I finished reading Educated by Tara Westover, a memoir that recounts her life in a survivalist Mormon family and her journey to receive an education and the affect that has on her. It is a devastating read. I often found myself cursing aloud at what she was enduring. I think it answers in narrative the questions of why people stay inside situations that are harmful to them, why religious indoctrination is so powerful, and why the truth alone doesn't set people free. I highly recommend.
