Yoshimura for the character ask? I feel like there's a lot to pick apart with him

Good choice

In the manga, Yoshimura plays the role of the wise elder. He's calm, he's an advocate for peace, and whilst he does eventually admit to wrongdoings in the past, it can be dismissed as "he's made the mistakes so you don't have to". His sketchy background and marginal behaviour only highlights how 'reformed' he is now. It makes him more relatable and sympathetic towards others who aren't as enlightened as he is.

This is all good on paper, but in real life I think Yoshimura would be a more complicated character. The man is incredibly secretive, and only reveals his mistakes when he has no other option. He is not very forthcoming at all, which may put off people who genuinely need and want help from him. It's hard to trust a seemingly perfect person who demands trust from others but stonewalls them in return. I think it was Nishiki who described him as creepy, and Tatara was correct when he implied that Yoshimura kept people as projects.

Yoshimura is a very manipulative person, albeit a covert one. He orchestrates others' under the guise of 'leading' them. He 'rescues' them whilst being deliberately vague about what he's rescuing them from.

I read something about how to spot a cult leader masquerading as a guru. A guru wants the people they're helping to become confident and independent, whereas a cult leader (or other person with power that may have ulterior motives) wants the individual dependent on them. I think Yoshimura falls into the latter, even if he doesn't think so himself. He wants his people around him, practising what he preaches, and keeps tabs on them all the time (even hiring Yomo to be another pair of eyes). He isn't keen on people venturing out on their own.

I've always wondered why he never bothered with Uta. Maybe he saw that Uta would see right through him.

To summarise, dealing with Yoshimura in real life would be frustrating at best, and dangerous at worst. He's a dodgy guy.

AND THAT IS WHY I THINK HE WOULD SUCK IN REAL LIFE. if one were to be involved with him etc.

A brief self-introduction

My creator name is 涼森弐敷-Suzumori Nishiki-. Until last year, I was working as a 3DCG modeler at a video production company.

HMMMMMMMM I've been thinkin' a little about this when I started Yakuza Kiwami recently!! Thank you for making 2am-4am me finally do something about it!!

Not that I'm great dude that can draw detailed and accurate burns and so on, but I'm tucking this under a Read More tab to spare those who might be uncomfortable!!

CW: Burns, missing limbs etc.

Also! Major spoilers for Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami ahead! the game has been out for years- are spoiler notices still worth adding?

Obviously as the "guy who pulled the trigger", he'd suffer the most burns, cuts from shrapnel/physical damage from the collapsing floor.

His hair would have been lost/thinned in result. So while I would love to give Nishiki all his glorious hair back- it wouldn't be the same. So- it's thinned, less controllable.

I've drawn his burns darker here, but obviously over time, they settle down and they're not "as obvious"? In that, they're still present (and always will be) but they're not as deep as the initial burns.

The burns are present across most of his body (with a majority over his face/front of body) but also minimally present over his back. Mixes with his tattoo which makes it harder to see the burns. Examples of the body burns are a little later on.

I can't decide whether or not I think he'd lose his sight completely or partially? So there's gotta be eye damage in there somewhere (and not accurately drawn by me what-so-ever).

From left to right:

Full body burns and injuries. Shrapnel has sliced into him, flesh has deeply burnt/eroded so there's components where chunks of his chest is missing. This needs to be examined better in the future so there's definitely gonna be some better, more accurate details later on.

With his prosthetics!! Think he deserves these after everything. Arms/Legs need to be examined further to draw them accurately. Most/all damage should occur to the right side of Nishiki considering he pointed the gun at the bomb with his right forward.

Body w/o prosthetics. That's literally it ay.

... yeah.... this one's a joke........ I gotta find something that fits his Y0 aesthetic because mwah!!

Give me Kimi hot take

Shifty girl.

I was unsure about her at first, because I was worried that she'd be a pathetic "Take Care of Me 🥺" weak ass bitch, but she isn't at all!

She came straight at Kaneki with a taser like she does that shit daily, she let Nishiki eat part of her neck and it was no big deal... She's tough.

Obviously she's clever, but I think what gets overlooked with her, is that she's SLY. Nishiki disappears and she gets herself an internship with Tokyo's #1 mad scientist, makes allegiances with underground conspiracy theorist groups, like??? How??? And I don't fully believe she did it all for Nishiki, I like to think she was at least motivated in part, by the pursuit of knowledge. And the thrill of it. She definitely craves a bit of danger in her life...

And I think she knew - or at least suspected- Nishiki was a ghoul before Ken decimated him. Nobody that crafty doesn't have at least some suspicions.

All in all, I think she's one of my fave female characters. I consider her to be morally grey, incredibly tough, and somebody that a sensible person should be wary of. She's a dark horse.

Bonus - I know the anime/manga fudged her storyline (her family were wiped out before meeting Nishiki, but in a conversation with Ken she implies that they're still alive), BUT - I really wanna start a crack rumour that she killed her family. I mean, Kimi has CONNECTIONS. She's crafty, she's a ghoul apologist, devoted to her man, doesn't even know when her own parents and brother are dead/alive, yet she's clever 🧐?? She stated she turns a blind eye where Nishiki is concerned 👀 something to think about...

⚙️When you first started out, he went with things he’d see other couples do, which led to a lot of awkward situations where he thought he was showing affection well, but he just was doing things a bit more…uniquely(affectionate)

Touken/Kanetou "first times" headcanons:

Kaneki has never been read to as a child, or if he has, he certainly cannot remember. He often reads to Ichika and sometimes to Touka, who at one point admits that she finds his voice especially soothing. At times, he'll read to both, with Ichika on his lap and Touka leaning against his side, her arm hooked around his. But being read to? No, that doesn't happen. That is until he returns from work one day, both too tense to relax and too drained to do anything else besides think about how tense he is. Thankfully, Yomo is already watching over Ichika, so Touka drags him to their bedroom, lays his head down onto her lap, and reads to him his favourite book. She struggles over a few Kanji, but she pushes through her embrassment, stroking his head as his tension slowly unravels into a tender relaxation. Teary, he treasures this small intimate moment between them, and he would later ask her to do it again during times he feels depressed or tired. She, of course, is happy to indulge his rare requests.

It's pretty obvious that Touka and Kaneki had no time for dating by the time they became a couple. Sure, they spent the nights together, retreating to each other's arms for a brief moment of respite. But with the war against the CCG and the grim setting of the 24th Ward, they were robbed of their chance to experience the conventional dating lifestyle. So, once everything has settled and their wounds have healed, their friends insist that they watch over baby ichika and allow the couple some time to themselves. It doesn't take much convincing, but they're not exactly sure what to do, having spent so much of their lives tensely traversing through daily struggles. Yoriko steps in and takes Touka aside, giving her a pampering makeover, whilst Tsukiyama does the same for Kaneki (Nishiki joins to make sure it doesn't go overboard). When Kaneki and Touka meet at their date destination, (a beautiful garden and gazibo reserved just for the two of them), they're both quite flustered with how attractive the other looks. It actually reminds them of their wedding day, which they reminisce fondly together over a bottle of blood wine -- courtesy of Tsukiyama, of course. They hold hands, enjoying the silence while they watch the nearby pond reflect the soft colours of the evening sun. Squeezing her hand, Kaneki tells her that he's grateful to have met her, and with a small blush, she nods and says she's also grateful. They decide to go on a date every now and again from that day forward, having realised what exactly they've been missing.

When they have human visitors, which can be pretty often, Kaneki usually cooks something for them to eat. Touka usually keeps away from the kitchen, knowing she wouldn't be much help, but one day, she asks if she can help. She becomes pretty bashful when Kaneki becomes overly excited in response, beckoning her with a big smile. She grumbles as he helps tie her apron on, kissing the back of her neck. He teaches her how to best chop the vegetables, sometimes placing his hands over hers to guide her, watching her and gently encouraging her while she measures out the seasonings. Her embarassment remains, but she's touched by how happy Kaneki seems, listening to him carefully. Even when she makes a mistake, he gently rubs her shoulders, swiftly fixing whatever error she made. From that day forth, they both start making food for the cafe, spending their mornings working together.
