2. A headcanon you weren't sure about at first but have come to like!

Ooh this one is kinda tough~ I'm generally rather removed from the fandom at large so I actually don't really know of a lot of popular headcanons out there, let alone ones I initially didn't like and came to like~ I really only ever consumed content about Baatar and Kuvira as they're my favorites, and with them I'd either like a headcanon outright, or dislike it outright. I will say, at least in the limited fan content I've consumed, there is a common idea of Baatar having gone to university in Ba Sing Se for a period of time. I've seen at least 3 folks use that in their writings for him, and while it was never something I was "unsure" about, I didn't initially include the idea in my version of him. I don't know who penned that headcanon first but I was always hesitant about being seen as "copying" anyone lol. I do like the idea though, especially with my very codependent versions of Baatar and Kuvira, some time apart like that during their "good years" would be rather interesting, since they have been in each other's lives for most of their lives, Baatar choosing to go where Kuvira can't follow- even for a short period of time, I can see her holding against him for a little while. Especially with her preexisting abandonment issues.

9. A ship that isn't your OTP but you enjoy

Once again I'm pretty singularly invested in Baatar and Kuvira but there are definitely some canon and fan ships that I like! Canon wise I'll always have a soft spot for Bolin and Opal, just because they're cute and I like the potential dynamic it creates with Baatar specifically. A lot of it is pretty contingent on my rewrite versions, but what can I say, I'm a bit of a sucker for puppy love. Lyn and Kya was an early ship I'd see in the fandom that I always was like *Kermit nodding gif* ooh yeah I like that, and I've also seen Lyn and Bumi which I also really like, but I never really delved into fan works of either admittedly. I'll confess that lately the crack ship of Baatar and Zhu Li has been on my mind, but definitely not as a positive ship in any way, more like a mutually waged psychological warfare that they aren't even trying to hide from each other kind. I don't remember what sparked the idea- I'm not usually one for crack ships as I tend to be pretty single-ship through and through, but it's been a fun dynamic to think about, especially the kinds of conversations they'd have.

i can't reply to the post but like huge agree abt sh scar rep in art/fan interpretations. i remember seeing so much discourse abt it in like 2016 over whether it was like glorifying self harm or whatever to just see it casually but like I feel like it def resulted in people not drawing it because they don't want the conversation abt their art to center on their inclusion OR the art is literally so honed in on/makes the scars the entire focal point of the piece. itd be so awesome it'd be so cool just to like see it there without ppl being insane about it bc like it actually would be comforting to just see included

about Kara: Coming from the Eastern, he develops a burning passion for the western culture and becomes a knight adventurer. Due the visions he have been seeing, he decides to unite everybody, he believes their destiny is to enter the dungeons and have the best companionship together. In a way to make the group feel more like a family, he spends all the money on matching clothing (that's why they all have the matsu symbol). He is the one who cooks most of the time.

about Oakso: Not much about him atm. He's the laziest one, but when he gets the determination/motivation or gets pissed he will do his job well (maybe he will slip a lot). The funny one, kinda oblivious.

about Chorolee: The one that most denies their "destiny to be together" with the group, he believes that it isn't possible to be serious. Many times, he is the one who takes the party to the right direction and make them do the right choices, except when he doesn't. He's slowly starting to believe the dreams and have more kindness to the rest.

about Ichiwin: Can heal but also go to combat aswell. Normally, has more empathy to non-humans and demi-humans. Before joining the party he wouldn't be the one to explore dungeons, he would study it from far.

about Jushi: Around his teenhood He escaped from a demihuman trade ship in a gnome town. in that night he end up invading Ichiwin's home, and that´s how those two met. First one to detect danger and attack (dw he is very strong) but can get false alarms and cause confusion. Deep inside we all know he is the most mature out of them all.

about Thodos: Takes vision very seriously, but once he got to know the group he knew he was doomed. Can use healing magic, ancient magic and destructive magic (all for convinience, the easier to end the problems the better) he focus more on healing though. Flees combat constantly. Can help with the cooking and prepare his own meals sometimes.

FUN FACTS: this is DUNMESHI, obv we have to mention the food,,, so uhm, basically they didn't bring much food to the dungeon so Kara has the brilliant idea of eating the monsters in the dungeon lol. Oakso kinds weird but accepts, Chorolee is completly disgusted and complains every time but eats anyway, Ichiwin avoids eating the monsters and prefers eating anything else in the dungeon but if he needs to he wouldn't complaint much. Jushi doesn't really care it just needs to be good, Thodos is as disgusted as chorolee but he really tries to swallow it all.

All their parents look like Dayon.

It’s so good at being comedic and crazy while including episodes that get emotional and having moments that hit close to home (Espically for people that are around the NEETs age. Like there is one episode in season 3 that just…I could relate to it so much)

It’s amazing how it shows the struggles of becoming a normal functioning young adult and leaving behind your childhood while still being funny.

And I love that it’s basically about 6 miserable pathetic misfits that actually have some good sides about them. They may be assholes but they have hearts of gold.

The brothers are such charming and fun characters in their own weird little way. They are oddly relatable too.

Makoto winced at the candid observation that his classmates weren't getting enough to eat. He really needed to hunt more often, especially now that it was so much harder to find things like cranes on campus, but it was also hard to keep his friends from getting loose if he left the room too much. "It seems horrible to thank you for something like this, but...you're right that they do need the food. We just...need to find a way to get more non-human meat for both our classes, and figure out how to keep Akane from getting loose and hunting humans."

"Or we could just let one problem solve the other."

Makoto turned an incredulous look on Nagito, who looked way too calm for what he'd just said. "You don't mean that."

Nagito's gaze was fixed on Makoto's face, and his calm look held for another second before it deteriorated, first into the briefest flash of something like anxiety(?), then into a lighthearted but imploring smile. "Hey, don't look so serious! It was just a random thought. Of course, I agree with you that Akane shouldn't have free rein over the reserve course students. Her appetite is too ambitious. And we don't want human casualties."

"Of course not." Makoto sighed. "I'm sure it's been overwhelming for you. I can barely look at them eating a human being like that, but you don't even flinch. It must be really hard, to have to get used to something like that."

"Hard?" Nagito remembered the fearful face of the last reserve student who had gotten caught in one of his traps, and for the first time in a while, his throat tightened with emotion. He cleared it. "Getting used to it isn't the hard part."

"What is?"

Nagito would have tried to hide his shaking hands in his jacket sleeves, but after months of his classmates biting at his arms and legs, his sleeves had been ripped several inches shorter. "The few moments where I stop being used to it."

Makoto nodded sympathetically. And he slipped his hand into Nagito's.

It wasn't their first time holding hands, and Nagito's starvation for touch had been more than addressed by the aforementioned months of being bitten and clung to and tackled by the undead Ultimates, but he never could take Makoto's affection for granted. Especially now that he felt this unusually acute awareness of all the people he'd fed to his classmates without a second thought.

How worthless he was, to drink in Makoto's sympathy like this when Makoto didn't even know...

"Don't do that," Makoto said sternly. "I know that look. Are you being hard on yourself again?"

"Me?" Nagito said with a big smile. "Never." He tried for positivity and found the bitter, emboldening sludge of his resolve returning to him.

The Ultimates needed food. Makoto was doing his absolute best to provide for his class ethically, and it wasn't enough. Therefore, the Ultimates needed food the unethical way. Makoto...Makoto was too good to do what Nagito was doing, but his class needed food, too. So, Makoto needed Nagito to provide the food for his class, and he needed Nagito to lie about how he obtained it. It was all for the best.

And...if Makoto never found out...If Makoto kept seeing this version of Nagito who he wasn't disgusted to touch...

He tore his gaze away from the excruciating kindness in Makoto's eyes. "Aw, Kaz! You're getting blood on my pants again."

Kazuichi ignored Nagito's complaints, continuing to use his blood-covered mouth to tear away more of the fabric from the leg of his jeans. Most likely to find a new spot to bite.

Headcanons related to board games cuz why not :D (Matsuda x Ide)

(Mostly about Matsuda and Ide but Mogi and Aizawa are also mentioned. Yay, I'm back and I feel like posting. !!SLIGHT N SFW in the end, just skip it if you don't wanna read this <3)

I think Matsuda likes board games because he often played them with his family as a child. At the same time, Ide is not very familiar with them, but he quickly gets the rules and concept of the games.

Matsuda is not good at them but likes playing a lot, no matter how much he loses or wins. Ide beats him a lot but he would try to put it down to beginner's luck. Although he does make comments about Matsuda's impulsivity. Ide would also probably say something like, "Alright, now I know that I'll never let you gamble." after Matsu begged him to keep playing just to win at least once.

Noticing that Matsuda is trying very hard to win, Ide gives up to him in the next rounds. Sometimes he just doesn't draw a +4 uno card on purpose when Matsuda gives him one (so Matsu won't have to pick up 8 cards).  He just takes these cards with no comment and successfully attempts to give Matsuda a chance to win.

On one of the holidays, when the Japanese Task Force decides to get together, Matsu will bring games with him. It will be very difficult for him to convince others to play, but he will manage to. I'm sure Aizawa and Mogi will notice that Ide is doing everything he can to help Matsu win. For instance, he probably tried to whisper a hint for him while they played Scrabble; Ide's vocabulary is very large, which is not surprising since he reads a lot.

Aizawa would probably say that this is cheating, and Mogi quietly chuckled at how Aizawa's sense of justice awakens even during these simple games. Ide will stop helping Matsu instantly, with reluctance.

But in card games, Hideki attempts to do everything to prevent Matsuda from losing. He will keep cards that could make Matsuda's chance to win pretty low. Aizawa would definitely notice this. 

I also believe that Mogi is quite good at card games. I made that conclusion because, well, we've seen him playing card games with Misa, and it seemed to me like he was interested in that!

If Matsuda offers to play Twister with them ugh.. Aizawa and Ide will start complaining about back and neck pain a lot, and they will name 100 reasons not to play it. These two will simply attack Matsuda with these non-stopable complaints.

When they're done, Aizawa and Mogi will chuckle and whisper on the balcony (on the sly from this couple) about how Ide gives up to Matsuda and makes his best efforts to help the younger one win even when they've agreed not to cheat anymore. This is the only time Ide can break discipline. Matsu will overhear this conversation. I think if he asks Ide about this, he will deny his involvement in trying to help him win in card games by keeping ace cards/some powerful uno cards.

Just a bonus-.. (as I said you can skip it!)

If Ide and Matsuda were in a playful mood, the second one would suggest playing strip cards. But soon they both understand that there is no point in this, because if Ide plays honestly, Matsuda will be naked in two rounds. They give up on this idea, and Ide undresses Matsu without wasting his time.

And here, realization finally hits Matsuda. He is now absolutely sure that his boyfriend was losing to him on purpose. He's not sure whether he is offended by this or touched. But, of course, he finds this adorable.

 

Perhaps if Matsuda manages to win against Ide once during the strip cards, the older one will simply take the watches off his wrist. And Matsuda, who is left in just underwear, threw the cards on the floor out of anger & frustration, saying something like: "You should have taken off some of your clothes! Any other items DO NOT count!". But Ide will shrug and say that they did not discuss this when they've settled the rules.

I literally know the feeling of fighting with yourself and your own thoughts and it's truly exhausting, nerve wrecking and draining!! Kuvira can just see on his face when he starts Thinking Too Much and then has to divert his attention lest he be consumed by the horrors of his own thoughts kshsjs Baatar doesn't like being fussed over like he's helpless and she knows that, but she can't help but check on his heart rate often to tell if he's having an anxiety spike or not. Especially when they're in public because it happens. He'll suddenly realize he's just surrounded by people who he can't ever know the intentions of and he'll just start quietly internally panicking and Kuv can't help but pick up his heart rate through the ground and have to go rescue him from himself :')

Like when he was captured and held hostage by Korra and she threatened him with the Avatar state, sure he called her bluff but that has to be the number one fear of any non-bender because what could they possibly do in response to that? He pretty much had his fear of being subjected to the mercy of someone with bending realized- in the worst possible scenario imaginable, and all he could do was try and talk his way out of it. And yeah Korra would have never hurt him in front of his family but he was still humiliated in front of them all the same. He's a champion at masking his feelings on the surface but I can only imagine how heart attack enduring as a non-bender being threatened by the Avatar themselves would be.

He's got so many mental anguishes going on at once, his status as a non-bender, how that has damaged his relationship with his family, his identity crisis, and also how he internalizes how Kuvira has felt outcast and he just reflexively gets angry for her. The man truly needs a mental health intervention because insisting that he can handle it all on his own has not been going as well as he thinks it has ajshsj

I've reoccuringly daydreamed about the scenario where Baatar does start going to therapy and detangling all his cumulative damage and feelings like that's truly what I want for him the most, some mental peace ;;
