a/n: i know this actually so random but OMG i am actually in love with kate so bad it's not even funny. also, who doesn't love a good forbidden wlw regency romance?
Tumblr media
Just thinking about the reason why Kate is a spinster is because of her unknowingly having a preference for women.
She prides herself in her spinsterhood and yet when she meets you at Lady Danbury's soiree she is completely and utterly infatuated with you.
She can't get herself to focus on finding Edwina a husband when all she can do is continually throw glances your way. Of course she's heard about you, you were a spinster as well, and one thing that Kate has learned about the ton is that they like to talk.
She finds herself gravitating to where you stand over time, and though her face doesn't show it, there's a twisting feeling in her gut, like she knows she is doing something wrong.
Since when was seeking female companionship inappropriate?
The two of you hit it off ridiculously fast, double-sided praises bouncing off one another. to an outsider looking in, if Kate was a man, they could definitely tell there's courting afoot.
You soon find yourself visiting Lady Danbury's home often, disappearing off to her room to talk about anything and everything under the sun. There was secret, bashful pinkie holding - a slip of the hand and they're overlapping; when you interlock arms as you go in town, her grip on you is a little bit tighter.
All comes to a head when you go out horseback riding together; a friendly - intimately fueled - fire sparks under the two of you and when you reach the finish line, you hop off of your horse with an adrenaline stricken look on your face.
You look gorgeous; your hair wind whipped and tousled out of place, your skin shining with just a tiny bit of sweat, and your chest rising and falling slightly.
It was all too much for her, and there was something about the two of you being alone out in the woods. It made her feel... safe, like her growing affections for you weren't abnormal, that whatever she did next would be kept secret under the blossoming leaves on the trees.
She approaches you - hesitantly - her hand rising to cup your cheek with a certain gentleness that leaves you breathless.
She gazes into your eyes, searching, begging for you to give her an initiative to stop. All you can do is allow your gaze to drop to her own lips, where you boldly surge forward.
Your breath mingles for a moment before your lips finally lock, and when they do all of a sudden everything you've ever thought and felt made sense. In this moment it was just Kate and you and that was a feeling you know you would hold onto desperately forever.
Kate was gentle in the way she held you, your face cradled between her soft hands and yours planted on her shoulders.
The world was silent around you, and you found yourself grateful for your spinsterhood.

I know the scene won't make it to the final draft of the second to last chapter of gaslight gatekeep girlboss without a lot of editing but here's a snipet of the rough draft of the dialogue of Kate getting in Colin's face about his feelings for Penelope.
(Aka how I think RMB would have gone if Colin had looked to Kate for love advice instead of Daphne)
Kate: After all this, you still keep saying that she's just a friend?
Colin: yes she is my friend, the best of friends I want her to be happy
Kate: my brother in the force! to use the words of Sophie's favorite poet lady Camilla Cabello You say you're just friends, But friends don't know the way you taste!
Colin: how exactly did you... actually no I really don't want to know
Kate: look little globetrotting man child I am getting sick of your crap! I've got worse problems to worry about than your inability to commit, so you say you're just friends with Penelope fine, I'll find her a husband within the week! Don't think I won't
Colin *gasps in manchild*: you wouldn't
Kate: Try me !
Colin: Penelope doesn't want to get married
Kate: of course she does furthermore it's going to be way easier than getting Edwina a husband. Edy wants a marriage of love, but Penelope, she just wants to get it over with and marry any friendly gentleman who she wouldn't mind having babies with .... And that's like half the men I know
Colin: now I understand why Anthony wants to kill you half the time, you're evil incarnate. I demand you stop matchmaking my wi... friend
Kate: all I'm saying is that I've got options for Penelope if you continue to be an idiot, you know the Earl of Essex is 50 but he's not that old looking for her, she could have a baby or two and be a happy widow in 10 years
Colin: Kate stop talking, this is ridiculous, I'm going to call Anthony
Kate *ignoring him*: Then there's the Count of Savoy, his estate is a little far from England but he'd treat Penelope with respect and if she's lucky she'd only have to sleep with him 3 times a year.
Colin *visibly more enraged* : you are NOT introducing Penelope to a French rake, especially one known for having 5 Mistresses
Kate: hey don't badmouth Francois, His ex wife ran off with a Russian pirate, I think he would be happy to have a nice wife like Penelope after what Madeleine put him trough
Colin *seriously losing it* : ANTHONY BRIDGERTON COME GET YOUR WIFE BEFORE I MURDER HER
Kate: ....
Kate: .......
Kate : such an infant

Also Charithra is there! Which of your AU Sharma sisters are attending the red carpet?
Tumblr media
Simone. Pls.
She’s so pretty.
But okay, secret dating actors au. Edwina and Kate arrived together, and Anthony’s skulking off somewhere to the side. Definitely not, looking at his girlfriend. They’re polite costars. But, polite costars can call out to one another, surely. Polite costars can nudgey-nudge siblings out of the way.
“Oh ho ho!” Anthony called out loudly enough to catch the attention of everyone around them. He saw Kate’s shoulders stiffen a little and he heard the reporters holding their breaths as Kate cut off her sentence, turning towards him. “There’s my Movie Wifey!”
“Jesus fucking Christ.” Edwina muttered as Anthony jogged over.
He kissed her cheek first, “Edwina, looking lovely, no Josie tonight?”
As if he didn’t know her girlfriend was filming the same project as him.
“She’s busy. Like I suspect you should be.”
Anthony grinned, winking at the camera, “They let me out for good behaviour.” He turned, to Kate, his chest a little tight as he took her in, “Kate, good to see you. You look beautiful.”
She smiled affectionately but rolled her eyes as though they were only pretending. “Anthony, charming as ever.”
He pointed at her dress and then at his white brocade jacket, “Your stylist stealing tips from mine again hey? We match?”
Kate drew him in for what would look like a friendly hug, a peck on the cheek but she turned her head at the last moment and her lips brushed his ear softly. “You’re being a naughty boy.”
“Oh come on, you like it when I’m a naughty boy.”

A Friendly Game | B.Bridgerton
Tumblr media
Summary: You join the Bridgerton's for a little game of Mall Pall.
Warnings: None
A/N: I'm not very fluent on how things worked back then so please bear with me. If you have any information that would help feel free to message me thank you. Y/PN means basically how you want to be addressed
_____________________________________________________________
Benedict did not go into this season expecting to be courting someone but alas he did. From the moment he saw you at the presentation of the queen he knew you were the one. So when not one but two Bridgerton boys took to the dance floor everyone was shocked.
It had been a few weeks into the season and you had many suitors but the only one that had really peaked your interest was Benedict Bridgerton. So when he invited you to Aubrey hall for the weekend you were ecstatic.
"letter for Y/N" you get up from the couch "who is it from?" you little sister asks leaning over your shoulder.
Dear Y/n,
It would me my upmost pleasure if you and your mother would join my family and I in the country for the weekend.
-Benedict Bridgerton
You smiled "oh mother we must go" your mother smiled at you "if you wish my dear." You ran up to your room and wrote a response right away.
So when the weekend came and you were on your way to the country. The carriage came to a stop you looked out the window and you saw the most beautiful house "woah" you made your way out if the carriage as the Bridgerton's came to greet you. "Lady Y/LN" Mrs Bridgerton said coming over to greet your mother. "This is Y/PN Y/N" you smile as you curtsey she gives you the brightest smile. You step away and admire the house. It had such beautiful architecture. "Ah, Y/N" you look over and see Benedict approaching you "good afternoon Mr Bridgerton. Your house is beautiful" "thank you shall we" he says and you take his arm as he leads you in. You met the rest of his family as well as the Sharma's who would be joining you guys.
You took a tour of Aubrey hall and as you had guessed it was just as beautiful on the inside as out.
All of you stood around mallets as Anthony explained the game. You loved Pall Mall you played it with your siblings back home, and just like the Bridgerton's you all were very competitive.
"Last year we promised to let the youngest pick first" Eloise complained. "we pick based on alphabetical order" Anthony said which you thought was ironic since the siblings were named in alphabetical order. While everyone was talking you watched Benedict the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled the wind flapping his hair a bit. "Y/PN Y/N" your thoughts were interrupted. "I'm sorry what did you say" "it's just your turn to pick" you nod and grabbed the yellow mallet. After you grabbed yours everyone went for theirs making you chuckle as they all fought to get one.
You kept up really well with the others making sure to nock Benedict out a few times. You watched as Anthony missed yet another shot and got frustrated "he doesn't like to lose does he" Benedict smirked "no he does not but the whole family is competitive" you smile "reminds me of a family I know" Benedict turned to you confused "My family is just as competitive" you say walking away to your ball but not before sending him a wink as you hit his ball into the bushes making everyone ooo. "Now that wasn't very fair" Benedict joked "well I have learned from my siblings you play dirty or not at all" "that would also be the fact here" Daphne says as Benedict went to get his ball.
You smirk seeing Benedict come from the trees covered in leaves. "It seems you have a bit of a problem" you say pulling a leaf from his coat. "it seems I do and possibly you can help me with that" you gasp "Mr Bridgerton" "What" he says walking off with a smirk. The game went on a little while later Miss Edwina cut out and joined the mothers Anthony was going to go with her but she stopped him.
After a bit of mall pall you all went in to freshen up as well as have dinner. At dinner Benedict was acting very strange he even knocked over a cup of wine it was as if he was drunk. "Is your Brother ok?" you ask Eloise "which one?" "Benedict he is acting very strange" she smirked "well I think he's nervous he's very smitten with you Y/PN Y/N" you blush at that and go back to eating.
Benedict didn't propose until you guys were back in London. He did it the next night at the ball you said yes. Even after the whole sandal with Anthony and then Eloise you two had a beautiful wedding.

Bridgerton Filming Spoilers
One of the most promising spoilers we've had is that Eloise seems to be going away with Fran and John at the end of the season. I have no particular wish for Eloise and Penelope to be reconciled, and certainly not as BFFs (El you can do better), and while some civility is inevitable, if Eloise is going away at the end of the season, at least there's going to be some distance between them in one way or another. Any suggestion that Eloise won't be stuck with Penelope, at least for a time, is welcome.
Less welcome is Eloise and Penelope being described as the second love story in the series (God, if that's love whatever it is Pen has for Eloise, who needs enemies.) Then again, they said that about Kate and Edwina, and while they were friendly at the end, it doesn't seem they're going to be spending much time together in future.
Anyway, long story short, ditch her Eloise. Run as fast as you can. You don't want a friend like that.

Little sisters Edwina, Posy, and Felicity terrorizing their older sister's stalker lover (aka the ABC brothers) is such a funny concept to me especially when I'm imagining actual little girls who probably don't even reach past the brothers' shoulders and haven't gone through puberty yet successfully bullying and cockblocking ABC like it's their sole reason to live. Then the BridgertonBros are tearing their hairs out because they are LOSING to a bunch of little girls. And the funniest part of this to me would be if Kate, Sophie, and Pen are slightly oblivious to all of the chaos and warring behind their backs like they know their little sisters are menaces to society but they are absolute angels who thrive in their older sister's affections so they couldn't be that bad, right??? And absolutely do NOT believe a word those horny Bridgerton men are saying about their precious little sisters.
Pfft this makes me think of an AU of where the Sharmas came to London early because they can't wait for Edwina to come to age to debute so Kate is trying to find a good match for her family. In an attempt to keep the Penwood estate in the Gunningworth family, Richard legitimized Sophie as the heiress, so now she's looking for a match in London too. Penelope was debuted early at 17 despite asking her mama to wait another year.
Anthony and Benedict are trying their damn best to woo Kate and Sophie at the balls. Unfortunately for Anthony, his reputation as a rake is coming back to bite him in the ass as is his duty as head of the family with Simon and Daphne coming up with this fake courtship scheme.
Benedict needs a better strategy than following Sophie around like a lost puppy. She thinks he's lonely, and since she actually knows his name without confusing him for one of his brothers, he's coming to her for a friendly chat.
Colin is sitting back, laughing at his brothers as he throws in his own matchmaking scheme or two. He may also be sticking to Penelope's side like glue claiming he wants to spend these dreadful balls with a friend when in reality he's claiming Penelope for himself while trying to plan how to best court her so there's no way she says no.
Enter 17 year olds Edwina and Posy, and 10 year old Felicity. All of whom are protective of their big sisters, and believe their sisters deserve better than some horny Bridgerton. Look at them! Those Bridgertons stare at their sisters like they're gonna eat them! They're not gonna take their sisters away!
Edwina believes her big sister deserves a love match, and no Capitol R rake is gonna give that to Kate! Kate may say she's looking for a marriage of convenience, but Edwina knows Kate is a romantic underneath. If only she were a year older so she may debute as well and she could truly see how these so called gentlemen act when they think no one is watching at the balls instead of only seeing them in their drawing room. One more year, Edwina tells herself. She has to convince Kate that she can help take part of the responsibilities of finding an advantageous match that way Kate does not choose the most advantageous of her current suitors. Which sadly for Edwina is that damn Bridgerton rake.
Posy also wishes she was another year older. That way, she could be at Sophie's side during balls. During their lifetime, Posy truly believes Sophie is the only one who truly loves her, and Posy loves Sophie more than anyone else in the whole world. She knows Sophie has lived an unfair life and Posy is determined to make sure the rest of her sister's life is filled with love. That starts by having her find a love match. Something she believes the bohemian Bridgerton would not be able to do. Love at first sight Posy's ass, that man is just horny!
Felicity has believed Colin to be a wolf in sheep's clothing for years, just waiting for her beloved sister to debute. Sadly, their families are too entangled with their mothers' friendship, Penelope's friendship with Eloise and Colin, and Felicity's own friendship with Hyacinth. There's no way Colin and Penelope wouldn't have interacted with one another. But it has also worked in Felicity's favor with their families being so entertwined. No one questions seeing one another in the other's house, and Bridgertons' prank wars have also definitely helped Felicity stop that horny Bridgerton's plan more than once. Colin is too fickle. He'll get bored and run off to some other country. Felicity will not stand to see her sister ignored by a husband after she has been ignored the majority of her life.
Edwina and Posy, who have become friends with Penelope and Eloise, also use the Bridgertons sibling rivalry to their advantage. Eloise loves messing with her brothers, so she's down for Edwina's and Posy's schemes.
At some point after Anthony, Benedict, and Colin ask for the parents' approval, they have to face the little sisters for their approval, too.

As a prompt, what would your take be on Anthony visiting Kate at Danbury House for the first time after they’re engaged? How does he treat calling on the woman he’s completely in love with differently than before?
As I don't have time to write a fic, I'll just give my opinion.
When Anthony was visiting to see Edwina and was determined to get her attention and affection, it wasn't because he was overcome with desire. Far from it - it was just a box to tick for the continuation of his legacy without the risk of emotionally compromising himself. So he was always polite and friendly but eager and giddy? Goodness no! He has no qualms with the constant chaperoning because nothing was ever at risk of happening anyway. The presents he provided were expensive and completely thoughtless. If something cost a lot, it made up for his total lack of knowledge as to what Miss Edwina would like.
When he visits Kate, he's practically knocking on the door before they've had breakfast due to his eagerness to see his betrothed. He says polite and proper words in his greeting of Kate but his eyes are anything but proper. He stands close to her and doesn't look away from her unless forced (he's spent far too long avoiding looking at her too much that now he's going to bask in the freedom of loving her openly). He brings her gifts like a new riding cloak and new gloves because he noticed her other pair are starting to lose their stitching. And when he has to take his leave, Lady Danbury gives a startled "Lord Bridgerton!" When he can't resist giving Kate a kiss on the cheek which leaves her with hot cheeks but looking like she is doing everything to not smile.
Anthony merely says to Lady Danbury: "What? What are you going to do? Make us get married even quicker? I'm game if she is." And saunters out whistling.

Bridgerton Couples on Love Island
For @sophiebernadotte 😘
Kanthony: Anthony would be one of the OG islanders and pair up with Siena. They would have a tumultuous relationship as their differences outweighed the attraction they have for each other, and eventually she’d pair up with someone else leaving Anthony to kiss and flirt his way through the other girls in the villa; and then cue the arrival of bombshell sisters Kate and Edwina. All the boys are immediately drawn to the younger sister though Anthony finds himself far more drawn to Kate and can’t seem to understand why no one else is seeing what he’s seeing in her. They flirt playfully for all of 12 hours until the islanders are playing a challenge of reading out quotes that have been said in the villa and guessing who said them; and Anthony’s bullish requirements of what he expects from a woman are read out, leaving Kate pissed. They have a massive argument about it and she keeps his distance from him, much to his chagrin. To get back at her for showing him up in front of everyone, however, he decides to pair up with Edwina at the next recoupling. Edwina’s not particularly interested in him, having been more into Lumley, but she decides to give him a chance at least, much to her sister’s horror. When Anthony and Edwina go on a date it becomes painfully obvious just how dead their conversations are and that there is no real attraction between them - but it doesn’t stop Anthony winding up Kate by boasting how good their date went. The TV audience would live for the passion-fuelled arguments the pair get into and how they both live to torment the other. It’s only during Casa Amor when the girls are away that Anthony realises he has 0 interest in any of the new girls and decides to stick with Edwina during the recoupling. Edwina returns to the villa with Matty Bagwell but Anthony isn’t actually that bothered by this - no, he’s far more bothered when Kate returns to the villa with Thomas Dorset - and it’s only then that he finally recognises that Kate’s been the one for him all along. As one of the only single people in the villa, Anthony gets the chance to take an islander of his choice on a date; and naturally he picks Kate, which comes as a shock to no one else but Kate. During the date Kate’s defences fall as Anthony opens up and shows her a more sensitive side than what he’s shown so far and she realises he’s far softer than she ever thought him capable to be. Back at the villa they spend more and more time together, sniping far less without losing their love for teasing one another, and then at the next recoupling Kate chooses to recouple with him over Thomas. As soon as they’re in a couple they’re kissing and cuddling and full on making out all across the villa, but what drives the TV audience wild is during the talent show when Kate is giving an absolutely horrendous flute performance, the camera pans to Anthony gazing at her with complete adoration. People would be tweeting “oh so he’s in love love” and then that night they get picked to go to the Hideaway and well, let’s just saying Kate plays with another flute that night...
Benophie: Benedict would initially be paired up with Gen and while the pair have good fun and banter, they both acknowledge that the spark they’re looking for just isn’t there. He next couples up with Tessa but again, while the sexual chemistry is there, there’s still something missing and once more the pair end things on friendly terms. Benedict would be the islander everyone at home is rooting for, wanting the perfect girl to walk in for him (but he’s not cringe or disappointing a la Dr Alex or Hugo lmao). At the next recoupling he’s the only boy not picked and he’s fully expecting to get dumped until he gets a text telling him Sophie is waiting just outside of the villa for their date; and when he arrives and sees her, he knows all at once that she’s what he’s been waiting for. The conversation flows, they’re both giddy around each other and just from that one date the audience want them to win. During the next few days some of the guys try chatting to Sophie but all she sees is Benedict and they’re practically attached at the hip, trading kisses and playing with each other’s hands. When the recoupling comes, Benedict has no hesitation who he’s going to pick - but he’s left in turmoil when Phillip Cavender gets to pick first and throws a cat among the pigeons by coupling up with Sophie. Everyone is left shook and Benedict has no choice but to be saddled with Prudence in a couple, but luckily his bed is right next to Sophie’s and they hold each other’s hand when they go to sleep. During the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge, Sophie makes it clear that not only is she not interested in Cavender but she’s repulsed by him and pies him with a lot of force, before breaking the rules and opting to marry and snog Benedict just to prove a point. During Casa Amor Benedict sleeps in the day bed along with Hugh Woodson, unable to stand the thought of sharing a bed with anyone but Sophie, and he’d make the audience’s hearts melt when he professes “I miss her” to Hugh. He spends the entirety of their stay at Casa Amor pouting and moping, and whenever any of the new girls try chatting to him all he can talk about is Sophie and how much he likes her. When he returns to the main villa, he’s hopeful that she hasn’t found anyone else, and he wells up as soon as he sees that she’s stood by herself waiting for him. He doesn’t even bother talking to the host, running past her to catch Sophie in his arms and kiss her passionately. That night in bed when everyone else is asleep Benedict asks her to be his girlfriend and she happily accepts, and then, without any fanfare, he tells her he loves her and she returns the sentiment, and the pair kiss before falling asleep in each other’s arms.
Polin: Colin arrives as a bombshell and is immediately taken with Marina. They couple up but it takes a while for him to realise that he’s far more into her than she is into him, as she’s still not over George Crane, who she had a falling out with prior to Colin’s arrival. Though disheartened, Colin steps aside for them to get back together. He spends the next few weeks charming his way into other couples and entertaining the audience with his quips and his talking heads in the Beach Hut, but he doesn’t find a girl who he truly clicks with - at least, that’s what the audience think. Behind the scenes, Colin has grown a fondness for Penelope, the crew member who runs the Beach Hut and who will prompt the contestants if needed. Colin finds himself preferring her company over the rest of the islanders and will spend a couple of hours at a time holed up in the Beach Hut just to entertain her and even get her to forget her job and chat away with him. Soon the best part of his day is spending time with her and he makes multiple trips to the Beach Hut just to see her. It’s not until one day that it’s brought to Penelope’s attention by the mic guy that one of the other contestants, Fife, had been teasing Colin about his constant trips to the Beach Hut and inferring that Colin was crushing on Penelope, when Colin had scoffed that he was far from interested in the red-headed crew member. Having fallen for him, Penelope is devastated and swaps duties with someone else, no longer able to be around Colin. None the wiser, Colin is crushed when he next traipses to the Beach Hut and finds the grumpy middle aged Varley in charge of asking questions instead of his Pen. During his time at Casa Amor surrounded by the new girls desperate to vie for his attention, Colin finds himself bored and uninterested, comparing all of them to Penelope; and only then does it hit him that it’s Penelope he’s in love with. Back at the main villa he holes himself up in the Beach Hut and refuses to leave until he can see Penelope, who eventually storms in with a face like thunder and berates him for causing problems for production. Left alone in the small room, Penelope brings up what she heard him say to Fife and how it hurt her to hear him be so dismissive of her. He apologises and assures her he only said it to stop Fife pestering him and then floors her by telling her he’s in love with her. She tries to dismiss him, telling him the heat must have got to him and that the other islanders are much more his type, but he proves his sincerity by kissing her, and playfully tells her he won’t stop kissing her until she believes him. Penelope teases him by saying she doesn’t quite believe him and so he continues to kiss her and kiss her and eventually the rest of the production crew are confused why it’s taking so long for Penelope to sort the contestant out - until they all hear guttural moaning from the locked room. Penelope gets fired but she doesn’t mourn her job loss for long as Colin declares he’s leaving the villa to be with her, and the pair continue their summer holidaying around the Mediterranean. The audience have no idea what really went on or why Colin suddenly decided to leave until he posts a video on his Youtube channel a year later where he introduces Penelope and they share their story with the public - naturally, the viewers lose their shit but are so happy that Colin found the right woman for him.
Saphne: By some terrible misfortune, Daphne is forced into a couple with Nigel Berbrooke after everyone else is partnered up on the first day; but then that evening Simon enters the villa as the bombshell and without even chatting with any of the girls, steals Daphne to couple up. There’s a bit of drama with Nigel insisting just because Daphne’s now coupled up with Simon doesn’t mean she can’t still get to know him, but Simon points out that Daphne’s got to actually want to get to know Nigel. Despite finding him a bit up himself (and vice versa), Daphne sticks with Simon when she gets to pick at the next recoupling, each of them finding solace by having the other as a safety net. Every new guy who comes in shows interest in Daphne and while she humours them, she keeps finding herself coming back to Simon to laugh and chat with. They insist they’re just a friendship couple but the TV audience know better, and it isn’t until they kiss in a challenge that they both realise there’s something more there. They get closer and become more romantic but Simon’s insecurities get the better of him and he pushes her way. She ends up being comforted by the newest bombshell, Friedrich, and chooses to couple up with him (despite the fact Cressida had opined she intended to couple up with him). It’s only seeing Daphne with another guy that Simon grows jealous and realises he likes her far more than he was letting himself believe. The tension between them is still there and it’s not until a sneaky kiss on the terrace that Cressida sees and goes around telling everyone about that they decide to get back together. Just before Casa Amor, however, Daphne mentions wanting to have children one day, which leads to Simon breaking the news to her that he doesn’t. It’s a massive deal-breaker and they end things before he leaves for Casa Amor. During their time away, neither one meets anyone who they’re as into, and despite parting ways they both remain single at the end of the week. They stay in their couple but before they do anything they have a deep conversation with Simon opening up about his fears of becoming just like his father, but telling Daphne he loves her so much that he wants to work on his issues in order to be with her and one day be in a position to also want kids; if she’s willing to be patient with him. Daphne assures him she is, telling him she loves him too, and they reunite. Then during the baby challenge Daphne enjoys spending the day seeing after Augie, but what she enjoys most is seeing how focused Simon is at the task at hand. In spite of his parental anxieties, Simon takes the role very seriously and takes great care with his plastic fake son so much so that they’re named the winners of the challenge and thus giving Simon the confidence that he will one day make a great father.
Philloise: Love Island is absolutely not a show Eloise ever expected to find herself on but she’s not there to find love; she’s there for the £50k and to take down as many brainless chauvinists as she possibly can. Her nose is constantly scrunched up with the lines and air-headed things her fellow contestants say and she’s not afraid to put any man in his place should he upset one of the other girls. Eloise makes for TV gold as she always has something to say and doesn’t take shit from anyone and she quickly becomes a fan favourite despite falling out of favour with the majority of the boys. The only guy in the villa who gets on with her, finds her amusing, and chooses to couple up with on a friendship basis is Theo. They get along well as he’s the only guy who can meet her on an intellectual level and in Eloise’s head she reckons they can make it to the final and even secure the bag. There’s just one hitch - Eloise makes the shocking discovery that she’s caught feelings for him. She tries to play it cool and doesn’t give him any reason to think she sees him as anything more than friends but she admits in the Beach Hut that she really enjoys kissing him in tasks and challenges. Theo notices she’s gone unusually quiet in recent days and finally she admits she might kinda like him and he admits he might kinda like her too and they decide to give their romance a go. They get on well for a couple of weeks and then Casa Amor happens. Eloise has no interest in any other guy and is confident that Theo will feel the same with the new girls - but when she walks back into the main villa, her hopes shatter when she sees him stood by the fire pit with another girl. When she tries talking to him to try and understand what he sees in this new girl that he doesn’t see in her, Theo turns on her and throws a bunch of stuff in her face and saying he dislikes the qualities that he had once told her he really liked about her (please envision this as the Michael vs. Amber “ya chaldish!” argument lmao). Eloise is anguished by how harshly she’s being treated by a guy she thought she could trust and the audience are sad to see her curl in on herself and be a little less fiery and talkative than she’s known to be. It’s not until a week later that Eloise finds herself left alone at the fire pit following a recoupling and expects to leave the villa with nothing more than heartache when to everyone’s surprise she receives a text to inform her she’s now coupled up with Phillip, who then enters and upon reaching her receives a text informing them they’re going to go and have their first date. Eloise can’t quite believe it as she and Phillip go on a stargazing date and what shocks her even more is that he’s nothing like any other guy she’s ever met. He’s sweet, tender-hearted, and knowledgeable, and wants to know all about her and she keeps waiting for the other shoe to drop, for his facade to slip but it never does. She does query what a guy like him is doing on the show and she’s blown away when he tells her that once he saw her on the TV, he just knew he had to meet her and that to him, she’s the perfect woman. Eloise is stunned by such an admission but then shocks herself when she surges forward and kisses him and discovers all the kisses she had with Theo pale in comparison to this kiss with Phillip. Back at the villa Eloise tries to steady her hopes, thinking Phillip will want to at least get to know some of the other girls but he only has eyes for her and tells her that he came to the villa just for her. The audience is thrilled to see Eloise back to her old self but now all loved up and radiant with happiness with Phillip. Then one night Phillip is with some of the guys when one of them asks; “how’s the taming of the shrew coming along?” Phillip, though clearly rattled, doesn’t raise his voice but firmly puts the guy in his place, telling him to have some respect for Eloise and that there is nothing he would wish to change about her. Eloise is none the wiser about this interaction but in defending her honour he wins over the trust of the public. And then, when Eloise and Phillip do make it to the final and win and he ends up picking the envelope with the £50k, the host has barely finished asking the question when Phillip says he wants to share the money and hopefully the rest of his life with Eloise.
Franchel: Cousins John and Michael enter the villa as bombshells and turn all of the girls’ heads. They each get to pick three girls to have dates with, with each girl preparing a course, and the girl who gets picked by both of them is Francesca. Michael had his eye on her as soon as he entered and he shares a dessert with her after she’s had mains with John. When it comes to the recoupling, Michael hasn’t discussed with John that he wants to couple up with Francesca, seeing as John has been getting on with all of the girls, so he’s thrown when John picks first and chooses Francesca for himself. Michael really has no one else but himself to blame for not making his feelings known to his cousin but he decides to right this by having a conversation with John where he plans to ask if he can still get to know Francesca. However, when they go for a chat, John is so delighted to be coupled up with her that Michael doesn’t have the heart to make his own feelings known and instead decides not to tread on his cousin’s toes. John and Francesca are one of the steadiest couples in the villa, meanwhile Michael goes from woman to woman, having fun and getting embroiled in drama without hurting any of the other girls feelings; but all the while he knows his heart is with Francesca. His cousin and Francesca welcome him quite happily as a third wheel and the trio are always hanging around together, though it doesn’t escape the audience’s notice that Michael is drawn to his cousin’s partner just in the way he looks at her longingly. It’s only after a couple of different challenges that John becomes aware of his cousin’s feelings. During the Twitter challenge, a tweet is read out insinuating that Michael and Francesca would make for a better pairing and that Michael can’t settle because his cousin is with the girl he really wants to be with. Things become awkward between the trio though what was revealed is never discussed, however the suggestion that Michael likes her makes Francesca start thinking about him in a new light. Then, during the heart rate challenge, Michael dominates by spiking all of the girls heart rate, including Francesca’s, meanwhile Francesca is the person who spikes Michael’s heart rate the most, and everyone sees how close the pair come to actually kissing when she was dancing up on him. John takes all of this into consideration and then asks Francesca if she has any feelings for Michael. Francesca is tearful when she admits that there might be something there but she doesn’t want to come between the cousins who are as close as brothers. John then has a word with Michael, finally asking him if he wants Francesca, and his cousin wearily confesses that he liked her straightaway but never wanted to get in John’s way and just wants him to be happy. John mulls everything over before convening with both of them on the terrace and announcing he’s going to leave the villa - and that he wants Michael and Francesca to give things a go. They both try to argue with him, telling him he doesn’t have to leave and Michael even offers to leave instead, but John insists; he can now see just how much Francesca and his cousin mean to each other and knows they can make each other happier. He holds no ill will against them and really just wants what’s best, telling them it’ll be worth it if they do end up falling in love, and he’s sure he’ll find someone else. After a teary goodbye Michael and Francesca recouple together and though initially hesitant of moving too quickly after John’s departure, the heat is ignited between them when they share a kiss. Some of the other islanders voice their opinion that they think Michael just wanted what he couldn’t have but he barely notices anyone else but Francesca once they get together. They then go on to prove the naysayers wrong as Michael remains faithful and devoted to Francesca and Francesca alone (and rumour has it their night in the Hideaway was one of the most explicit visits of all time).
Grucy: Lucy rolls her eyes when the newest bombshell, Gregory, makes a beeline to her best friend Hermione, after every other guy in the villa has done the exact same thing. Just as she’s done before, Hermione humours Gregory’s advances but Lucy knows her heart’s not in it (and she knows of Hermione’s secret boyfriend on the outside - her friend is only on the show for a Boohoo/Pretty Little Thing fashion deal). Gregory does try something new in comparison to the other guys; he seeks out Lucy’s advice and opinion on how to get Hermione to like him. Lucy is surprised and tries to tell him that if Hermione’s feeling it then he’ll know but he keeps going to Lucy for more tips. Lucy feels awful, knowing his efforts will be futile considering Hermione is besotted with her boyfriend on the outside world, but she does think Gregory’s far better than Sam Edmonds, and so she decides to try her best to help him. She talks him up to Hermione and always invites him to sit with them and chat, before excusing herself to give them some time alone (even if it means having to put up with Neville Berbrooke’s flirtatious advances). Little by little, Hermione does seem to be growing fond of Gregory, and as happy as she is with the success she’s been having, Lucy can’t help but wish that she was getting Gregory’s attention. Then, during a challenge in which the boys and girls are each blindfolded and have to rate out of ten a kiss given to them by the opposing team, Hermione gives Gregory’s kiss a 10/10. Gregory’s thrilled and then he gives a 10/10 to the kiss that set off sparks in his heart and soul - but he’s shocked when it turns out he gave such a rating to Lucy’s kiss (and a measly 4/10 to Hermione’s kiss). As thrown as he is by such an outcome, Gregory persists in winning Hermione over, and fortunately his efforts pay off when she chooses to couple up with him. He is thrilled until he wakes up the next day and realises all the girls have left for Casa Amor. Gregory stays faithful but when Hermione returns she’s coupled up with Richard, who turns out to be Lucy’s older brother. Aghast with the result, Gregory lashes out at Lucy, feeling betrayed by her but he stops immediately when she starts crying, telling him she had been shocked to see her brother appear and that she had no idea how he ended up coupling up with her best friend. Gregory comforts her, realising she was none the wiser about any of it, and suddenly he has a crystallizing moment that Hermione was never right for him. Later that night Gregory gets out of bed to get a breath of fresh air and finds Lucy already outside doing the same thing. They chat and Gregory realises how easy it is to talk to her, to just be with her, and it occurs to him that whenever it’s just the two of them the rest of the world melts away; and as soon as this dawns on him, he kisses her. Lucy is surprised and rushes back to her bed, and when Gregory tries talking to her about it the next day she tells him she knows it didn’t mean anything, thinking she was nothing but a rebound for him after Hermione. Gregory is dejected, thinking she doesn’t feel the same way for him, and it hurts him to see her in her couple with Arthur Haselby, wishing he was the one who got to share her bed and get to go on dates with. Then one day, Gregory is surprised to be pulled by Hermione into the pantry and she insists they take off their mic packs, and once they do she quietly informs him that she knows Arthur on the outside; not only is he just in the villa to get a brand deal, but she knows he has a boyfriend on the outside. It’s all the convincing Gregory needs to pursue Lucy without fearing of treading on anyone’s toes and he constantly picks her to do challenges with, tugging her into quiet corners for stolen kisses, and telling her how much he likes her. Lucy is still apprehensive, thinking Gregory’s just trying to make Hermione jealous even though she feels more of a spark with him than with Arthur (and naturally the audience at home are screaming at her to let go and love Gregory back). Eventually Hermione and Richard convince her to follow her heart and at the next recoupling she takes a leap of faith and couples up with Gregory. As soon as they’re together properly, Lucy can’t remember why she had felt so hesitant as Gregory showers her with constant love and affection, and during the prom night ahead of the final Gregory declares his love for her and Lucy just knows she’s going to spend the rest of her life with him.
Hyareth: For the first few weeks, Hyacinth has fun getting to know various boys but none of them are doing anything for her. She spends most of her days with her best friend Felicity and the guy her friend coupled up with on the very first day, Geoff, keeping the pair (and the audience) entertained with her anecdotes and remarks. She laments one evening that she might not find love in the villa but she’ll enjoy the all-expenses paid for holiday nevertheless - and just as she’s finished saying that, in walks the newest bombshell, Gareth, and Hyacinth falls uncharacteristically silent, much to Felicity and Geoff’s great amusement. Initially Hyacinth tries to play it cool with Gareth, not wanting to scare him off (as she fears she’s done with the other guys so far), but he ends up bringing out her true self and what’s more he adores her for exactly who she is. They get along right away but they take things slowly, both wanting a relationship based on friendship first and foremost, and as such they don’t have their first kiss until after they’ve coupled up. From that kiss onwards Hyacinth is smitten and the pair spend all of their time together larking about in the pool, pulling pranks on Felicity and Geoff, and sitting around laughing about anything and everything. During a challenge in which the villa have to fill in the blanks of headlines about the show, Hyacinth is shocked when one headline states that Gareth is only coupling up with her because she’s popular on the outside world; and what’s more, his own father gave the interview. She starts to second guess their entire relationship, wondering if she’s just been his meal ticket this whole time, but Gareth opens up to her and tells her of his fractured relationship with his father who undermines him at every turn and has it out to sabotage every last thing in Gareth’s life. He pleads with her not to believe his father’s lies, not when she’s the best thing to ever happen to him, and Hyacinth chooses to believe him over a bitter old man. Gareth proves to be nothing but all-in with Hyacinth but she’s confused when he keeps reminding her to try to get to know other guys. When Hyacinth tells him she only wants to be with him and demands to know why he’s trying to push her away, he confesses that he fears she can do so much better than him and doesn’t want to hold her back from achieving her true happiness. Hyacinth asks him to rid his mind of his father’s cruel voice and to have faith in her when she says that she believes they are worthy of each other and can achieve true happiness together. From then on Gareth lets go of his insecurities especially after the contestants friends and family visit the villa. Hyacinth’s mother and eldest brother couldn’t approve of him high enough much to his relief, and he can’t help the fond smile he wears as Hyacinth gets on with his grandmother like a house on fire (and not to mention Agatha would be chiding him for ever letting his father’s stupid opinion get in the way of his happiness). Then during their final date he can’t stop smiling across at her, his heart absolutely full when he tells her quite simply that he loves her. Hyacinth exchanges the sentiment and they share a kiss just as fireworks go off overhead - which startles Hyacinth into cursing, making Gareth laugh. She apologises for ruining the moment but he tells her fondly that he wouldn’t have it any other way and kisses her once more.

Au where Ben is slightly older than Anthony, but still bohemian himself. However as the heir he's unavoidably pushed to choose a wife and being unable to find Lady In Silver who stole his heart a year ago he decided to just trust the tastes of a tone and marry The Diamond.
Entering Edwina with Kate in tow who has nothing against Ben himself but heard enough about Bridgerton brother to put an effort to prevent this marriage. And then here's Anthony who even though a second son is always playing the hen and overprotective to the absurd level of belief that Sharmas are for the family fortune.
So kanthony are now in a battle of contradictions where they both don't want this marriage to happen but also "how dare you to assume that my sibling isn't good enough for yours?!"
Ben and Edwina are just enjoying each other's friendly company, chilling and matchmaking... But also saving cute housemaides from an abuse in a spare time.
I love the idea of Benedict being the Viscount instead of Anthony, because that would create a whole set of trouble nobody wants to deal with. He wouldn’t rake around, it’s true, but he would totally push most of the family responsibilities to Anthony and Colin, because he finds it too much pressure to deal with. So Anthony would still grow up feeling responsible for his idiot brother, who only cares about painting and finding himself. Theres taxes to do Ben!! The family estate won’t run itself.
But well, nevermind that, because it’s time for Ben to marry and forget about his imaginary Lady in silver, which Colin affirms, has to be imaginary, since Ben hasn’t found her by now. In Anthony’s opinion, the very logical conclusion for Ben to marry, is obviously, Penelope Featherington, who is of the right age, the right bearing and the right level of intelligence to shoulder the burden of being a Viscountess, additionally she is a family friend, knows all there is to know about how to handle a court presentation and their mother adores her.
But Ben aint feeling it and yeah Colin is against that, VERY against that. For some reason he would rather not think about too deeply. So Colin looks for the diamond of the season and practically pushes Edwina in Benedict’s direction. Anything! For Ben not to start courting Penelope out of a misguided sense of duty drilled in by Anthony. Except Edwina Sharma comes with a pair with Kate Sharma. The most Bridgerton woman Colin has ever met outside his family…And she instantly hates Anthony. Good, that ought to teach him not to meddle in Penelope’s business. Colin hopes Kate and her corgi bite Anthony, hard.
Anthony low key thinks the Sharmas are gold diggers, looking to make a fortune and take advantage of his kind, but super clueless brother. And Kate thinks that Anthony is a unruly idiot who really should mind his own business. Meanwhile Ben and Edwina are making friends, sharing poetry and looking for Ben’s lady in silver while Kate and Anthony bicker, because really, what else can two people do when they’re going to be inlaws once those two hook up anyway?.
I like to think that it’s Edwina who finds Sophie and takes her home with her, they become friends and when Sophie confides in her about how she once went to a masquerade in London and it was the best time of her life. Edwina realizes she found Ben’s true love and conspires with the rest of the Bridgertons to help her and Benedict reuinite. Because she’s really a romantic at heart.
Benedict finally feels complete, over the moon, ready to call Anthony and tell him he found her….And then Benedict finds Kate and Anthony kissing in the library…yeah that just goes downhill from there.
And that’s the tea

I don’t think anyone cares to know this but the turning point for Josie was Edwina’s birthday party.
Edwina wanted to invite Josie because they’re friends, but Edwina was also firmly in the I need to get the hell over this girl part of her plan to remain friends with Josie. So she’s gone to her birthday with the express purpose of getting a little drunk and getting over Josie by getting under someone else.
Josie meanwhile’s been… confused for a while because she’s had friends before, obviously. And it… hasn’t really felt like this before. And she’s been a little bit suspicious for a while that there’s a reason for that. And her stomach flutters when she arrives and Edwina pulls her into a hug that’s over a bit too soon and Edwina tells her to get a drink and she’ll find her in a second. Truth be told she’s been looking forward to seeing Edwina who’s been a bit spacey the last week or so. And then she hardly sees her all night. She sees Kate more, and Anthony who’s hovering feeling a little out of place at his first casual occasion as Kate’s partner.
And then she looks over and sees Edwina pressed against someone else, the other woman whispering in her ear, Edwina’s fingers playing with the hem of the woman’s dress. And her stomach drops. And suddenly she knows exactly what this feeling is. And it’s not friendly. It’s just jealousy.
“I um… I have to go.” Josie cleared her throat, setting down the drink she just got on the table in front of her.
“Everything okay?” Kate asked, watching her closely.
“Yeah Um… I just didn’t feel that well this morning and I thought I was fine but… I just have to go.” Josie said quickly, “Can you just… tell her I said happy birthday?”
“Do you want me to get her? You didn’t even get to give her your present yet.”
“No! No, um… it’s stupid.” Josie shook her head, tucking it back into her bag. Feeling stupid for having brought it at all. “She won’t even notice I’m gone. There’s no point ruining her night.”
“I’ll tell her to call you tomorrow.” Kate yelled over the music, her hand holding her drink and Anthony’s so his hand could hold her other.
Josie shook her head, “Yeah if she has time. I’m training tomorrow so I’m… yeah.”
She tries not to look at Edwina over her shoulder before she goes, her eyes stinging with stupid tears but she does anyway. And it actually kind of fucking hurts.
