damn, trying to make stuff is hard when you are tired all of the time. Body just sort of slacking along. I’ve been getting little bursts of writing done but I think that’s all I’ll be able to do for the near future, but maybe that’s okay? There’s nothing cohesive though. Just smatterings. Maybe that’ll be enough someday.

I’ve been loving *playing* rpgs though. I’ve been fucking with this glog discord server that started up a few weeks ago after I had been pestering people to run a GLoG for me.

It’s been a wild ride. I was the second person to join the server, after the creator. I feel like my contributions tend to go to the wayside but I am liking being there. The person running it has a ton of energy and was posting and making shit like wild for a little while, and it is very active. I’ve played in a handful of voice games and text games, all as my new fave Lady Pratt, who’s taken some time to become a character but is finding her voice.

She is a Warrior from this amazing post, using the lightning-based Weapon Art. She was sort of a character-less silo for a little while as I learned how to play the game and got more comfortable. She wears plate armor, shield, and a spear and is really just there to kill. That’s not how I saw her then, but it’s what she was about, especially given a lot of glog classes aren’t made for combat

I had to look it up... I went to AO3 to see what kind of fics you guys have been writing lately. Last time I checked for Odysseus/Poseidon, there were only like five fics, and three of them weren't in English. That was just in the 'Ancient Greek Religion & Lore' fandom. If I remember right, it was completely empty in the Epic The Musical. I don't know if there were any Odysseus/Zeus fics last time I checked at AO3, but I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't that many.

Now... there are 21 fics of Odysseus/Poseidon!! And 10 of them are explicit?!! And 10 fics of Odysseus/Zeus?!! What is going on?!!

The whole "breasts shouldn't be politicized because the primary purpose of breasts is to feed babies!" can be a fine jumping-off point, but I really wish people thought deeper than that when we talk about the ways in which bodies are politicized and restricted.

Like, why's it that when we talk about breasts, they must have some Higher Purpose? It's true that breasts aren't inherently sexual, but they aren't valuable solely because they can potentially feed a baby. A human body doesn't have to serve a Higher Purpose in order for it to not be legislated against or policed, and I just wish people would remember it isn't always about babies, about other people, about anything else other than the people who have that body.

Another thing I noticed about this episode. The flashback in the beginning where Touya asks Enji to come to the peak seemed... Off to me, and i couldn't place it at first so I went and found the same frame from the flashback before, when Touya's backstory is presented in Enji's point of view and, well, look at this shit

This is supposed to be the same frame (Enji's pov on the left, Touya's on the right) and it really says something about perspective. Touya looks hysterical and unstable in the right frame. His eyes look so exhausted and sad. His smile looks distraught. His hair seems messier. He has dark circles under his eyes. Overall he just looks extremely unwell. And then the left frame he looks more... Put together, which makes me wonder if Enji was purposely overlooking just how sickly and broken Touya actually looked back then and was remembering him through a sort of filter Because he couldn't handle thinking Touya looked like That on probably the last day he saw him alive. Because side by side the difference is just... Wow

I’m not done talking about Raph and Leo yet because you know what kills me? How the beginning of the movie with Raph very angry at Leo to the point of lashing out at him is paralleled with how the end of the movie has the Krang very, very angry at Leo and beating him horrifically.

Both Raph and the Krang are so much bigger than Leo, both have been very angry with him, and both deem him responsible for ruining their respective missions.

To make matters worse, Raph’s body was used to hurt Leo. So it’d make sense for Leo to just…flinch, sometimes. To have his body reflectively brace for a blow that will not come because Raph would see this and just be horrified. Their fights, their roughhousing, their existing together all have a newfound and unwanted extra layer to them.

And Raph? Raph is traumatized enough having been brainwashed the way he was, turned into a monster in a way he always dreads in general. To be made into the antithesis of a hero and instead be a villain’s pawn, made to hurt his own family…poor kid, to say the least.

Can’t imagine what it must feel like, the first time post invasion that Raph gets mad at Leo and they fall into their old dynamic only for Leo to see the Krang and for Raph to feel like he is the Krang.

As a gift to @somerandomdudelmao and myself after that one comment about the little turtles watching Casey Junior clamber on and cling to his “Master/Sensei” figures and having an “Oh he means Dad” moment.

They are having the turtle pile they deserve in the pillow-fort that was demanded when they found out Uncle Tello splurged on an obscene amount of cushions and installed Floor Heating and a Heat Lamp.
