i don't really like when people say dungeon meshi is accidentally good autistic representation, because while i understand not wanting to make conclusions without explicit confirmation from the author, there's always the weird assumption that non-western authors somehow don't know about things like neurodivergency/queerness/etc. (on top of the assumptions that east asian authors are somehow more naive or oblivious to "western" social issues).

given that dungeon meshi started being published in 2014, it's not really a "work belonging to its times"—it's as contemporary as any other media we discuss on this site, which means it should be fair to assume it engages with contemporary topics (and at the very least, you shouldn't say that the representation is accidental with so much confidence)

but anyways, the chapter "perfect communication" in ryoko kui's "terrarium in a drawer" is some of the most straightforward autistic representation I've seen, and from now on I'm going to assume that laios's character writing is absolutely intentional in that regard:

The midjourney stuff just reminds of when we were trying to find a new platform to host the ao3 donation form, and companies kept trying to tell me about all their "ai" features that would track donor engagement, and figure out the optimal pattern to email individual donors asking for follow up donations, and all the ways they suggest we manipulate people into staying on our websites. It was a great way to filter out who either wasn't listening to us when we described our ethics and donor base, or just didn't believe us.

Now granted ao3 is a unique case based on a) the amount of page views we get in any given time period and b) the fact that most donors absolutely do Not want to be identified as such anywhere, (the default "list of recent donors" module got nuked Immediately) but it surprised me some that the concept of "donors who value their privacy and would be furious at even the whiff of AI" is unique. Some of us really are just existing in different worlds.

I am mutuals only that means you follow me and I follow you. I am okay with those I don't follow talking to me ooc but I will only have ic interactions with those I follow. No hard feelings! Just to keep things manageable thank you in advance.

I am 30+ I've been around the rpc for years mostly in the zelda and disney communities. So a few that have been around may know me! c: Also due to my age I will not interact with younger people. I'd prefer 21+ but 18+ is fine too. It just makes me feel a little awkward thank you for understanding.

Even though I am an adult I do not want to write nsfw material though I am okay with implied or fade to black situations if they come up. Violence and gore is also treated the same nothing in the extreme.

I am also open to any kind of relationship with all of my characters. Romantic, family, friends, enemies, and everything in between. If you want to preplot relationships just shoot me a dm! I'm also totally okay with duplicates c:

I may be slow I have a life and things happen. I may reply the same day or three weeks later. If that isn't your thing that's okay. I'm also okay with my writing partners taking their time! We are all here for fun and that's what matters most! So absolutely no pressure.

Organize protests, sit-ins, peaceful disruptions, or awareness raising events on Israeli attacks on Palestinian sports.
