Looking at r/Deltarune to see what theories ppl have come up with based on That One Valentine and it’s soooooooo funny to me that every single post about it is the same. Actual quotes from the subreddit:

“How do we know this is gaster”

“Why else would it mention the letter being impossible to understand at the start”

“It doesn’t have the signature stilted tone gaster’s always had”

“It doesn’t read like gaster in English at all”

“I feel like the beginning narration, the all caps, and the style of writing clearly point to gaster”

“We have no real reason to think he’d talk this way… ever”

It’s back and forth with these general opinions, especially of ‘oh that’s not how he talks’ and I’m just sitting here like

1. When you are a scientist, you do not necessarily talk the same in academic contexts as you do in casual contexts. For the most part, I speak COMPLETELY differently from my papers I’ve written for school compared to when I’m flirting with my partner.

Cywhirl vs. Cygate: it’s about the aesthetics too

I’m about to make my ship opinion way more complicated than it needs to be :]

These take into account the colors, frame sizes, shapes, and relational dynamic of each. (And yes, I used the eye dropper tool for this, so the colors are definitely accurate.)

The Cygate image isn’t objectively ugly; in fact, I can see why some might like how it looks and feels.

However, I have a strong personal preference for everything about the Cywhirl image.

One character’s colors don’t dominate or drown out the other’s with their intensity. Neither side draws the eye away from the other. There’s balance in color and form.

Meanwhile, the contrast in Tailgate’s colors makes them seem stronger than Cyclonus.’ Tailgate is the focal point. There’s a clear imbalance in both color and form.

So, while Cygate is fun to look at with its pretty colors and contrast, Cywhirl feels more solid. More significant.

Aesthetic harmony isn’t everything, of course. This isn’t some kind of hard-and-fast rule for me.

There are ships I like that don’t adhere to any “rule” of aesthetics. Simpatico is one such case. Nautistorm is aesthetically superior to me, but something else more significant keeps me coming back to Simpatico.

However, in the case of Cywhirl vs. Cygate, because of my dislike for the latter, the aesthetic juxtaposition of the two relationships stands out to me way more.

Ok random question, pick an LU Link and what you think their ideal Pokémon team would be

I’m... probably not going to go past sun/moon for my choices since that’s what I’m most familiar with, jsyk XD These are also based mostly on vibes and not necessarily practicality in battle so there’s that too. He’s probably got type weaknesses all over the place.

Hyrule obviously goes for fairy types most of the time, though he doesn’t have just fairies. I think he would generally have more normal-looking Pokémon too, to fit with his sort of unassuming appearance, but they would be stronger than people would expect. So here’s my picks—

Klefki, Volcarona, Bastiodon, Comfey, Jumpluff, and Raikou.

I’m giving him a Klefki because finding and using keys are such a zelda thing, and Hyrule was the first so it makes sense for him. His official art even has him with a key around his neck. Plus Klefki are partially fairy type, so it’s fitting!

Volcarona is in reference to his fire spell, and it has sort of a fairy look about it, so I think it fits him. I don’t have much reasoning other then that.

Bastiodon is like his reflect spell, it has excellent defense, plus it looks kinda like a castle so I like that. It sorta fits with the possible king Hyrule thing. Plus a Shieldon just speaks Hyrule to me, I dunno why.

Comfey is in reference to his healing spell, plus the fairy thing too. I also just like Hyrule having tiny Pokémon that turn out to be super useful, so that’s also why.

Another Pokémon that looks a little silly but actually isn’t half bad, plus Jumpluff... jump spell... I think I’m funny. I mostly picked it because I thought of the other five pretty quick and then wasn’t sure about a sixth one lol

I say he gets to have at least one legendary, okay? I wasn’t sure at first if I should go with Xerneas or something else, but he has enough fairy types, and then I was like “yknow I think Raikou would be cool for him” so he has Raikou. And it’s like, THE thunder Pokémon, so it’s perfect for him.

bruh. I don't even know. I agree, she'd come up with her own bull-headed solution. Her mind doesn't twist into labyrinths like Harrow's. Building a construct out of her own skull to enforce a self-administered lobotomy was a uniquely Nonagesimus kind of solution.

Harrow Nova absolutely would sacrifice herself for Gideon. She'd do it gladly, if she thought it would save her necromancer's life. She might do it believing this was the reason the universe had suffered her to exist at all; so she could use her ill-gotten life to fuel Gideon's ascension. And Gideon would.....

It depends on the situation, but I think Gideon might say no. To all of it. She would refuse to elevate herself at Harrow's expense, to derive further privilege from Harrow's suffering. She'd find some way to keep Harrow without consuming her at all, and not become a lyctor. Trap Harrow's soul and stuff it in a jar. Hold onto the pieces of her until she can figure out how to fix them and put them back together.

That is, of course, assuming she'd be able to survive without becoming a lyctor. Which I am assuming because the thing Gideon knows, and Harrow mercifully doesn't, is that Cytherea didn't intend to kill Gideon. She says as much before Harrow gets there, right after Palamedes went off.

If she had to take a nibble to survive, and started the process? Fuck, man. She'd wish really, really, hard? We don't know, it might work. Pyrrha survived without any elective surgery, and our Gideon is very very good at not looking into the parts of her brain she doesn't want to see, and not thinking about things she isn't ready to understand. She might end up exactly like the Gideon before her, blacking out and losing time and having no idea why because her secretive bodymate elected not to enlighten her as to her continued existence.

Or, and this is a fun one, she might go 'welp, can't eat her if I'm not here!' and put herself into a coma. My favourite scenario for this is that it yeets her soul right out of her body and into the River before she's even been taught how to do that, and Harrow is left behind in her body to be a broken lyctor who can't necromancy. The more things change...

Look let it be known I'm not exactly a canon hound I don't care for what is and isn't canon in Fallout. I'm doing whatever I don't care. But I do care about Bethesda's mission to make the entire franchise BORING.

The NCR falling bc of one guy with a nuke instead of under the weight of its own imperialism and unthinking recreation of America is BORING.

The bombs being dropped by a shadowy group of rich people for like the fun of it instead the result of the violent fervor of two countries fighting with little interest in the people they'd kill or the mutually assured destruction they'd wreck is BORING.

Romantic or platonic—these two are to remain together at all times.

I know they’re technically canon, but I marked that box anyway because Tailgate is an unnecessary third wheel who messes up the balance.

Others have done an amazing job of articulating why Cywhirl is so compelling, but one of the biggest things that stands out to me personally is that, despite their discomfort with their own and others’ emotions, they’re able to cut to the heart of matters faster and better than most couples learn to do in a lifetime, and with way less emotional turmoil.

How do I explain this…

i don't actually know how involved james somerton actually was in the 2010s halifax queer community — i was pretty deeply involved and i don't have any memory of meeting him at any events, but that doesn't mean anything since it was 10-15 years ago lmao — but a lot of his claims read very much like 2010-2014 tumblr discourse points. making up "facts" about queer history that are hard to fact-check because it's hard to prove a negative, arguing about intentions when it's impossible to prove a person's intention unless they state it, the rampant misogyny disguised as disgust at "straight white women fangirls", etc. etc. etc.

so either he legitimately just never got out of the 2010s tumblr mindset, or he decided to rehash all of that bullshit in order to profit off of his audience, many of whom are too young or too not-online (lucky them) to have witnessed the discourse wars of this hellsite in particular, or who are being influenced by the discourse renaissance on twitter and tiktok. he sounds like an authority on queer history and politics the same way, hm, who can i use as an example, beachdeath perhaps, sounded like an authority on the subjects at the time. which is just the verbal equivalent of using italics and bolding text and being strident and aggressive with anyone questioning sources or claims.

and given that he's a plagiarist and bad-faith actor, i highly suspect that it's rehashing the bullshit for profit, using and twisting other people's words, instead of legitimately being stuck in 2012 ideologically. but as someone who was also in the online queer communities of the early 2010s, and who was a queer student activist in the same city as him around that same time, i find his continued use of the harmful rhetoric that sprung up for his own profit and his acting like he's the arbiter of queer experience and media studies extremely troubling given my own experiences with both communities.

Not a Transformers Post but a Brave Series Post/Rant…. More Specifically Brave Police and Da Garn…. My ass could not live in these Worlds because I don’t let certain things characters do slide

When she was introduced I did not like her, nor Duke because they were both Tightasses. But as the episodes progressed she kinda eased up, I felt for her a bit after he backstory was revealed but I still don’t like her. And honestly I let her know once that I don’t like her nor do I forgive her for the shit she ALMOST tried to do to Deckerd before having a change of Heart and remembering Emotions aren’t a damn weakness. I’ll probably let it go at some point but just that- that was irritating

As for Da-Garn:

THIS DOUCHE CAN KICK ROCKS AND THAT PRINCE TOO. The 180 this dude had after being the BANE of Both Seji and the other Braves existence can kiss my hind quarters. Also KILLING ONE OF THE BRAVES, I really cannot with Seven Changer! I’d let his Metallic Ass have it if I was Seji place because NOW you wanna work together after the SEVERAL TIMES YOU TRIED TO KILL ME?!!
