• mayu is a collector of oddities (bones, preserved animals, etc.)... i think she goes to a specifically ghoul-owned oddity shop that sells human-centered oddities... like preserved organs/body parts and human bones and whatnot. they decorate her apartment.

• i personally headcanon her to be a transfem enby who uses she/it pronouns. she's also a lesbian and has known she's a lesbian for a long time. she takes particular pleasure in men's suffering bc she hates them lmaooo.

• she has a very unique sense of style. it's certainly alternative but i feel like it's a big mixture of all sorts of alternative subcultures. her favorite kind of clothing items are shoes and she has a sizable shoe collection. the majority are heeled or platformed. she does have a few pairs of flat sneakers i think, though.

• we know most of her victims are her dominatrix clients... i think she steals their watches, wedding rings and whatever's valuable off of them when she's done with them. she makes pretty decent money nowadays but it's a habit she picked up from when she first started out to make more money buy pawning them off. i think nowadays she keeps them more as trophies though, or she keeps them around in case she ends up poor again and needs to pawn them off to get some money to remain housed and whatnot lol. definitely steals their wallets and money still too.

• her nails are always neatly manicured and painted but she never gets acrylics for.... lesbian purposes.

• i think she is afraid of dogs because i feel like it's pretty implied that she was impoverished and/or homeless as a child, and i headcanon she had a nasty run in with dogs chasing her as a child that really traumatized her.

• she really enjoys metal, hardcore and punk music. she's a frequenter of local shows at her favorite venues. aside from when harvesting men's testicles, in the mosh pit is one of the times she feels the most alive.

• i think she is very artistic. art is her favorite way to express her emotions. i feel like painting is her preferred medium, but she also really likes collaging. she collects old magazines a lot to cut things out of them for her collages.

• she got rid all photos from her childhood. she hates that part of her life and wants any evidence of it ever happening destroyed. never opens up to anyone about it... until getting close with rize.

• her kagune bloomed pretty late!! i can't remember what age it's typical for ghouls' kagunes to present but hers happened after than typical time.

If your working with Lethal Company, how about a situation where the reader isn't scared of the Nutcracker, but is crazy enough to try and befriend it cause they like the fairytale that much?

OOO this is a big brain idea-

Nutcrackers stress me out,,but oh to befriend them..

.....

With the quota constantly rising, you and your team had to take greater risks on moons with more hostile creatures roaming about....all for the sake of selling scrap.

You four had different roles: One was a scouter, the second a budget manager, the third a fighter (they never left the ship without a shovel or zap gun), and you manned the ship while everyone else explored the facilities.

You watched the monitors and chatted with them through walkie-talkies, alerting them to loot or danger.

Although you've saved their lives more times than you could count on both hands, you kinda got bored and wanted to help collect scrap yourself.

One day, the bestiary on the terminal gets updated with a new creature:

The Nutcracker.

Not long afterwards, everyone returned to the ship freaking the fuck out. Nobody died, and the loot was decent, but they were very much shaken-up by this "Nutcracker" entity they encountered.

It apparently had a shotgun that made them all nearly deaf upon firing AND came close to blowing their brains out.

Yet viewing its model on the terminal did awaken a little bit of childhood nostalgia in you, seeing as it looked like a life-sized nutcracker soldier.

Back on Earth, you loved that fairytale: The Nutcracker and the Mouse.

You even watched performances of the ballet/suite around Christmas.

Least to say, you weren't scared of it..and you wanted to actually see this entity for yourself.

Your team opposed it, until one employee mentioned their scanner registered the shotgun as scrap--and you volunteered to go retrieve it since it could set you above the quota.

Obviously you weren't gonna do that, but managed to convince them to let you go alone.

So you get teleported into the facility, almost immediately spotting the Nutcracker on its patrol, walking around like a true soldier and clicking as it surveyed its surroundings.

You notice the upper half of its head extending, revealing a grisly fleshy eye in its "mouth" as it rotated around.

Now you knew it was likely just a machine controlled by a parasite, but you were still fascinated by it nevertheless.

Then your walkie talkie goes off.

"Hurry up, we leave at midni-"

You instantly turn it off, yet the Nutcracker was alerted.

Next thing you knew, it swung around the corner you were hiding, loading two bullets into it shotgun as it stomped closer and closer...

That's when you got an insane idea and pulled out some items you've held onto since starting this job:

A hard copy of the original Nutcracker tale and a smaller figurine of the soldier.

They were comforts from your childhood. You'd never sell them as scrap. Not even if they're worth a million dollars.

You see the entity hesitate, before the eye reveals itself again and stares at your treasured collectibles.

"I-I always liked your stories and ballets.." You stammer out, still facing down the barrel of its gun, knowing death could await you at any moment. "Could we....maybe be friends, Nutcracker, sir?"

You doubt the damn thing could even understand you...

But then it suddenly shifts its focus back on you and raises its gun, opening fire-

Yet you don't drop dead.

Instead you hear the hiss of a Bracken who was mere centimeters away from snapping your neck, and you realize a bullet tore through one of its leaves.

It looked betrayed, but the Nutcracker's one-eyed glare sent it scurrying back into the shadows.

Apparently it was scared of brief eye contact from all creatures, not just humans.

You couldn't believe what just happened.

The Nutcracker...defended you?

You began to thank it for saving your life, but it's cut short when you're teleported back to the ship and your crew is relieved it's not your dead body.

Yet they'd call you crazy if you even implied that you somehow befriended the entity that just tried killing them all...

So you keep this secret locked away in your journal, wondering if there's other Nutcrackers out there who'd act like the one who saved you.

His nicknames to you are : Darling, Love, Sweetheart, kiddo/kid, my dear, prince/princess/prinxe/prinxess but he mainly calls you mousling

When someone‘s does any harm to you then he would make sure they‘ll regret it fast as they can blink

When you both playing any games he would intentionally underestimate you so you‘ll get the win

Totally sing you to sleep, especially coming up with rhymes

His little age would be 4-6, his oldest is around 8 years old

Regress due to him forcing himself to grow up fast when he was young and this is to regain the childhood he took for granted & also to deal with stress

Demanding kiddo ! Would stomp with his foot until he gets what he wanted

He would transform soldiers who displeased his into wooden toys or plush dolls & he would play " battles " with them

He‘s a sweet tooth which unfortunately results him to have a sugar rush sometimes

His favorite activity is reading but he prefers stories with dark twists. His favorite books are " scary stories to tell in the dark trilogy " and " grim‘s dark fairytales ". He secretly likes " the little prince " book but ssshhh

He also likes to explore but when going too far he’ll get fussy

His little nicknames are : pipsqueak { to annoy him }, little price, dearly, kiddo, lad, mousy, mouseling and my boy

He has a bad habit of bottling up sad emotions but when he’s little or younger ( like 4 years ) he won‘t be able to pull himself together and start crying until he calms down

The Nutcracker Headcanons- The Land of Sweets

Do people write fanfic about ballets? I dunno, but I am today so here we go-

🍬 The Land of Sweets is a Fairytopia. There are different types of fairy powers and groups. I picture it as similar to the Tinkerbell movies where a fairy is born and they're given a group to join based on their natural abilities and talents.

🍭 Their whole thing is candy. They grow candy, harvest it, and it's what everyone in the Kingdom eats. Some candy, like cotton candy, can even be made into clothing and other items.

🍬 The Snowflakes are in charge of protection and guarding. They are the knights and soldiers of the kingdom. They are the ones who lead Clara and the Nutcracker to the land of sweets when they wind up lost in the forest. The leader of them is General Blanc.

🍭 The Royal Family are the Sugarplums. There is Queen Bon-Bon (the sugarplum fairy,) her husband, and their kids; one of whom is the prince who gets turned into the Nutcracker.

🍬 The Dewdrops are in charge of distributing the candy to neighboring kingdoms. Their leader is Duchess Rose, who I like to think is Queen Bon-Bon's best friend.

🍭 The Marzipans and Candy Canes are farmers. They are the head ones in charge of making sure that the candy farms are in check and going well for best candy production. Marzipan leader is Lady Douce (douce means sweet in French, as the marzipan dance is sometimes called the French variation) and the Candy Cane leader is Lady Myata (mint in Russian.)

🍬 There are three sources of liquid in the kingdom. The hot chocolate sea, the coffee waterfall and the tea river. They are where the sprites live.

🍭 The Coffee sprites' leader is called Viscountess Yashrab (drink in Arabic;) Hot chocolate, Baroness Cacao (cocoa in Spanish;) Tea, Countess Chá (tea in Chinese.) They all manage their respective land and make sure everything goes smoothly.

🍬 There are more groups too, as there are many jobs to do in a kingdom. But that would take forever to go through lol these are just the main ones.

🍭 The Prince is the heir to the throne and Clara becomes a fairy and the queen when they marry. I picture it like when Thumbelina gets wings when she marries Cornelius.

🍬 Since ballet is very female dominated, The Land of the Sweets is a matriarchy because I say so. Very Barbieland.

🍭 Clara is allowed to become the next queen because of the fact she helped to defeat the Rat King, who was the Kingdom's biggest enemy.

Flip Mouse King Headcanons (Barbie in the Nutcracker)

As a Caregiver:

Thanks to his staff, it’s easy to shrink you down to a more childish size. He does this fairly often, just because he likes to see how excited you get.

He can also use his staff to conjure up fun toys or tasty treats for you.

When you play together, and especially when your games are competitive, he intentionally “underestimates” you so that you get to be the victor.

Parthenia is a fantastic and bizarre place, and he loves to take you out exploring.

He’s amazing at coming up with poems on the fly, and often recites some specially for you. “Little child, sweet and dear, I’ll make sure you have nothing to fear.”

As a Regressor

He is a super demanding kiddo. He wants everything, and he wants it now!

He turns the soldiers who disappoint him into wooden toys and spends hours staging battles with them.

One of his favorite things to do while regressed is read, but he hates stories with happy endings. Give him a book with a dark twist any day!

He still likes exploring while regressed, but only places near the castle. Too much walking makes him fussy.

He absolutely loves to harass Pimm, and constantly comes up with new ways to annoy the bat.

Hi there! For the soon and fast approaching Christmas, how would the cast react to their SO star in the ballet version of the nutcracker? Would they want to be in the front row? would they want to be backstage and celebrate in person before the show happens? ect ect..

I love the Nutcracker ballet! I used to see it every Christmas Season as a kid :')

HENRY: Front row, right where you can see them from wherever you are on stage. Looks / is pretty bored except for the scenes where you're performing! Has like a dozen bouquets sent to you post-show.

LYRA: Would want to be backstage if she's able to. Likes to watch from a closer, more personal viewpoint (if that makes sense?) Definitely sneaks in alcohol pre-show (+ is a bit grumpy that you explain that you can't drink before the show).

ELIJAH: Would probably be in the middle row, given that he'd bring along his entire family to see the show! (Would definitely inspire Claire to pursue ballet / or just have a interest in it)! Would have a bouquet as well + would wait outside the backstage area to give it to you.

SANDY: Would like to be front row, so she can see everything front + center! Genuinely enjoys the whole production + would end up backstage the moment the show's over (even if security did their best to prevent her from doing so LOL). Has candy + water / a drink for you + takes you out to dinner after if you're up for it ^^

Well, I can try, this isn’t exactly coalesced into a sense-making thing

OK SO,

There ARE more storyspinners in the ‘real’ world, among other kinds of magic, this is a magical world.

Magic is generally kept secret. This world isn’t modern it’s kinda more 1910s-1920s-1930s-ish (tbh, generally, think Tintin-esque) so the magical stuff is not that difficult to hide from the wider world. There is a kind of global supernatural community, people in the know, magic users, etc.

This world kind of crosses paths with several others, including the fairytale land that Siegfried originated from. Travel back and forth is possible, but not easy or simple, unless you have direct connection to one (which is the case with Seigfried and Rue, with Siegfried being from there and Rue carrying The Raven’s blood, and The Raven having originally come from there) (This means that Siegfried would have trouble returning to the ‘real’ world on his own, but Rue wouldn’t, because she has connections to both) (This part is going a li’l bit Namesake I’ll admit)

Kinkan was kinda like an SCP, but with no SCP Foundation to deal with it. Some people went in and were never seen again, but the majority of the time, people would go in and come out, apparently none the worse for wear, except for the fact that their memories were a bit wonky and spotty.

So, like, let’s say Anteaterina was from the outside. She’d be able to remember a lot of the basics of what happened, like that she tried to steal another girl’s boyfriend as revenge for some snub, and somebody talked her down, but she wouldn’t remember the specifics, and probably chock that up to a more rational explanation, like stress from the school year.

Kinkan was also sealed off from outside magical influence. Essentially, the broader supernatural community was AWARE of Kinkan being weird, but nobody could do anything about it. They couldn’t even find out why, if anyone tried to go in, they’d just get pulled into the story, and either vanish, or get spat out with still no idea what Kinkan’s deal is.

So, the vague plot I had in my brainspace involved:

After Drosselmeyer’s power was broken, it takes a while for word to spread, but once it does, you’ve got folks in-the-know coming from miles around to try and find out just what’s been going on with this seemingly random German town over the past century or so. This leads to a small seaplane landing on the lake, which Duck witnesses while Fakir is off talking to an in-the-know person from outside, learning about the situation. Duck sees a few other Kinkan residents being like ‘wtf is that thing?’ and runs face first into the realisation that SHE recognised that it was a plane. Why does SHE know what a plane is? Also, she’s got memories of like... Maybe a DAY/WEEK before Drosselmeyer approached her?

(This did also involve a Duck-gets-to-stay-a-girl headcanon, I admit. She then sees an older girl disembark who bears a STRIKING resemblance to human Duck. Fakir is also informed that Duck should’ve turned back into a normal duck by now, and asked if he’s ABSOLUTELY certain she’s 100% just a duck.)

(Duck’s past was that she’d been part of a li’l kinda Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers/Tintin esque mystery-solving/adventure-having type operation with her elder sister and... I never decided whether it was their dad, their uncle, or even just their wheelman, he was like their Captain Haddock equivalent. Eventually, an incident unrelated to Kinkan led to Duck getting turned into a literal duck, and Drosselmeyer sort of stumbled across her and decided to be opportunistic in finding his Princess Tutu.)

(What follows is... Plot of some description that’s as far as I ever got. A lot of this is a kinda gateway to the outside world and what it’s like out there.)

Various Headcanons:

Paulamoni and the troupe actually DO remember Duck, even though the rest of Kinkan doesn’t. This is because the story didn’t censor the memory of Duck on their way out, because as far as they knew she was a normal kid, and they weren’t present when Drosselmeyer’s power was fully broken. Same goes for Raetsel.

Drosselmeyer throughly screwed himself over picking Duck to be Princess Tutu, but he didn’t know enough about the ‘real’ world a century after his death to know it. She’d already been the beating, bleeding heart of the Rescue Rangers group, the one talking people back from terrible decisions and the like. He found in Duck both the best possible Princess Tutu and the worst for his plans.

I sometimes called Duck’s sister Goose. I sometimes was inclined to think ‘Duck’ was a nickname, based on following their mom/grandma around when she was little.

Duck was always in love with ballet, and the one she first saw as a kid was Sleeping Beauty.

It takes a couple days before Fakir and Ahiru get the chance to compare notes. Obviously she can’t tell him as a duck that she saw someone who looked like her, and he’s not sure what to make of being told that Duck might not’ve been just a Duck, so it takes him some time before he comes round to taking it as permission to write Duck back into a girl, if only to discuss it.

Fakir has some relation to the supernatural community in the outside world, via his mother’s family, and that’s why he’s called Fakir.

my magnum opus is rizemayu- a ship i coined between rize kamishiro and nutcracker from tokyo ghoul. think about it... two femme fatales who hate men but find peace in one another... the opposing aesthetics and styles... rize dresses more modestly, while mayu dresses in more revealing clothing... i hold them sweetly in my heart.

Once upon a time...

As many seasons pass and return again, one of the most looked forward to festivities at Kimbleton Manor was the merriest year-end celebration, filled with banquets, dancing, laughter and cheer. And among the guests of honour was none other than ‘Uncle’ Sir John Franklin, brother in arms of brothers Sirs Charles & Thomas Kimbleton. Sir John’s presence was the most looked forward to by the Kimbleton and Franklin nieces and nephews as they always wondered what mysterious and surprising ‘inventions’ would be showcased. This time - a grand doll dressed as a decorated Royal Marine sergeant that could twirl and leap to music like a masterful dancer. And then its dancing companion - a white polar bear in a tutu.

When the time had passed from dancing and entertainment to exchanging gifts, the golden-haired Priscilla was presented with a wrapped box from Sir John. Her eyes sparkle when she opens it - to find a nutcracker. “ Why, Uncle! A master of your art you are indeed - he’s beautiful! “ she exclaims - while taking the nutcracker gently in her hands and holding it up to better see.

If he slips, he nibble on the collar of his clothes or even the sleeve.

And since he’s very embarrassed of his regression, he mostly snap out of it when someone‘s mentions about it.
