On the left, Nothic! Wizards transformed by curses or weird knowledge, so whatever normal wizard height is. It also has manic energy as it act on impulses even it doesn't understand, and can learn random facts about you by staring! just note that it will be looking at you, and will just be constantly learning all about you while you're going at it. but hey, that means you can skip introductions and smalltalk, it'll figure it out at a glance!

On the right...OK hear me out. In lore they were all sentient, but MOST had that sentience taken away by their god on an angry whim. HOWEVER they sometimes get that sentience back, we've even seen one in a recent adventure. So we're talking about the sentient ones. I mean it is still just a 10x10 foot (3 by 3 meter) cube of acidic slime that engulfs you. but it can also form a tentacle thing to slap with!

My nothic and weasel OC fused together - they were once one person but their mind was fractured into his familiar and he was turned into a nothic. They've both been through a lot, so I drew them both smoking some wheed.

Homebrew Monster Race: the Nothic

Nothics are my single favorite monster in DND. They have such fascinating abilities, such as gazing into your very mind, and they are all delightfully insane. They are wizards who stumbled upon a curse left behind from vecna during their research, and were driven insane and mutated, often losing their magic during the transformation.

Aster continues to have a rough time on her first adventure, this time having a tense moment with her preexisting friend and study-buddy from magic school loses his cool after being provoked by a Nothic, resulting in him snapping at her. He had already previously expressed concern at her going off invisibly to chase after some gang members who had abducted a kid- the two have some issues to talk out, but not until the kid is found.

Normally Aster refers to her wizard friend by his nickname, Kelcy, but since the incident has been using his full first name, Kelcys...

The new guys’ names are Mar Cumulus (the half-elf), Tybalt (the goblin), and Micah (the nothic).
