Drawing historically inspired clothing is so fun! I sort of flubbed the peasant woman's outfit though 😅

This year I'm getting ahead of artfight and starting my new references early! First up is a proper key pose for Helena!
Princess Helena is demure, graceful, and in all ways a very proper and predictable princess. She loves her status and all things pink, pretty, and fancy. Her royalty can make her a bit naive at times, protected as she is, but she is a very good listener and can read people often better than one might expect. She also has a penchant for getting her way that might undermine a bit of the perfect-princess facade if you get to know her well enough.

Queens are the ultimate brat tamers
“You will kneel when you address your queen.” The weathered monarch’s words were slow, deliberate like a butcher’s knife skinning a doe.
The lady’s youthful, sneering countenance fell as she stood before the royal.
The chatter within the cavernous throne room quieted, watching the exchange between the Lady of House Draconis and their ruler. The silence stretched, waiting. Two of the most powerful women stared at each other in a power struggle that would end in death or submission.
The sharp line of the noblewoman’s jaw tightened as she lowered herself, eyes blazing with rage.
The royal tsked. “No. In front of me.” Only she saw the twitch in the lady’s left eye.
“Of course, my queen.” She stood and strode up the steps of the dais.
“So, you do know how to do as you're told,” she crooned, quiet enough for only them to hear.
The noblewoman didn’t dare spew the vitriol boiling on her tongue.
“Kneel.”
Again, her eye twitched but she lowered herself at the monarch’s feet.
“Very good.” She leaned back against her throne, basking in the warmth of the impudent woman’s fury. “Now, you’re going to spell every letter of that wonderful speech you just gave on my clit while I listen to the rest of your party’s proposal. If you make me cum, I’ll consider letting you keep your tongue.”
The noblewoman stared at her. “You’re joking.” The queen smiled down at her like a serpent ready to devour her. “I’d love to see you defy me again,” she leered.
Her hands trembled with barely contained ire as she slowly lifted the hem of the monarch’s dress. The white of her garments pooled at her feet and the noblewoman settled into the space between her legs. She stared up at her, snarling.
“If you bite me,” she cooed, “I’ll rip out each of your perfect teeth with my hands.”
Hatred raged behind her eyes as her mouth unceremoniously fell to the soft, sensitive bundle of her nerves before her. She licked and sucked. Plunged her tongue into the depths of her folds. Went fast and slow. Light and hard. None of it phased the queen as she spoke with so much as a hitch in her voice to the nobles who stood awkwardly at the foot of her dais.
When the queen had dismissed the audience from the chamber, the noblewoman’s pace had slowed. Her jaw ached and every swipe of her tongue brought a new wave of discomfort. She shifted restlessly on her knees—the stiffness having turned to pain an hour ago.
“I don’t recall there being so many ‘I hate you’s during your speech.” The queen slid her fingers into the richness of the lady’s hair, dragging her away. She watched the tendril of spit and wetness stretch then snap as the noblewoman grit her teeth. “Seeing as you failed at the simple task I gave you; I now own your tongue.” The malicious lines of her smile grew. “You will service me again. Tonight. Until then, I suggest putting something cold on that sore jaw of yours.”
The queen stood, leaving the woman to seethe, but not before she said, “Next time, less teeth.”

Alberto Fabio Lorenzi, Sophonisbe (Sophonisba). Projet de costume de Worth pour Madame Bartet (Costume design for Madame Bartet in the role of Sophonisba by House of Worth), La Gazette du Bon Ton, 1913.
This project of House of Worth was executed for Mrs. Bartet in the role of Sophonisba. It consists of a large shirt in oriental tulle with a lamé of silver, half covered with an embroidered Indian veil, and a cream coat in an Indian transparent veil. The cabochons are of gold and fine pearls and the belt is a double necklace of orient.
Sophonisba (fl. 203 BC) was a Carthaginian noblewoman who lived during the Second Punic War, and the daughter of Hasdrubal Gisco Gisgonis (son of Gisco). In an act that became legendary, Sophonisba poisoned herself rather than be humiliated in a Roman triumph. (x)

Lady Catherine. Her name means pure. She appears sweet and demure. But that veil she wears is not just physical ... she is hiding a cold, deceitful heart within.
Catherine's a minor character in my story who I created as a hate letter to courtly love 😂 (she traumatized one of my main characters ha).I love her design though, she's so cute.

Inked commission example. What would you pay for something like this? $20? $25? Also, what do you think of the inking style? I’m torn between thin delicate lines or dynamic lines for commissions. This character is so delicate-looking that I actually regret making the lines thicker in some areas. I don’t know if I should charge more for more dynamic lineart, since I’d have to go back over it multiple times to get the right effect. I guess it depends on how difficult it is.
