#no way. me roleplaying? on my roleplay blog?

this isn't really a pokemon welfare question so feel free to ignore it but. i recently found out a friend of mine has one of those blogs where they pretend to be a legendary pokémon, and it's specifically one that is religiously significant to me. i feel really weird about it and i'm not sure what to do or how to approach it, or even if i should?

have you talked to your friend about this at all? it's important to communicate if you aren't comfortable with something they're doing. you can't force them to stop or anything; legendary pokemon hold such a varied amount of significance, and even though it's a pokemon that means a lot to you religiously, it may just be another (albeit rare) pokemon to your friend. the pokemon itself isn't being harmed by making a blog, so there's nothing morally incorrect with them acting like a pokemon online.

however, just as they have the right to roleplay a pokemon online, you also have the right to feel uncomfortable with the way they're handling something important to you. if this is affecting your friendship in any way, you need to address that with them. they probably weren't even thinking about your religious beliefs (or if they were aware and are specifically targeting you, that's another conversation), so they might not even know it's a problem. i can't promise having a conversation will fix things, because that's up to you and your friend to sort out, but it's the best place to start.

i was raised in the church of arceus, and while i wouldn't call myself religious, it was an important part of my childhood growing up. i don't like hearing people make fun of some of the rituals because those were some of the few times i really felt like i got to be a normal kid (i was ALWAYS one of the "hands" in the creation pageant because i was too shy to have a speaking role lol). but other people have a lot of negative feelings about the church for valid reasons, so i don't try to police them talking about not liking the same things i loved as a kid. i just ask that they don't talk negatively about them around me. sometimes that's the best you can do, and you have to decide if the friendship is worth that.

I hope you don't mind, but I happened upon you deep in thought in the castle courtyard and...well, the sight took my breath away.

I used a Muggle contraption (I believe they call it a camera) to capture these still images. You look almost corporeal...

I am most intrigued by this Muggle contraption, and even more so — by how well you were able to capture me and my heart with it. And what a coincidence! I must admit, I had no idea that anybody was there at the time as I was most likely preoccupied with matters regarding me... Well, you said it yourself, looking corporal. If you have the time, allow me to explain.

You see, for the past two weeks I have been experimenting with something known as ancient magic. I cannot really see it but I can feel it when I am somewhere near the source, and I can really feel it if I touch it. If I spend plenty of time doing just that and focusing on being corporal — I seem to become so! Well, whatever part of me is surrounded by magic anyway.

That photo you took — I believe it was the first time that I have attempted to fully step into the stream of magic a day or two ago. The reason I needed to conduct some experiments first is rather serious as well: when the magic starts sipping away (and it never holds for longer than one day) I... Well, I am yet to find a way to make the transition back to my ghostly form less painful. As much as I was craving to feel, I forgot that pain is an integral part of life as well.

Needless to say that as fun as being able to be me again was, by the time I walked all the way back to the castle in my human form (and I got lost so many times since I could not just fly above the land toward the castle, oops) I was so tired that I just fell asleep on a bench somewhere near that area your camera captured me. When I woke up — I was a ghost again. At the very least, whatever pain I might have gone through that night, I slept through it.

I do hope that you are doing well, my darling. The sight of me should not be taking your breath away but instead making your heart beat and your soul soar. I hope you continue working on those still images because I did not get a chance to look at myself in the mirror that night. You are my only witness and I am honoured to have you share that special moment with me.

whoever sent sunny that cruel ask I really really hope you realise how much that hurts. as if we don't fucking go through enough living life with a disorder as stigmatised as this. only a few people in my life know that I have OSDD because it faces so much stigma. they make fucking horror movies where the killer has my disorder. I don't understand how someone can feel so much malice towards a stranger that they will not only send them an ask basically implying that they Don't Exist and are Pretend, but also take a jab at their identity too?? why are you so unkind? there was nothing forcing you to go out of your way to make a strangers day worse by telling them that they don't fucking exist. systems and fictives have been recognised by psychologists for years. I am recognised as a system by TWO professionals, including a psychiatrist. They both acknowledge sunny's existence because they are professionals in the field of psychology who actually know what they're talking about. you are expressing so much confidence with your ignorance it makes me feel sick. I've turned anons are off on sunny's blog, he's distraught. you disgust me. I am so glad I will never know you.

been thinking about the new pkmn legends taking place in kalos (especially in lumiose which btw brought so much memories of that place. its a maze. and i just remembered how i used the outer ring just so ik where im going into the inners of the city itself 😭)

the more i also had been thinking about risa darrell, my pkmn oc i had since pkmn xy came out. formerly lorissa but now they're Risa, and if i had keep playing as them to this day, they would be a married former champion who takes pokemon racing with tyrant their tyrantrum along with their wife- helga who is a photographer journalist. yes helga doesn't change her name other than, slapping galar as her birth place wheezes

anyway. thinking about risa's family actually, 'cause afaik risa moved to kalos was bc its where risa's mom's family lives in. the only reason for this was bc the old lorissa design i had? i gave that design to risa's mom which had made risa... uhhh their dad is kanto-hoenian and her mom's kalosian but they met and lived in sinnoh which is where risa had met helga there as kids but then moved away to kalos when risa's dad get a job transfer.

therefore. i guess. risa's grandma? grandparent? great-grandparent? could potentially had involved in helping with the city. who knows-

sometimes i really do miss writing with other folks. it's fun just shooting the shit or writing something kinda angsty while you both yell at each other in the tags or dms. but i always dunked my head directly under the water and overwhelmed myself with tumblr rp. an old blog sits dead but i still have so many fond memories.

You know as a kid, there was such a unique thrill in finding fandom spaces. As far as I was aware, my brother and I were the only people who had ever played the Devil May Cry games or watched the anime.

Imagine my disappointment when I discovered FanFic.net and tried to roleplay with the people in the community during the early 2010s.
