On the topic of the spouse groupchat and memes: III think Eloise would have spammed Phillip with this one during the era (read: day) of no sun snu
Tumblr media
Phillip would have locked himself away in his greenhouse just to escape his wife's horny whining, determined not to break the no snu snu pact among the rest of the spouses and hoping for some much needed respite from her desire-fuelled persistence, only for Eloise to blow his phone up with desperate horny meme pleading for sex after desperate horny meme pleading for sex.

Hot take, but Benophie shouldn’t be season 4. Don’t get me wrong, I love Benophie and prefer them over Philloise.
The thing is, from a show perspective, it simply doesn’t make sense to have any sibling other than Eloise follow season 3. One of the central emotional conflicts of this upcoming season is the falling out between El and Pen, which means Eloise will in all likelihood be taking on a larger role in the plot. To do that and then back off from her for the next season just completely slams her character momentum into a brick wall.
Another logistical aspect that I don’t think fans have considered that likely has played a role in moving up Penelope’s and (probably) Eloise’s seasons are the ages of the actresses. Both look unbelievably phenomenal, but they’re also in their 30s and the longer they delay those stories the more likely it is that their characters might start showing that age, which, when they’re supposed to be among the younger/est of their families can cause some visual discrepancies.
For fans of the novels who say “well, what about the book order?” What I say back is, yeah? And? The order of the books is largely complete happenstance, and the story of each sibling has very little to do with the other with one very specific exception. Romancing Mr Brigderton is the only book in the series that not only directly leads up to it’s sequel, but also is the cause of the events leading up to it. Eloise and Colin’s stories overlap and feed into one another. Sure, Francesca’s also happens around the same time but it does not have the same cause and effect on the surrounding stories.
Anyway, I can’t wait for Benophie, but that doesn’t mean they should come next.

I’ve begun my christmas movies yearly rewatch and, seeing my beloved The Holiday, I thought it’d be a perfect Polin/Philloise modern AU!
Eloise is the perfect Amanda (Cameron Diaz): neurotic & workaholic self-made woman.
(Maybe instead of being stressed by an unfaithful boyfriend she’s stressed by Violet wanting her to marry.)
Penelope is shy and a brilliant writer just like Kate Winslet’s Iris, and she actually has an unrequited love for a guy that just broke her heart getting engaged (more on this later).
They switch houses for the holiday, Eloise meets Penelope’s cousin, Phillip - a charming widower with two children, just like Jude Law in the movie. While Pen encounters Eloise’s funny and sweet brother, Colin. And a grumpy old hollywood glory, Agatha Danbury 😃
The only problem is: Colin in a way is both Jasper (Rufus Sewell), counting on his long time friend for writing his book and at the same time getting engaged and breaking Iris/Penelope’s heart, and Jack Black’s Miles, sweet and funny, able to make Iris/Penelope feel better about herself and more confident. What do you think my dear fellow Polin fans?

Bridgerton Incorrect Quotes
Penelope: What’s your biggest fear? Eloise: That I’ll never be good enough for anyone. Phillip: Everyone hates me and talks about me behind my back. Colin: Zombies. Eloise: ... Phillip: ... Colin: BUT they can open doors.

Another Polin Drabble/Prompt:
This came to me while watching Joey King in “The Princess” lol
Not gonna lie, I really like this one. Possible next project after SMB is complete maybe?
Unless someone else writes it first…hint hint… haha.
Picture this: Kingdom Au.
Plot: What it means to be Rescued.
The Bridgertons are the ruling family of the North Kingdom. When Princess Eloise (the fifth born to the throne) is kidnapped by hired mercenaries, Rogue Prince Colin (the Third born to the throne) is ordered by King Anthony to rescue their sister in secret from the hands of their enemy.
The Featheringtons rule over the South Kingdom, only to suffer betrayal from one of their own. Lady Whistledown and her Merry Whistlers are the South’s most wanted band of criminals. Charged with treason against the crown for spreading blasphemy and lies.
When Penelope wakes trapped in a tower, believed to be a princess by her kidnappers, the last thing she expects is to be rescued. Let alone for her rescuer to be a devilishly charming Prince from the neighbouring kingdom.
“Well, hello there? You’re not my sister.”
“I sincerely hope not.”
Meanwhile, in a similarly built tower not too far away, Eloise wakes trapped in a tower. Lady Whistledown’s second in command, Phillip, finds himself stuck with a chatty princess determined to rescue herself.
“For the last time, I have this completely under control!”
“Are you always this chatty?”

I've been thinking about Philloise's future and I have a few theories of what might happen, because right now I can't imagine the book's scenario happening.
In the book Marina is a distant cousin of the Bridgertons and dies due to a suicide attempt. Eloise then decides to start sending letters, but in the series Marina is Penelope's distant cousin and Eloise doesn't have any kind of positive feelings for Marina (understandable given Colin's backstory). Here we have the theory of Marina forming a friendship with Eloise in S3 (it is known that there will be an unexpected friendship between Eloise and someone and it could make sense that it is with Marina, because both were victims of Lady Whistledown). At this point Marina dies with a fever or a period illness and out of solidarity Eloise decides to correspond with Phillip.
Colin forms a friendship with Phillip due to his numerous travels and consequently ends up introducing Eloise to Phillip. In this Theo still remains in Eloise's life, but due to the numerous differences between them, Eloise decides to put an end to their relationship and takes refuge in Phillip's friendship, where they end up corresponding. (Marina's death remains with illness, thus justifying an aid to deal with the grief of a dead wife and two orphaned children)
Marina and Phillip remain happy, alive, together and Eloise stays with Theo 🤭 (Extremely unlikely, but a person can dream from time to time)
Now please I would love to know your theories and your opinions

What do you think the likelihood is of us getting to season 5 (philoise)? I am keeping my fingers crossed the show will be greenlit for more seasons post S4 but there’s always the fear of cancellation…looking at you Netflix…
With all the trouble that they took to introduce Phillip in season one I don't that this ship is going to just disappear if they get cancelled there will be a Philloise happy ending
although I am wondering what will happen in season tree for the reason that marina's actress Ruby Baker, who is such a sweetheart you should follow her on Instagram, has been suffering from mental health concerns, and I don't know if this would affect her possible return for season three or if they could just write her off and just bring her back for season 4.
there is the possibility that Phillip and Eloise story may be brought forward due to the consideration to watch Ruby Barker’s mental health. bridgerton could just find a suitable reason for marina to not be on screen. it doesn't have to be at that she could just be traveling the continent, or like Francesca could appear for 3.5 seconds of screen time, because she was recovering in bath. but I do think that either marinas illness (if I’m not mistaken, her official cause of death was canonically pneumonia), or her eventual death will be introduced in season 3. there is a possibility that Penelope will receive a letter from Philip sometime at the beginning of the season just telling her that Marina is ill and to prepare for the worst and at the end of season 3, when Colin and Penelope are wrapping up their story,  we just have a brief appearance of Phillip just as we did in season one, To deliver the news in person that Marina has passed away just to drive in a little bit deeper how much lady whistledown affected everyone.
In that case we would have the entire of season 4, of Eloise writing to Phillip, while he is arguably in his 1 year mourning period, the actor doesn't need to be on screen for that, and in season five we get the proper introduction to their story. Alternatively they could just Fast forward all that and have Eloise and Philip in the same season as Benedict and Sophie
so yeah I have hopes for Phillip and Elise not that high but I know there's going to be at least a mention of them in season 3.

How do Eloise and Phillip fit into the Bridgerton Brothers AU?
Phillip's a recording engineer who owns a studio and works exclusively with instrumental musicians like Sophie. Right from Sophie's first recording session the pair formed an instant bond and she faithfully collaborated with him for every one of her albums.
Though he had absolutely nothing to worry about, Benedict couldn't help feeling a little bit jealous every time Sophie returned from a recording session with Phillip and gushed over how switched on he was and just how perfectly he understood the sound she wanted to make. Even when Benedict tagged along to the sessions and saw just how enthusiastically Sophie and Phillip discussed the music and nothing more, he couldn't help the pinch of jealousy as he wondered if Phillip admired his wife on a deeper level beyond a professional working relationship. He didn't doubt Sophie's love for him but he just wasn't sure if he fully trusted Phillip to not try something.
While he kept his jealousy hidden from Sophie to avoid causing any issue unnecessarily, he did express his feelings to Eloise, hoping she could provide him with the assurances he needed to hear that he was simply being paranoid and merely envied Phillip's deeper understanding and technical insight into Sophie's music. Eloise told him as much, though she did offer to tag along to Sophie's next recording session to assess the situation herself and get an idea if Phillip did in fact harbour some feelings for Sophie beyond Benedict's green-eyed paranoia.
And so Eloise accompanied Sophie to the next session, though as soon as she shook hands with Phillip she completely forgot about her motivations of coming to the studio in the first place. Sophie smiled to herself as she saw how well the pair were already getting on, having always had an inkling that they might make for a great match. In fact they almost got on too well as after playing a song Sophie had to call out Phillip's name several times to get his attention for some feedback, only for Phillip to apologise profusely as he had forgotten to press record due to Eloise's presence distracting him completely.
"Well?" Benedict said immediately as soon as his sister had picked up his call.
"Well what?"
"What did you think?" he hissed. "Does he seem into Sophie?"
"Oh no, no, no, no, no." Eloise laughed off. "Not in the slightest, Ben, don't you worry."
"Are you sure?"
"One hundred percent; Phil's not into Sophie."
"Oh thank god." Benedict breathed a sigh of relief.
"But he is very much into me."
"Wait - what?!" Benedict spluttered.
"Quite literally, in fact." Eloise added with a cackle.
Benedict pulled his phone away to stare at it in utter bewilderment before he brought it back up to his ear.
"El, where exactly are you right now?"
"Laid up on the floor in the recording booth. Phil's gone to fetch us refreshments from the fridge."
"You slept with him?!" Benedict squawked in disbelief, flabbergasted by the turn of events that had led to his sister having sex with the very guy he had been worried might be into Sophie. "El, what the fuck?!"
"Have you ever done it in a recording booth before? Because if you haven't, you should. The acoustics are fucking next-level." Eloise recommended, not even remotely bothered by her brother's incredulity. "Anyway, I've got to go. I'll fill you in on Phil filling me in once we've resurfaced."
Benedict stared dismally at the wall as his little sister hung up on that crudely disgusting note and he lowered his phone with a sigh. Fortunately before he could dwell on the fact that he had been informed unprompted about his sister's sex-life, Sophie slipped into his lap and distracted him with kisses. At the very least the one silver lining he could take away from the unwanted information about Eloise's sexcapade was that since Phillip was into her, Benedict had no reason to worry about the man having any interest in Sophie.

Usually when I see posts along the line of “why is everyone being so negative about this fandom thing? Be nice to each other,” it’s a tidal wave of call outs to what ends up being a small amount of negativity, but y’all
Y’all
I went on Twitter and people are actually being aggressively salty and trashing Polin and their actors, because they don’t like the friend-to-lovers trope and/or pairing. As if they don’t just have to wait out the season for the show to focus on an entirely new pairing that they do like, even outside of the established lead character glow-up pattern in the show. Think Kanthony is better? Good thing they’re going to still be in this season! Prefer Benophie? Feel free to skip 3 and wait for 4!
Anyway, that’s the risk of a psuedo anthology romance series I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️ I like Polin and know I’m excited for season 3, but I also know I dislike much of Philloise’s story and probably won’t like their season as much without some major changes. Doesn’t mean I’m going to trash the pairing and fans of it. Just means it’s not my cup of tea and I’m going to stay in my lane about it.

How do you think Eloise and Phillip will meet in the show now that the timeline has changed by moving Penelope and Colin's season up? Will they still write letters?
This is a good question and something I've been wondering about for a while. I genuinely have no clue?? 🥴
Obviously they will have to change Eloise's motivations for running off to Romney Hall because in the book it was due to Polin's wedding. And I'm sorry, but there's no way Eloise is running anywhere as early as season 3 or 4. (Not to mention Marina is still alive so the timing is all wrong.) And there's the added layer of Marina not being suicidal, Marina not being Eloise's cousin, Marina/Colin's relationship, Marina/Penelope's relationship, and now Phillip/Colin's relationship. Also Marina being a victim of LW! (Which may or may not end up being relevant.)
There's a lot of moving pieces here that will effect Eloise's season because of changed character dynamics, backstories, and plotlines. I do believe the letters will still play a part. They kinda have to, they're a huge part of the story and the book's namesake (To Sir Phillip, With Love). But I have reason to believe that Eloise may actually meet Phillip before they start writing letters in the show, and that the letters will begin before her season (perhaps in season 4). This is because Eloise already has a connection to Phillip (through Colin and Penelope) that in the books did not exist. He's been introduced way ahead of schedule as well, there was no reason to give Marina a subplot in season 1 and make her important or introduce Phillip that early on, yet they did, and the only reason I can think of as to why is they're trying to get the audience used to Phillip and perhaps even progress his relationship with Eloise ahead of schedule. Perhaps do a slow burn like they've done with Polin. I could see Eloise casually meeting Phillip and having an intriguing conversation with him, and that prompts her to either become his pen pal right off the bat or write him a letter of grievance when/if Marina passes which then evolves into them being pen pals.
And I also have a feeling given how season 2 was altered from The Viscount Who Loved Me, that Phillip will not propose a marriage of convenience in his letters. Firstly show Eloise would NOT be tempted by that. But secondly because the show seems to be pushing more of a true love romance agenda and a marriage of convenience or a forced marriage isn't romantic. So I think part of Eloise's story will actually be moved to London, and we may get a 50/50 split with Romney Hall (similar to how Aubrey Hall was used in season 2). And I can see Phillip and Eloise forming an intellectual attachment that grows romance and Eloise's struggle or conflict in her season will be coming to terms with the idea of marriage or lifelong commitment as she falls for Phillip. Also, I cannot for the life of me see show Anthony forcing Eloise to marry anyone for any reason, so that plotline is effectively scrapped. (And good riddance! I hated it.)
Tbh one of my big complaints of the books is HOW the couples get married. It's usually forced, arranged, or someone is pressured into it. They're rarely in love when they get married and only fall after the fact. Idk that may do it for some people but I never enjoyed that aspect of the books, the whole "trapping" women into marriage thing. It's quite off-putting so I'm very open and excited to the idea of the show changing all the proposals and marriages. I already think Kanthony got a huge upgrade and an absolutely beautiful love confession and proposal and I can only hope all the Bridgertons get the same.
