I made a cute little sylvari! She cries so much and she has a little cat. She's way different from the usual commander I make and it'll be fun to explore with how she reacts to things.

15. Does your commander have any pets/close animal companions?

Glaw: Frigg is their favorite mount, a spunky skyscale who they've been accompanied by even throughout their entire ordeal with Jormag. They also picked up a stray cat in Cantha (who does not have a canon name yet).

AU-Glaw: Not really? They travel too much to keep any pets, always too busy, and they try not to play favorites with their mounts. This, of course, all becomes irrelevant after they're introduced to their new warclaw/journeykin cub.

16. Outside of their own race and culture, which other race and/or culture is your commander most interested in? Why?

Glaw: Tengu, but specifically the Canthan tengu. Glaw got really attached to the tengu village they stayed at while in Echovald. So the appreciation is built mostly from just good hospitality they experienced while there, but they also found connection with the tengu warriors.

AU-Glaw: Charr. Partially from their later teenage years, when they first began building their legend, they hung around charr a lot. As a result, they picked up a lot of charr mannerisms and appreciations for charr cooking.

Third day, got a wee bit further with story (I guessed right hehe), still losing time to taking in the scenery. Now I just got in the second map, and I'm busy slurping up all the juicy lore 🧃

I gotta say, while bouncing around is fun and the combat stuff feels nice, my one complaint with the updated warclaw is its speed. Animation is too fast (pretty sure they just sped it up), it feels like the poor cat is having eternal zoomies, and idk it's somehow worse on some skins. I know it was probably upped for mechanics and balance reasons, and it's likely too late to reduce it, but I'm gonna be forever peeved about it because it was one of my fave run cycles. At least I'm glad it didn't invalidate jackal and raptor.

... Also is it me being tired or is everyone pronouncing Janthir differently?

Does your character canonically have specific mounts?

yes! iovitus has a griffon named W.P. (dont ask what it stands for, its a deep dark secret) and a raptor named princess. they raised their griffon from a hatchling after kind of having him thrust onto them, and they ... borrowed ... their raptor from the legions when they left. WP is very shy and sweet and affectionate but hes also a big scaredy cat, whereas princess is grumpy and old and will growl and hiss at you for looking at her wrong. she doesnt bite or anything, shes just a little pissbaby 

Do you have any canon mount skins / coloration for them?

yes! they both exist in-game —> 

for most of my characters with canon mounts, i like to use skins that are close enough to the base model where they dont feel out of place next to a canon griffon/raptor/etc but have slight differences, like differences in pattern or spikes or something so they stand out

How likely are they to rent one versus own one? 

uhmmm, probably rent just because they dont really have the time or space to care for another animal, theyre already caring for their mounts, their pets, and they probably do most of the care for gratta’s warclaw too, on top of travelling for work etc

Are there any mounts they prefer using (or others they can't stand)?

iovitus isnt very familiar with skimmers since they hardly have to work with them. its also just kind of a weird feeling to ride one i imagine… like a floating carpet but its alive… i wouldnt say they cant stand it, though, theyre just not used to the feeling of riding one. they enjoy griffon riding though! its fun and speedy

Do they keep their mounts stabled, take them with them, or some secret 3rd thing?

they live with them! theyre all well-trained and are mostly free roaming within limits, but they dont really wander much. princess has to be tied up at night just because shes naughty and will get herself into trouble if left unsupervised

🎮 VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER — what are three of your oc’s favorite hobbies?

she's a sucker for wood carving (and working, by extension), puzzles, and anything to do with textiles, in particular screen printing. she doesn't do it as much, particularly the more hands on stuff, but give her a puzzle and she's distracted for ages.

🎶 MUSICAL NOTES — what type of music does your oc like? do they listen to music very often?

as for a genre, her regular listening does fall into the very broad category of 'rock', but she's fine with almost anything. doesn't necessarily have a preference, because it's dependent on her mood and why she's listening. if it's to like listen to other local bands and/or competition, then it's more of a focus on what they do, not just the music. if it's for her own leisure and pleasure, it's probably just the radio playing in the background. constantly has some form of music on though, half-jokingly but kind of seriously like a soundtrack to her life following her through even just doing the dishes.

💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL — share three random facts about your oc that others may not know.

jen is kind of a conspiracy nut, like the wormhole reading late at night that sucks her in. worked hard to reduce her stutter, insofar that like, those she met in high school aren't even aware she has one. has a fear of forests, refuses to consider them.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FAMILY WITH MOTHER, FATHER, SON AND DAUGHTER — how many people are in your oc’s immediate family? how many people are in your oc’s extended family? do they have aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc? who in their family are they closest with? are they close with their birth family, or do they have a found family?

yeah she's got her parents who are like. off doing their own thing. her dad's parents basically raised her, but by the time of infamous her grandma has passed. her maternal grandparents don't talk to her, has about four aunts on her mum's side with a spattering of cousins she doesn't know the names of. on her dad's side, has an uncle who has like. a kid that jen is vaguely aware of. but is also convinced the uncle is paying child support for at least twelve kids, whose to say. she's close with her granddad (and grandma before she passed), but definitely the home is in the friends... even if it is a lil fractured underneath.

okay like considering that dragons and griffons are rly common, ganieda is like fascinated by the simple house cat. they're so odd, but also like found everywhere. obsessed with picking them up, despite whatever may happen. otherwise, warclaws probably. something about the mist...

💔 BROKEN HEART — what are three of your oc’s negative traits?

reactive, unreliable, uncooperative. to start with lol, but mostly due to her kind of primary focus within the priory and kind of ignoring literally everyone for the sake of her work, its got her a lot of association with being an all around negative person, not someone many want to work with.

💘 HEART WITH ARROW — what and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them?

the lil carved fern hound around her neck. with no possible emotional attachment there to anything else of course but it is definitely only the fern hound. yknow.

🖤 BLACK HEART — has your oc killed or seriously wounded anyone before? have they broken someone’s heart and/or broken someone’s trust?

okay i mean to be fair if she fights to kill, she fights to kill. very rarely does it end up with simply wounding. especially as in her line of work prior to being thrown around with all the dragon god war things, like sometimes she had to make the first move. sometimes, she removed a thug on the road who pissed her off enough. sometimes, she took out the bandits first. and then sometimes she's been pissed off in a bar hard enough to break a glass against someone's face without quite knowing her own strength.

it's all perspective on breaking a heart. but she definitely has.

😞 DISAPPOINTED FACE — does your oc attract others, or do they tend to be left alone?

if ganieda has attracted anyone, it's not really been picked up by her. granted, most people tend to also give her a wide berth, in the sort of observation way. pretty flower perception way. there have been times where ganieda has been aware, and acted on that attraction, but she definitely is very aware that the vibes she gives off are rancid. the layer of filth as she's bog diving probably doesn't help.

Wasn’t tagged, but it looked super fun so I’m gonna do it. :3 

1: Favorite living world season? Living World Season 4 was amazing. It awakened (hah...) my love of Palawa Joko and all things Elonian, and also dove into some really amazing, top notch story content. Boy howdy. Season 4 had me REELING on multiple occasions (hello ending of episode 3 and 5. JEEZ.). 

2: Favorite expansion? Path of Fire. Just... Just beautiful. I still park myself in Vabbi just to enjoy the scenery and culture of the place.

3: Favorite soundtrack? Path of Fire’s Soundtrack is so good. I’m a fan of non-Western music, so it’s got some different sounds that I enjoy.

4: First profession you played? Engineer. It was new compared to GW1, plus it gave me some SERIOUS steampunk vibes.

5: First race you played?  Human. I still got my girl Torris Brookes. <3 

6: Favorite Destiny’s Edge character? Zojja (RIP). She’s so bitter and petty, so she creates some good (even if sometimes unnecessary) conflict.

7: Favorite Dragon’s Watch character? Taimi. I really do enjoy her dialogue, and I’ve been missing her as of late.

8: Favorite Elder Dragon? Kralkatorrik actually brought me to tears when I saw him the first time. Magnificent. 

9: Best boss fight (story)? Palawa Joko. :3c

10: Best boss fight (fractal)? Oh, that’s tough. Hm... I do like Arrk’s final Shattered Observatory fight quite a lot. 

11: Best boss fight (raid)? Really, I enjoy all of wing 1. Sabetha is a BITCH, though. 12: PvE or PvP or RP? PvE. I have PVP achievements on my nearly completed panel and I hate it. They’re the only reason I venture into PVP at all.

13: Favorite canon couple? Jory and Kas. I wish nothing but the best for them.

14: Favorite fanon/self made couple? I don’t really have one, tbh... Uh, anyone’s characters x canon characters? My OC Rin hangs out with her djinn buddy Nefes a lot, but that’s not really a couple... *squints*

15: Favorite quote? “Gross” -   Bonnie Kunderah, Apprentice to Snargle Goldclaw. And also “WHAT??” *incoherent crashing and banging and scrambling* “Did you say chak?!” - Gorrik

16: Most emotional cinematic? Yeah, gotta go with Trahearne. We had to put my cat down 3 days before I played that instance due to a terminal illness, so that hurt extra hard.

22: Favorite weapon? There’s so many cool ones.I really love shields (Chrono main forever ago). I prefer more realistic, less flashy weapons. For RP purposes.~

23: Favorite gear set? Marauder shoulders and pants with bucaneer coat and privateer boots. I would wear this in real life if i could, I  think it’s beautiful. 

24: Favorite title? The Eternal (that BITCH, Sabetha).

25: Something you worked really hard to get? H.O.P.E. My first ever legendary. When I learned that I didn’t just *get* it after completing T4, it almost drove me to taking a break from the game. I might’ve cried. I became so poor after finishing T4, I didn’t have enough money to waypoint.

26: Favorite GW2 Youtuber / GW2 related video? I love me some Wooden Potatoes and KROOF Gaming. 

27: Most used miniature? Palawa Joko. :3c He follows my girl, Rin Smallwood, around.

28: Most used novelty? My skyscale lounging chair, or the Desert King chair. Usually both accidentally.

29: Number of achievements points? Currently? 20,983. Gonna get 22/22 of No Quarter tomorrow.

30: Something you’d love to see in GW2? Call me terrible, but more Joko content on Halloween. Still think it was a missed opportunity to have Aurene barfed up his head. We could have gotten a new legendary focus that wouldn’t shut up.

Tidbit on the Warclaw

I have the answer to one question that people have been asking. How do we get it. Here is your answer. You go to Hero panel, Achievements, World vs World Warclaw. You see that window in the screenshot below. It is a collection that is accomplish by completing tasks. Starting at the top here is what you do for each. Emblem:spend 1 world ability point in the Warclaw mastery section of the WvW menu Gorget: capture a Keep Horn Spikes: capture a Camp Saddle: capture a Tower Helmet: complete the Warclaw reward track Body Armor: purchase from Warclaw vendor with 50 WvW Skirmish Claim Tickets Leg Armor: purchase from Warclaw vendor with 250 Badges of Honor Tail Armor: loot it from Guards Also, the horns are part of the Helmet not the cat.

Uhhhh..... you can beeeeeee a big fluffy but super strong cat lady?

Or maybe a plant person that glows in the dark? They’re like elves, but literally one with nature.. and you can have a ridiculous mushroom head if you want. It’s classy.

There’s also little rat people with big floppy ears (not shown here :[ ) that are technological marvels and usually very, very full of themselves

And finally, uhm.... there’s Human and Bigger Human. Bigger Human is here to fill your Nordic viking aesthetic.

Oh! It isn’t necessary, but with the most recent expansion there are mounts! They require a one-time purchase of the expansion, which, on the right website, is only about $18 (Purchase of this expansion also nets you the previous expansion as well, if I’m remembering right)!

Pictured are Raptors, which can jump extremely far; Springers, which can jump extremely high; Jackals, which are teleport doggos; and Skimmers, which are your go-to for fast over-the-water travel. Not pictured are Griffons, which can fly; Roller Beetles, which are the speediest land mounts available in the right conditions; Warclaws, which are..... I don’t actually know what they have going for them, I’ve never gotten one :D;; and Skyscales, which are another flying mount. You can also dye the base mounts with a single color of your choosing!

There are also skins you can get for them! Skins that alter color patterns, give them a galaxy-esque body with startrails as they move, give them cute little santa outfits with snowfalls around them, or make them super spooky (shown above) with the Halloween season! The best part? Every single part of their body is dye-able, with any skin!

There’s also 9 whole classes for your character, with 8 of them having 2 whole subclasses to use, if you so choose, once you reach max level! I won’t go too into those (I don’t want the longest post imaginable here LOL), but there are a good selection between magic, melee, tanks, stealth, rangers with pets, rangers with pets, rangers with pets,

Obvsly in game I use the raptor the most but Kori's warclaw is really her main mount Plus since she travels alone usually it's comforting to sleep curled up with a giant suit of cat armor to protect you Kori is also secretly vain and likes to keep up her appearance and polish her horns and stuff. And you KNOW she probably spends no small amount of time just polishing and cleaning gix's armor as well. Idk if warclaw's can purr but they def enjoy it

Its okay! This is gonna be rather fun to answer :)03. What would be their favorite physical trait about themselves? 

When it comes to that, its rather hard. But I like to think she takes most pride in her hair. Long, soft and shiny and you’d often find her playing with it when she’s focused on something.  

04. What are their favorite traits about their lover? (one psychological and one physical)

Psychological: The ability to make her laugh. She’s always loved people who can make her laugh. Its one of her favourite ways to express herself, and Oswald isn’t beyond making her giggle on a regular basis. 

Physical: Height, she adores it when he’s taller than her, and having instances where she has to get on her tippy toes to give a kiss, or can be picked up and held. And being the occasional big spoon to someone taller is what she enjoys doing as well.

07. Is there a catchphrase or sound that they tend to make a lot (likely without being aware of it)?

That kind of “snrk” sound when someone is holding in a laugh, or what wheeze at the beginning of laughter. These sounds are far more common than any catchphrase she’d ever come up with. 

13. What are your character’s sleeping habits? Heavy or light sleeper? Blanket stealer? One that always rolls onto the floor? Pushes their lover onto the floor? Sleep talker or walker?

Heavy sleeper, she also tends to blanket burrito herself when on her own and feeling cold, but she isn’t a blanket stealer. And talking is rather rare, she doesn’t sleep walk. Most of the time, if it can be done, she usually finds herself nuzzled into the side of her partner, or with her head on their shoulder/chest. She’s very affectionate in bed if the other party allows it.

18. What kind of home would they want to live in? Where would they place this abode?

Big ol’ spooky castle. But if it ever came to living somewhere else, she’d probably enjoy a little house in the woods with a flowing stream and the sounds of nature.

20. Does your character like animals? What are some of their favorite animals? Would they want pets? What about mythological creatures?

Cats, cats cats cats, she LOVES cats. And she’d have a bunch if she really wanted to. But when it comes to cats, Zuzu, the griffon and her Panther Warclaw are very spoilt and well loved. Her other mounts are looked after too, but the cat like ones are her favourites.And if you’re clever enough to spot it, she sometimes roams under the effects of the endless cat tonic. See a black cat on the street you feel like you haven’t seen before? Be careful, as that might be the Mad Queen.

22. What kind of tattoos, piercings, birthmarks, freckles, and other such unique physical features do they have?

She has her destroyer arms from that one accident some time ago and a a scar on her waist from another incident. Oswald gave her the power to temporarily sprout wings from her back for when she needs them, but 90% of the time she keeps them hidden.I have debated giving MQT a tattoo, a little pumpkin one. But haven’t decided if I’m going to go ahead with that yet. 

38. What kind of weather does your character like? Cloudy skies, rainy days, sunshine, etc?

Rainy autumn days, she loves listening to rain and watching it fall with a blanket and a hot cup of cocoa. Listening to the rain helps her sleep when she struggles to.

39. When people look at your character, is there some assumption they might make about them just by appearance? Is that assumption correct?

Well, her outfit is inspired and similar to Oswalds, so I’d like to think people recognise and link her to halloween. And might think she’s a bit evil? Either way, she’s harmless. (mostly)

46. What is some random affectionate thing that your character always does to their lover?Very small gestures of affection. For example, if they’re sitting on their thrones together, she’s most likely to reach over and hold his hand, and gently rub her thumb against the back of his, not noticeable that much by others unless really paying attention, she’s not one for a lot of PDA. And other things like resting her head on him or giving a little nuzzle with her head. And maybe a little cheek peck when she thinks nobody is looking. But she’s not above sitting on his lap and basking on it like she’s in charge. 

47. Is your character outgoing? Would they be the leader of the friend group, or the quiet one that gets dragged along?

She’s pretty introverted but since she has been exposed to the royal life she’s become a little more accustomed to leading. Although this isn’t always the greatest idea, something stupid is bound to happen if things are more layed back. But if she had to take charge for the sake of the Mad Realm she’d make a formidable Queen and leader. She might not seem like it at first. But is able to step up to the plate. When it comes to friend groups, she doesn’t see herself as the leader. And would rather leave that to someone else unless people wanted her to lead. 

Stepping down and letting someone else take charge can be a breath of fresh air when she has time away from royal duties.I hope reading some of this has helped you guys understand her character a little more.
