Reading in the Darkness 📖🕯

Saw this dress in Pintrest and I very much wanted to draw Ellen in it because I thought she'd look pretty :3 (And right enough she very much does) !!!

I did a lotta experimentation with this piece if Im honest but I think it turned out nicely!

trying to get back into drawing a bit by doodling scene from our current Vampire the Masquerade game

anyway my character is named June and usually i play characters who are very much careful planners, but June is NOT and ive really been enjoying playing someone who doesn’t know a lot and just follows her (somewhat impulsive) gut

On the left is a male nosferatu called Dimitri, holding a phone that is mostly obscured by his long black claws. He wears a tunic, and his right ear and eye are much bigger than his left. On the right is a short brujah woman named June, with short blond hair and dark roots, wearing a loose unzipped hoodie over a layered crop top. Dimitri’s dialog is highlighted in green, whereas June’s is highlighted with purple.

In the first panel, Dimitri looks down at the phone and asks, “Does anyone else know about this?” June looks up at him, head slightly tilted, her arms crossed, and replies, “Just Sally.” Dimitri says, “Did she tell anyone?” June says, “Not as far as I know.”

In the next panel, June looks away, one hand now raised in a noncommittal half shrug, and she continues, “I don’t know, she might have, I’m not her keeper.” Dimitri, still absorbed in the phone, says, “Good, good…”

In the third panel, what June said fully sinks in and Dimitri looks up from the phone to June. He says, “…You do know the point of that story was he should have been his brother’s keeper, right?” The word “should” is underlined. June’s posture has relaxed a little as she looks back to Dimitri, listening.

In the fourth and final panel, June’s arms have fallen somewhat as she looks at Dimitri blankly and says, “What story?” Dimitri deflates with a sigh.

Understandable if you don't appreciate Batman Returns as a comic book adaptation, but it's at least the best Vampire: The Masquerade film Tim Burton's ever made.
