Zaafrani K H E E R Ideally I should be sharing the sheer khurma recipe that I am making right now as I share this post but since it’s in the making i thought to wish you all a very happy Chand 🌙 raat with this kheer I made last week in the Iftar dinner that we hosted for our friends last weekend. I usually don’t like bragging about my food but this kheer impressed me so much, not exaggerating at all. It turned out so good, I am so proud of myself 😄 I usually prefer making English desserts but for Eid, the traditional ones are the best bet. What do you think? When I ordered a meat skewer @flamegrillqueenstown I never imagined it’d come hanging on a tall stand! Thankfully they offered to take the stand away after I removed the meat. I ordered lamb and was surprised it came medium well to well done when lamb is meant to be served medium rare. I just realized this picture never made it to my feed. Came as a savior in these last days of Ramadan when I am unable to work much on the content and was badly searching for a picture to post 😅 This is crispy honey chili chicken by @foodfusionpk. Easy and quick recipe, turned out pretty good too. Presenting the king of chutneys - THE IMLI CHUTNEY It is one of the two chutneys I miss from Pakistani Wedding buffets. The other one is (Plum) Aalu Bukharay ki Chutney and since the aalu bukharay aren't available here so my only refuge is imli chutney. It's one in a year kinda task for me to make the said chutney in bulk and then enjoy it all year round. Haha The only step I hate about making this is the daunting task of sieving the pulp, other than that it gets prepared on its own. Yesterday, my battery was quite low when I opted to make it and I didn't even stirred it once after putting on stove. Added the spices and voila, it was all done. Please refer to the recipe on blog (link in bio) for the detailed recipe. I got a couple of questions regarding the storing part (when I shared that I am good for an year with it in the story), addressing them below for everyone else too coz imma over efficient, haha. Hope it helps :) I keep this chutney in the veggies section in refrigerator and it lasts for as long as you take the time to consume it, for real. My last batch of chutney lasted over an year, trust me. You just need to take care of these small things while storing the chutney and it’ll last longer. ➡️Keep it in airtight containers. Typically I (re)use the readymade ginger garlic paste jars or anything of the sort. ➡️The chutney should be cooled down before you transfer it to your storage jars. ➡️The jars must be clean and dry when you fill them up with the chutney. ➡️Use clean and dry spoons to scoop it out later on to avoid mould and fungus issues. Also, The consistency of this chutney is not too much runny. Now tell me Which team are you? Do you remember the cake I made specially for HI’s birthday last month? The recipe is finally uppp on the blog. (Sorry about the delay) I usually don’t say this but I was very proud of the cake I had made that day. It was super soft, moist and flavorsome. BEEF STEAK 🥩 Made these easy peasy and finger licking good steaks on the auspicious occasion of husband’s birthday this weekend. I was successful in taking out the word ‘steak’ for dinner afer probing him for about half a day about his preference. He kept on saying ‘ kuch b bana lo’(make anything) 🤦🏻‍♀️ Why is it that whenever you ask your husband what to cook? Kneading dough is always a daunting task. Doing it in traditional way is a long process which involves kick boxing skills, patience and time. And these days all of these attributes are too rare... aren't they? lol :p There are lots of other gadgets/ bigger machines in the market as well with which we can perform the said task but they are big, claim so much counter/ shelf space and let's be honest, hell expensive. So, I’ve uploaded a video on YouTube about ‘how I knead my dough in my normal food processor’ in addition to so many more functions it performs. It's like another pair of hands working by my side. It's one of those essential items in my kitchen without which my life would be incomplete. For washing the used bowl and other tools, I soak them in cold water for awhile and then just rub my hand over them to remove the remains of sticky dough before popping it in the dishwasher, LIFE'S EASY!! For those who wash with hands, trust me, soaking before washing will definitely prove to be a game changer. Let me know if you have any more questions in the comments below.
