“The energy they give off is effervescent, a swirling, intoxicating aurora borealis of grating, glorious entitlement.” • Every once in a while I get a hankering for a gripping psychological thriller. This book is the perfect example of what I look for—a story so creepy and unsettling it makes my skin crawl. I don’t want to give too much away here because it’s my opinion that the less you know going in, the better.

I firmly believe you should listen to the audiobook for the best reading experience. I’m not a big true crime junkie, but the way the podcast fits in to the greater plot was seamless. The ending still has me questioning everything all the way back to the prologue. Needless to say, I’ll be contemplating this one for a while. • E's Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5

i quite literally couldn't put this novel down!

my mind was constantly going on forming then changing opinions about the characters and trying to make predictions about how the plot would unfold. the ambiguous ending especially kept my mind turning. truly not what i was expecting from the title, but now i understand its significance. this was totally a read within my true crime niche.

June reads! A lot of fun books, but I finished the Hunger Games books which was fun. The two thrillers on here were both very good reads but the Lisa Jewell one was especially good! A Dowry of Blood was literally so fun! Full of vampires and queer undertones.

Didn’t read as many queer books as I would’ve liked for pride month, unfortunately. But queer books are for all the time anyways.

i really want to buy an e-reader but idk which one to gettt. i’m considering buying an ipad mini and using that as an e-reader but i think the screens are a little bit different and the battery life is longer on an e-reader so idkkk. i’m so torn between kindle, kobo, and boox.

A Brief Book Review of None Of This Is True by Lisa Jewell. Published as a hardback in the UK on 20th July 2023 by Century , just released ( 29th February 2024) as a paperback published by Penguin in the UK.

A dark psychological thriller covering a tale of two women , Alix and Josie who are "Birthday Twins" , i.e. they were both born on the same day. Podcaster Alix decides to accept Josie's offer to make a podcast on her life and soon finds out that Josie has some dark secrets and has an 'elastic' relationship with the truth. Another great thriller from Lisa Jewell.
