Jumping on the “about you wanting to write more lucifer” bandwagon, don’t mind me!
I loved your ‘How to Bag an Angel’ fic so much, I’ve never read an Angel/Lucifer fic like it (and was subsequently very disappointed to find that it wasn’t a popular ship); you totally sold me on that rarepair! Absolutely zero pressure, I totally get prioritising writing for your own enjoyment, but would you ever consider writing a continuation based on Angel’s “maybe you can call me daddy”? Because that line made me go 👀
HAHA, okay, confession: I'm absolutely writing a sequel (banged out 2k words today so far baybeeee, pun intended) but it's absolutely also not going to include any daddy kink because while there are few things out there that I find too personally silly to write in a not-joking context, that is one of them.
Have a snippet as an apology:

I'm tipsy and thinking abt how margie being absolutely shitfaced drunk has consistently served to soothe Raf's paranoia each and every time it has happened.
Because when he gets drunk, he kinda becomes his worst self--the version of himself he has kind of internalized as being his "true" self; very reactive, defensive, spiteful, cynical, self pitying...
Margie drunk, on the other hand... is just... Margie, but more. Drunk margie is just... Margie on blast, lmao, more laughing, louder laughing, more affectionate, more vocal about all the things she likes and loves, more physically affectionate, more ridiculous. It's just her with all her filters and inhibitions removed, and so she's just... all of her traits are dialled to 10 and are largely socially unacceptable from anyone who isn't a lightweight drunk girl. She's a lot more trusting, too. Of everyone. She's usually very trusting, but unuprisingly, drunk margie is irresponsibly trusting.
If Raf's paranoia were to latch onto anything, it might be the notion that her drunken behavior is affirmation that he's not special--that she just acts and feels this way around literally anyone who's nice to her.
But that's not a very meaty bone for his thoughts to gnaw on--because it's always been very obvious that Margie just... loves people. And she loves being loved. She's been very straightforward about this since the very beginning. There were never any illusions about it. Still, his is the bed she returns to sleep in every night. None of these other motherfuckers at the party can say that for themselves.
When she drunkenly utters, "Let's head home," it's only ever to him.

One thing I love about Hayward in s1 is ya, sure, he's a cop. But most notably, he's not even a good cop.
Hear me out. This isn't saying Hayward does not have the intuition one would associate with your typical, glorified cop from tv shows (in chapter 40, Hayward is absolutely right in that he immediately figured Carpenter out the moment he spotted her in Marcel's Crossing) and other instances, like chapter 43, shows that he has good reflexes for moments under fire (is the first to notice Brother Philly and co. at the door and pushes Carpenter out of the way). Not to mention that Hayward was on the force since he was 19, and to survive on the force for that long means he surely had plenty of solved cases under his belt, regardless if pressure has slowly built up by the time we're introduced to him.
No, when I say he's not even a good cop I mean in the sense of: he's not good at what cops actually do.
One of the very first things Felix reminds him is to not "forget his gun this time." Implying that this has happened before, enough times for Felix to sound audibly tired about it (and he does have to go back for his gun at least two times in season 1). When Mr. Finch points a gun at him, he sits on the ground for a conversation. When asked, Hayward is confused as to why Daggler would need a knife when they find Carpenter and Faulkner's abandoned car, the thought of slashing the tires never even crossing his mind. And instead of immediately taking her into custody with no warrant whatsoever aside for his hunch, he sits down with Carpenter for an amicable conversation and a meal; only later showing his hand long enough to warn her that he's a cop and he's on to her. He's a cop and he has the Stink on him; because s1 Hayward is a bad cop. Because he does not immediately resort to violence.
(And this isn't to dismiss his role as a cop entirely, something we're never fully privy to; chapter 3 alone shows us how his mere position as a cop was enough to cause a death that could have easily been avoided, because that role prevented Hayward from providing Mr. Finch with the actual help he needed.)
Daggler is such a ridiculous, exaggerated character but he's also the picture perfect cop. The Lieutenant-Colonel sends Daggler of all people, when they think Hayward can't solve the case. And, look, we don't really know what Daggler's position on the force is compared to Hayward, but he's clearly trusted enough to be sent, to be the exception to personal gods and keep a rhetorical god. Clearly trusted enough to close the case efficiently. Yes, Daggler is utterly ridiculous when put next to Hayward but that's because Hayward is a bad cop. Daggler is the ideal: he gets results quickly (by losing patience and immediately assaulting the bookseller), he takes perps to court and wins (with the use of The Coiling Speaks, not a liar's god btw), and he knows how to tell a compelling story (because of course Carpenter tried to attack Hayward. And of course the Good Cop shot and killed the Heretic to Protect His Partner). Good publicity all around.
S1 Hayward shows that there is no "good cop;" because being "good" is antithetical to what's expected of cops. There was no way he could continue being good and being a cop, it's why the Stink was beginning to creep up on him. "You're one of them nice coppers." says Mr. Finch. Nice. Not good. Because so-called good cops are probably the first to get sacrificed; because these institutions are not built with morality in mind.

Outfit swap!
All the neighbours who usually wear trousers in skirts, and all the neighbours who usually wear skirts in trousers (or, well, dungarees and a jumpsuit...)
I had fun drawing these. Experimented with how I was colouring and shading a little!
Here's the full page and also a bonus dark version cuz I liked how it looked lmao
Eddie would still want to be professional in a skirt so he'd wear a pencil skirt even though they suck to run in because he's got to look the part!
Wally would think a flowy skirt was fun
Frank would not.

I'm really just Feeling Things tonight about the conversation with Gale after Elminster's visit and like. Gale is So Insistent that if Mystra says he needs to blow himself up, then it must be the best option. The only option. And of course he is! Because what's the alternative? If there's another way, any other way, that means either
1. Mystra doesn't care enough to consider whether there might be another option. Gale blowing himself up is the easiest solution, so that's what she goes with. Or, even worse,
2. She does know there's other options, but tells him to sacrifice himself anyways, because it gets rid of two of her problems at once.
Gale doesn't just assume she's right because she's a goddess. He goes along with it because of what it implies about him, and her, and how she sees him if there is another way. He has to believe that this is the only option. Because the alternative? That he's disposable at best and actively unwanted at worst? That's just too much to bear.

Before I go to sleep I leave you all with this piece of advice: sometimes you don't actually have to answer big political questions, sometimes you can just say "I am not smart enough to know that, I just know the small things I do to help." Like you can often times completely avoid making a fool of yourself if you just say you don't know.

The fact that A League of Their Own isn't even trending rn is honestly the worst. We lost so much but it seems like no one cares. Queer media just took a huge punch to the gut in the middle of a crowded street and y'all are just passing by.
What the hell guys, we have to DO something. Go rb posts, post your own stuff, rewatch the damn thing, anything except silence. It isn't that hard, and it will do you and the community way more good than just quiet disappointment.
Things can't stay like this, we can't let it, not again.

euughh just saw someone say that Celegorm kidnapping Lúthien to force her into marriage was "out of character" and just. I understand the urge to smooth the edges off your blorbo's flaws or whatever but if you've gotten to the point where you genuinely believe the author's portrayal of his own character isn't in line with canon then I think you just misunderstood what you read

I've seen some speculation that Moiraine and Lanfear's big confrontation will be moved forward to the end of S3. I can see that working mainly because neither really has anything much to do in The Fires of Heaven and it would make the finale of S4 less cluttered with big events.
The only reason I'd be against it is it mean losing Rosamund Pike and Natasha O'Keeffe a whole season earlier than expected, unless the writers then intended to follow Moiraine and Lanfear's experience in the world of the Finn until both come back into the main narrative, in which case I would be totally up for that. I'd love a season or two of Moiraine and Lanfear just being forced to live and work together to survive.

So uh, I kiiiinda forgot I had a HB-themed blog in the midst of me feeling the itch for HB redesigns... figured I'd might as well fix that with this recent Stolas family piece I did not too long ago-
(Now, as mentioned before on my DA post, I honestly have nothing against either Stolas, Octavia, nor Stella's canon designs.... Iiii just feel like as high-ranking demon birds, a lil "variety" tweaked in could lowkey go a long way the more I thought about it?)
Aaaand here, here's a quick lil rundown of what I had in mind for my own personal interpretations (AU, HC? Idk what exact term fits best but... *shrugs*):
DA Link~
For Stolas, I tried to tone down all the black & red from his previous design to a more "autumn sunset sky"-aesthetic (+ditched the big top hat 'cause like... you're a royal my dude, don't you just need a crown? lol), gave him a gradient starry cape instead of that old ripped one 'cause I always loved how the star cape looked on him from the "Ozzie's" episode, popped in some grey streaks in his hair, and then finally unified his outfit to a purple & black theme like a classic Disney villain~
For Octavia, I went with a classy "indigo night sky" vibe with lil gold accents, then shortened her hair to a fanned bob (kiiinda looking like bird wings, in a way?) along with adding some more "blended" features from her mom and dad just 'cause .3.
As for Stella... honestly I've fallen *way* too in love with the "Stella is a Swan" fan-theory ('cause yknow... she's all-white, black & pink beaked, elegant-looking but bitchy af in-person, etc.) that I couldn't resist incorporating more swan-y vibes to her design. Then I relaxed her big choppy hair to a more "refined" half-up/half-down style (+some extra feather tufts to still fit with her peacock bro Andrealphus), gave her more of a mermaid-shaped dress to fit her regal noble-lady vibe, then I simply left it a gradient pink/black in terms of colors 'cause... idk, it just reminded me alot of fancy Chanel-aesthetics~

the thing about megumi is that. he's just a kid. he's been pretending to be an adult since he was five and he's fooled a lot of people. he drinks black coffee, he reads nonfiction books, he doesn't get involved with the others' antics, he pretends he doesn't care. he emulates the adults he's known - detaches himself like his father, places himself in the background like his step-mother, takes on the responsibility of protection like gojo - but he's not an adult. he's fifteen. he's scared, and he's miserable, and he keeps losing everyone he's cared about. tsumiki was cursed, itadori was sentenced to death, gojo was sealed, tsumiki was possessed, and of course everything inside of him shattered. he's been masquerading as someone years older than he is for his entire life, until he snapped in half, because he is a child. and he craves love just as much as anyone else, even if he's been made to believe he should be stronger than that. he's fifteen years old. he should be doing algebra homework and standing in tsumiki's bedroom doorway just to be an annoying little sibling and fighting with gojo over stupid things like curfew times or wanting a pet and instead, he threw himself headfirst into a sorcerer death match and lost everything including himself and he was using all the energy he had left in a last-ditch effort to protect his friends because he loves them and he loves and he loves and he loves and sukuna knew he could take advantage of that because if you look at megumi beneath the surface for even a moment, it's so obvious that he's just a kid who loves too much for his own good. he tries to hide it because he knows it will only hurt in the end, but he's fifteen and he never figured out how to truly erase his ability to care for others and when he's broken down to his bare essentials, when everything is gone but the shattered remains of his soul, what remains is a fifteen year old kid who just wants to be loved

legitimately insane how to some people, "we should wipe out this ethnic group that we've violently constrained to a ghetto because they're just genetically more violent and dangerous" is a reasonable and justifiable statement but it's Nazi Rhetoric to say something like, "it's bad that Israeli civilians are being killed but acknowledging that as tragic includes acknowledging that the almost daily state-sanctioned murder of civilians by the Israeli government is also tragic and unacceptable"
btw guys speaking of Nazi shit - can we check in, alongside what's been done to Palestinians in the last 75 years, what's the Israeli government's take on the Azerbaijani government's newest round of ethnic cleansing of Armenians? oh are the Israeli government's actions maybe not determined by Jewish identity, but by a commitment to colonial supremacy which puts them on the same page as other violently genocidal states like Azerbaijan, the US, and the UK? god can you Even Imagine?
(framing speaking against Israeli war crimes as inherently antisemitic requires understanding the Israeli state as representing all Jewish people, when it doesn't even represent all Israelis.
framing Israeli war crimes as synonymous with Jewish identity is pretty fucked up if we're being honest. I don't think that controlling water and power and movement for a captive population and shooting children dead for throwing stones is an inherent value of Judaism, any more than I think the torture carried out at Guantanamo Bay is an inherent value of Christianity - in both cases they're atrocities carried out by a far right genocidal government using religious identity as a shield.
Calling statements like "Israel is committing genocide against the people it's displaced" inherently antisemitic is doing more to further the idea that all Jewish people are associated with Israel than saying "the Israeli government is doing war crimes," which is a statement of fact about a country that exists and does war crimes. Is criticism of Israel as a nation often used as cover for antisemitism? Absolutely. Does that mean the Israeli government isn't doing literal war crimes repeatedly, on record, while talking publicly about scrubbing an ethnic group off the map? Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh well in the last 48 hours they've definitely cut off water and power to almost 600,000 civilians and allegedly used white phosphorus against civilians so in an extremely factual and unambiguous way yeah man those are Literal War Crimes whoever does them.)

After pondering on it for several days, I have officially decided I did not like the direction of KFP4 and have banished it from my brain. It is no longer canon. KFP4? What's that? Don't know what you're talking about.

I feel like i'm going crazy again. It was the same when I worked full time before i went off to college. I have no life. I just go to work, sleep then back to work. It's long hours, headache inducing, and I can't say no to people so I put myself into so much more stress.
I can barely do anything I like anymore, making time for what I have to do (studying my instrument for example) is hard and anything I can enjoy other than music is impossible. No time to sit down and let myself be creative. My head hurts. I've stopped reading a fic I was so excited about weeks ago. I am so tired.
I only ever see my mom outside of my colleagues and that's every other day because I work at night and wake up late. I've not seen my friends in weeks. I barely get to talk to them. Everyone seems very far away. Holding a conversation is becoming so hard.
I want to cry. I want to cry so bad. But I just can't. It takes too much time. I can't let my emotions' dam open because I don't know how long it'll take me to go back to normal. I feel insane.
