Sooo my drag mom is getting me a job at a pretty big drag event (a competition that runs regularly) around here, not like as a performer per se but as part of the pit crew. And I'm having feelings about it?

Basically, the pit crew do stage setup, collect tips, and occasionally perform. And look pretty, ofc. Right now the two pit crew members (only one of whom I know personally) are a drag king and a cis guy (who might do drag IDK, probably does but doesn't like...there at that event usually.) And ofc it's a gay club so like the dude wears little briefs, the drag king usually wears trans tape and briefs and sometimes a harness or smth. And I have nooo issue w nudity for the record, I'd be fine w that, I'm mostly just hesitant abt that bc like. I don't wanna tape every time bc I'm lazy but throwing on a sports bra also feels lazy but I don't feel confident a regular bra is going to stay and not be fussy while I'm running around performing tasks. So I have the typical "what will I wear" dilemma LOL. I could just wear a binder tho TBH. Also I don't have issues w body image whatever bc A. I love my body and B. The event is already rly body diverse so like it's not like I'd stand out like I would being a lil thicker among a bunch of skinny twinks.

So I've covered what I'm NOT worried about. What I am worried about is like...do I deserve this, basically. I JUST started out in drag. It's been less than a year. It feels like cheating, to get a spot in this show even as just pit crew. Because they aren't just nameless stage hands, they get performance spots and promos on the socials and stuff. The one I know (the king) has been performing for like, years. Not to mention the connections, though I guess that's a little moot since I have a lot of the connections already thru my drag mom. She knows a lot of the big names around here and is friends with a lot of them. Like there are two hosts, one is friends with my drag mom and one I'm friends with thru a diff drag thing. But still, a lot of people who work there are like legendary.

And likeee I do also know that that's sort of the point of having a drag parent, they use their connections to get u things. But nepotism feels weird to me. I'm not used to being favored without a catch. And I'm worried my connections might make other people in the community think I like, cheated. What if they automatically think I'm used to just getting things? I feel like that might harbor resentment, but maybe I'm projecting.

I'm going to take the job regardless, mostly because I need the money. It's just wild, I feel like I've been thrown into the deep end with all of this. Like my drag mom has SO much faith in me and genuinely thinks I'll really be able to make it big and I don't? Know where that's coming from. Not that I think I'm not good or can't be good, but because I'm just a beginner. It's like declaring someone a prodigy a week into preschool. Let me prove myself first. But also don't look a gift horse in the mouth I guess.

ok i need to rant again. when i was actually ON THE TRIP almost exactly 4 years ago (again, it was an educational trip organized thru a berlin based socialist youth organization) I literally had NOOO IDEA about palestine, like yeah I have heard the name before sometimes but I thought it existed CENTURIES AGO like no fucking joke I will admit this. in Germany they don’t teach you about this in school or in the media, ESPECIALLY due to germanys history, world war two and the holocaust you carry a sort of blame that’s passed on from generation to generation - it’s only been like 80 years too it might sound long ago but it really isn’t. you think oh israel is the jewish state and it has to be right after all germany did to jewish people, no further questions asked. before i never ever educated myself bc when I got old enough to watch and understand news that did involve Palestine, like in 2k14 i remember Gaza was big on the news with violent images and I was horrified just believing everything i heard and saw i distinctly remember googling where is Gaza bc i saw footage on the news and being scared but downright relieved when i saw its not close to germany (dumb) and I just believed the reports on tv. i didnt really use the internet then as much, i had no social media except Facebook and this blog at that point. Man I was 17 and in high school i didnt care for anything outside my small bubble bc I didn’t have to, being a privileged western child. So fast forward to late 2k19 in the project i was still hanging out at at the time we got the offer for the „israel travel“ and a lot of people wanted to go and I literally just succumbed to peer pressure imma be so honest. Everyone wanted to go so I did too, i didn’t wanna stay home. i just thought ohh i have not flown since 2003 and 300 euros for a two week trip i can actually afford this too for fckn once and there were too many people interested and too little spots so there was a Tombola and my name got drawn so that was literally the reason I went. And i usually pride myself with very good memory and recollection but those two weeks are honestly a BLUR to me like idk if it was the stress and excitement of the traveling itself but i wish i sometimes had listened more carefully, had already known what I know now and been able to ask more questions and watch and listen more closely. we did stay with Arab guest families in tamra for a week of the trip, the other half in Tel Aviv (i got wasted with the hostel staff after having to be freed aka 2 doors kicked down in my room the first evening we were there bc the doorhandle in the bathroom broke i was in trauma and then was mutuals on ig with the hostels chef until 2k21 when israel bombed gaza and there were also rockets from Gaza to Tel Aviv in response and he turned out to be Zionist so I unfollowed then) and then for the last few days we were staying in two air bnbs in jerusalem. We celebrated new years in haifa with a Christian Arab family that invited us. we did visit a kibbutz on New Year’s Day bc someone from our groups grandma was living there since 48 (yep back then i just thought oh wow that’s amazing now I would view this a lot more critically) which also got us an exclusive guide around the kibbutz which was just on the border to lebanon and seeing the bunkers was eerie but I understand it now that I got into the history involving Lebanon too. we visited several museums like ghetto fighters and yad vashem. which dont get me wrong im glad we did, it’s an important part of history. it was a „both side“ experience and I literally didn’t even realize there was a Palestinian side to it then. Like genuinely it wasn’t really made clear how this all came to be Israel. They showed us a map pre-1948 vs. now but how did it get so big i didnt know. What zionists are. What settlements are. What the IDF is (by now let’s just call it IOF) I just remember the second day in Tel Aviv someone told us israel has only existed since 1948 and I was like lol what like baffled how new it actually is. Dude it’s the first time I heard about that.

It was only a few months after the trip that i one day randomly started to read up on the history, like literally starting out on kids websites bc growing up i only ever just heard „it’s complicated“ making it seem like the „middle east conflict“ as they liked to call it was sooo hard to understand and you had to be sooo smart and diplomatic to have an opinion on it. and after reading up suddenly stuff I saw but didn’t question on the trip started to make sense. The huge checkpoint we went through going into jerusalem, our car full of Germans basically being waved right through without any control while i saw other cars being emptied out completely by heavily armed soldiers. We took a teen girl from Tamra to Jerusalem with us bc she liked to come along and then there were problems suddenly with BOTH our air bnb apartments and we asked the staff if we could accommodate our suitcases somewhere and just go explore the old city instead of waiting around blocking the entire lobby. first they said no you have an Arab with you (I didn’t even understand what they meant by that) then came around and let us do it after all at least. Dude she was literally a 15 yr old like 5‘3“ teenage girl. Why one of the guys from our group was detained and questioned at the airport for like 3 hours because he was born in Syria (had a German pass tho but anyway). And when we wanted to travel back the group guide prepped us for questioning and made sure we all had straight answers which I also didn’t understand the reason for - I wasn’t one of the people being asked questions but someone did truthfully tell Airport staff what we did during our stay and that we spent a week with Arab guest families and after that several suitcases SEEM to have been rummaged through (and I know bc I packed mine soooo neatly bc I bought baklava on the market the day before to bring my family and it was smashed like flattened) we did get into a storm when changing flights in Istanbul so idk maybe the suitcases really were just thrown around but for real it wouldn’t surprise me if they did control us after that.

Anyway I posted stories throughout the trip to my ig back then and just went with the first location tag that was suggested to me and looking back now, it’s all „…, israel“ when i was actually on occupied land (tel aviv jaffa haifa akka…) and I HATE IT ☺️ I can’t change it back now obviously. I don’t wanna delete the stories from my highlight tho, even tho it does make me feel kinda guilty, bc i see it as part of my journey. Quite literally. I honestly wish I could teleport back now being more educated about the situation and ask more questions, talk to more Palestinian people (like the guest families). Would I do such a trip again? Not as long as the destination on the ticket is called only israel. I genuinely hope I can visit Palestine again tho someday. But this time for real real.

it rly was very well-kept i gotta say haha. id also imagine it a bit messier. but i loved all the little details, how unguarded she felt walking around, standing in front of her fridge, even forgetting she wasn't alone in the apartment for a second.

the manga has a pacing issue if u ask me. fast isn't always a bad thing, but im my personal opinion there's hardly any downtime in chainsaw man. i always wished we got more moments to kind of relax and appreciate the characters more, especially since its a story that thrives on subtle writing. readers should have the time to dig the subtext out.

i think the anime found a fun way to compensate for that in a way. with this and aki's scenes in episode 4. they didn't really interfere with the story, they just gave us beautiful sequences that made us feel like we know the characters more. plus more time to kind of let things set in, or prepare for what comes next.

A/n: Based on this post from the incredible @laceymorganwrites​ , which i did request lol. Yes it’s a fem reader bc I originally requested it and my feelings went wild reading the HC and i kinda started writing this for myself but it ended in a pure mess and yes i did cut my hair and its a slightly different color too lol.

Warnings: slight Angst, Gojo being an idiot, Crack and dumb at the end

Characters: Gojo x fem!reader 

Your hand rests on the doorknob.

Are you ready for this? No.

Are there any other options than to deal with what will await you? No.

Except the fact to just leave the country with what you have on yourself right now.

But this isn’t really an option.

How bad could it possibly get?

It’s Gojo we’re talking about. He tells you every day how much he loves you.

A few inches less of your hair shouldn’t change anything, right?

Taking a deep breath, a smile forms on your face.

No. It should not change something.

You feel so much better now with shorter hair.

“Babeee, I’m back!” You call out, dropping your bag on the floor, taking off your shoes.

“OHHH LET ME SEE LET ME - Are you for real?” Gojo’s excitement drops the second he lays his eyes on you. Looking at his feet, you slowly place your shoes on the shelf and stand up. His eyes narrow and one of his hands extends towards you. With pointed fingers he takes a stand of your hair in them.

“Uhm... What is this? Didn’t you told me you’d just get your hair colored again?” He raises one of his eyebrows, his lips form into a disgusting smile.

“Yeah, but i talked with my hairdresser, about how unhappy I was with my hair and due to it being already pretty dry and damaged, we decided on a new haircut.” You smile and take a small step back from him.

“But it’s short now.” He stats.

“Well yeah... but I mean, hey I didn’t cut off all my hair, I didn’t do a Britney Spears.” You joke, but quickly your smile drops when you see the look on your boyfriends face.

“Don’t... don’t you like it?” You stutter. Your arms slowly start wrap around your body.

“No. I liked your long hair. And what even is this color?” He asks coldly, while one of his hands moves around pointing at your hair.

“Uhm.. this is just temporarily... it will fade away when I wash it.” You say shyly. Your whole posture sinks, your arms are now tightly wrapped around your body, your eyes fixed on the ground.

“Well you know where the bathroom is. I’ll prepare dinner...” he rolls his eyes and walks away to the kitchen.

Like a kicked puppy you walk towards the bathroom. Your teeth dig into your lower lip, a few more seconds and your sure you’ll be able to taste blood.

Why.

Why did you do that.

Why did you cut your hair shorter.

You knew Gojo’d be the type to like his girlfriend all dolled up, with long soft hair.

Closing the door behind you, you sink down on the floor, pulling your knees towards your chest, arms wrapped around them, you feel the tears slowly roll down your cheeks.

“Hey, I just checked something, getting hair extensions isn’t even that expensive, if you call your hairdresser tomorrow, maybe your back to your beautiful self in two weeks.”

He calls out from the kitchen and you finally reach your breaking point.

The tears stream down your face, your breathing gets as irregular as it can get, your body shakes and your mind keeps racing.

“Baby? Why don’t I hear any water running? Are you actually planning on keeping your hair the way it is now?” He laughs.

Do you keep it that way? Yes. Yes. HELL YES!

On shaking legs you stand up and look into the mirror.

You look good - besides the red already swollen eyes - your hair just compliments your whole facial structure even more now, it makes your skin look healthy. You will keep your hair the way it is.  What would he possibly do. It’s your body after all.

“Yes. Yes I leave it that way.” You say in a shaky voice.

“Well okay, the I’ll be leaving now. I don’t plan to be associate with someone that looks like you now.” He laughs.

Your breath stuck in your throat. He is kidding right. He has to be. He told you he loves you this morning. Clearly this would not change just because of your hair.

With shaking fingers you open the door, “ Very funny, I almost bel-“ You hear the front door slam shut.

No.

No, no no.

Your knees get weak and you sink to the floor, curling into a ball, the tears start to form again.

“Satoru...” you call out softly, before hiding your face in between your knees again.  

He really left you. Why have you been so stupid and agreed on cutting of your hair? You should know that in the saying “ boys like girls with long hair” had to have some tough in it.  Why didn’t you agree to what he said. Why have you been so stupid and actually thought he was messing with you. You know him enough to see that the look in his eyes wasn’t his usual ‘ I’m messing with you’ look.

“Baby?” A soft voice calls out and you feel a large hand on your shoulder.

Glancing up, you see a blurred vision of your boyfriend kneeling in front of you.

“You... You didn’t go?” You stutter in a broken voice.

“I - what no. Baby, I was just joking. I - come here.” He sits down and pulls you into his lap, wrapping his arms around you, pulling you as tight as possible. One of his hands rubs your back while the other gently stokes your head.

“I love you so much, why should I leave you, just because you changed your hair?” He hummus and kisses your head.

“I - You know you could do much better than me.. and I thought that changing my hair wo-“  The hand on your head quickly grabs your chin and his lips gently but firmly press on yours, shutting you off.

“No. I thought we already discussed this.” He looks at you, his blue eyes soft and caring.

“ I - I know, but recently...” you try to explain yourself, but just thinking about all the things going trough your head again, makes you cry again.  In return, your pulled against him again, your face buried in his chest, his head resting on yours.

“ Next time promise me to tell me. I would have never joked about your hair, if I knew your struggling again. “ He wraps himself completely around you, rocking you back and forth, whispering sweet nothings into your hair.

After some time, you finally calmed down again.

“I’m sorry.” You sniff and rub your eyes.

“Nooo - I should be the one apologizing.” He pouts and boops your nose.

“You know how breathtaking you looked when you walked tough the door?! You were literally glowing, I couldn’t believe such a beautiful, gorgeous, incredibly attractive, wonderful, head turning, jaw dropping,-“ He rambles and gets up, lifting you up with him, “- human being is the girl I call my girlfriend.” He smiles down at you and kisses you softly. You start blushing. He’s always so over the top and you don’t even know what you should respond.

“WHAT?!” He gasps, “ YOU STILL DON’T BELIEVE ME?!”

“No, nooo I do!” You laugh.

“Really, I mean it... I - I could ... Oh let me take my razor and cut my hair off!” He says, while pointing a finger into the air, as if he’d just got the best idea ever and runs off into the direction of the bathroom.

“NO- SATORU DONT” you scream and try to catch up with him.

“DO NOT COME NEAR ME! I WILL DO IT!” He says and turns on the razor, holding it near his hair.

“GOJO SATORU DO NOT DO THIS!” You say in between laughs.

“OR WHAT!” He puts the razor nearer to his hair. “ I need to prove to you that I love you!” He whines.

“You know what, yes. Do it.” You say, crossing your arms and smirking at him.

Gojo blinks a few times, but moves the razor nearer and nearer.

As the first few strands of white hair fall too the floor, he turns it off.

“NO I CAN NOT DO IT!” He drops down on his knees and takes the few stands of his hair in his hands. “My hair.. my beautiful hair.” He fake cries.

“You know i love you even though I didn’t cut off my hair?” He looks up at you with puppy eyes.

“ Yes I do.” You lean down and kiss him.

“Good thing you didn’t cut it off.” You laugh and walk back to the kitchen, remembering that it was dinner time.

“What?” He tilts his head and gets up, following you.

“I’d definitely leave you if you did.”

Oh my fucking god I need to talk about them 

And of course, after the read more there’s spoilers (fucking obviously) because I still see people complaining about where to watch s3 so I’m not about to absolutely RUIN someone’s day  LMAo

Episode 4

If you read this post here and this answer to an ask then you already know I talked about Macaque’s shenanigans in this episode and that alone makes me happy since it gives depth to Macaque more then just “I don’t like Wu Kong Fuck y’all lol” 

But also I’m super content that Mei wasn’t a deus ex machina in this episode, in the end it still returned to MK eventually pulling his shit together and getting him and his friends away from Macaque. Imma be honest as soon as Mei pulled out her dragon sword I was like welp ig we’re gonna have a Mei vs Macaque episode and then I’ll be off BUT NOPE

Mei got Macaque to actually bust out his mummy shadow giant thing and Sandy showed off again how fucking awesome he is.

Only after both of his friends at least got a chance to fight Macaque was MK forced to do something, which was hurting Macaque where it hurts o7

Episode 6

I have absolutely no excuse, I just love Red Son especially when he interacts with MK LMAO

Bc like Red Son BACKSTORY- and also Red Son with his hair down is- literally fucking amazing then also spicynoodles food is always appreciated

(MK joking about asking for milk and a blanket and then Red Son actually going to get them HHHH- *wails* he so wholesome RIP)

I literally memorized the whole episode in Chinese since I was using the subbed Chinese version to translate it myself (to test my knowledge of the language and whatnot).

It got taken down on YouTube though and I spent a whole week cursing myself for not downloading it RIP

But pspspspsps if anyone still has s3e6 with only Chinese sub somewhere in their computer could you like- shoot me the link or smth bc I like reading the characters more then reading the English ones sometimes k ty for your service👌

Episode 8

I actually used to feel indifferent about this episode but once my focus drifted not only to Monkie Kid but ALSO to Journey of the West I became super intrested in this one specifically.

Essentially, I really like Macaque character development, in Monkie Kid the show, but after I learned more (read: remembered all the stuff about JTTW after I hyper-fixated on it a few years ago) about Zhu Ba Jie, Tripitaka, and Sandy I was like- Bro these characters kinda banging actually.

So long story short I grew fond of the message in the story and how Tang handles himself.

The scene where everything comes to a head and Tang gives his speech while Pigsy starts singing (OH MY FUCKING GOD PIGSY SINGING THOUGH HOLY SHIT EVERYTIME IT’S LIKE JFC MANS GOT BARS AND HE’S AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND FFFF-) is my favorite, especially since Macaque gets left behind and gets incapacitated by the electricity.

Idk why but having Macaque get held back by that specific reason is like wrapping up a story all nice a neat with a bow y’know? Like it wasn’t ‘Oh noooo, Tang suddenly awoke these strange powers and Macaque was no match for them’ or ‘Ohhh nooo, Macaque let him go because he was moved by Tang’s speech’ (LMAO yeah right).

It was ‘well because of the conduction of electricity through the metal wiring of the lantern when Macaque’s body came in contact with the metal the electricity also flowed through him, not hurting him but instead paralyzing him making Tang able to get away’

I like logical explanations what can I say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

Then of course I can’t forget about...

These actual fucking dumbasses. I love them so much it’s not even funny bro they are so cool and awesome o7

Finally, the honorable mention of an episode that I would count as one of my favorite but just didn't make the cut because it’s the fucking last episode so of course it’d have some shit that makes it better then the rest lmao

I live for Mei and Red Son becoming besties that ask each other about dating advice though *wheeze*

Yeah that small detail made me feel a lot of things lmao, but it’s understandable y’know I just want the best for them and Macaque redemption arc is something that I would love to see o7

No but Vegaspete?!
