sorry my post is just to complain but guys i literally hate adobe after effects. i can not explain to you the mental torture and how LOW it has brought my mental health because I *need* to use it for my post production class because it's "industry standard". ADOBE After Effects has made me write off the entire film and video production industry as a turn off and I never want to do it ever again.
The amount of times this has crashed on me where I lost everything? 5+ hours of work? 8+ hours of work? It's my fault for not saving sometimes but I also have auto-save on. it didn't save anything so im just left with nothing.
You want a trip to burn out town really quick? Use adobe after effects in an academic setting where you have no choice but to use this program.
I have never in my life TOUCHED a program SO TERRIBLE that it made me never want to do anything about that form of art/media EVER AGAIN
#I'm ALSO going in and out of the hospital these past few weeks so im just bawling and crying and crying over losing this project just now#because it was due 3 days ago#and i cant finish it becvause i loste verything#im sorry to everyone reading this i just feel like an insane person#like if i tried to explain this to someone theyd just tell me to stop crying and to get over it#anyway cannot recommend adobe after effects any fucking less#never join advertising/film industry i guess?#im so miserable right now. with a push of a button on my keyboard kira kills 100+ fish.....
#shut up danni's talking#okay this is super niche but there's a game called megaquarium which is really fun for me personally#anyways you build an aquarium and it balances a wonderful line of complicated and simple#and every now and then i overhaul my whole aquarium by disconnecting tanks from their filters so i can move stuff around#so i always do this overhaul on pause so i don't kill my fish while im moving everything bc the maintenance on the tech is VERY annoying#anyways to unpause you need to press the spacebar button and bc literally no tanks were connected to life support.....#kira walked over my keyboard and the game was unpaused for at least 2 minutes which was enough to kill 100+ fish#not all of them but a significant number of them yikes#its just kinda annoying bc some have to grow up to a certain size before they can join the tank i want them in otherwise they'll get eaten#*sigh* oh well i just find it slightly amusing bc cats eat fish lmao#kitty kira

#im posting this very late because i was sort of weary of how it came out and ended up messing w it until it was like 4am oops.#and i have plans tmrw so... oh well! i did my best and ill put it out while i can!#and i tried to make the scene match barnard's colors lol#finn's ocs#finn's art#i know i said id do more sillay stuff with the simpler screentone only style but i had a couple more of these in me#and this is the first piece im making thats like an actual part of the story too rather than just setting stuff for fun#i wanna write something to go with it too but for now ill just sort of briefly explain the context in the tags here:#barnard has a pretty bad case of OCD and his compulsions have made it difficult to make friends in the past#he was never outright bullied or anything but people just didnt really have the patience to deal with it#he has compulsions that include stuff like walking through doors until it feels right and needing things to be perfectly aligned#which in group settings has lead to people having to wait for him to finish his rituals and join them#they might find it tolerable at first but eventually they grow impatient and hes just... not invited to stuff anymore#but juno is a newer member of the guild who ends up frequenting the same library. hes also kinda a little weird#and they dont become fast friends or anything but just sort of naturally spend time in the same place#though they never plan meetups they eventually fall into a routine. around the same time theyd just both be at the library#and read next to each other. and maybe talk a bit. and eventually they end up walking back to the guildhall together#since theyre going to the same place after all. and juno always waits for barnard outside the door#eventually barnard asks if this bothers him. juno kinda just tells him 'of course it does' without any malice or anything. just a statement#barnard is surprised and apologizes and juno says not to. but the next day juno doesnt show up at the usual time.#barnard assumes hes committed somekinda more by bringing it up. he ends up staying there late reading to get his mind off it & not ruminate#but when he leaves juno is in fact still waiting for him down the hall (see pic) having collected a bunch of books literally abt ocd#he fell asleep bc barnard stayed later than expected. and hes an eepy guy generally. and also one very bad at expressing himself#but now barnard gets that juno's 'of course it [bothers me]' had the implication of 'but its worth it' which no friend has previously done.#and from the interaction juno was also able to understand that this isn't something barnard just does for the hell of it so. he studies.#and checks a bunch of stuff out because he thinks it could help his friend too (theres ocd workbooks and such- i remember working w them)#and thats the point where they became more ''friends'' than ''pleasant library acquaintances''#from there on they also do get into juno's problems. whole other bag of worms. but this specific scene is more about bernard from his pov#sorry about when i said briefly explain. i lied </3#but compared to the whole sequence im picturing its brief so shhh

got THREE NEW PLANTS for my room today. all for the SWEET SWEET PRICE of £6.50. thats cheaper than TWO COFFEES. and i dont even DRINK COFFEE. so on EVERY LEVEL im WINNING.
#the uni su fair had a little stall selling plants w/ student discount...i bought two and then because i spent over £5 i got to spin a little#wheel to win a prize and i won another little plant im so happy with them who would like to see (tumbleweed. crickets. dead air)...fair#was FUN got loads of free stuff drank many a free sample of tonic wine at 11am in the morning...thinking of joining somestuff too i wanna#try writing for the uni magazine and maybe join the subject netball team although im a bit intimidated you get some people who do NAWT#play when it comes to netball. ironically. and also unless i can play centre/wa i fear im pretty much useless...ALSO thinking of trying the#jive class which sounds silly but how fun would it be to know how to jive. like thats so fun. and my friend is trying tango class i think..#we'll see!! also went 2 ikea with my best friend got snacks and now im back home : ^ ) happy friday!!!#(ridi's) bigmouth strikes again

I don't know if this is a hot take but halsin is hands down the worst companion and that could be easily solved by having him join you at the beginning of act 2 and giving him literally anything to do in act 3 except hit on you
#his pacing is all fucked up. why does he only join your party once you're basically done with his quest#like when he didn't join my party once he joined my camp I was like okay makes sense I guess#like I still went and met the hag and to the gith creche and fucked around in the underdark and stuff#he had no reason to join me#then we went to the shadow cursed lands so I went to camp to talk to him and still nothing. okay whatever let's keep going#then at last light inn I talked to the fist guy and then talked to halsin and he was like oh I'll meet you there#and I was like that's it. the moment he joins the party to try and solve this thing#no!!! still just sending me out to di his errands#like by the time he joins you the only thing left from his plotline is the oliver thing#after that he just hangs ariynd and talks abt nature like butch I'm a druid too get a goddamn personality#also doesn't help that you recruit him around the same time a jaheira who's also an old wise druid#but has a much more interesting and fun personality and an actual fun plotline and quest in act 3#like having her really just makes it more obvious halsin has nothing going on#and like his romance would also work way better and not feels so out of nowhere if he joined you earlier#cause the way it is now it feels so out of the blue like you joined my party yesterday why are you already trynna fuck#have some couth

All the tour groups in Springfield should be very proud of me for how well I refrained from sharing all my fascinating Lincoln facts.
#there were so many school groups!#a giant one came in RIGHT AFTER i entered lincoln's cabinet room#part of me was screaming 'children i NEED to tell you about all these idiots and their insane drama!'#a smarter part of me understood that would be super weird#so instead i regaled different individuals of my own traveling party after we had the room to ourselves#then at lincoln's tomb we lucked out in getting there during the ten minutes of the day when school groups weren't there#which meant we got a personal tour from a guide who seemed thrilled to have grown-ups to talk to#he and my dad chatted about fishing for a long while in the entry#it didn't feel disrespectful because it totally felt like the kind of conversation lincoln would have understood and joined in on#and then we went on our way but the guide then chased us down to share all the fascinating lincoln stories as we went along#(shout-out to lefty you were great)#and then a school group found us so we made a graceful exit#but outside a teacher was explaining to a different group about how robert was significant in his own right so he's buried at arlington#and the RESTRAINT i showed in not immediately informing them that he was present at three presidential assassinations! it was rather heroic#and then when we toured lincoln's house the guide (who accidentally made it clear he was a revolutionary war buff)#(which made it a bit hilarious he was stuck with lincoln)#asked for questions before we started and someone asked about lincoln's 1860 election campaign!#aka one of my SPECIAL NICHE AREAS OF OBSESSION!#you cannot imagine how desperately i wanted to tell him ALL ABOUT seward and thurlow weed#anyway it was fun to go back now that i actually know stuff about lincoln#but it was also a bit frustrating because now i know how much they leave out#(though there was cool new info and artifacts)#(the blood-stained piece of laura keene's dress was very morbid and very cool)#also it reminded me that i still have that book on the 1860 election i've yet to read and the hype is so real#presidential talk
