want to miss a single line, he outlined his tattoo. Marti didn't stop him so he leaned down and followed the way back with his tongue. Slowly starting at his shoulder, wandering down his chest, pausing at his nipples. He glanced up and Marti, who was not able to make a sound, only nodded, assuring him, that this was what he wanted – what he needed.
With every touch of Nico's fingers on his body, with every little kiss he was loosing more and more of his fear, of his memories of that fateful fight. Nico was letting his tongue gliding around his right nipple, playing with it, soft and without any rush before he got a little bit more courageous and tenderly bit in it. Marti couldn't repress it any longer and a silent moan left his mouth “Ni...”.
“Does this feels wrong?” Nico smirked up at Marti who was finally able to move. He grabbed his neck and pulled Nico in a hot kiss, not thinking about anybody else than the boy on top of him, pressing their bodies together. It was only them, the last men on earth. Nothing else mattered anymore. And he needed to feel more of Nico so he let his hands slid under the shirt he was still wearing. “Take it off,” he commanded and Nico sat up, smiling as he took it off over his head. Again he let his fingers sliding over Marti's chest, but this time Marti's hands were on him too.
Nico's hands wandered down to the soft skin right over the waistband of Marti's jeans and Marti could feel his skin reacting to this touch with a long missed and pleasing shudder.
“Kiss me again,” Marti begged with a breathy voice, a wish Nico was only too happy to fulfill. Lying down on top of him, Marti could feel Nico's skin on his own and he pressed himself up, pulling Nico down with his hands against his body to cover every free spot with his warmth.
The kiss was messy and hot and open and it was difficult to breathe, but Marti didn't mind. Soon Nico's lips found their way back to the precious spot under Marti's ear. He loved kissing, licking and sucking his boyfriend's neck, the soft skin under his ear, the way he could feel Marti's pulse at his lips and tongue. “Does this feels wrong?” Nico asked with hoarse voice next to Marti's ear, gently biting his way up to Marti's helix and letting his tongue play with it. “Hmmm...no,” Marti's voice was deeper than usual, transporting his arousal with it.
“Good,” Nico replied and made his way back down, leaving kisses on Marti's collarbone, the soft skin next to his armpit, along the sensitive side of Marti's chest, all the way down to his pelvis.
Carefully, he started unzipping Marti's pants.
Marti looked at him with big eyes, putting one hand on his to halt the movement.
Their eyes met and Nico let go of the pants and laid a hand on his cheek. They looked at each other for a long time before Nico spoke again. "You are so beautiful and sexy and so fragile. If you feel safer then we can just lie here, cuddle and look into each others eyes."
A smile appeared on Marti's lips, "I'm just so overwhelmed by everything. Nowhere do I feel as safe as in your arms and I want you Ni, more than anything else. I didn't realize how much I missed that, how much I missed feeling you so close, not just in the physical way,” he smiled and lifted his head up to catch Nico's lips in a soft and tender kiss, while his hands went down to complete what Nico had begun.
He took Nico's hand in his, leading her down to rest on his crotch so Nico could feel his erection.
“This doesn't feel wrong,” he whispered in Nico's ear and with a smile he added ”this feels right in every fucking way.”
They loved each other the whole night, only interrupted to gather strength and whisper to each other tender confirmations of their love.
In the end, they lay on the bed wrapped around the other, holding each other as close as possible.
“You really want to live with me?” Nico asked insecurely.
“Of course I want to! I thought about it since you mentioned your parents were allowing you to live on your own. Oh well, to be honest, I thought about living with you before that. I have built up our complete home in my mind. What our living room would look like and our bedroom. I have a picture of it in my head down to the smallest detail. But in the end all of this doesn't matter. Our home is going to be wonderful, because it will be ours and you are there with me. That is all what matters to me.”
Nico was happy and overwhelmed as so often thinking about how lucky he was with a partner like Marti on his side to spent the rest of his live together.
“Than lets do this,” he said. “Lets do this,” Marti smiled back at Nico, leaning over to seal this promise with a kiss.

I don’t know if you take requests haha but could you write something about Marti and Nico talking about Giovanni?
“A barista thought Gio was my boyfriend today,” Martino mentioned casually as he pulled back the sheets on his bed.  Nico strolled into the room with furrowed eyebrows and a cup of water pressed to his lips.
“Why?” he asked as he placed the cup on the desk.  Martino took a moment to let his eyes skim across his boyfriend’s chest.  He looked so good shirtless, he really should just exist that way always.  The best part was he got to stare and touch pretty much whenever he wanted.  He didn’t even look away to keep talking until Nico let out a laughing little, “Marti”.
“Oh, uh, I don’t know.  If I had to guess it was because when I spilled hot chocolate on myself, Gio freaked out making sure I wasn’t burnt.  She was like, ‘you guys are so cute’ when she gave us more napkins.” Martino explained as he climbed into bed.  Niccolò followed, tucking the pillow under his head as he grinned.
“What’d you say?”
“I didn’t really have time to say anything because Gio said thanks.  Which was for the napkins, but he didn’t bother to specify.” Martino said, rolling his eyes.  A laugh escaped him, though, when Nico’s smile took over his face and his body shook with near silent laughter.
“What makes you think Gio would ever specify? He doesn’t care when people think you’re together.” Nico teased, reaching over to prod his thumb into Martino’s chest lightly.  Marti grabbed Nico’s hand in his own, pulling it up to his lips.
“I’m so glad you’re not the jealous type.  I got lucky.” Martino hummed, scooting closer.  Nico nudged their noses together, carefully using his foot to push in between Martino’s thighs.
“Oh, I can be jealous.  Just never of Giovanni Garau.” Niccolò explained, using his leg to close the space between their hips.  Martino watched him with red painted cheeks.  “Speaking of Giovanni, how is he?  I know Sophia broke up with him over the break.”
“He’s fine,” Martino insisted, dragging careful fingertips across Niccolò’s arm.  “He’s too distracted by making sure Eva stays away from Federico.”
“Oh, right, I forget he isn’t over her.” Nico hummed, pushing his hand beneath Martino’s shirt.  Marti tensed up and almost completely forgot what they were talking until Nico spoke again.  “You think they’ll get back together?”
“No.  Well, I mean, I kinda hope not.  You didn’t know them when they were together.  They were all over each other all the time, it was gross.  Besides, Eva was insecure as hell and Giovanni would just push her away.  It was just messy, I don’t even know how they’d function if they got back together.” Martino admitted, slyly leaving out the part where he was a key factor in their breakup.  He would rather never admit that to anyone, including Niccolò if he had the option.  He’s not like that anymore.
“I don’t know, they seem to love each other a lot.  And, you know, time apart definitely helps when your issues are superficial.” Nico said, his hand pressing against Martino’s back as he successfully closed every inch of space between them.  Once again, Marti was forgetting the subject.
“Mhm.” he hummed in response, his eyes slipping closed as he involuntarily tilted his head so their lips would be closer.  He felt Nico’s smile when he kissed him, holding him tight and reminding him how much he enjoyed the nights when his mom wasn’t home.
Martino easily moved to where he was on top of Nico, kissing him as fervently as he could.  There were a lot of things he enjoyed doing with Niccolò, but discussing Giovanni’s relationship status while he was touching him in a way that made him lose his mind was not one of them.  That was something they could talk about tomorrow.
“Conversation over?” Nico breathed, melting under his boyfriend who placed kisses down his neck.  Martino smiled happily, nodding his head as he sat up only to remove his shirt.  He had much better plans than discussing other people’s love lives, regardless of how much he loved Giovanni and Eva.  He also loved Nico, however, and they didn’t know when they would be getting the house to themselves again.
Martino was going to make the most of every single minute.
“Conversation over.”

Hey :) It would be cool to read something about what an evening Nicotino spenda together with the boys and/or Marti’ and Nico’s first real date and/or simply a lazy evening together With making out, talking, laughing-just some fluff. So these are 3 ideas I randomly got :D
here you go, anon, hope you like it!!!!!!!!!
ps. I’m not sure if it was very realistic to have them going to a restaurant considering Italy’s situation, but I wanted to do it
pps. I’m anxious about posting this, so I’m just gonna run and hide in a corner fdssdjddjjf
After all the playful teasing about them not having been on a real date, Nico decides to finally make it happen. He’s wanted to for the longest time, anyway. Why wouldn’t he when being with Marti seems to be everything he could ever ask for? Moreover, it’s a chance to make his boyfriend feel good, appreciated and loved, and that’s the chance he’s always willing to take.
“I’m taking you on a date,” Nico tells him one evening while they’re studying together at his place.
“Really?” Marti turns to look at Nico with a smile on his face.
“What, did you think I’d never get around to it?”
“Hmm… Nope, I honestly didn’t,” the boy says in a mock-serious tone.
“I can’t believe you think so little of me,” Nico says, putting a hand where his heart is. They both laugh. “I’ve been making some plans for it these days. We’ll go to a restaurant and then take a walk around someplace really beautiful. Okay?”
“Okay.”
“Okay?”
“Okay,” Marti beams at him.
Nico is reminded of that time he asked Marti to go to that Halloween party with him. Truth is, he was feeling shaky because of the nerves he felt at that moment, even though he was hiding it with the big smile on his face. But all Marti had to do was say “okay” and suddenly the world had felt more still.
“Is it alright if we do it in two weeks on Saturday night?”
“Yeah, sounds good to me,” Martino nods.
After that, it’s settled.
—-
The two weeks pass by incredibly quickly and it’s time for their date. Nico is sitting in the car (the same car he took from his mom to come to Bracciano on a Saturday that seems so long ago) getting ready to go pick Marti up from his house. He can’t pinpoint the reason why, but he feels agitated. Well, maybe he can. Niccolò really needs this evening to go perfectly.
What if something goes wrong, though? What if the service in the restaurant is terrible? Or the food? What if his boyfriend is not at all impressed by the places he’s decided to take him to? What if…
Nico doesn’t even realize that he’s out of the car and already at Marti’s door. He takes one last deep breath and hears the door opening.
“Hey,” Marti greets him. “I heard someone walking and I thought it would be you.”
“That eager to see me, huh?”
Nico goes silent for a moment after looking at Martino. Like when something that catches your eye is so surprisingly lovely that you end up being at a loss for words, because it feels like there’s nothing left to do but to admire the beauty in front of you. Without any interruptions.
Martino is wearing a dark suit that looks astoundingly good on him and a matching tie. His hair looks exceptionally nice, too (bold of Marti to assume Nico has ever believed that he doesn’t care about his hair).
Marti. His boyfriend. The love of his life. Niccolò truly can’t believe his luck, and he doesn’t suppose he ever will be able to believe it.
“You look breathtaking, Marti,” is all that he can utter before going to kiss the boy standing in front of him.
“I can definitely say the same about you,” Martino says, blushing. “Shall we set out?”
“Of course.”
“What, did you think about leaving before saying goodbye to me?” Mamma Rametta appears at the door.
“I wouldn’t dare,” Marti gives his mom a kiss on the cheek.
“Hi, Niccolò,” she says and pulls Nico into a hug. He greets her back, smiling. He loves how close he has become with her. “Okay, now I can let you two go. Have a wonderful night and be safe!”
They both thank her and start going to Nico’s car as Mamma Rametta waves goodbye.

“How’s the food?”
They’re almost done eating their dinner, which has been a success, Nico thinks. He’s glad that this is the restaurant he’s chosen, because they’re on a rooftop and they get to enjoy the view of the Roman Forum and the city lights (the scenery could never be as beautiful as Marti, though, at least not to Nico, but that’s nothing new, right?). Seeing Marti’s face while looking around and hearing him say “But how cool is this place?” was enough to make it worth it.
“What can I say… this bucatini all'amatriciana is a thousand times better than your attempt at carbonara, of that I’m certain.”
“Asshole,” Nico laughs. Of course he had to bring it up. “You know what I’ve decided? For our next date, I’m going to try it for the second time.”
“What makes you think I’d go on a date with you again after you’ve told me this?”
“Not sure, maybe the fact that youre in love with me?”
“Fuck, you’ve got me there,” Marti concedes.
“Also, I’ll write a song for you and play it on the piano on our next date. Are you more interested now?”
“You know I am. You still haven’t played the piano for me yet, remember?”
Nico nods. He knows. He’s already started writing a song for him. He wants it to be a special experience, something they can both remember for the longest time.
“Another thing… Don’t want to ruin the mood, but isn’t this restaurant really expensive? How much is all this going to cost?”
“Hey, you don’t have to worry about that. Just enjoy this night, that’s all I want for you,” Nico says softly.
Marti doesn’t take the discussion further.
—-
Since the other place he wants to take Marti isn’t very far away, they decide to walk to it from the restaurant. Somewhere along the way, they start holding hands. It warms Nico’s heart that Martino has become so much less fearful about showing affection in public. He’s gained confidence in who he is, he’s brave enough to be his authentic self, it’s apparent. And Niccolò is overwhelmingly proud as well as willing to protect Marti from any person who would want to take that away from him.
They pass by Bocca della Verità and turn to Clivo dei Publicii. It’s so peaceful and quiet here (as a matter of fact, it’s one of the quietest places in the city), which is exactly what Nico wanted. Just them being together someplace beautiful, undisturbed. While climbing up to the Aventino hill, Nico’s eyes are fixed on St. Peter’s Basilica in the distance.
“Remember when we rode through Vatican with a bike on the night of the Halloween party?”
“I could never forget, Ni,” Marti speaks. “It was the first time in my entire life I’d ever felt free. Thanks to you.”
He pauses and stops in his tracks. Nico turns to look at him. “You’ve liberated me. I owe you everything, you know that?”
Nico’s heart starts beating at a rapid pace. “Marti… I’m the one who owes you everything, believe me.”
He can’t even begin to explain how important Marti is to him. All his life, he’d been told how to feel instead of being listened to. All his life, he’d been made to think it’s impossible for him to be in a healthy and loving relationship with someone. All his life, he’d felt alone. Utterly alone. Up until he met Marti.
Marti, who cares about what Nico feels. Marti, who makes sure to know what Nico wants. Marti, who held his face, kissed his tears, made Nico look at him and said “TU non sei solo, hai capito?”. Marti, who is the bravest, kindest, the most caring and loving person Nico knows.
“Well, I guess we’re just both really indebted to each other, then, aren’t we?”
Nico can’t help but smile. “I love you so much.”
“I love you so much, too,” Marti replies.
They continue walking until they reach Giardino degli Aranci. They stop to indulge in the view of Rome at night (it’s a sight to behold, truly) and it’s highly pleasant for Nico to walk around such a beautiful place with Marti by his side.
“Do you like it here?”
“Are you kidding? I love it here, Ni!”
Nico lets out a breath of relief. “Good. I hoped you would.”
The last thing they do before going back for Nico’s mom’s car is look through the keyhole at the end of the road which offers a spectacular view of St. Peter’s. They both smile at each other after seeing it. Nico knows it’s because of what this building is reminiscent of to them.
—-
“But is it really impossible for you to come to mine for tonight?” Nico asks in between kisses.
They’ve already arrived to where Marti’s apartment building is, but neither of them seems to want to say goodbye. Or stop kissing.
“It is, sadly. I wish I could spend the whole night with you,” Marti pulls back to say this.
“Me too,” Nico admits.
They end up just looking at each other for a while. Nico is taken aback by how fondly Marti’s gazing at him. He just wants to freeze this moment and stay right here for longer. Just him and the love of his life, happy, peaceful, like all their worries have disappeared. He supposes he should take Marti on dates more often. Tonight was perfect.
“Thank you so much for doing this, Ni. I needed it,” Marti tells him wholeheartedly.
“We’re going to do this again. So many more times. I promise,” Nico kisses his boyfriend’s hand.
“I have to go now,” Marti says in a regretful tone.
Niccolò gives him one last kiss for tonight. “I love you.”
“I love you. See you soon?”
“See you soon, Elio,” Nico replies. Elio del mio , he recalls.
Marti gives him a warm smile and gets out of the car. Nico watches him as he walks into the building. Right before going in, Martino turns around to blow a kiss. Nico does the same.
And just like that, their first of many dates is over.

A Nicotino Drabble
I can’t help myself apparently. Preparing for the sadness to come with fluff.
——
“I love your tattoos,” Niccolò says, finger tracing the palm tree on Martino’s ankle.
“You do?”
They’re laying on opposite ends of the bed, passing a joint between them, and Martino’s head feels light, pleasantly relaxed as they lay there in the mid-morning sunlight streaming through Niccolò’s window. His skin tingles where Niccolò touches it and he doesn’t want to hand back the joint, to make Niccolò stop.
Niccolò’s smile widens, and before Martino can stop him, he’s crawling up so they’re face to face and Martino is trying not to stare at Niccolò’s bare chest. He doesn’t know where Niccolò’s shirt went and he doesn’t care.
Niccolò plucks the joint from his hand, taking the last drag. He sets it aside, leaning into Martino, brushing his fingers over the tattoo on Martino’s shoulder. Martino fights back a shiver, his heart thumping in a way it never has before. He’d thought, after last night, that he couldn’t feel any happier, but here, with Niccolò so close, every touch so soft and careful it makes his heart hurt somehow—he didn’t even know that was possible—every moment seems to get better.
“They’re so you,” Niccolò says, and Martino smiles, leaning into Niccolò without even thinking, happy when Niccolò meets him in the middle for a soft, lazy kiss that Martino never wants to end.
He never imagined it would be so easy, so simple, to be with someone like Niccolò. He’s spent so much time wishing and it almost doesn’t feel real even when Niccolò’s fingers trace his jaw, bury themselves in his hair and Niccolò kisses him slowly, lips dragging against his.
“What is me?” Marti asks, reaching for Niccolò’s waist, almost tentative against the bare skin, nervous still.
Niccolò’s smile brightens up the room and he hums softly. “Your tattoos,” he says, fingers falling down Martino’s neck and Martino closes his eyes for a second, concentrating on Niccolò’s voice, deep and smooth. “Your freckles.” Niccolò presses a kiss to Martino’s chin and Martino’s smile widens. “Your smile.” Martini opens his eyes to meet Niccolò’s.
It’s crazy that he’s here, Martino thinks. Crazy and amazing, and he wouldn’t trade it for anything when Niccolò leans into him.
“You are everything,” Niccolò says, staring deep into Martino’s eyes, and Martino feels like he can see everything about him.
“So are you,” he says and Niccolò laughs before he closes the gap and Martino never wants this moment to end. He never wants any of this to end. He wants to live in this moment forever, and as he presses closer to Niccolò, he thinks maybe he can.

martino is nervous to meet niccolò’s mom once again, wants to mend what could have been the first time and finally find comfort in the woman with whom gave life to the boy he is unbelievably, irrevocably in love with.
nico picks him up at his apartment with a blinding smile and marti is instantly put to some relief, leaning in to give him a hello kiss. “are you ready to go?” nico whispers into his lips when they part a bit. martino slightly nods and grabs his hand, interlacing their fingers.
the walk to nico’s house is silent but comfortable, they walk there hand in hand, steps mirrored, kisses to cheeks and on palms of hands and to wrists, and with huge smiles plastered to their faces. martino could have never imagined his life would be like this; walking with his boyfriend to go meet his mom, so happy, so free, so alive.
when they finally get there, they stop before the door and martino’s heart rate picks up again; but nico slowly puts his hands around marti’s waist, and gives him a gentle kiss on the nose, “she’s going to love you just as much as i do.”
love
love
a blush creeps along his cheeks and his heart leaps into his stomach and his breath is knocked out of his lungs.
he’s able to recover quickly, kissing nico chastely on the lips.
unlocking the door still hand in hand, nico softly calls for his mom and when she arrives around the corner her face is just how he remembered but the frown has been replaced with a huge smile very similar to his boyfriends.
she greets nico with a hug and then looks over at marti, “we’ll if it isn’t you again.” she teases slightly and pulls martino into a tight hug.
she ushers them to the living room for the tea that was promised and they all are able to ease into a conversation very easily; she asks martino the usual questions, they recount how they met, and of course how nico was as a child, ultimately deciding to pull out the photo album. martino coos at how adorable he was but doesn’t forget to quietly whisper in nico’s ear that “don’t worry, you’re still adorable now.”
mama fares can see the love in their eyes, something she never quite saw when nico was with maddalena, can see how much martino loves and cares for her boy already, can see that this is what niccolò has been waiting for his whole life and presumably what martino has been waiting for as well; all of the pieces aligning right in front of her eyes.
when it’s time for nico to walk marti back home, mama fares pulls martino into another hug, this time softly whispering “i’m sorry about last time, i can now see how good you are for him. thank you for being good to my boy.” when she pulls back, martino can see slight tears in her eyes and the warmest smile on her lips. he gives her a grin and a nod, waving a goodbye and promising to come back soon.
the walk back is similar to the walk there, relief overtaking their bodies. only this time a conversation is being told in their movements, it’s boyfriends huddled close together and hands wrapped around hands and kisses to cold noses.
when they arrive back to martino’s, it’s kisses to cold mouths and hands under shirts touching cold skin.
yeah, martino is unbelievably and irrevocably in love with this boy.
