Layton Mystery Tanteisha definitely isn't a perfect piece of media, but there are two things in particular that it did that I love endlessly and that's the two I giffed above. The left one is from episode 9 and the right one is from episode 49.

What I really love here is that it shows physical affection between two men and it also shows a grown man crying, and neither of these are turned into a punchline or commented on negatively. Layton and Luke's masculinity is not called into question because they hug or because Layton cries. Both of these scenes are a bit emotionally charged and it would be understandable if they broke the tension by adding a joke and if they were to, that would be the easy target, but they don't, and I love that about it.

this demon was being hunted by kanae the former flower hashira and she was the one to save my self insert. after being taken in and finding that her constitution in her dense lungs she quickly excelled at flower breathing. because her lungs have a higher capacity for air intake the more strength, speed, etc she has access to making her one of the strongest in new talent

despite this she’s timid and easily frightened, hates being a demon slayer no but her moral code is strong so she stays because she knows its the right thing. though she is happy with the bonds she has made in the corps what she wants more than anything is a peaceful life with someone she loves.

sanemi and kanae where close which means barou, sanemi’s student was often around her. he doesn’t find her timidness and whiny nature annoying as he knows it’s followed by a good heart and enough grit to be one of the best. following the death of her master, kanae, my self insert is often seen being spoken to by sanemi and barou who check up on her. she often prays with gyomei and her adoptive father’s prayer beads can be seen wrapped around her wrist or in her pocket.

on her free time she attends shrines and reads scripture. while she is religious it’s mostly because the routine reminds her of her father. barou often accompanies her. she is present at the spider mountain with kanao, swordsmith village arc, hashira training arc, kanao + inosuke vs douma and at the final battle. barou and her leave the corps together with sanemi’s blessing and within a year they marry and life peaceful lives
