So, the big long-awaited event has finally happened - BigBang cameback and performed a bit on MAMA 2024.

I'm not a proper fan of the group (still haven't listened to any album in full, just know the popular A-sides), but they were my introduction to k-pop (I knew other groups existed, SM's were the first people around me talked about (TVXQ, SuJu, SNSD), but it thanks to "Fantastic baby" that I developed some interest myself). They are the kings of k-pop, noone has surpassed them yet in the terms of rule-breaking, artistic legacy and impact in SK. (It could have been any other group in place of BTS, it was just a matter of time and place).

And considering how big BB is, it's even more sad how much they paid for their fame. G-Dragon looked really bad at MAMA, he is evidently mentally in a bad condition. Even more impressive, that he still found it in himself to return to the stage, and is capable of creativity.

T.O.P left the group, but his parts were played during the songs, so the members stay friends. I didn't look for info to make sure before, but I thought it was the case. That Top left because he didn't want to deal with toxicity form knets. It's enough he barely survived a suicide attempt.

When I watched GD's "Power", the beginning of the MV with the "U" made of two male figures of different height and figure shapes instantly made me think it was a reference to Gtop (GDxTop). And now I see shippers say that pale pink is Top's favourite colour. Now I'm even more positive of the initial impression. (U stands for Übermensch (superhuman)).

They had their nice fun days, but the society and mental problems almost broke them. Hopefully, they will both be able to heal and find themselves as artists and as a couple again (even if as close friends, such relationships mutate but stay life-long).

Btw, will watch "Squid game 2" for Top only, haha. I miss him. (Barely managed to end the 1st season. Although now I have more "ties" to the actors after watching the lead with Do in MiTH and another actor who played in "Hoblin")

Anyway. JaeDo can hide as much as they feel needed, I don't mind Doyoung being paranoid or even putting on his cute image, as long as they avoid troubles and the wrong attention from knets. As a shipper I will better starve than see them end up like Gtop.

Libraries are fantastic, but you have to understand: there is a tradeoff, which is: you don’t get to hang onto materials indefinitely.

You can’t yell at us because you’ve decided to use a library music score for 3 months and you have to at least bring it to the library before checking it out again. You can’t yell at us if you can’t renew it because someone else placed a hold so they can use it too. Don’t get snippy if you signed an agreement saying you understand you get this laptop for 4 weeks and then you have to return it.

Yes, libraries are fantastic, but things have to be accessible to everyone, not just  you.

The chord that won't break

Jaehyun had his first fanmeets. I'm not sure he sang? I see only him dressing up and posing for the fans, signing albums on X. He looks well.

Different neos have different temperaments, thereby they will deal with and process the new reality of ot8 at their of own pace.

Doyoung is a reactive person and he puts a lot on his shoulders, worries not only about himself, but his group and his fans, so he feels the pain inflicted by the situation acutely. His emotional intillegence and high empathy allow him to sing emotionally and choose songs with meaning, touch the hearts of many people, his care for others helps him to gain friends and build his career. However, he has to pay a price for this in the form of tears and emotional roller-coasters that he can't control. He is like a chord that vibrates at the easiest of touches.

Doyoung is sensitive in this sense - "quick to detect or respond to slight changes, signals, or influences" and "having or displaying a quick and delicate appreciation of others' feelings". Yet he is not sensitive in another meaning of this adjective - "easily upset by the things people say or do" and "easily influenced, changed, or damaged". And this what makes him a strong person and makes him able to overcome hardships relatively quickly and come out stronger.

Doyoung basically said that he will continue to sing even without fans' support (and what comes with it: adoration, praise, recognition, gratitude, success, etc), his resolve won't crumble. Singing is his meaning for doing anything, the fire that warms him. Doyoung will keep that fire for himself and for anyone who will come attracted by that light to warm up themselves. That's the promise.

There is a phrase "Smile, and the world will smile with you". Only those who are OK themselves, can help others. And only those who get the energy from within (the inner drive) are really free and can make a big positive change.

To some Doyoung's tears may look like a sign of being weak and fragile, but he is showing immense strength of character right now. An example of how to stand up again after stumbling.

It's interesting how his album was about Youth and looking at one's own teen and young adult years from the end of youth as a time period, and how he chose "Rest" as one of the songs, that ended up to be so prophetic for him personally. And how the next song after it is "Dallas Love Field" (translation).
